A:N- I know Illya is a Magus but given her upbringing in Einzbern Castle I believe its unlikely she would know ecchi stuff like most magi, especially as she would have a short life she was isolated as to ahem, not getting distracted from dying for Heaven's Feel as her duty thus what she knows is what she was allowed to know until she gets to Fuyuki. And we haven't seen much of Illya's full abilities so don't ask me to show what we all don't know, so I go with what little I have. I don't have that kinda connection with TYPEMOON...do you? If so please help me out instead of ranting at me and no, body anatomy is different its IMPOSSIBLE to have Mystic Eyes here. Meridians are different, from Magic Circuits.

And can you imagine Kiritsugu teaching Illya those kind of things about what modern magi do in the Association? I based my Illya in a mix of UBW series and Heaven's Feel, not that Kaleid Series...that just makes me go brrr...so this Illya here is innocent in some aspects of humanity, but she has the ruthlessness of any magi in getting what she wants, be it wares or revenge. And this Illya will be a bit more humane. This world is nothing like Nasuverse, so she can RELAX, things simple to mere humans, but ahem, a luxurious commodity by standards for magi who walk with death every day.

I don't want my Illya to be like that one from Kaleid series! And while the original Fate Series is an Eroge, there's a good reason there's no ecchi route for Illya by typemoon in the three routes or the law will be up in arms vs typemoon should that go public. I'll wait until she's actually 15 in my fic by following the novel's timeline.

I got flak from readers who wants to see what they wanna see here, but you're outnumbered by moral guardians flooding my PM, OK? I got flak for having Wu Chong enjoy Illya naked!

First Patient and Citylife Excitements

Its Midsummer as expected of this world's equivalent of July.

It's stinking hot as Lingyue traveled slowly, fanning herself with an enchanted fan that blows cold air at her. And she has a floating umbrella above her larger than her wire bird so the thing she sits on doesn't become painful to sit on.

'It's so hot~' back home was lucky, she planted some Ice-Freezing Grass in the courtyard while keeping some in her space.

She stopped by a river where some old folk were fishing for lunch break.

It was easy to make grilled fish and after that, destroy scales, fins and bones later and then manners be damned!

'That felt nice~' she smiled as she conjured a plate and some select pickles from her storehouse in her space. She will also have to make fresh ones and sell them in Bo City later though due to her journey, she'll have to throw them away later before they spoil. Surely some fish will appreciate spirit-infused pickles? Or maybe...the ducks will. She tossed some to the ducks, wondering if they'll become spirit beasts...nada. Nothing happened. Maybe its too little power in the pickles. Ah well.

Time passes by in her space STUPIDLY FAST she had to be careful about preservation. A few minutes is equivalent to weeks inside that ten minutes is enough to make her pickles taste real great. Twelve hours outside is a year inside. Make of that what you will. Yet strangely, she, the owner, doesn't age fast when she plants stuff in there. It only affects ingredient maturation, refining speed and fermentation processes for ingredients vital for alchemy.

Despite these boons, Hongmeng-san was more of a Healer than he was an Alchemist. From the records and manuals he left behind, most of the content only pertained to medicine and healing techniques. His alchemy knowledge, even in basics is spotty that she learned better from the manuals mom got her. But she combined his healing knowledge to hers. He's a master in spirit healing while she's an ahem, 'default master' with the physical body as she was born with knowledge she was given at birth.

The Ancient Wuzhen Wine Honey left behind by Hongmeng-san, was ancient that a spoonful of it is enough to kill you by severe alcoholic intoxication even if age made it insanely delicious and incredibly generous in giving ahem, EXP points to next level.

Mixing it with her Rainbow Creek water infused with Phoenix's sacred energy gave it further boost enough for beginners to go barely a 1st layer to 9th layer at once, as she found the Water Element in a Phoenix's nest in Mengyun Marsh when a couple was building it...she gave them a shit-ton of her very-old herbs and fruits from her ancient trees Madam Phoenix finds valuable in nourishing herself for her pregnancy in exchange for a dozen feathers from her husband Mister Phoenix and a bottle of tears from the Madam. Oh, and blast the tile some more with their sacred energy before she touched it and absorbed by her cauldron!

End result, the Water Element she gained has phoenix powers of purging and healing, prominent in her Rainbow Creek.

It was a fair trade-off that due to all that hoard, Mister Phoenix now stays home while Madam Phoenix is pregnant instead of leaving her to hunt for food for hours...while their food supplies last, and keeping away anything that sees their hoard of food.

Grilled fish with pickles is a simple, modest but nourishing pleasure. While she rested by a river that was so full because it rained days back, she took out one of her Ice-Freezing Grass to keep cool that caused about quite a large radius of cooling atmosphere enough for a school auditorium a lot of passers-by definitely appreciates. The 6 years old grass strain was that strong. But if used on metal mines...brrr.

Later, a pleasure boat passed by. It's large as expected.

'Uwaa, you'd have to be rich to afford a boat that big made of expensive but strong wood.' Lingyue pouted while munching on sour pickles. Good way to combat heat of summer if you're outside of the house without the comfort of Ice-Freezing Grass.

However, it barely passed by her spot when she heard a splash.

Did they dump trash into the river? Not her problem.

Wait...

Splashing?

She saw a HAND and it registered to her that some moron fell overboard and needed rescuing as they can't swim. And rich people tend to wear flowy clothes that weighs them down some more.

Using alchemy to manipulate water, she rescued whoever that was and brought them to shore. It was a young man in white, shivering horribly. His good looks is comparable to those ancient lineages of magi, but ten times superior. His skin is as creamy as hers.

She scanned his body and extracted the water out of his stomach and lungs. He also has the same Cold Poison as the masked man. "How common is this anyway?" she wondered as the boat docked to the shore and an old man with servants came out.

'You there! How is the young master?!' the old man cried as from the boat, they saw the young man being floated to the shore and taken in by a person with a very large umbrella.

'He drowned but I got the water out of his body and dried his clothes, elder.' said Lingyue. 'But his clothes got dirty with muddy river water, he needs some changing...and I'll prescribe medicine after.'

xxx

Inside the boat...

After the servants changed the young man who was shivering...

'Back home in Qixing Mountains, I once met a black-robed man with a silver mask and golden eyes.' Lingyue told the elder after feeling the young man's pulse. 'He also had Cold Poison similar to your young master's...is this common among rich people lately?'

'It tends to happen during succession crisises if one's guard is down I'm afraid.' said the Elder somberly. 'What would you require?' Lingyue took out a syringe she made out of her space.

'I ask of your permission to draw a small amount of blood to study it in front of your eyes.' Lingyue requested. 'I need to know my chances of curing or giving him some relief if I lack resources.' the elder was apprehensive before nodding. Lingyue then drew blood. A small amount...and she took out a chalk and drew an elaborate magic circle on the floor, before squirting the blood in the center from her syringe.

The Elder and servants watched, amazed as she worked her magic...and ingredients appeared before their eyes. 'This is poison...and now, the counter...' a new batch of ingredients appeared. The age was also stated and the ratios needed. They were wares she knows not. '...I don't know those. Xia City's Herb stores don't have those and that capital has everything Daxia's land can offer. But I've never seen those ingredients.'

'We will purchase those no matter what!' the Elder lit up in delight at the possible future of their young master being cured. He seems to know the ingredients, Lingyue mused. 'I'll have men ready! Where can we find you to create the cure for the master?!' those ingredients are super rare with a very low chance of finding them is the problem, but at least they now know what they need. Their young lord will have to wait for years to have them, but its better than nothing.

'Humm, I'll be spending a certain time in Bo City before I go to Xia City and back to Qiufeng Town...just those three places.' Lingyue smiled. 'I am Ye Lingyue from Ye Family. We're known Yuan Iron miners. And seeing as it's clearly high-class poison, please buy extra ingredients incase of a refining failure, OK?' she said sheepishly. 'Precautions are good. If I fail you can ask Master Longyu in Xia City or if lucky, Senior Alchemist Jia if he's actually home.'

'Of course!'

'In the meantime...do you have a wine jar? He should have my Rainbow Treasure Wine to feel better in the meantime.' Lingyue recommended.

'Rainbow...Treasure Wine?'

'Yes, its a stock an ancestor left behind for whoever in our family becomes an Alchemist, so I carry that heirloom wine now. It should buy some time until you acquire the goods.'

And so...

It shines with rainbow light...and the smell is incredibly aromatic! Enough to wake the unconscious patient on the bed!

'What is that...?' the young man croaked out, drawn by the wonderful smell of Rainbow Treasure Wine.

'It's a wine we've never heard of before...' the Elder offered some wine to the young man who looked at the glowing wine and took a sip...

...life and vigor filled his body, as well as a large amount of Yuan Energy that warmed and filled up his body and nearly all his pain disappeared, but he can tell that the poison remains. He will be cold again, soon! How long the effects remains, he doesn't know but right now, he's warm and pain-free! And the yuan energy he gained remained while he's still 'warm'.

'This wine is good.' he said. 'The pain goes away.' the young man smiled as he looked at fast-emptied cup in his hand. His hand also no longer trembled. 'It's delicious and I'd want more, but its clearly medicine for bad days. How much for this wine and can I have ten more jars?' he asked Lingyue hopefully.

Lingyue took out her wine honey jar. 'This is the wine honey of that thing mixed with special treated water to make that rainbow wine...this thing,' she removed the lid that caused intense aroma heaven inside the room that got the men drooling helplessly and weak-kneed as they can TASTE it just by smelling it! 'Is over 600 years old. This thing is so potent that in that jar I gave you, I only used ten drops of wine honey and diluted with water enough for a delicious wine jar.' she put it away. 'That wine is therefore, 40000 gold...and you said times-ten...'

'Sold!' he clapped his hands, and the Elder took out bags of gold...how rich IS this guy?

As Lingyue left, the Elder then exploded.

'Damn things! Where's the people on duty today?!' The beard coming off of the yellow clothed elder was quivering due to anger.

If they didn't encounter a person of great fortune today, their young lord would've been dead by now.

'Young master please punish us.' The group wearing servants attire kneeled in unison, their voices powerful and strong. Clearly these people aren't some commoner like they make themselves out to be, likely some sort of well-trained army division.

These servants understood it very well. If not for the help of the girl today, their families back at home in Beiqing would likely face capital punishment by the Emperor himself: DEATH TO ALL RELATIVES!

'Teacher, their carelessness is unintentional.' Feng Shen, their master speaks with a good temper.

Some of the still standing servants were secretly relieved by the tone.

Seems its true on what they say, this young lord is a benevolent person and a real loser if he's going to tolerate his subordinates after nearly losing his life.

'Young master, the state has their state laws, and the family has their family rules. Our Phoenix Manors rule cannot be broken by their hands.' Yellow robed elder stretched his face, the typical look of a sour old prune.

And thus begins the usual hush and fuss of this old man. One moment he's talking about what could've have happened, the next how he cant face the great ancestors of the Phoenix house, and eventually rambling onto saving the world and etc.

'If so, then take the three over there as an example.' Frail to begin with, Feng Shen pointed to the three men standing next to him.

The three at the other end of his finger all froze in that second. In no time at all, these three guards pounced like wild animals onto the floor in a begging position.

'Mercy young master, we are innocent, we weren't on duty today.' Making a face full of innocence, the three didn't show the slightest sign of wanting to struggle.

'If the three of you aren't on duty then why did you three appear on deck?' it's unsaid that they were the ones who got him nearly killed by pushing him overboard. 'Drag them out and execute them with the rod.' came his soft, but cold order. Deep in those eyes, a flash of coldness flickered through without anyone noticing.

Not long after the three guards were dragged out, the screaming pleas for mercy quickly came to an end.

'Young master, how are you since taking the wine?' Seeing the condition of his young lord, yellow clothed elder wondered how it improved the young master so. Color returned to his lord's face!

'I'll be OK in a few hours...I'll see how long one cup of Rainbow Treasure Wine lasts me.' Feng Shen smiled. 'Chiyang Ginseng isn't effective anymore as of late, that miss is a stroke of luck.'

He's been a medicine jar since he was but a child, whether or not its affective, he will know with one taste.

'Young master, you don't have to worry. You're an auspicious person so the heavens will one day see to it that you are cured.' Yellow clothed elder sighed inside, cursing at why the heavens would punish this exquisite hearted boy with an incurable disease. 'We know where to find Miss Ye incase we need her any time.'

They can go straight to Xia City as planned.

xxx

After disembarking by flying out from the docks, Lingyue was grinning like a loon as she earned 400.000 gold...

'Teehee! Mom and I are getting richer!'

If 1 gold is 500.000 yen...she's then in possession of 200 billion yen! With the money she has now, maybe she can buy materials to refine as special items for herself!

'This is awesome~!' she flew to Bo City at high speeds that she was there in two hours.

Upon arrival, Bo City was more crowded than ever.

'...can I still rent a space here?' she sweatdropped as she quickly sought out hotels.

All full.

Even apartments!

'You can't be serious...!' Lingyue moaned as she spent four hours searching for a vacant place. 'All full?!'

'It can't be helped miss, today is Auction Day.' said the hotel receptionist helplessly. 'Many wealthy people come here for Profit House's annual auction sale. All hotels, inns and even apartments are booked.'

'You've gotta be joking.' Lingyue grumbled before looking defeated. 'I should have come earlier had I known this will happen! Honestly!' Fifth Uncle Huangxuan isn't at home right now, because grandfather ordered EVERYONE to 'enjoy' the newly-dubbed Family Sacred Training Grounds, so he sent his servants home for a vacation. But hey, she can clean and cook...hopefully Fifth Uncle lets her off just this once by sneaking in and making herself at home!

Alchemist Association...

Lingyue asked the receptionist, Master Chang on the application process for being an Alchemist.

She filled in some forms and before she can finish it, she was taken to the third floor where there are many cauldrons.

'OK miss, lift them one at a time with your Spirit Force.' said Master Chang. 'When you lift one, keep that one afloat as you float the next one, and so on.'

"...I should lift only five." Lingyue is capable of lifting it all, but her alchemy is limited. WAY LIMITED. Alchemists here are expected to refine magical tools and weapons, two things beyond her unless she has a patron. She's thus stuck to pills and her Earth Alchemy. The single magical item she made by far, are the glass balls to light up the mines.

She lifted five.

'Oho! Only 13 and you lifted five cauldrons when most alchemists your age can barely lift two, let alone three!' Master Chang looked delighted. 'A rare genius!' he wrote her information on paper. 'The stipulations to maintain your membership is that you must make a monthly payment of ten blue pills, Miss Yi.'

Lingyue lied about her identity to protect herself. She wrote down the name 'Yi Liya'. Its as close as she can get to 'Illya'. Yi written as 益 =benefit, li 理 = logic and 壓 = to press.

'Then this means I can begin selling pills now as well?'

'Of course, but you're still obliged to make monthly pay, its not included in your sales of pills, Miss Yi.'

'Just got that clarified.'

And so, she marked the current day...15th of a month, so she made a record that she'll pay in any association branch her membership fee. Master Chang made a record and accepted her first pay of blue-patterned pills and they're all for fast healing in in deep injuries. She was also told of her privileges and was asked if she wanted an emblem coat or pin she can wear with anything, she chose a pin.

She then went to Juqilou, where she put an item of hers for sale.

Juqilou was a specialty of the Yimen or the Profit House.

As long as the goods are valuable, one can always consign the Yimen to sell it in their Juqilou.

Though Yimen wont delve into the background of the goods when placed in their care, but once sold, they will take ten percent as rumination fee. Also, any information pertaining to the seller and buyer remains confidential, making this sort of business very profitable.

Aside from consignment, Juqilou also offers appraisal services with a ten percent fee. If successful, whether or not the owner wishes to continue selling it in the Juqilou depends entirely on the guest.

She put up for sale her Blue-Patterned Chiyang Pill for breaking through to Dan Realm that got the person she was selling to looking at her in disbelief. And she gave ten.

'This is...!'

'Yeeees?' Lingyue smiled sweetly. The man sweated buckets.

'Good lord, I hope anyone in there can afford these!' the man shivered, glancing at the auction hall in a pitying manner. 'These are priced at gold levels, you know!'

'All the better for us, no?' Lingyue's eyes glinted with 'something' as she smiled.

'Ahahaha...'

Inside the Hall...

It was on the fifth floor.

It was a huge hall around four to five hundred feet in size and had gorgeous furnishings. The floor was covered in the finest animal rugs and the walls were decorated with jade corals all along the surface. What extravagance!

There's about 60 people here. 61 if including her.

Young and old, they're all well-off people judging by their clothes. If they are rich, they would be vibrantly-colored and of silk. The people here wear high-quality cotton instead like herself, but still vibrantly-colored.

In addition to the guests, Lingyue also sensed a couple of Yuan forces scattered across the hall.

When compared to Ye Gu who was Dan Realm martialist, nevermind herself, these forces would be inferior to them in any way.

Seems there are quite a few masters hidden in this place, but not good enough!

Randomly choosing a seat to sit in, Lingyue just so happens to land herself next to a woman in red. About twenty years of age with apricot eyes and a peachy cheek, this lady was very pretty.

Seeing Lingyue, the red clothed woman didn't act strange and nodded in greeting. Since there are still some time between the start of the auction, it didn't take long for the two girls to start chatting it up.

Lingyue liked the woman. She's warm and friendly with no iciness nor any sinisterness in her eyes. Her eyes are like that of Taiga's in expression.

'Is this the first time little sister came to Yimen?' Red clothed woman was somewhat intrigued by the fact that Lingyue didn't come with an elder due to her young age.

'I just came to Bo City not long ago. When I heard Yimen is an interesting place, I decided to come have a look.' Lingyue said good-naturedly. 'I wanna see how far people will go for rare stuff.' the woman thought this girl has an interesting way of thinking. Wanna learn how people think, huh?

'Then you came right. The things in here isn't bad at all. Also, if little sister got deep pockets, you can get all sorts of rare things here.' The red robe woman seems to be of exceptional background with good insight. A few sentences down, she managed to divulge most of the key information pertaining to Bo City's situation.

She would know best.

She is Lan Cai'er, Lan Yingwu's daughter. She would know Bo City's situation best!

As they were busily chatting away, their conversation was interrupted by a shopkeeper.

'Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Juqilou. The twenty-three items on display during the first half of the show are all for sale under consignment by our customers. Each product is marked with their reserved prices, and if anyone is interested, feel free to bid for it at the lowest price call of one hundred silver.'

100 silver, Lingyue thought. That's 10 gold.

At the mention, the shopkeeper points to the numbered items indicating the products for todays sale.

Lan Cai'er took interest in a century-old agarwood for sale. But the starting price was 10000 silver! That's worth more than a block of gold...with good reason.

Agarwood was a type of crystal like resin that grows out of a fragrant tree unique to the southern region of this kingdom. By cutting a small piece and then burning it like an incense, the aroma coming off of it can help improve the conditions of various illnesses and was said to be comparable to a medicinal Dan pill in its use. And what's on sale is about the size of a mortuary tablet!

However, when Lan Cai'er bid 11000, others retreated, leaving only a few rich bidding for it before a fat merchant at front bid 20000...and her cauldron is shaking in warning.

'Sister Lan, I have a bad feeling.' Lingyue muttered darkly, glaring at the fat merchant at front. 'The price is going highway robbery on purpose started by that fatty, it's 30000 now!'

With that reminder, the woman in red immediately looked over, her brows curling into a tight knot.

In order to win the bid for the Agarwood, she had lost her composure for a moment there and didn't realize the fatty down there was a well-known dishonest merchant in the city.

Selling counterfeits and cheating the cheats, that's the daily business of that merchant.

Then that Agarwood.

'Wait, shopkeeper, I want to see that piece of Agarwood. The woman in red stopped the auction because according to the rules of Yimen, a buyer can inspect the goods halfway into the event.

She trusts Yimen to not cheat its customers, however the origin of that Agarwood seems to have some issues.

And of course, Yimen also recognizes the woman in red so she was immediately allowed to go up.

Flipping over the Agarwood, its confirmed to be the real deal, but!

At the bottom of this thing, there's a blood stain.

A few days ago, a chamber of commerce from the neighboring city, who was transporting a century old Agarwood, was ransacked by bandits while on the road, leaving no survivors in the end.

Turning white in her face, the woman in red didn't make a scene and directly places the Agarwood down without making another bid.

Seeing the woman suddenly abandoning the bid for the item, the fat merchant and his partner also became very depressed. In the end, the two dishonest businessmen can only use thirty thousand silver to buy back the blood-stained Agarwood.

Coincidentally, the final item of the show turns out to be Lingyue's very own Chiyang Pills.

'Our final item for the first half of this auction, are these Blue-Patterned Chiyang Pills! They rarely appear even in the Alchemist Association!' the Shopkeeper knows that from reactions, the customers, are on fire! 'As you all know, breaking through to Dan Realm the normal way is difficult, but with these Chiyang Pills, breaking through is as easy as hopping over a fence by reinforcing your ability to gather Yin energy to help you form the core and we have ten! Who will be the lucky ones to own a pill by the end of the show?! The catch is everyone has ten chances!' the shopkeeper declared as the atmosphere became a raging inferno. 'Starting price for all pills, is 9000 silver each!'

Even Lan Cai'er wanted one!

xxx

'So much for buying my father a birthday present.' Lan Cai'er sulked. 'I ended up buying for my own sake instead!' she sighed as her pill is safely in her possession. She spent 45000 silver for hers. Lingyue left when the final pill was being fought over on the guise of going to the loo when in the end, she gathered her prize money and waited for the last. It was easier to pay her in gold than sacks of silver! Her revenue almost reached 9400 gold, but deductions are made per sale as Yimen's remuneration price.

'So you're about to break through to Small Yin Dan soon?'

'Yeah, but its as everyone says, tough.' Cai'er scowled. 'Been trying for months now! Even with father's coaching.' she lamented. 'I wanted that agarwood, but I didn't buy it.'

'How come?'

Cai'er explained what she knew that stunned Lingyue. She didn't expect for that piece of resin to have such a nasty origin story!

'...so if I bought that thing, it's the same as buying it from the Black Market.' Cai'er shivered. She wouldn't want to bring such damage to her family's repute by buying it. 'Didn't they see the bloodstain on that thing? Guess they didn't.'

'Heee...but you said you want medicine, right? People say your father got injured five years ago but its so long yet nothing's good enough?'

'We don't know why nothing worked.' said Cai'er gloomily.

'Humm...then, try this out.' Lingyue took out a yellow pill that got Cai'er nearly having a heart attack. 'It's an injury-healing pill.'

'Hwow! How the eff did you get this?!' Cai'er squawked as she felt the pill. It has the aura and energy of what you'd expect from a rarely-seen yellow pill! What the hell?! How'd a girl shorter than her have it, ah?!

'I have plenty of those, and you can pay me back later.' Lingyue offered. She's building a good repute with this lady for now.

Cai'er wondered if she can even pay back a yellow pill...then again, she was someone willing to spend money to break through to Dan Realm!

'I'll pay you 50000 silver for this!'

'Deal!'

'C'mon to my house, we'll wait for father there. Not even I am allowed in there.' Cai'er rolled her eyes. 'Stupid rule by politicians that no ladies allowed.' she grumbled. Lingyue sweatdropped.

'Ahahaha...'

xxx

Governor's Mansion...

'Thanks for having me over Sister Lan.' said Lingyue. She took out her own personal jar of Rainbow Monkey Wine, aged for '10 years' in her space and age more if she keeps it in there while she still has stock. As she removed the cover, aroma assault ensued and the aroma got Cai'er weak-kneed.

'This is so awesome!' Cai'er drooled as she quickly got some for herself and took a sip, but she felt a gain of yuan energy as well as the warm feeling of 'being healed' that she felt so alive. '...w-what the...?'

'My monkey wine is a little different.' Lingyue chuckled. 'Its my special blend, not literal monkey blend you'd find in the woods.' she told Cai'er in pride. 'By the way, the more you drink the effects will keep coming, so you can drink all you like and never get drunk and not get killed by Liver Failure.'

'If it heals me before my liver gets stressed that definitely won't happen!' Cai'er laughed cheerfully. 'This is wonderful~'

As they got to pleasure-drinking with benefits, somebody just came in.

'Dear daughter, what sort of good stuff are you hiding from your good old pa here?' In the middle of Lan Cai'ers delight, a rough yet heroic voice came from behind.

Caier couldn't resist smiling at this point for this monkey wine actually lured over this alcoholic father of hers.

Walking in big strides, a middle aged martialist was hurrying over with a smile. Though this man was already coming in on his age, those bulging muscles didn't lose out to any youngster at all.

With a pair of sharp eyes thats comparable to a tigers, the only regretful part about this masculine man was the way he walked, theres a slight limp to his posture. The newcomer was Cai'ers father and the current governor of this prefecture, Lan Yingwu.

Although Lan Yingwu was the governor of a prefecture, his waist had a nondescript broadsword hanging there, making him look unbefitting for that image.

He hailed from the military in his younger years. From an ordinary soldier, he climbed the ranks and eventually became the first commoner born general in Daxia. With a history like that, its no wonder he's such a legendary figure in these lands.

But all things came at a cost. Due to an old injury suffered from battle, Lan Yingwu had no choice but to eventually retire from his original post and become a civil official in Bo City.

Due to a late marriage, Yingwu didn't take his current wife until he was thirty years of age. Nevertheless, the pair loved each other well and eventually gave birth to their beloved daughter Cai'er.

Like her father, Lan Cai'er also had exceptional talent in martial art. Through diligent work and her fathers tutelage, she was already an upper celestial expert.

Then looking to Governor Lan's side, a man dressed as a scribe was standing there in a beautifully adorned robe like that of a scholars. Compared to Lan Yingwu, this scribe was more befitting the image of a civil servant.

The mans name was Wen Ce, the number one counselor and steward in the governors manor. Back when Lan Yingwu was still in the military, this Wen Ce also served as the main strategist for the general.

'Father, mother is right about you having a wine nose. I can't hide a single drop of wine from you.'

Yet who would've guessed the fragrant aroma of the monkey wine would be so intense that she couldn't hide it even if she wanted to.

Seeing his daughter bringing out a wine jar and put it on the table, Lan Yingwu couldn't wait to pull out his wine cups from within his sleeves. Lingyue sweatdropped at the sight with comical flyaway hairs. Seeing her father even had had the cups ready beforehand, Lan Cai'er wanted to both laugh and get angry at her fathers demeanor.

Smooth down the throat, then burning in the belly like an ignited flame, both men can only think of one phrase: Great wine and they felt incredibly good with a good yuan energy kick!

These two elders have been soldiers for many years, what good wine have they not tried? One sip down and they can tell the intensity and taste of this brew was of the finest quality.

'Daughter, hurry and tell your papa where you found this wine.' Lan Yingwu couldn't keep his beaming eyes from the wine jar. If he could, he would instantly gobble the entire thing down without pause.

'This new friend I made in Juqilou has some in personal stock!' said Cai'er cheerfully, introducing Lingyue. 'She is Ye Lingyue! She came to town for exploration.'

Lan Yingwu looked at the little fairy next to his daughter. There's no noble with that name in his city but he did know a Ye Huangxuan...

'Ye...are you related to Ye Huangxuan who sells yuan ore here?'

'Yes, he's 5th uncle.' said Lingyue. 'I'm borrowing his house for now as all hotels, inns and apartments are all full for the auction.' Lingyue sighed wearily. 'He won't mind as long as I clean. Grandfather called all uncles home for a family matter.'

That means she's staying without the man's knowing.

They sweatdropped.

'Did you write him a letter?'

'I did as soon as I got dismayed that I can't use public lodgings.'

'Mm. That's good to...' suddenly, the man paused as they felt a throb in his body.

They could feel...chaotic energy?

Lan Yingwu collapsed!

'What the...phoenix-infused water shouldn't cause this! This is supposed to be a pleasure-wine that heals!' Lingyue gasped as she quickly opened the man's robes and used spirit healing to diagnose the man's dantian.

Infusing her spirit smoke into Governor Lan's body, the inner workings of the man reveals itself to them like a canvas. Showing every organ and muscles like they are alive with every movement. The sight made Cai'er shudder.

Aside from the gray element vying for control inside, there's also a brilliant light fighting back. This light most likely had to do with the power from the phoenix light.

'There's two conflicting energies within...' Wen Ce gasped out.

'They say he got an injury five years ago...what kind? That could be the key here.' Lingyue quickly asked the man.

'Back when the governor was still in the military, he had sustained a terrible injury while fighting an evil alchemist from the central plains in one of his battles.' Wen Ce explained shakily. 'No thanks to that, his injury never healed and he was forced to retire!'

Lingyue then took out her bottle of phoenix tears and uncorked the bottle with a POP! She took out a pea-sized amount using Spirit Force and opened the general's mouth and had it go to his stomach...

They heard a howl that certainly didn't belong.

A haze of ashen grey gas appeared out of nowhere and surrounded itself around the golden core. It tried to stay but got kicked out, so to speak.

Arrrrgh! Which foolish youngster dare interrupt my seclusion?! A frightful looking picture of a skull floats out from within the golden core.

Now this was serious indeed, everyone thought. To think the ashen grey mass lurking inside Governor Lans body was in fact the remnant of an evil alchemists soul. Cai'er and Wen Ce were horrified.

'Someone who's more superior than you!' Lingyue said coldly as she used her superior powers to destroy the spirit by crushing it to death, causing a bone-chilling death rattle of the spirit's defeat. 'And now we jump back, something good is coming!' Lingyue grinned. She did NOT miss what general's core looks like. 'With that bastard dead, plus my wine and medicine, he'll get a trial soon!'

'Trial?' Cai'er gasped out.

'Reincarnation Realm!' as of on cue, a dazzling light appeared, followed by the yin-yang symbol and lastly, the pillar of light. The big reason why Lingyue and her mother cultivate far from home!

And since it's about 5:55 now, the sun almost setting...the sudden beam overshadowed everything across the city, illuminating the entire region.

Such big movements would of course not go unnoticed. Rushing out of their homes, all of the inhabitants of the city were abuzz with talks about what's happening at the governors home.

After the appearance of the light pillar, a powerful force gradually began to form at the epicenter, indicating the beginning of the transitioning phase into the new level.

Everyone in the governors mansion, especially Lan Cai'er, Wen Ce and her mother who just came to see what's going on, all knew what this meant. Out of concern and worry, none dared to make a peep at this critical moment.

The big commotion didn't just cover Glass City at this point. As the light pillar grew stronger with each passing minute, even the other cities in the nearby regions were starting to notice the illuminating effects in the sky.

After a full two hours of this, Governor Lan continues to remain in his transitional state of advancement...and soon, his trial came. The Fire Trial.

Swallowed by flames from head to toe, he must overcome the searing heat before he can advance to new heights.

Unable to bear the sight, the governor's wife eventually fainted away due to fright.

Worried for her mothers well-being, Lan Cai'er barked orders. 'Get mother away from here now!' the shaky maids were more than eager to go while carrying away the madam.

Festering with burns and blisters, Governor Lan was beyond recognition like someone thats suffering from being broiled under direct heat. His skin crackles with every miniscule movement. Even for someone like Cai'er whose quite courageous at all times, she's also getting her nerved rattled by the scene. Inexplicably, she grabs onto Lingyue's hand for comfort and assurance.

Feeling a cold sensation seeping into her own from Lingyue's hand, Lan Cai'er found her restless heart calming down a lot. But for a nerve-wracking scene, to her new friend, her reaction is all but said.

'Meh, nothing new.' was what she could read from her face. Has she seen a Reincarnation Realm Master before?

'You'll have no sleep tonight, this thing takes twelve hours.' said Lingyue softly. 'Twelve hours of hell and you must be strong-willed and strong of heart to survive this.' she told the strategist and the shaken daughter. 'But given the man's reputation, he will surely be alright and pass. He will be healed by the pillar of light and body reforged anew worthy of his level.'

'How would you know that?' Wen Ce stammered out.

'It's something a fellow survivor would know.' Lingyue smiled mysteriously, making them feel her true aura without disturbing the governor. This youngster is very powerful! 'And I drew the bad luck from all trials.'

'What did you get?' Cai'er asked with a shiver.

'Lightning and Metal...' and she told them what hell she suffered in those two trials that she wanted to prepare herself more for her third while taking a vacation.

'Oh my god...'

Their emotions were amuck.

This girl, a gifted genius was a level 2 in Reincarnation Realm. And drew horrible luck in her trials that she got the deadliest ones off the bat.

'Only those with strong hearts can do this.' said Lingyue. 'Those with weaker hearts...will die.'

There was indeed, no sleep tonight.
