Alexa spent the rest of class sulking. It didn't help that her ex boyfriend, Gary Oak, had taken her place as the star of battling class. "Professor, you should have countered the pikachu with an earthquake." The battling professor nodded as he awarded Gary and Gryffindor 10 points. Alexa let out a small gag when the professor had talked up Gary. 'Arceus, he was already a massive dick. Now he's going to be insufferable. Alexa why the fuck did you date that guy?', her green eyes shot over to Gary. 'Oh cause he's hot that's why', still Alexa couldn't get over the fact that Gary was now going to be the golden child for this class period. She continued to sulk.

The professor would show more and more of the battle. Finally he wrapped the class up with his final thoughts. "One simple mistake can shift the tide in battle. If you are careless or preoccupied", Alexa swore that the professor directed that comment at her. That made her put her head down. The nightmare had not ended yet. "You must have a clear and focused mind. This is chess in battling form. If you make a mistake then your opponent will capitalize and vise versa." With that the class was dismissed except for Alexa. She did not want to get out of her seat. Yet the professor sat at his desk with his eyebrows raised. "Ms. Wulf?", Alexa sighed.

"I'm sorry Professor. It's just", the professor raised his hand and glared. The professor was an intimidating man. Everyone had heard stories about his time in Kanto. What he did there was the stuff of legend. He was such a terrifying figure that once he had entered the Pokémon War against Team Illusion, the tide had turned. He was not one to argue with. "You're distracted. Is it because Mr. Oak is in the class. I know that you two were lovers at some point. Is it because of your bad breakup?" Alexa turned a deep red in fact she was purple. She covered her face in her hands. This was worse than she thought.

She opened her mouth, but no words came out. She just hung her head out of shame. Her favorite professor stared at her. It felt as if the professor was staring through her soul. Perhaps he was right, perhaps Gary also being in the class with her didn't help matters. She could avoid him even though they were both Gryffindors, but they didn't run in the same circles anymore. Perhaps she was distracted by Gary too. "What else is bothering you?", Alexa snapped out of her regret over Gary to what the Professor had said. Should she tell him? Would he even believe her? He leaned across the desk, "you're my prized student. I can tell when something is bothering you. So please tell me what is bothering you." Alexa took a deep breath and nodded.

So she told the professor everything. She told him about the dream. How the creature had attacked her and the baby. How she swore her mother was in the dream and the strange man that directed everything. The strange pyramid Pokémon that she had never seen before was also discussed. She then told the professor about her hand. How it had been excruciating pain when she woke up. The burning feeling she had. It felt good for Alexa to finally get all of it off her chest, to reveal what had been bothering her. The professor had cupped his hands and listened. He didn't say anything, he just listened intently. His eyes went back and forth as his mind raced. Finally the professor stood up. Alexa titled her head in confusion.

"Does it still hurt?", those were the first words out of the professor's mouth. Alexa looked down for a second trying to avoid eye contact. "No", she knew that would not convince him. The professor continued to stare at her. He shook his head then started to walk towards the door of the classroom. Alexa had no idea what was going on. This was weird by her professor. The man stopped at the door and looked at the stunned brunette. "Come along Ms. Wulf. If you want help you need to come with me.", Alexa did not hesitate, she followed her beloved professor to wherever he was going to take her.

Alexa had assumed that they were going to his office. Instead, the professor had led them to a wall. Alexa was utterly confused. Why would the battling professor just bring them to a wall? This was beyond weird. Sure he had not been the most conventional professor at Hogwarts, but even this was extreme. Alexa looked over at the professor, "Professor what are we doing here? This is just a wall. How can a wall help me?", the professor just looked and smirked at Alexa. "Look again.", Alexa looked back and saw a door with a giant R on in the middle of it. Her jaw dropped in utter confusion. Professor Giovanni opened the door and let Alexa walk in first.

Inside the room was a rather large battling field. Around the field were computers and a trophy case. Alexa walked over to the trophy case and saw a picture of a younger Giovanni. The man that had been the head of the infamous team rocket before he had decided to help the people of Erseen against Team Illusion Alexa stared at the picture as Giovanni appeared behind the 22 year old. "From another era. Back when I was young and naive." He patted Alexa on the shoulder. She was still stunned about where exactly she was. Her green eyes were wide as she looked at everything. "What is this place? How did you even do that?"

Giovanni just smiled and wagged a finger at Alexa. "The professors have a lot of tricks. I can't reveal them all to you. But never mind that, I have something else to show you." Giovanni motioned for Alexa to follow him. The brunette followed him. Giovanni stopped in front of the makeshift practice battling area. "This is where I train. The computers help analyze where I am weak and where I need to improve. It's everything that I could have imagined. This has made me a much better trainer." He glared at Alexa. "This can also help improve your battling skills." Alexa readied her eyes brows at this. She thought she was pretty damn good battler. She was top of her grade level afterall. "But Professor G, I thought you said I was one of the best battlers you have seen."

The former Team Rocket leader just smirked. He shook his head, "yes, you're very good Ms. Wulf. However, I want you to become special. You haven't become special yet." Alexa was baffled, 'what the fuck does he mean by special' she just asked herself. Professor Giovanni was acting quite odd. "As you know Ms. Wulf, I am not one about overly long lectures. I prefer practical demonstration." Giovanni walked over to a large computer and pushed a button. There the flood lights came on to highlight the battle arena. Some electric/dance music began to play over the loud speakers. Giovanni would then walk over to one side of the makeshift field and motioned for Alexa to get on the other side. "Now Ms. Wulf, come and battle me. I will show you what a special trainer looks like."

Alexa was going to fight Giovanni. The girl from Accordia would take on the former Team Rocket leader. The man that had decimated Team Illusion would be her opponent. 'Holy shit. How did I get myself into this mess', the usually arrogant 22 year old argued with herself. Her eyes just stared at the man across from her. Giovanni had removed his blazer and had a half red, half black pokeball that he tossed up into the air. "How about 3 Pokémon each, Ms. Wulf?" Alexa snapped out of her internal argument and just nodded at Giovanni. The battling instructor sly smirk had grown. "Excellent, well then allow me to make the first move. King, if you would please." Giovanni tossed the Team Rocket ball into the air. Out came a gigantic Rhyperior.

'Well shit. Of course he would have a rock and ground type.', she knew that Giovanni was a ground type master, but having a Rhyperior totally screwed her. She was an electric type trainer so clearly this put her at a great disadvantage. She stared at her pokebelt. She rubbed the bridge of her nose out of frustration. 'He must be expecting me to use Sparks. Damn it I knew I shouldn't have used him as my lead in so much.' Giovanni meanwhile pointed at his watch as a way to try and get her to hurry up and select her Pokémon. Alexa just rolled her eyes. Finally she settled on a pokeball that she thought would be a good matchup. "Well it's not the best type matchup, but come on out Odin."

The Pokémon that was released from the pokeball had a powerful jaw like a Dreadnaw, except this Pokémon had little dragon which which caused it to fly in the air. The Pokémon was a golden yellow with a white underbelly. The Pokémon landed in front of the Rhyperior and let out a powerful roar. Sure Odin was only a middle evolution, but he was still powerful. Plus he was quick and that's what Alexa needed to counter the pure power of the Rhyperior. Giovanni looked at what Alexa had thrown out and smiled. "Ah a Thudraon. Beautiful. I have to admit that I have long been an admirer of this Pokémon. This should be an interesting challenge. You may have the first move."

'Come on Alexa. It's a battle. So what if it's your mentor. You need to focus and treat it like any other battle.", she actually smacked her cheeks to try and psych herself up. She looked at the rhyperior and then at Odin. 'Well electric attacks won't work. We need to just rely on dragon attacks. Also we don't want to mess around with getting in too close. Need to keep distance.' Alexa likes to have a good strategy, but right now she couldn't focus. Everything had just thrown her for a loop. She hadn't come up with a good strategy. "You know you can't rely on have a predetermined strategy every time you battle. It's time to see what you do on the fly.", Giovanni glared at her. Alexa shut her eyes and took a deep breath.

"Alright fine. Odin, use dragon breath.", Alexa was flustered. She just was not thinking correctly. A dragon attack probably would not be very effective against the Rhyperior. Still she had to try something. "Thu", Odin's mouth glowed and started to form a ball of energy. The electric dragon then fired off the ball of energy towards the Rhyperior. The attack directly hit the Rhyperior, yet the Rhyperior did not flinch. It didn't even appear to be effected by the attack at all. In fact Professor Giovanni and the Rhyperior smirked at the same time. This made Alexa turn a pale white. There was only one thing that entered her mind at that very moment. 'Oh shit.'

Giovanni did not even have to give instructions to the Rhyperior. It was as if King acted on his own. In one fell swoop, the Rhyperior swung its gigantic hand along the ground and scooped up some mud and dirt. The massive hulk of a mon would then throw the mud right into Odin's eyes. The electric dragon tried to get the mud out, but it was too late. A bunch of rocks collapsed onto the Thudraon. Odin didn't even cry out. He had been knocked unconscious as soon as he hit the ground. The Rhyperior showed no emotion as it saw the unconscious Pokémon laid before him. Professor Giovanni smirked, "excellent King." He then turned to Alexa, "you have to be prepared for anything. Especially if Team Illusion has returned. They won't play nice."

Alexa was stunned. Her green eyes just widened. In fact her body shook. Professor Giovanni had just said Team Illusion had returned. Yes, Alexa had heard the rumors about that dreaded team returning, but now here was a professor just flat out saying it. But that was not what concerned her, if Team Illusion was back then that meant her mother could escape from prison. This put Viola in grave danger and that was something that Alexa would not allow to happen. It couldn't be true. Maybe the professor was just screwing with her to get a rise. But Alexa still wanted to know, if it were true, how Giovanni knew that Team Illusion was back. "Professor, how...", that was all she could muster. The shock from his comment and watching her Pokémon be beaten got to her.

Giovanni tilted his head and held a finger up to his lips. "I'll only tell you, if you truly concentrate. If you can bring out the best in yourself.", that sparked something in Alexa. She was done playing games. Alexa had something building back inside her. That competitive drive she had known was trying to rear its head again. If her favorite professor wanted to see a pissed off Alexa, well he was going to be in for a treat. This time she did not hesitate as she grabbed an all white pokeball.

"Meg, I need you.", the creature that emerged was huge. The pokemon was like a 3 horned ram mixed with a triceratops. Meg's White horns were tipped with an electric current that surged. The creatures body was silver, black, and gold. Meg stood on four legs and had a scowl on her face. Her horns continued to surge with electricity as she stared at the Rhyperior before her. Meg would dig a foot into the ground as a way of establishing her position in battle. The Rhyperior did not move neither did Giovanni. Alexa had dug her feet into the ground just like Meg had. That action seemed to please Giovanni as he rubbed his chin and gave a slight smirk.

"Ahhh now this will present a challenge, right King?", the Rhyperior nodded. Giovanni looked in admiration at Meg and Alexa. "Your bouquetor is an impressive beast. I have seen her take out quite a few different strong pokemon before. So you decided to go power vs power." Alexa did not say anything. Her mind was just racing with everything that had been laid at her feet. But most important she was in a battle. 'You need to focus on the battle Alexa. Forget everything else. Come on. You and Meg can take this thing down. Now just think.' That was when an idea popped into Alexa's head. 'Meg is a steel type. I know Rhyperior's are weak against steel types.'

"Meg use earthquake.", Alexa looked over and saw that Giovanni was confused. She had finally thrown her mentor for a loop. This brought a small smirk to her face. 'Take that Professor G.' Meg started to stomp the ground. Giovanni looked at King who nodded. He too started to stomp the ground. Both earthquake attacks collided with one another. The impact had caused the whole room to shake. The dirt and dust had formed a cloud that covered the arena. This played right into what Alexa had planned. 'It's a risk, but we have try it. Come on Meg.' Alexa took a deep breath and prayed to Arceus that her plan was going to work.

"Meg, quick before he can react, use steel beam!", the female Bouquetor dug into the ground. She planted her feet into the ground as her mouth began to glow with a silver ball of energy. "Bouquetor!", Meg roared as she fired off the attack. A huge beam of silver light shot out straight toward the Rhyperior. King was hit directly by the attack and roared in pain. The attack had actually started to crack some of the stone armor. Some jagged pieces of steel stuck in the creatures armor. Alexa looked at her mentor, she expected Giovanni to be sad at the fact that King had been defeated. Instead he applauded the girl and how powerful Pokémon. 'What the fuck!'

"I commend you, Ms.Wulf", Giovanni recalled King who was almost unconscious. "That was a big risk you took by using the steel beam attack. I did not think you would have the nerve to use it. I thought you would play the safe route. But you actually caught me off guard." Alexa knew that Giovanni was toying with her. She rolled her eyes at the false praise. "Professor G, I am not one of your first year students. You don't have to patronize me by talking down about my battling skills." Meg nodded in perfect sync with Alexa. The professor did a mock bow to Alexa and smiled. "As you wish, Ms. Wulf."

Giovanni grabbed a ball from his his belt. There was a big M on it, which signaled a master ball. This ball was reserved for only the best and hardest to catch Pokémon. That meant the professor had something special that he was going to use. Professor Giovanni had never shown all of his Pokémon. Alexa had never seen him use a master ball before. Her sense of danger was going off. "Well Ms. Wulf, I want you to meet Aragon." The professor tossed the masterball up into the air. What came out of it sent shivers up not only Alexa's, but Meg's spines.

Before them a half wolf half dragon like Pokémon. It was black with purple and dark red scattered throughout the Pokémon. Two sharp looking horns stuck out from its wolf like head. A mixture of fur and scales covered the Pokémon. It's claws were long and sharp, it's black tail was bushy and a mixture of red, black, and purple. The Pokémon's eyes were black like a pit. It stared at both Alexa and Meg with a look of hatred. The four legged creature let out a loud roar and snarled. Meg tried to not give off any sense of worry, but Alexa knew better. Meg was scared and so was she. Alexa pulled out her Rotom Dex and she pointed it at the Professor's Pokémon.

"Aelyad, the legendary Pokémon. Aelyad are native to the Forbidden Forest. Thought to rule the forest, this Pokémon is kind to those that they sense have a good heart. The Pokémon can only be trained by those it deems worthy. The trainer and the Pokémon are supposed to have a special connection though there is no evidence of that. Only 2 known Aelyad exist."

'Holy shit. He has a legendary. How the fuck can I beat that? There is no way.', she shook her head. Her eyes glistened in anger. She didn't want to quit, but she did not want to see Meg get battered nor did she want to quit. Professor Giovanni would probably be beyond angry if Alexa just gave up. But Meg and Sparks were not strong enough to fight a legendary Pokémon. Not yet at least. Alexa shook her head, 'I can't let them get hurt. I have to protect them. I should tell professor G-', her thoughts were cut off by the clear scowl on her professor's face. He folded his arms in front of his chest and stared at Alexa. She had never seen this look on his face before.

"So what a new challenge pops up and you're ready to quit?", he shook ahis head. Alexa felt a wave of anger directed towards her. It was a weird feeling, but Giovanni seemed beyond upset. "You are supposed to be the best battler at this school Alexa. You have a talent that no one here has. You can be even better than me. But you need to get out of your own head." Alexa took those words to heart. She knew she was good, but for Giovanni to come out and say she could be the best started to cause her to relax a bit. He had faith in her then she should have the same faith in herself. No she wouldn't quit, she would stick it out. She needed to come up with a better plan to take out the legendary.

But the professor was not done. In fact he would drop a bombshell that would rock Alexa's world. "Your mother was the best battler I had ever seen. Talented, beautiful, and she had a gift that she passed onto you. You have a connection with your Pokémon that not many others have. She had it and when I see you battle, I see her in you." Giovanni's voice cracked. Talking about her mother seemed to have brought out something in the former Team Rocket leader. That was weird since Alexa didn't remember her bastard of a mother ever mentioning the professor. "Professor. The hell are you talking about? You never knew my mother. She never mentioned you at all. This is weird and I am getting really creeped out." Meg had sensed something to be wrong and moved in front of her trainer. She dug a line in the dirt in case something went wrong.

The professor took a few deep breaths, "of course SHE wouldn't know me. She wasn't your real mother. She was a plant by Team Illusion to get to you and your sister." Alexa could feel her heart pounding. 'No there's no way. What the fuck is he talking about? She was my mother.' Alexa started to shake. 'It's a lie. It's all a LIE! This has gone on far enough', the 22 year old tried to deny it, but it made sense. She didn't look like her mother at all. She did t remember her mom having that motherly touch. But how would her professor know this? "How...how do you know? What are you talking about?", her voice was barely audible. She held onto her stomach as if someone had just stabbed her. It couldn't have been possible.

Giovanni meanwhile looked at her with compassion, a rarity from him. "Your dream? It wasn't a dream. What happened to you and Viola actually happened. Your real mother was a friend. She wanted to protect you, but...", that was all Alexa remembered before she crumbled to the ground. The pain of her reality had come crashing down on her. She collapsed in a heap as Meg ran over towards her trainer.

"Bou!", Meg cried as she nudged Alexa. Alexa meanwhile did not get up. She stayed in a crumbled heap. Meg continued to rub and rub. Alexa did not move. Her breath slowed.
