Chapter 3: Uchiha Brother's Reunion
Giyu's eyes were wide, his face pale and sweaty as his hands trembled. He would have collapsed onto the floor if not for Urokodaki quickly supporting him.
"Maybe this is why I'm being punished in this lifetime?.." Giyu's family had been slain by demons, and he was powerless to stop it. Maybe this is his punishment, the price for all the atrocities that he commited in his past life.
The rest of the humans were silent, not really knowing what to say. Tanjiro was about to speak up but a voice did before he could.
"Tomioka-san." A recognizable gentle voice spoke out. Giyu kept his head down, so sure that the words he would hear would be unsavory.
"Go on, tell me how much of a monster I am." Giyu thought bitterly.
"Remember what you said earlier? About Itachi nothing but a relic of the past? You said it yourself, he is not you. He is just someone who lived a long time ago." Shinobu said with a kind smile, surprising everyone including the Water Hashira. "So you're not accountable for his actions."
Giyu was silent, staring at the Insect Hashira as if she has grown a second head. But the gratitude in his eyes were unmistakable.
"This can't be real!" Sasuke screamed, still in denial. "You can't be my brother! Because…" The young boy choked on his words, unable to complete it.
"That is cruel…" Mitsuri's heart goes out to Sasuke. As the Love Hashira, she is the one who is most attuned to emotions, thus seeing Sasuke break like this is like breaking her own heart as well.
Sanemi's normally brash attitude gone, as he looked at the scene in pity. "It seems that even in world without demons, there are people much worse."
"I acted as the big brother you desired, in order to measure your capacity." Itachi replied without a hint of remorse. Sasuke just stared in shock, unable to believe that the loving brother he had was nothing but an act.
"Just for that…" Tanjiro could not comprehend how someone could be twisted like this. For Tanjiro, his family meant everything, and for a family member to do just that, just like what Muzan did. The thought filled him with anger. Nezuko, sensing his older brother's thoughts, leaned to his side, lightly hugging him as to ease him down.
Inosuke was fuming, steam coming out from the holes in his boar mask. "Why that bastard!" He hissed venomously.
Giyu was still silent, clenching his fists in anger at hearing the reasoning behind Itachi's betrayal. "Itachi… How could you do this?.."
The rest of the humans were disrupted from their thoughts when a chuckle was heard.
It was Muzan, with his arms crossed, watching the scenes with a glint in his eyes. "Spoken like a true demon!" He declared, making the humans glare at him. "Why, if he exists in this current era, I would have turned him into a demon in a heartbeat. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be the most powerful of the Kizuki." He declared, imagining all the possibilities a demon with a Sharingan can do.
"You bastard!" Inosuke was the most vocal with his reaction, drawing his twin swords and was about to charge at Muzan, if it weren't for a heavy hand to grip his shoulder tight.
"Calm down boar-head." A voice growled behind Inosuke. It was Sanemi, who stopped the reckless action, his voice not settling for any argument.
"This is Ironic." The white haired Hashira thought. "An hour ago, it was me in this boar-head's position."
The rest of the Hashira held their tongue, knowing that attacking the demon would not do them any good right now.
"For the life of me, I don't understand why Otsutsuki won't just finish him off." Shinobu's vindicative thoughts unfortunately will never be heard in fear of offending the pale eyed man. Shiki however, noticing someone's gaze on him only smirked knowingly at her, surprising the Insect Hashira. "Don't tell me he can read minds?!"
"You will become a rival that I require in order to test my capacity. You have that potential." The killer's eyes gleamed with a bit of intensity.
"You have been jealous of me, and you have hated me. You continuously aimed to surpass me. Because of that, I will allow you to live for my sake. You are also capable of awakening the Mangekyou Sharingan, just as I have."
"Wait, so almost every Uchiha can achieve the same eyes as he did?" Shinobu was overwhelmed at the thought. A whole clan of people capable of what Itachi can do. With that they might be able to conquer the entire japan by themselves.
"The question is, if they can how come we only see Itachi with it?" Giyu was confused, if that power was capable of awakening between anyone in the clan, then it would make sense if a number of Uchihas have it.
The thought of having the same power as his brother played within young Sasuke's head. But before he could say anything, Itachi continued.
"However, there is a requirement." The wind shifted, making Sasuke shiver. "You must kill your closest friend. Just as I have."
"And there you have your answer." Urokodaki stated sternly. "There is a price for power and unfortunately, it is steep."
"Kill your closest friend…" Mitsuri could not help but compare the Itachi she first saw to the Itachi standing before them now.
The Water Hashira couldn't bear to hear anymore, but he knew deep in himself that he has to see this to the end. If only to ease his feelings on the matter.
Sasuke was horrified at the terrible price for power.
"Then you're… You're the one who killed Shisui-san?" Sasuke's voice trembled at the realization that it was Itachi who killed Shisui.
"Thanks to him, I have obtained this eye." Itachi's expression turned into a twisted smile. "If you open your eyes to the truth, including myself, there will be three people who can use the Mangekyou Sharingan." A chuckle escaped his lips. "Then there will be a reason in letting you live."
"So Itachi didn't want to kill young Sasuke because he has no worth in his eyes." Urokodaki deduced. Mentally wondering how big of a shift Itachi's behavior from the previous days to this. "I know there is something that I am missing.
Tanjiro's face darkened. "So this is the reason you spared your brother. So that you can satisfy your hunger for power." His gaze landed on Nezuko who was clutching his arm, eyes narrowing in determination. "I won't let anyone harm you Nezuko." Nezuko, as if sensing his thoughts buried her face onto his arm, with Tanjiro petting her hair.
Itachi shifted his foot, making Sasuke stumble back in fear. Itachi shook his head in disappointment. "Killing you as you are now would simply be a wasted effort."
The rest of the humans were silent, not really knowing what to say. Giyu in particular glared venomously at Itachi, clenching his fists in hate.
"Do not worry Tomioka-san." Shinobu broke the silence. "I am confident that he will be put to justice." The Insect Hashira does not hate many things aside from her burning abhorrence against demons, but Itachi just set the new bar for that.
Giyu was appreciative for the assurance, it served to calm him down if only slightly.
The scene shifted, with Sasuke now much older, with his own set of Sharingan activated as he walks to where his brother is.
"Sasuke-san grew up to be quite dashing isn't he?" Mitsuri commented, and the humans were able to see her point. This Sasuke was a far cry from the helpless child he once was.
Sasuke is wearing a black robe covering his body, and a set of bandages on his forehead.
"Foolish little brother..." The voice in his head played.
"If you wish to kill me, then hate me, detest me, and live a long unsightly life. Run and keep running, cling to your pathetic life. And one day, when you bear the same eyes as mine, come before me."
The image of Itachi's haunting visage on the fateful night that has plagued his nightmares for years. It was finally time to avenge his clan.
Itachi's words sent a chill down the demon slayers' spine. Their view of Itachi couldn't get any lower. Purposely taunting your brother like that after killing your entire family.
Itachi opened his eyes as a figure appeared in front of him.
"Well, it looks like you are finally going to see some action, just like you wanted Sanemi." Kyojuro said, eyeing the Wind Hashira watching the scene intently.
"Yeah, now we will see if they live up to the hype." Sanemi grunted, while the rest of them silently agreed with him. So far they've only seen glimpses of their skill, with this they will be able to see how they measure up.
"What do you see with that Sharingan of yours?"
"What do I see?" Sasuke said with confidence. "With these eyes of mine, there is one thing I can see clearly." The younger brother stared directly at Itachi's eyes, declaring his intent with assurance.
"Itachi, I see your death."
"Well, it seems that Sasuke-san is confident." Shinobu could see the confidence in Sasuke's eyes. This wasn't just false bravado.
Itachi was silent as he took a deep breath. "My death?"
Sasuke narrowed his eyes, tensing his body in preparation.
"Well then." Within a blink of an eye, Itachi was already behind Sasuke. "Try to make it happen."
"Fast!" All of them thought at the same time. The distance between Sasuke and Itachi at that moment wasn't so far but to be able to cross the distance within a second was still impressive.
Muzan narrowed his eyes in interest. "While that show of speed isn't new to me, the fact that a human is this fast is still interesting. I myself could go faster than that."
A smile formed in Sasuke lips, as both he and Itachi spun around at the same time blocking each other's arm.
"He saw it coming after all." Giyu mentioned, noticing the smile on Sasuke's lips.
Itachi quickly shifted, a kunai in his hand as he attempts to directly stab Sasuke. Sasuke however saw this coming and quickly unsheathed his blade with his free hand. Blocking the tip of the kunai with the broad side of his sword, making the metal creak against each other.
"Amazing…" Tanjiro muttered, in awe at the fight he was currently seeing. While Itachi's speed is ridiculous, Sasuke isn't far behind either.
"It is amazing that they can fight like this without using any breathing technique." Shinobu said, fixated on the fight.
"Maybe they use something different? Like this Chakra that Otsutsuki-san mentioned?" Kyojuro added his observation, making the rest of the demon slayers turn on him.
"What do you mean?" The Wind Hashira asked curiously.
"Just watch, I have a feeling that we will see a glimpse of it soon. Now let us watch what Itachi will do."
Itachi silently appraised his brother's skill as he quickly shifted his stance, taking hold of Sasuke's right arm locking it between his own two as he attempts to kick. Sasuke blocked the blow with his blade, but Itachi nimbly used it as a foothold and jumped, using his other leg for a kick which landed as it caught Sasuke off guard.
"Incredible!" Mitsuri was wide eyed at the unexpected move. While fighting at close quarters isn't anything new to her, this level of fighting is something she is not capable of, relying on her sword and breathing technique to keep with enemies. Sure she is physically strong, and could replicate Itachi's moves, but in an actual death battle like this her mind wouldn't be able to keep up at all.
Sasuke stumbled back, his eyes wide in surprise as he tries to quickly control the battle to his favor.
An airborne Itachi saw a slash coming as he flips his body out of harms way before quickly grabbing hold of Sasuke's cloak, spinning him around and slamming him to the floor with one hand.
"Even at that position?!" Kyojuro was in awe. Even he wasn't sure he would be able to dodge that one in time.
"The move itself is nothing really impressive if you manage to replicate it." Urokodaki started to explain. "It is the speed of the exchange, that makes it really incredible."
Sasuke grunted in pain, as he rolled backwards. His sword flew to the ceiling from the unexpected maneuver. He quickly recovers as he knelt down, his eyes set on Itachi looking at him impassively.
Stringing together a quick set of hand seals. "Chidori!" Lightning started to form in his hands, rushing towards Itachi, wondering why he would attempt such a straightforward move.
"And there it is." Shiki stated with a grin. He finally found a glimpse of what he is looking at. A physical manifestation of chakra.
"Lightning?!" Zenitsu gasped in shock. His reaction was shared by the others including Muzan.
"To think that the people of this era is capable of using the elements as easily as that." Urokodaki muttered, his hands beneath his chin.
"Eh? What's the matter?" Inosuke asked. "Isn't this what you usually do? Gonpachiro? Monitsu?"
"Not really." Urokodaki started to explain. "It is true that our swordsmanship are based on elements but in order for us to do that, we have to rely on our breathing technique. For example whenever I use my Water Breathing style, I use the element of water to visualize my attack but the water is not the main attack, the slash is. We cannot directly control elements like Sasuke-san did."
"That is what I was talking about earlier." Shiki stated, catching the attention of everyone. "That is what chakra is."
"You mean to tell me that humans in this timeline are able to command elements as long as they have this chakra?" Shinobu asked incredulously. "That means everyone of them can do what Sasuke-san is doing?!" No words were able to convey her jealousy, to be able to use elemental techniques along with her breathing style would be a tremendous advantage against the demons.
"Yes that's right. Anyone capable of using chakra can do that, not necessarily the exact same thing that Sasuke is doing right now, but something similar as well." Shiki helpfully explained.
Muzan's eyes widened in glee. "So much potential! The humans of this era are wonderful!" The demon was ecstatic to see more from the humans of this generations, while they lack the regeneration the demons have, they make up for it by wielding unusual skills.
"With this, Sasuke-san will take the victory right?" Zenitsu asked, looking at the deadly lightning in Sasuke's hands.
"I'm not so sure about that." It was Sanemi who replied. "Look at Itachi." The rest of the audience including Muzan did. "He isn't even fazed at all, I'm sure something like this won't take him down."
"I never knew Shinazugawa-san was this smart and perceptive!" The Love Hashira gushed in her thoughts. She was used Sanemi being brash and hot-headed but she wasn't expecting this kind of insight from him.
"I wonder how our fight with the demons would go with people like them around." The Flame Hashira mused. "I wonder if they can use fire."
Only for Sasuke to slam his lightning coated hands to the floor. "Chidori Nagashi!" Electricity scattered to the floor making its way towards Itachi who quickly jumps, attempting to create some distance between him and the deadly technique only for him to look up in surprise, seeing Sasuke infront of him in a vertical position, standing on the ceiling with the blade already clutched in his hand.
"It spread?" Urokodaki was impressed at the ingenious way of using lighting. "I thought it was limited to just piercing, the way young Sasuke held it earlier."
"It appears that there is more to these elemental techniques than meets the eye. The possibilities are endless." Tanjiro wondered if that if he could use actual water techniques, would it be something as similar as this.
"I wish I can use lightning like that too." Zenitsu was looked in envy at the way Sasuke was using lightning. He can only incorporate lighting into his breathing techniques and he even has to be unconscious to do it.
"I am more interested as to how Sasuke-san is sticking into the ceiling." Mitsuri commented, wondering how someone could stick into vertical surfaces like that.
"It is because of Chakra." Shiki could actually see the chakra generating from Sasuke's feet. "Unlike you all, I can see it, and he is using it on his feet to stick into the ceiling.
The audience noticed veins protruding from the sides of Shiki's eyes. No one dared to ask what it was, aside from a certain boar headed teen.
"What is wrong with your eyes?" Inosuke asked crudely, making the humans glare at him in panic. Zenitsu rushed in to choke Inosuke from behind with his arms but it was too late.
"It's called Byakugan." Shiki answered surprisingly unoffended. "One of the functions of this eyes is to see energy or chakra. But that is all I'm going to tell you for now.
The demon slayer's sighed in relief before Sanemi without a word, smacked Inosuke's head. Making the the boar headed teen scowl behind the mask.
"Hey what's the big id-" His retort was cut short when Sanemi's face morphed into a scary glare, enough to cow Inosuke into submission.
Sasuke smirks in victory as he dislodged the blade from the ceiling, quickly plunging it into Itachi's chest, making both of them fall as Sasuke pinned him to the floor with his blade.
"You've… gotten stronger." Itachi spoke weakly, blood escaping his lips.
"In the end Itachi, there is something I want to ask you." Sasuke pushed the blade, making it dug to the ground even further.
Itachi said nothing, as he weakly reached up with his hand, forming two fingers pointing at Sasuke's face before turning to the right. Sasuke quickly looked up to where the fingers were pointing, only to see Mangekyou Sharingan wielder still seated at the throne.
"What the hell is happening?!" Sanemi blurted out in shock, seeing another Itachi unharmed sitting casually.
The rest of the audience share the same disbelief. They clearly saw Itachi getting stabbed by Sasuke, there is no way it could be faked.
"What is going on here?!" Giyu has no idea what Itachi just did, to be able to get away from that fatal blow without a scratch. "His body is still in there how could this be possible?!"
Sasuke looked back at the body his blade currently was stabbed into, only for it to turn into a murder of crows.
"Crows?" Mitsuri wondered how Itachi can weaponize crows. Something like this is unheard off. The Hashira mainly used crows for communication, but something Itachi did is virtually impossible for any of them to do.
"I see you have yet to run out of tricks." Sasuke remarked scornfully.
"What you do you want to know? It's not over yet, but I'll listen." Itachi, confident with his abilities, spoke.
The avenger's eyes narrowed, glaring at his brother's eyes. "I'll say it once more."
A blade suddenly protrudes into Itachi's chest from behind, his eyes wide in disbelief. It was Sasuke, who was holding the blade from behind, the one in front of Itachi dissolving into a pile of snakes.
"He got him?!" Inosuke cried out in surprise. "But how?"
"At this point, all we can do is watch. If we keep on asking questions we would just keep on asking for more." Tanjiro declared, eyes glued at the scene.
"Genjutsu…" Itachi uttered weakly, blood dribbling from the sides of his mouth.
"Looks like the tables have turned." Giyu stated impassively, but Shinobu did not miss the impressed tone from his voice.
"I told you that there's still something I want to ask you in the end, you fucking bastard." The younger brother spoke hatefully as he tilted the blade, pain flaring in Itachi's chest. "The pain in your chest won't subside until you give me a proper answer."
"So you purposely avoided piercing a critical area…"
"Why is he not directly killing him?" Inosuke scratched his boar mask in confusion.
"Because he has some questions unanswered and to be honest, there are a lot of things that do not match in the night of the murder." It was Kyojuro who answered, his hands rubbing his chin in thought.
"Back then, you said…"
"If you open your eyes to the truth, including myself, there will be three people who can use the Mangekyou Sharingan."
"Only three people ever had the Mangekyo?" Urokodaki wondered how a clan who probably existed for quite some time only had few wielders of the evolved eyes. The clan certainly wasn't lacking in numbers.
"Who's the other Mangekyou wielder of the Uchiha clan?"
"Why would you want to know?"
"After I kill you, he's next on the list. That's why."
"Well, Sasuke-san certainly isn't lacking confidence." Mitsuri commented. With the rest of the humans still in awe at the exchange between the brothers
Itachi's eyes flickered weakly. "Kill him?"
"On the night of the massacre, you told me there was a third person. There was another member of the Uchiha clan who you didn't kill, which means they helped you massacre them. Even you wouldn't be able to take out the entire Police Force alone.
"That makes sense. Itachi at that point was still 13 years old. Even he couldn't kill every Uchiha especially if they possess the Sharingan." The masked Hashira was sure that there was an accomplice.
"I think I get why the Uchiha's are in the police force." The Insect Hashira added. "Their eyes sets them apart from any regular ninja, so far we already know the Sharingan could perceive things slowly so it makes sense they are send out for recon."
The rest of the audience silently agreed.
"It seems as though you've figured it out." Itachi let out a smile.
"Who is it?" Sasuke demanded. Itachi was silent, which served to infuriate Sasuke even more as he pushed the blade further, blood dripping from the tip.
"Uchiha Madara."
Sasuke's eyes trembled in shock. "Uchiha… Madara.."
"The way Sasuke-san muttered the name, this Madara could be someone significant and powerful." Tanjiro said, his mind deep in thought.
"Madara…" Giyu tested the words on his lips, catching the attention of the rest. "You could only wonder how one name could have this much of a reaction on someone with Sasuke's caliber."
"One of Konoha's founding members. And the first person to ever awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan."
"If it really was Madara, then he would've been dead a long time ago. Are you mocking me?!" Sasuke yelled furiously.
"Madara is alive." Itachi simply said. "Whether you believe me or not is up to you."
"If Sasuke is adamant that this Madara person is dead, then that means it probably has been decades or centuries that this man existed." The Water Hashira could not remember a human living that long.
"You'd be surprised, if a human is powerful enough could even reach a hundred years old and still retain his skills and power. Although it is very rare." Urokodaki voiced his thoughts.
"Stop messing around!"
"People live their lives bound by what they see as right or true. That's what they call reality. However right and true are nothing but vague terms."
Itachi kept speaking, not minding the pain from the blade stabbed into his chest.
"Their reality could turn out to be an illusion. Everyone is living by their own assumptions. Wouldn't you agree?"
Urokodaki narrowed his eyes at the strange wording. He is definitely sure something is amiss. It was hard for Giyu to read the man's expression with the mask constantly on his master's face but spending years with him, he knew something is bothering the masked Hashira at the moment.
"Just what are you getting at?!" Sasuke snapped irritably. Itachi just let a smile of amusement.
"Madara being dead was your own convenient assumption. And you were once under the impression that I was a caring older brother."
Flashes of Itachi during their younger days played in Sasuke's mind. How he was deceived by the act.
"I continuously pretended to be the brother that you wished for… In order to measure your capacity." Itachi finished.
Giyu clenched his teeth, once again reminded of how much of a monster Itachi was.
Tanjiro still couldn't wrap his head as to how Itachi could be so cruel, to not only kill their entire family but also to rub it in Sasuke's face.
"On that night it happened, I was so young that I had to pretend it was just a nightmare." Sasuke hand trembled at the handle of his blade. "I wanted to believe that it was all just a horrible genjutsu, but there was no mistaking that it was reality!"
Sasuke roared, turning around as electricity surged in his hands, forming a spear as it stabbed towards the real Itachi, missing his head by a few margin.
"What the…" It was Shinobu this time, unable to hide the confusion and shock as the rest of the audience.
"Just how many copies can Itachi-san do?" This was all confusing for Mitsuri, who prefers a direct approach in combat.
"I don't think it's a copy. Probably another illusion that Itachi can do. We all know that a Sharingan has illusory abilities." Giyu deduced rationally from what limited they have seen.
"This guy is really a pain to fight against huh?" Sanemi mused, irritated at the thought of facing this man.
"It can turn into a spear?!" Zenitsu gaped in awe, almost burning in jealousy.
"The command of elements these ninjas have is astonishing." Kyojuro commented, seeing how Sasuke is manipulating lightning to this level. "Are all humans of these era capable of this?"
"My eyes are different from how they used to be! This Sharingan of mine can see through your genjutsu!" He declared, the chirping of electricity filling the room as Itachi stared down at him impassively.
"You still like to talk big." Itachi scoffed, unfazed at the deadly electric blade inches from his face. "Then again, I suppose they're more than just big words this time." The Itachi stabbed by Sasuke fading like a mirage.
"Damn right!" Inosuke suddenly yelled. "Basuke is definitely gonna take you down." The boar-headed teen truly understood Sasuke's side, and seeing him get his justice would be satisfying.
"I wouldn't celebrate just yet." Sanemi grunted out. "Look, the bastard doesn't even give a shit."
"Is the gap in their power still that great that Itachi is this confident?" The Love Hashira wondered, Sasuke obviously trained his entire life after that incident there is no way he's challenging Itachi if he still wasn't strong enough.
"There is only one way to find out." With that, Sanemi's attention returned to the scene.
"So does that mean that you're finished playing around these little games?" Sasuke demanded, dispersing the technique.
"You're certainly strong., but you still lack the same eyes as I." Itachi said blankly. "So you couldn't kill your closest friend could you? You'd still come before me with such naïve heart?"
"It's good to know that while Sasuke-san held on to his revenge, he never resorted to something so heinous." Shinobu said in relief.
"That just proves that while he has the potential to surpass his older brother, he will never lose sight of his humanity, unlike what Itachi has become." Giyu's face darkened, silently wishing that Sasuke will avenge their family and finally put down Itachi.
"Well then, lets see you use that Mangekyou Sharingan of yours to kill me. Unless you find my strength too much to test your capacity on." Sasuke challenged confidently.
Itachi let out a sigh of disappointment as he stood up from the throne. "You're certainly confident."
Unbeknownst to both of them, a certain man melded into the walls, perfectly masking his chakra was watching. With face half black and white. "They haven't moved from their spots at all." The white half muttered. "They're fighting using genjutsu alone." The black half replied.
"Is that a demon?!" Zenitsu shakily pointed at the strange aloe-like creature. Muzan leaned in interest, finally finding a demon in this era.
"Why can't they sense him?" Sanemi thought it was strange that a Sharingan couldn't sense the demon in the wall. "I thought Sharingan could see everything?"
"That's not entirely true." Shiki who was content in watching everything finally replied. "From what I have seen so far, the Sharingan might give one incredible perception, but that strange creature is perfectly masking its presence. Tell me." The Otsutsuki asked. "How can you categorize demons?"
"Demons burn in the sunlight." It was Muzan who surprisingly replied, earning strange/hostile looks from the humans.
"So what you're saying is even if you have the attributes that a normal human do not have, and you don't burn in sunlight, you're not a demon?" The pale man was surprised at the notion. Such a specific and convenient weakness to have.
"So there are demons in this timeline as well?" Urokodaki never saw such a strange demon before, with both faces having different consciousness and was able to blend into the surroundings perfectly. A skilled demon slayer have enhanced senses, in order to sniff out demons no matter how good they hide, for this demon to hide right in front of two Sharingan wielders is worrying.
"Mangekyou Sharingan. These eyes are very unique." The older brother started. "From the first moment you awaken them, a slow descent into darkness begins. The more you use them, the more it takes its toll."
"What are you talking about?"
"The Mangekyou will eventually lose its light."
"A loss of sight then?" Sasuke said disdainly. "So that is the price you pay for this power?"
"Definitely not worth the blindness if you ask me." Kyojuro stated disdainfully. An incredible power with the price of your sight? No thanks, he is comfortable with what he has right now.
"It would only make sense that a power like this has a terrible cost." The Insect Hashira already figured out there is more to the price of such power but she did not see this coming. "You'd have to wonder, a man as intelligent as Itachi-san is, why would he risk blindness for this?"
"You are right, that means he has something else planned for all of this." With that, they returned to the scene.
"You are right." Itachi replied. "It wouldn't matter eventually." He finished in a cryptic tone.
"Who the hell is Madara?" Sasuke demanded.
"He's an immortal man, my accomplice and my mentor." Itachi replied simply, slowly making his way towards Sasuke who grit his teeth.
"Immortal? Was there ever a human immortal?" Giyu could not believe his ears at the notion.
"There was no recorded history of this ever happening. It's either they reach an extremely old age or they become demons." Shinobu gravely said, anxious at the thought that a human could achieve immortality.
"So this man is not old, but an immortal like a demon." The very thought was disturbing.
"A man that is immortal…" The demon mused, still finding the thought ridiculous. There is no logical way a human could be immortal.
"He is also the the only man to unravel the final secrets of the Mangekyou Sharingan. That is, Uchiha Madara."
A face appeared in the scene, of a man with striking resemblance to both Sasuke and Itachi. With long hair and activated Sharingan eyes, a look of disdain in his face.
"The Mangekyou Sharingan's final secret?" Sasuke asked with doubt. "There is even a greater form beyond the Mangekyou?"
"The power to tame the Kyuubi…" Sasuke started tentatively.
"Kyuubi?!" The slayers gasped in shock as did Muzan. Legends say that even before the existence of the first demon, a tale of a beast with 9 tails roamed the lands. With enough power to change the landscape with nothing but a mere breath.
"The Kyuubi does exist?" Tanjiro could hardly believe it. He always thought of it as nothing but a myth. A story that parents would tell their children to behave or the Kyuubi will eat them.
"I don't understand, what's this Kyuubi?" Inosuke cluelessly asked, making the rest of the audience look at him in bewilderment.
"How could you not know that?" Mitsuri couldn't believe someone was not aware of the story passed on from generations to generations.
"Inosuke was raised by boars so it makes sense he wouldn't know." With that, everything about Inosuke suddenly makes sense.
"I am more concerned by these eyes capable of taming the damn Kyuubi." Sanemi was still in shock and a little in denial. He could buy that the Kyuubi did exist at some point but to tame it?
"There are some strange things that exist back then that would not make sense at this current age." Urokodaki wisely replied.
"The power to tame the Kyuubi?!" Muzan's thoughts were a storm. "There is no such thing that is impossible!"
"Is there anything else besides that?"
"Indeed." Itachi simply replied. "There is one more secret, and it is of most importance."
"An important secret? What is it?" Itachi remained silent, narrowing his eyes as his vision blurs, Sasuke barely visible.
This went unnoticed by anyone barring Urokodaki, who narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
"What is it? Answer me!" Sasuke impatiently continued.
"It is a story from long ago. A story about the Uchiha clan." Itachi started. "Also, Madara had a brother. A younger brother." The scenery warped, signifying that Sasuke was in a Genjutsu however he made no move of dispelling it, instead walked over to the side where he heard the familiar sound of sparring.
It was two Uchiha he did not recognize.
"Uchiha and his younger brother. From the time they were young, they always compete with each other to see who was stronger."
An image of both Madara and Izuna appeared in their teenage state.
"I know that they are within the same clan and all, but it's a little weird that they share the same traits. It is as if they've only…" The Love Hashira trailed off, realization sinking in.
"What is it? Spill it out." Sanemi impatiently grunted.
"Incest." Mitsuri replied flatly.
"Incest? What about Incest-oh..." It didn't take long for Sanemi to understand the point, as well as the other humans.
"You do know back then, incest was completely normal, in order to keep the royal bloodline pure." The Masked Hashira had contact with the Royal Family before they had gone into hiding, afraid of the demon infestation.
"So it would be normal back then if these two marry?" The Wind Hashira bluntly asked, pointing at Nezuko and Tanjiro making their faces go green at the thought.
"Then they killed the ones closest to them, and they both obtained the Mangekyou Sharingan."
"The apple truly does not fall far from the tree." Urokodaki commented. Horrendous secrets of the clan keep on revealing itself out.
Sasuke witnessed how brothers slaughtered fellow clansmen, all for the bid for power.
"And with the power of their eyes, they both took control over the Uchiha, and the elder Madara became the clan's leader."
"Its crazy how a pair of eyeballs could grant someone such power." Sanemi witnessed firsthand how dangerous someone like Itachi is, and if anyone god forbid a demon gets their hands on a pair, it would be absolutely disastrous.
"Then, the unexpected happened, as Madara started noticing started noticing strange and frightening abnormalities withing himself. Like I told you, these eyes are special. The more you use them, the faster you will descend into an all-encompassing darkness. This is the fate of all who obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan." Itachi stated ominously.
"In exchange for power, the user ends up sealing his eyes away, forever depriving himself of the light."
The scene showed Madara in his bed, squirming in pain as his brother sits beside him.
"So this is what will eventually happen to Itachi-san." The thought of being blind scared the Love Hashira. Even if all her other senses were intact, the loss of sight will be a huge loss to her fighting skills.
"Madara did everything he could to free himself from the darkness, but all his efforts were in vain. He fell into despair."
Madara weakly reached out to his brother's face.
"And finally, after being possessed by his eyes, he reached out to a new light."
The scene showed Madara, with his two fingers hovering above Izuna's eyes who were wide in shock.
"Forgive me…" Madara's raspy voice called out, plucking out Izuna's eyes.
The humans were aghast, the very thought of Madara stealing his younger brother's eyes are beyond sickening.
"To think such a horrible practice existed." Mitsuri's lips trembled.
"He pulled out both eyes from the head of his younger brother." Sasuke stared at the scene stunned, the blood from Izuna's eyesockets flew to his face.
"He pulled out both eyes from the head of his younger brother. Madara gained a new source of light. This time, his light would never fade again."
The scene shows Madara standing in the midst of the rain, with a robe covering himself. Both of his Mangekyou Sharingan evolved.
"It is a never ending cycle." Urokodaki breathed out. Maybe, just maybe there is a reason why Itachi wanted his entire clan dead, but he wouldn't bring that out just yet. There are too many variables to be reconsidered. And it wouldn't do well to say anything that might stir up Giyu's mentality at the moment.
"It was an eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. By exchanging hosts, the older brother's eyes found a new eternal source of light." Itachi continued, Sasuke own thoughts swirling like a storm.
"It also triggered a change. It gave birth to a completely new eye technique. Obviously, the exchange could only be done between clansmen, and you could not obtain this power by simply gaining another's eyes."
"Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. A powerful pair of eyes that will never go blind." The rest of the audience had to wonder how powerful this Madara is with the eyes that he possess.
"I wonder who will come out on top if you and I fought you interesting human." Muzan finds the idea of Madara to be interesting if a bit laughable. After all, there is no human capable of matching his power. And this Otsutsuki certainly wasn't human.
"Countless sacrifices were made, and this is the truth about the history of our clan."
The scene shifted, to Madara taking control of every major clan he encountered.
"Soon, he formed an alliance with the Senju clan of the forest, who were known as the strongest shinobi clans and formed a new organization."
The scene shifted to Madara meeting the clanhead of the Senju, along with every clan members aligned behind their backs.
"Senju, another name to remember for later. I have a feeling they will be important." Kyojuro stated with the rest of the humans in agreement.
"However, Madara, and the Senju Leader, later known as the First Hokage, began quarreling over how their new village should be run.
The scene showed the internal strife between Madara and the Senju leader, eventually turning against each other.
"Even if the likes of me never existed back then, humans still find ways to destroy each other it is astonishing." Muzan remarked mockingly, his distaste for humans clear.
"You have no room to talk demon." The masked Hashira bit back. "You are the reason why the world is in its current state right now."
"Oh, but you have to understand." The demon smiled knowingly. "Without me or the existence of demons, your precious Hashira would serve no purpose. Just another bunch of mercenaries without anything to show for it. You should be grateful to me." Muzan smugly said, which seemed to infuriate the rest of the humans.
"Well, I take solace in the fact that you are no longer the strongest existence." Shinobu once again with one of her soulless smiles saved for people (demons) she truly hates. "It must hurt your ego that someone got the upper hand on you."
Muzan bit back a snarl, and instead went back to the scene. "It wouldn't be once I gain another form. Then I will finish this Otsutsuki myself."
"Though he lost the power for control, he remains alive and well, as do his eyes and the power they possess."
A strange insignia showed, with red clouds aligned with a white outline. The same insignia that could be seen in Itachi's cloak.
"He formed a new organization, Akatsuki and hit in its shadows."
"So that is the organization Itachi joined." Giyu wondered what the strange symbols in Itachi's robe were, and to know that it was for a secret organization, it couldn't really mean well.
The scene changed to the Kyuubi rampaging in a village with Sharingan eyes.
"A human capable of subduing a demon of that level?!" Muzan stated stupefied. Even though it was a myth (now with its existence confirmed thousands of years ago, it can no longer be called as such), the legends spoke of a nine-tailed beast capable of levelling entire mountains and countries with a flick of its tail.
To know that a human was able to tame such creature was just preposterous "Or maybe the legends of the Kyuubi was all just an exaggeration." The demon's ego persisted, unable to accept the fact that human might be possible stronger than him.
"But the evidence is already in front of you demon scum." Shinobu smirked. The rest of the demon slayer's looked at her, surprised at how fearless she currently was against the strongest demon in existence.
"Well, calling him the strongest isn't really true anymore." Mitsuri thought. Anyone capable of cowing Muzan is automatically the strongest being in existence, period.
"The Kyuubi will wipe you out of existence and if that statement is true that this Madara was able to tame such a powerful being, then he will wipe you out too. Face it, you are an insect compared to them." The Insect Hashira mockingly added, in obvious reference to the floating Otsutsuki who was watching the scene in amusement. "Though calling you an insect would be an insult to actual insects." All this with a cheerful smile and overly cheery voice.
Muzan's claw sharpened as he snarled, almost to the point of attacking Shinobu, making the rest of the demon slayers jolt in preparation before a pointed look from Shiki froze the demon on his tracks.
"I will never forget this, mark my words!" The demon thought furiously as he was once again, forced to submit.
"The attack on Konoha sixteen years ago that was caused by the Kyuubi was the doing of Madara. But his plans were yet again ruined, this time by the Fourth Hokage."
"At this point, I'm done being surprised." Sanemi blankly said. "Just what kind of power is capable of taming the Kyuubi, and for a human to effectively stop it? Who is this Fourth Hokage?"
"I believe we will see in time, Shinazugawa-san." Shinobu replied.
"I refuse to accept this. Maybe this Kyuubi was nothing but a farce!" Muzan's unyielding ego starts to win over his logic.
The Genjutsu lifted, as Itachi began to chuckle.
"In other words, the Madara of today is nothing more than a pathetic shell of his former self."
Sasuke took notice as Itachi's tone took a strange turn.
"He's no longer a man who can hold the title of the strongest among the Uchiha. The only person who can surpass him and achieve true immortality is me!" Itachi declared, clenching his fists as Sasuke narrowed his eyes.
The humans were surprised at the sudden intensity in Itachi's voice, the normal cool-headed person was gone and in his place was a madman.
"And now, I am finally capable of obtaining power far surpassing that of Madara!"
"If he wasn't insane before, then this time I believe Itachi has truly gone to the deep end." Kyojuro noted the madness in Itachi's eyes.
"So in the end, all of this was for the quest for power." The scorn in Giyu's voice could not be hidden as he glared at the image of Itachi.
"Sasuke!" Itachi bellowed, with an insane glint in his eyes. "You will become my new light!"
An apparition appeared behind Itachi, with two sets of eye sockets, one with Itachi's Sharingan eyes, and the other one empty.
"Eeek!" Zenitsu yelped in fright, seeing the strange being materialize from behind Itachi, making him hide behind Inosuke.
"You are my spare!" A tendril of energy from the apparition slowly snaked towards Sasuke.
"So that is the reason why." Shinobu concluded. "He wanted to spare Sasuke-san so he can take his eyes in the future." The information flabbergasted the rest of the humans.
"To think that this is the only reason why Sasuke-san is still alive…" Tanjiro really hoped that Sasuke would finally bring down Itachi for good.
That officially did it, Itachi hit a new low. The demon slayers never thought their views on Itachi could get any lower but here it is.
"For decades, the Uchiha killed their friends to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan, and killed their siblings to make its power permanent!" Itachi raved, spittle coming out from his mouth.
"Our clan was forever tainted because they cannot stop flaunting their own powers! From the moment you were born an Uchiha, you were destined to a life drenched in blood!" The last shred of Itachi's sanity left him as he madly declared. Sasuke stood frozen as the tendril wrapped itself around him restricting his movements.
"Now face me, my little brother!" Itachi challenged. The tendril forming a claw, making its way towards Sasuke's eyes. "Once I kill you and become free from this wretched clan's destiny, and I will finally be transformed!"
"All this in pursuit of power." The Insect Hashira still could not fathom such an act. Itachi had everything she ever wanted, why in God's name would he toss away all of that for something as trivial as power?
"He has lost his mind." Giyu stated, his eyes hardening at seeing Itachi rave like a madman.
"Things like limits and capacities will be forever shattered!"
The kind days when Itachi posed as a loving brother played within Sasuke's mind. Finally declaring within himself that Itachi has gone mad, and all it ever was a cruel act.
"You and I are each other's spare!"
"You continuously aimed to surpass me. Because of that, I will allow you to live for my sake." It all made sense now to Sasuke. Why his brother refused to kill him that night. It was in preparation for this moment.
"This is the bond between brothers of the Uchiha!" The terrifying sensation multiplied, but before the it could worsen, Sasuke broke out of the Genjutsu.
"It seems that illusions isn't really effective against Sasuke anymore." Kyojuro imagined what it would be like if he was in Sasuke's position at the very moment, would he be able to break out of that?
"You have finally gone mad." Sasuke stated, removing the bandages from his forehead and tossing away his cloak.
"It looks like, you can clearly see who I really am now." Itachi thought as he silently prepared himself.
"So it was all for this huh?" Sasuke exhaled, without a trace of fear. He remembered the vow he made when he first registered as a ninja under Kakashi's tutelage.
The scene showed a memory of Sasuke when he was 13. With a masked man with gray hair along with a blonde child and a girl with pink hair.
"Wait, are those Sasuke-san's friends? And one of them even has pink hair like me." Mitsuri pointed out, making everyone wonder how someone could have hair in that shade of pink.
"They are working as Ninjas as unbelievable as it sounds. In fact Itachi was an ANBU operative when he was 11 years old. Pink and blonde hair isn't very stealthy, especially white hair like that man." Kyojuro pointed out.
"Or maybe they are that good that the color of their hair really doesn't affect any stealth abilities they have? I mean the blonde kid has that horrible orange jumpsuit, and its not like the Sasuke and the girl has ninja like outfit either." The wind Hashira thought it was strange for them not dressed, well like a ninja. Like Itachi did. It was just the masked man with gravity defying white hair dressed like one.
"My name is Uchiha Sasuke. There is a lot of things I hate, and I don't like anything in particular." Younger Sasuke stated, with his hands folded in front of his mouth, a dark look in his face. "Also I wouldn't exactly call it a dream, but I do have a certain goal in mind."
"To revive my clan, and without fail, kill a single man."
"So for years, Sasuke-san held onto his hate for his brother, it might be the reason driving him forward." Mitsuri didn't like how Sasuke had these kinds of thoughts for his age, but she could understand. If she were in Sasuke's shoes, she would probably do the same.
"Keep in mind that Sasuke-san was mentally tortured for 72 hours." Shinobu remembered the explanation for Tsukoyomi. "It was a miracle he got out of that unscathed."
Giyu had to disagree, Sasuke was definitely not normal. He could see his hate hidden deep behind those eyes. No child was ever that hateful.
"The moment has finally come…" Present Sasuke started. "Now is the time for me to fulfill my goal!"
"You said you could see my death." Itachi replied, without any hints of the insanity that he showed earlier. "But you cannot win against my Mangekyou Sharingan. I'm sorry but that goal of yours will remain an illusion." Itachi asserted, with full confidence in himself.
Sasuke undid the bandages on his wrist, revealing a sealing pentagram engraved on his cloth bracers.
"You can use your eyes as much as you like, but with just my hatred I will turn that illusion into reality!"
Itachi said nothing in return, wordlessly accepting the challenge.
"Your reality, is death!"
The staredown remained for a few more seconds, before both of them sprung into action, as if reading each other's minds.
Sasuke quickly unsealed two shurikens from his bracers, throwing them towards Itachi with hypersonic speed, with Itachi doing the same.
"Where did that shuriken come from?" Tanjiro couldn't see where Sasuke got it, only a puff of smoke and the weapon was already there. "He doesn't have hidden sleeves does he?"
A clash of iron could be seen as the two brothers relentlessly throw shurikens against each other, sparks and bits of metal flying around from the resonating clash, as if the air is slowly being polluted with iron fillings.
"Where are these shurikens coming from?" Zenitsu was astounded at the rate the two brothers are trying to kill each other.
The rest of the audience were silently watching the scene with equal amounts of astonishment and awe.
"This is humanely impossible." Sanemi muttered, his eyes erratically trying to keep up.
"They're not even moving at all!" Inosuke struggled to keep up, clenching his fists tight in excitement. "They're just throwing those things at each other without trying to defend!"
The two of them eventually ran out of projectiles as they rushed each other, with Sasuke's blade drawn ready for a slash before Itachi took hold of his wrist, Itachi's other hand gripping Sasuke's.
"Look at that." Urokodaki pointed at the shurikens that are still airborne while Itachi and Sasuke are locked tight in a clash.
"What is it that we are actually looking?" Giyu was confused at the outburst, so was the rest of the audience.
"The shurikens they are throwing against each other, they are still airborne, now notice the position Sasuke and Itachi are currently in."
The rest of the demon slayers were still confused, save for Muzan who actually understood the point but kept quiet and decided to observe.
"Wait." Tanjiro started, his eyes widening in realization. "If the shurikens are still there and Itachi-san and Sasuke-san are already against each other…"
This time the rest of the slayers did get it.
"I see, the fact that those projectiles are still floating there and they managed to grapple each other within this moment is a testament to their speed." Kyojuro, was thoroughly impressed. That kind of speed would only be attainable through great effort, and it looks like Sasuke did not disappoint.
No words were needed as the two brothers are in a deadlock, with Itachi's impassive face staring at Sasuke gritting his teeth. Another Itachi suddenly appeared behind the one Sasuke is grappling, with kunai between its fingers ready to be thrown towards Sasuke.
"Eh? Another Itachi appeared?" Sanemi truly wondered what kind of freaky skills the humans of this generations have.
"He managed to form a shadow clone seal in the middle of a fight?!" Sasuke thought furiously as the clone threw the projectiles in a deadly arc.
"Shadow clones, the ninjas of old use similar techniques but it was all deception to throw off the enemy. I never thought I'd actually see someone make a copy of themselves and capable of attacking independently." Urokodaki has fought ninjas before he got into demon slaying business but not of them come close to what they are currently seeing.
Sasuke made no move to dodge or even counter, as the cursed seal in his neck flared and form a lump.
"What is that?!" Zenitsu pointed at the bulge in Sasuke's neck, a bit freaked out as did the other slayers.
Before a snake came out wrapped around Sasuke's head, shielding him from the attack. The snake twirled around Sasuke's neck, making its way to bite Itachi's hand who was forced to let go and took a leap back.
"A snake?!" Mitsuri exclaimed in surprise. As did the rest of the Hashira. She never thought she would see someone else use snakes, also in this strange manner. "I wish Obanai-san is here to see this."
"Maybe…" Kyojuro hummed. "Maybe Sasuke is Obanai's past life as well?" He concluded, trying to connect the dots between the snakes that Sasuke has in connection to Obanai.
"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet." Urokodaki replied. "Look at Itachi and Giyu. Their abilities have no similarities whatsoever yet Itachi is…" He paused, considering Giyu's feelings on the matter.
"It's fine Urokodaki-dono. I have gotten over it already." That wasn't fully true because he is still affected at the fact that he was Itachi, but he couldn't let it affect him forever. And this is the best way to start.
"Well, you get my point. While what you are saying is possible, there is no guarantee just yet."
The Flame Hashira nodded at the logical deduction. Leave it to Tomioka's master to be this wise.
A puff of smoke could be heard, as a large shuriken appeared in Sasuke's hand, spinning dangerously as both Itachi and his clone tensed in preparation.
"I think I see where the shurikens are coming from." Surprisingly, it was Zenitsu who was able to figure out. "See those strange markings in Sasuke's bracers?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Inosuke wondered why a piece of clothing has those unnecessary markings. A clothing or a weapon is as good as it gets.
"Call me crazy but I think the shurikens are coming from there." It was almost impossible yet the proof was in front of their eyes.
"If I can believe that the Kyuubi did exist. I can believe that they can produce or store weapons from those strange marks." Tanjiro concluded, with Nezuko nodding in agreement.
"You have to admit, to be able to store equipment in those things, you don't have to carry all the heavy equipment all the time, you can just let it out from there." Mitsuri tittered excitedly.
Sasuke threw the deadly spinning blade towards the Itachi he grappled with earlier, Itachi unable to dodge because of the incredible speed it was thrown was forced to block with his own kunai.
Itachi noticed that the shuriken was slowly cutting itself through, before seeing a stream of lightning coming from Sasuke's hand, coating the blades of the spinning projectile.
"Chidori?!" Itachi grunted, as the shuriken cut through his kunai and sliced through his flesh, before dispersing as a bunch of crows.
"So he can disperse as crows and use them as clones as well. These ninjas are far cry from the ninjas I've seen."
"Eh? You've seen real ninjas Urokodaki-san?" Tanjiro asked in surprise.
"Yes but you can rarely see them now. When the demon infestation became rampant their skills couldn't help them survive." The masked man replied cryptically.
"Is this still within the works of chakra I wonder." Shinobu wondered. "If we can use chakra as well, does this mean we can also do those?"
"Actually you are already using it." Shiki turned to the Insect Hashira, his eyes glinting knowingly. "Although it is not the same as the people from this era, you are unconsciously doing it already."
"Eh? But we can't do a fraction of what Itachi or Sasuke can do." Sanemi retorted, as politely as anyone like him can get.
"I'll explain later."
"It wasn't the real one?" Sasuke thought in infuriation, as the crows that dispersed earlier making their way towards him.
Without warning, Itachi appeared infront of him.
"What?! He was in front of me the entire time!" Sasuke grunted in pain as he was kicked back into a wall which formed a crater from the impact. He strained himself, trying to stand up as he pointed his finger towards his brother, chirps of electricity forming from the tip of his fingers.
It was different from before when the fight started, they couldn't keep up with the movements at all except for Muzan who barely can. But it hit different when they could clearly see from Sasuke's perspective. Itachi was in their sights at the moment and there was no way for them to miss but they still did.
"Just how fast is he?.." Giyu never thought this kind of speed was possible for a human.
Before he could recover, Itachi blurred, vanishing in imcomprehensible speed even with his Sharingan on, pinned the Chidori covered hand by the wrist and stepping on his foot.
For good measure, Itachi punched Sasuke's gut, which took the wind out of him as he heaved.
"Bastard!" Sasuke panted, unable to voice his thoughts as his brother's kept his left hand restrained on top of his head.
Itachi slowly reached towards Sasuke skull, with two fingers outstretched making Sasuke's eyes widen in horrification.
"Is he gonna do it?!" Mitsuri gasped horrified. The rest of the Hashira were on the edge themselves.
"This can't be it, Basuke was too confident in his skills, there is no way it ends here." The boar headed teen said in denial, unable to accept the outcome.
"Maybe he did fall short." Itachi was a monster, but it was hard to believe that the gap is still this big between the two of them. "Maybe Itachi will really achieve the power he was looking for." Shinobu said grimly.
"This is my reality." Itachi declared victoriously, his fingers squeezing the eye out of Sasuke's socket. "To obtain the light."
Sasuke's horrid scream of pain filled the entire room as Itachi finally plucked out his left eye.
Author's Note: So yeah, it has been a while and I apologize for that. Turns out, writing reactions for Itachi's part and fight scenes are harder than I thought so it was either I publish a halfassed chapter or do some research (reading reaction fics). So I did what I had to do. Maybe 1 or 2 chapters before Itachi's part is done. There will be an Itachi Phase two which will cover up the truth but before that happens I'm gonna cover another one. Also, the reason why the Hashira's have most of the reactions is that they are directly involved with Giyu so it would make sense.
I also have a bad case of OCD, I kept on rewriting or adding some reactions because I feel they aren't enough.
And, not every Naruto character would be a past life like Itachi, some would be a direct ancestor. Helpful feedback are greatly appreciated.
