Alex walked out of the school doors to see Ace parked out front. He'd obviously been waiting a while because his head hung back against the seat as his sunglasses hung slanted off the side of his face.

"Guess I'll leave you to it" Chris mumbled hastily walking off. Alex walked to the car slipping into the passenger seat and slamming the door shut. Ace jumped out of his seat disoriented and confused.

"Been out here for an hour!" He groaned.

"Shut up Ace we both know you took a nap out here" she joked "plus can't help having detention"

She didn't bother asking where they were going and before she knew it she was at the diner. She saw Eyeball and her brother seated by the window in a booth and by the looks of things Vince was pissed.

"You told him?" Alex asked biting her lip and looking up at Ace, he half smiled lighting another cigarette.

"Well, not exactly" he smirked "I tried to but you were right word travels fast. Eyeball called me saying he was out here losing his shit and i reckoned the two of us could smooth things over."

Things were clearly not going to be that easy from the second they entered Vince went flying at Ace pushing him back onto the street.

"My little fucking sister, you bastards" he spat pushing him again.

"Cool it Vince it's not what it looks like"

"You done fucking every other girl in this shitty town so now you have to try it on with my sister! How long till you get bored of her and throw her to the curb like you d every other girl?"

Ace lowered his voice to a growl "It's not like that"

"Then what is it? I know you Ace and I'm not letting you hurt my sister!"

"Get inside Lex"

"I'm not going anywhere" she looked between her brother and Ace, their grips on each others shirts grew tighter as their eyes blazed with anger.

"Lex. Get inside now." his eyes were fierce and close to black she slumped inside. She kept watch through the window desperately trying to decipher their words.

"You could have any girl in this town and you chose her, why?" Vince asked staring Ace straight in the eyes. Ace didn't know how to answer, he chose his words carefully structuring the sentence in his head. He caught a glimpse of Alex through the window as she watched intensley. He loosened his grip letting Vince's shirt hang taking a step back away from the anger and the fight.

"I've had every girl in this town but none of them are like her. She is not another girl to me, I'd kill for her, what makes you think I'd ever want to hurt her." Vince had never heard Ace sounds so honest he nodded gently mumbling the word fine under his breath. They walked into the diner together as friends sliding into the booth that currently occupied Alex and eyeball. Ace gave her a comforting smile to let her know things were okay and he sat next to her sliding a hand onto her thigh.

Within seconds Hilary was by the table. Her hand rested on Ace's shoulder as her fingers curled round the muscle.

"What can I get you boys?" she asked winking at Ace, Alex looked away not wanting to lose her temper, Ace recoiled pulling closer to her.

"Two burgers, one for me and my girl here" Hilary nearly collapsed in shock.

"Y-You're girl?" she asked her eyes flicking between him and Alex. Her face grew hot with anger and only a small squeak fell from her mouth as her fingers curled into fists as her long fingernails pressed deep into her palm. She dropped her notepad and ran behind the counter, the faint sound of her sobs echoed off the tiles.

"Looks like you've lost a fan" Alex raised an eyebrow, silently filled with glee to see Hillary put in her place. Ace only rolled his eyes.
