Author's Note: the last thing I need to do is start a new story, but, I just wanted to get this out there because I am really excited about it. Plus it is outlined completely, so that makes it a lot easier!

This one's for you BreaktheWalls - I know you were anticipating it - thanks for all your support!

This one will have a similar on-screen vibe to the collaboration that I am writing with Kimberly because this was my original idea for the female heel turn that inspired it… however this original idea didn't work when we decided to make it a collaboration. So I decided to keep it and write this one as well. I am going to do my best to stop coming up with and starting new ideas for a while. This one is for all the AEW fans. Enjoy :)

Disclaimer: I do not own anything you recognize. I only own my OC Marley Rose & the general plot. I am in no way affiliated with AEW.

The Judas Effect
New Beginnings

Marley Rose had arrived at the arena for AEW Dynamite half an hour earlier. She had parted ways with her boyfriend, Jon Moxley, and went straight to the women's locker room to prepare for the show. She had crimped her blonde hair before arriving at the arena. They were going to go over their segment for the show so she tried to do some of her beauty regiment at the hotel. After changing into a pair of cargo pants and a black crop top, she applied a coat of black eyeliner around her blue eyes. She added blue eyeshadow and clear lip gloss to complete the look.

After a quick once over in the mirror she left the locker room in search of Jon.

She walked down the hallway in the direction of the men's locker room.

She was surprised when someone grabbed her arm. She spun around to find none other than Executive Vice President Cody standing behind her. "Hey, I was hoping we could talk for a minute?" He smiled at her.

She shrugged her shoulders, "Sure, did I do something wrong?"

"Of course not." He chuckled. "I have a story line proposition for you, if you are interested."

She smiled, "Of course I am interested!"

"Well then, lets go discuss it."

She nodded in agreement and followed him to an empty room where they could talk.

August 2018

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she sat on the front porch of the house she shared with her boyfriend. He was out on one of his morning runs. Usually she joined him but she had received a text from Hunter telling her that he needed to talk to her, so she had remained behind.

Now she wished she had never checked her phone.

She wiped roughly at her eyes when she noticed Jon approaching the house. She cleared her throat and plastered a smile on her face but it was to no avail.

"What's wrong?" He asked immediately, dropping down next to her on the front steps.

"I had a talk with Hunter this morning."

"What did he say?" She could tell by the look on his face he had an inkling.

"I've been released from my contract. They said with the Shield reuniting they don't have any plans for me." She fought back a fresh wave of tears. She had always wanted to be in the WWE. It hurt to know she could be dropped so easily.

"Babe, I'm sorry." He reached for her but she pushed him away.

"I appreciate the gesture - but, it's okay and you're sweaty and disgusting." She gave a half-hearted smile.

"You had your chance at a moment for me to be all sweet and shit. I don't want to hear you complaining. You're the one who turned me down." He shoved her playfully causing her to laugh.

"Come on." She got to her feet and tucked a few stray strands of her blonde hair behind her ears. "I'll make you some breakfast, you goof."

He chuckled and got up. "Yes ma'am." He followed her to the door, "Marley?"

"Yea?"

"Don't worry about it, okay? It's their loss. You are going to sign somewhere else and be amazing."

Marley smiled and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "Thank you Jon. I hope you're right."

April 2019

"To new beginnings." Marley smiled and held up her wine glass.

"To new beginnings." Jon agreed, tapping his beer bottle against her glass of Merlot.

"I am glad you found a new company where you are going to be happy."

"Me too, babe and I'm glad you'll be joining me."

"I was so surprised they offered me a contract. I haven't worked much since my departure from WWE."

"They know talent when they see it" He commented, "Not to mention a hot commodity."

"Oh gee, thanks."

"What? Not my fault you're sexy." He smirked and took a gulp of his beer. "I'm one lucky man."

"Yea, lucky I put up with you." She took a sip of her wine.

"You put up with me because you love me."

"Now that is the truth." She smiled and sat her wine glass on the table before leaning in to give him a kiss.

She giggled when he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her onto his lap. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they kissed.

It had been one hell of a year for them but, now, things were finally starting to look up.

"What is this story line you have for me?" Marley asked. She was surprised Jon wasn't with her. They had signed with the company and she had been working alongside her real life boyfriend for her entire time with the company.

"How do you feel about a heel turn?" Cody inquired.

"A heel turn? Really?" The idea piqued her interest. She hadn't hadn't been given much of a chance to play the heel in WWE.. She had enjoyed her short stint as a heel. It was completely different from her real life personality and she had made it fun playing the part. "I didn't get any vibes about Jon turning heel? Are you planning on putting him in the Inner Circle after all?"

"Not Jon.. Just you. We want you to turn on Jon and join The Inner Circle."

The blonde frowned and tapped her fingernails on the table in front of her. She had worked closely with Chris Jericho before in the WWE and the history between the two was far from checker-free. "Cody, I -"

"It's really okay if you want to say no Marley. I know that you and Jericho have a history and he reminded me of that. It was just an idea we were tossing around. We would never want to put you in a situation you are not comfortable with."

She nodded. She had enjoyed her time working with both Jon and Jericho when they were still in WWE and feuding on Friday Night Smackdown. "How did Chris feel about this?"

"He liked the idea. He knows how good you are on the microphone and how well you were able to intertwine yourself in their last feud even with WWE's restrictions. He said he wanted to see what you can do with a feud between them where you have more freedom."

Marely sighed. She thought the story line sounded very exciting but she was afraid of tension between herself and Jericho. Their relationship had ended poorly and even though she was happy with Jon and didn't hold any grudges against her ex - she was nervous their might be tension if they were forced to spend so much time together.

"I am so tempted to say yes."

"I can tell you right now Chris is more than capable of remaining professional. He is a professional and so are you. So I wouldn't worry about your past."

Marley nodded her head, "You're right. I am probably worrying over nothing. This is a good opportunity to stand out on my own. I really shouldn't turn that down." Marley had spent the majority of her career linked to Dean Ambrose, then later Jon Moxley. She didn't mind the idea. She loved her boyfriend and was proud of him and proud to be associated with him but, this would give her an opportunity to shine on her own. "I love Jon and I love working with him but it might be nice to do something on my own."

"So is that a yes?" Cody smiled triumphantly.

"You know it is."

Hope you enjoyed thee first chapter :)
