Chapter 1
A/N: Heyo! Soooo, this is my first Naruto fic. Lemme warn you this is a light-hearted fic, so angsty emo teens can turn back, this isn't for you sorry. Wait… am I stereotyping? I didn't mean to. Don't sue me, lol. Alright, so this story takes place after Sakura becomes Tsunade's apprentice. My story deviates from canon after that. Sakura is starting to grow fond of Naruto, will it end how you all want it to? Read to find out.
The pairings are going to be NaruSaku, SasuKarin, KibaHina, TsuJiraya, and KakaShizu. I can't decide who to pair Shikamaru with though. Ino or Temari? Hmmm… I was thinking for this one I'll do ShikaIno, maybe ShikaTem can be done next time.
Ok so I hope you enjoy! Please read and review! It gives us wee writers a lot of joy! Oh and the whole rookie genin is 14 years old. Neji, Tenten and Lee are a year older than them.
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, I repeat I do not own Naruto, all characters and plots belong to Masashi Kishimoto. Do not sue me, I have nothing to give.
It was a dull morning in Konoha. Dark clouds crowded the sky. A thunderstorm had come down last night, and it looked like another thunderstorm will be coming.
A pink haired girl was walking through the streets of the village. We all know her as Sakura Haruno, a member of the dynamic team 7.
'I am sooooo tired!' Thought the pink haired girl as she dragged herself back to her house. Yesterday her team had gone a mission, it wasn't like it was a very tough mission with unbeatable opponents or a complicated matter they had to solve. No, it was a mission filled with grunt work. So much grunt work, that by the time, team 7 had finally made it back to the village, her body almost collapsed from exhaustion. But her ever so faithful team-mate and friend Naruto Uzumaki had been there to catch her.
She still remembered the look of concern and worry that had graced Naruto's face. It had warmed her heart, but she hadn't really focused on that feeling because of her exhaustion. Even though she was tired, didn't sleep on time then overslept and missed breakfast, she still had to go for her training with her sensei and the fifth hokage, Tsunade.
'She wasn't the kind of woman you could argue with, without having the threat of getting thrown out the window or getting hit on the head with something heavy that would land you in the hospital.' Sakura thought with a sweat-drop.
She was just getting back from her training and the first thing she wanted to do was to plop herself on the bed and go to sleep and never wake up!
"This day could not get any worse." Mumbled Sakura.
'I'm having a feeling that's not going to be the case.' Said Inner Sakura with a smile.
'Ugh, I don't have the energy to deal with you today.' Said Sakura irritably.
'How rude!' Said Inner Sakura haughtily before disappearing.
"Kudos to me for having a split personality." Grumbled Sakura as she trudged on the grimy and puddle filled street. She lifted her gaze to see the dark clouds floating in the sky. A cold wind started blowing and Sakura started shivering.
Since she wasn't paying any attention to her surroundings, she didn't notice a gaping hole in the middle of the street.
Suddenly Sakura felt as if she was walking on air, as she felt the solid ground slip away from her feet. 'Weird.' Thought Sakura. She looked downwards to see herself standing over a gaping hole the size of a man hole in the middle of the street.
'Uh oh.' She thought before gravity finally took effect and she fell downwards.
"AHHHHHHHH!" She yelled in panic. 'When was there a man-hole on this street?!' She thought frantically. She was still falling before her brain kicked in and she realized that at the speed she was falling and the length of this fall, she wouldn't be alive if she hit the ground. Sakura looked around herself to see total darkness as an idea came to her. "This better work." She mumbled before extending her arms and legs in their respective directions. She felt walls around her. "Yes!" She whispered excitedly.
Gathering chakra in her hands and feet she touched the walls to slow herself down and get a grip to prevent a gory death that would have followed if the man-hole had opened into a huge chasm.
Skidding for a few more meters, she came to a stop. Now she was stuck in a man-hole type of thing with an abnormally long fall. 'How long is this thing?' She thought to herself.
"Now what?" She asked herself. There was a very slim chance someone would find her in here. By the looks of the situation, it seemed like she would have to climb up herself but she didn't have enough chakra. She would fall down pretty soon. This thought had Sakura gulping in fear and somehow wish that Naruto was here to help.
'Wait… I don't need help from Naruto, I am not dependent on that idiot.' She thought stubbornly.
'Oh come on, Naruto's been there every single time we needed help, of course we're dependent on him.' Inner Sakura chastised.
'Bu-but-, I guess you're right' Sighed Sakura. 'How can I still be so useless? I wish for once, I could be the one to save you Naruto.' Thought Sakura sadly as memories of their past adventures where Naruto had recklessly risked his life for her or someone else, all played in her mind like a movie.
Suddenly a golden light started emanating from beneath Sakura. 'Wha-?' She thought in a mix of fear and curiosity.
The golden light started growing and was coming closer to her. Sakura tried climbing upwards to get away from the light, but it was no use, the light enveloped her. She closed her eyes to prepare herself for anything bad that was going to happen.
When two minutes passed and nothing happened, Sakura opened her eyes slowly and realized that she was floating instead of clinging to the walls. She looked around herself and noticed that instead of darkness she was surrounded by golden light. Everything was golden!
Suddenly she noticed something floating in front of her. It looked like one of those chicken steel things that people put on their roofs to determine the direction of wind. But this thing didn't have any pointers with the first letter of the conventional directions, North, South, West, and East. Instead of a chicken this one looked like a phoenix, it was a reddish golden color.
Sakura knew she shouldn't touch it, she's been in a fair no. of situations to know never to touch strange things. But she couldn't help it, her curious nature wouldn't allow it. She extended her hand towards it. When the tip of her finger had just brushed it, it resulted in an explosion of light.
"Woah!" Yelped Sakura in surprise.
The light suddenly transformed into a giant brilliant golden phoenix. Sakura stared at it in awe as it squawked and flew upwards. Our favorite pink haired kunoichi followed it with her gaze as it flew up and performed some leaps and spirals before flying downwards towards her.
Sakura's eyes widened as the phoenix came closer and squawked again.
'I'm gonna die!' Yelled Sakura in her mind.
Sakura expected the phoenix to crash into her but all it did was coil around her petite body. As it did so its body formed into a beam of golden light which continued to swirl around her.
'What in the world is going on?' Thought Sakura confusedly as she looked down at herself and saw herself wrapped with light. It looked like a snake coiling around a body.
As the light reached her neck, it transformed into the head of the phoenix. The phoenix head gazed into her eyes for a few seconds as if it was analyzing her, and then suddenly it lunged forward straight into her head. Sakura gasped as the light started to flow into her head.
'It's getting absorbed into my body!' Thought Sakura frantically.
A tingling sensation started in her head and spread all throughout her body. It felt like a warm liquid was spreading through her body that was not blood.
'It kind of feels good.' Thought Sakura as she suddenly felt relaxed. As the light got fully absorbed inside her body, a bright glow surrounded Sakura. Now she was confused. 'What's happening now? Is this how dying feels like?' This was her last thought as the glow became so bright Sakura had to close her eyes.
As Sakura opened her eyes slowly, she found herself underneath the cloudy sky. "Huh?! Wait! How am I outside?" Sakura asked herself when she suddenly realized that she was actually suspended in the air at least 7 feet above the ground. A comical expression came over Sakura's face. "Uh oh." She said before falling on the ground in a bruised heap.
"I was wrong. Apparently this day did get worse!" Said Sakura in anger as she nursed a bump on the back of her head. A warm sensation on the side of her left upper arm captured her attention. Sakura turned her head to look at her arm and gasped.
There was a mark on her arm in the shape of a phoenix! A golden colored phoenix with its wings spread. It almost covered the whole length of her upper arm till her elbow.
"Well, crap."
A man with white hair and a white beard with red markings on his face was walking through the forest making his way towards the village hidden in the leaves.
This man was no ordinary man, it was the legendary toad sanin; Jiraiya.
He stopped for a moment, a look of concentration evident on his face. "A shift in the natural atmosphere? That's strange. And it's getting stronger as I get closer. Even more strange." The toad sage mumbled to himself.
Sakura came out of the chemist shop and ducked behind a huge barrel in the alley next to the shop.
"This is just great." Mumbled Sakura in irritation as she started wrapping her left upper arm in a bandage.
'There is no way my parents can see this mark. They'll freak out or think I got a tattoo or something because I'm a teenager. And besides who knows if something weird happened. I need to figure out what this mark is before I tell anyone.' Thought Sakura in frustration which turned into curiosity at the end.
As she finished wrapping up, Sakura heard a voice inside her head.
'Damn that Naruto!' The voice said. It sounded familiar to Sakura. 'He is so stupid, how does he not realize Hinata likes him, lucky bastard.' The voice said again.
'Kiba? Why can I hear Kiba in my head? Where is he?' Thought Sakura, a little confused by the situation.
Just then Sakura heard footsteps. She looked over the wooden barrel to see Kiba walking with Akamaru alongside him. He had his hands in his pockets and a sour expression on his face. Suddenly she heard his voice in her head again.
'Next time I see that loser, I'll pound him into the ground myself. Shino and his goody-two shoes attitude can go to hell. This is the last time I let him hurt Hinata.'
'Wowza, is Kiba jealous? I didn't know he liked Hinata. But that's no reason to beat Naruto up over, he's just a little dense in these kind of situations.' Sakura surprised herself as she found herself getting defensive of the blonde.
'I'm getting off track. Why can I hear Kiba in my head? Was I hearing his thoughts? But that's impossible, how can that be?' Thought Sakura when suddenly she heard an unfamiliar voice in her head.
'Oh man I got kicked out of my house again. Man, having a jealous girlfriend is harmful for my health. Better let her calm down before I end up in the hospital again.'
Sakura looked behind her to see a man coming towards her with a troubled expression. 'I think I just heard his thoughts in my head.' She thought as she watched the man walk past her and out onto the open street.
"I can hear people's thoughts in my head! Does it mean…. I can read minds?! Is it… is it because of this weird mark?" Said Sakura in shock and wonder.
'That's awesome! CHA!' Yelled Inner Sakura.
"Well, maybe I can test this theory." Said Sakura as she got of the alley and jumped on the roof of the chemist shop. "And for that, I need to find him." Mumbled Sakura before going on her way to find said ninja.
Sakura had searched all over. She checked Ichiraku's first naturally, but he hadn't stopped by at all today, then she went to the training grounds Team 7 usually used but found nothing. On her way back she bumped into Kakashi-sensei who hadn't seen Naruto all day. She went to his apartment to find it devoid of the loud ninja but filled with trash and clothes.
"Where is he?" Said Sakura in an impatient voice as she finally reached the top of the hokage monument.
And there he was standing atop the fourth's head looking towards the village.
"Naruto!" Yelled Sakura. Startled Naruto abruptly turned to face her. Upon seeing who had disturbed him he gave his trademark foxy grin.
"Sakura-chan! Where have you been? I've been looking all over for ya!" He said in a loud voice.
Sakura looked at him with a confused expression, "You were looking for me? But I was looking for you."
Naruto looked shocked for a moment. In that moment Sakura heard his voice in her head.
'Sakura-chan was looking for me? Maybe, she wanted to go on a date with me!' His excited voice resounded in Sakura's head. ;
Hearing this Sakura grew angry, 'Why would I want go on a date with you Naruto?!' She yelled in her mind.
'Do you really wanna know?' Asked Inner Sakura deviously.
'What's that supposed to mean?' She asked her inner self in a confused voice.
'Nah… I'm gonna let you figure this one out for yourself.' Chuckled Inner Sakura before disappearing.
'Wha-
Before her thoughts could continue they were interrupted by Naruto's voice resounding in her head.
'Or maybe she just wants to talk about Saskue like the time before he left.' Now his voice sounded bitter in her head.
All of Sakura's anger vanished when she heard this and was replaced by guilt and sadness, 'I hurt Naruto. I want to be the one to save him for once and I'm the one hurting him.' Thought Sakura sadly.
"So Sakura-chan, why were you looking for me?" His cheerful voice broke her out of her thoughts.
"Oh…um… I uh just wanted to talk. I mean we're really good friends now at least that's what I think , so I thought that we should spend some time together you know, uh aside from missions." She finished lamely.
Naruto's face lit up like a Christmas tree, "Sure thing Sakura-chan! And of course we're good friends!" He said happily as he came closer to her.
Sakura smiled at her blonde friend, "That's good. Now, why were you looking for me?"
Her question caused Naruto to blush.
'Oh man! Does she have to smile like that?! I can't think of an answer now and my legs feel like jelly!' Sakura heard Naruto's nervous voice in her head.
"Come on Naruto, just tell me the truth." She said in a soft voice so he won't lie.
Naruto looked at her in mild surprise before a shy smile graced his lips. "I wanted to ask you out on a date, but I know you'll say no." He said as his voice got sad at the end.
This made Sakura frown. She didn't like seeing him sad. She didn't understand when this happened but sadness didn't suit her favorite idiotic loud ninja.
'Wait did I just think of him as mine?!' Thought Sakura in panicked voice.
'You're an idiot you know.' Interjected Inner Sakura.
'The hell is that supposed to mean?' Asked Sakura in confusion.
'You know you wanna go on a date with Naruto. And don't you dare argue with me because we both know I'm right. You've been feeling like this for months, even before Saskue left.'
'I- No way no!' Yelled Sakura at her inner self.
'What did I say about arguing? And you're just in denial, and you're being stupid and stubborn. Talk to me when your brain starts working.' Said Inner Sakura in a flat tone before disappearing.
"Sakura-chan?" Asked Naruto in confusion. "Are you ok?
Sakura shook head to clear her thoughts and smiled at Naruto, "Yeah, I'm fine."
Naruto grinned, "So how about that date?" He asked enthusiastically.
A light blush graced her cheeks as she thought about it. "Maybe some other time Naruto."
Naruto visibly deflated and again Sakura's head was filled with his thoughts.
'Oh mannnnnn….' His disappointed voice floated into her mind.
"Kit, desperation isn't a good color on you." Said a strange voice which surprised Sakura. It was very different from Naruto's. It was deeper and a bit gruff.
'Oh shut up you dumb fox, if I want advice from you, I'll ask for it!' Sakura heard Naruto's biting voice in her head.
"Jeez, teenagers. So rude." The voice scoffed.
Sakura was very confused now. 'Why am I hearing two different voices from Naruto? Does he also have a split personality? That seems highly unlikely. This voice belongs to a completely different individual because it sounds completely different from his voice and the fact that I can't imagine what Inner Naruto would be like. Naruto isn't one to suppress his emotions.' Sakura was getting lost in her thoughts with a faraway look in her eyes that was making Naruto wonder what was going on with Sakura when he suddenly noticed the bandage she was wearing.
"Sakura-chan! Are you hurt?! Why are you wearing a bandage?!" Asked Naruto worriedly. His voice startled Sakura out of her thoughts.
"Huh? Oh this? It's nothing. Just you know trying something new." She shrugged nonchalantly.
"Sakura-chan, are you sure you're ok, you're acting kinda weird." Said Naruto in a worried tone laced with confusion.
"I'm fine Naruto, how many times do I need to tell you that. Stop worrying so much." Said Sakura with a slight edge in her voice. 'Jeez, this kid is nosy. I can't tell him about this mind reading thing, at least not until I figure out what this strange second voice that I hear Naruto talking to is.'
Naruto acts like a total doofus most of the time but he was smart enough to pick up the edge in Sakura's voice. It usually meant that it was time to quiet down before she pummeled him the ground or punched him into next month.
"Heh, heh, sorry Sakura-chan." Said Naruto laughing nervously. Suddenly Naruto's stomach grumbled.
"Looks like someone's hungry." Teased Sakura when suddenly her stomach grumbled too. Her cheeks reddened in embarrassment when Naruto smirked at her.
"We're both hungry Sakura-chan! So let's go get some ramen! I am dying from hunger!" Yelled Naruto enthusiastically before grabbing Sakura's hand and started dragging her all the way to the ramen stand before she could try and protest.
He was lucky she was really hungry or she would pummeled him into the ground for dragging her like this.
After reaching the ramen stand….
"Oh hey Naruto!" Said Teuchi in greeting.
"Hey old man, I'll have my usual!" Said Naruto happily as he sat down with Sakura next to him.
"Oh look at that, Naruto's brought a special lady friend with him today." Said Teuchi in a teasing tone that caused both Naruto and Sakura to blush and prompted Naruto to say, "Yup! Sakura-chan finally said yes!" He said happily completely forgetting what Sakura had told him.
Before she could protest Ayame appeared by her father's side said, "Oh Naruto-kun, I'm so happy for you."
"Tee-hee thanks!" Said Naruto as he giggled and rubbed his neck, which Sakura noticed was a gesture he did when he was nervous.
"So, Sakura-san what will you have?" Ayame asked her. It seemed pointless to try and correct Naruto's slip of tongue.
'I guess being on a date with Naruto isn't so bad.' She thought before replying,
"Miso ramen's fine, thank you." Sakura replied politely. Ayame nodded and went back to prepare their orders when Naruto started talking, "Sakura-chan?"
"Hmmm?" She replied lazily.
"After we eat ramen, we could uh go and get anmitsu or red bean dumplings or maybe umeboshi? I know there're your favorite and since we ate my favorite food we can eat yours too." Said Naruto, nervousness evident in his voice.
Sakura looked at him stunned by his knowledge of her likes. "How do you know that?" She asked in a confused voice.
Naruto gave her a silly smile and replied, "You told me and Saskue yourself sometime around when we were just starting out as a team."
"Oh…." Said Sakura in wonder. Before she could ponder it any further they're ramen was in front of them and Naruto had started inhaling his food at lightning speed.
Sakura sweat-dropped, "Naruto slow down! Do you wanna choke yourself or something?" Lectured Sakura.
"Its wust go tasdy!" Said Naruto through a mouthful of ramen.
"Ew! DON'T talk with your mouth full, you idiot!" Replied Sakura as she wacked him. Naruto just pouted but slowed down. They ate in peace for about 5 minutes, during which Naruto went through two more bowls when Shikamaru showed up and took a seat besides Naruto.
"Heya Shikamaru." Said Naruto in greeting. "Yo." He replied lazily and waved at Sakura who returned the gesture and also heard his thoughts,
'Man this so troublesome.' Sakura smiled to herself.
'He is so predictable.' She thought before Shikamaru started talking.
"Naruto, did you by any chance cross paths with Choji this morning?" Asked Shikamaru and Sakura detected a bit of apprehension in his voice.
Naruto slurped the last of his ramen and gave Shikamaru a sly smile, "Yeah, I actually did and boy am I glad for taking that route to the training grounds."
Shikamaru sighed, "What a drag…." He said and Sakura heard his thoughts again.
'Man, this is bad. Damn Choji and his bad timing.' This intrigued Sakura.
'Looks like, something embarrassing must have happened.' Thought Sakura as she giggled inwardly.
"What's the matter Naruto? Did something happen?" Asked Sakura innocently.
Naruto turned to look at her and smirked, "Oh you won't believe what happened Sakura-chan." He giggled as Shikamaru gave him a glare which only made Naruto laugh harder. All of this was making Sakura even more curious.
"What's going on? What are you two talking about?" Asked Sakura with a confused expression on her face.
Shikamaru looked at her for a moment before saying, "I'm sorry Sakura but we can't tell you."
Sakura frowned at him and took a huge mouthful of ramen to hide her disappointment when she heard his voice in her head again.
'Because it involves Ino and a shower.'
This caused Sakura to spit out the ramen in complete shock right at Teuchi who had bent forward to ask if she liked her ramen.
"Ah my face! It burns!" Yelled Teuchi in panic as Sakura started spitting apologies at the old man.
"Oh my! I am so sorry, it was an accident!" She said blushing in embarrassment when she heard Naruto chuckling in amusement.
"That was hilarious Sakura-chan! Do it again!" Said Naruto through a fit of giggles as Sakura turned to glare at him.
"Naruto! Stop being so insensitive!" She yelled as she punched him on the head.
"Owww…" Mumbled Naruto rubbing the bump forming on his head as Shikamaru sighed at their antics and got up to leave before things got more…uh…violent. With a goof like Naruto and a girl as fierce as Sakura, that was always the case.
"I have to go now. See ya later." Said Shikamaru as he got off the stool and lazily waved at them while walking away.
Naruto looked at him a mock disappointed expression, "Leaving so soon? But I was looking forward to teasing youuuu." He whined and Shikamaru turned to give him a death glare before continuing to walk ahead. Sakura shook her head at Naruto's antics.
"So Naruto." Sakura started. "Hm?" He hmmed in question.
"Wanna tell me what you were talking about?" She asked with a puppy dog face.
'Uh oh, not the puppy dog face! It's practically irresistible on Sakura-chan!' Naruto's thought voice said in agony. It made Sakura blush brightly.
'Why am I blushing?! I shouldn't no!' Thought Sakura as she tried calming her fluttering heart. Why could a simple compliment from Naruto make her feel like an idiot in love? She wondered.
"Ah… Sakura-channnnn…" Naruto whined.
'Pwease." Said Sakura hiding her smirk as she noticed he was starting to sweat.
"I would love to tell you Sakura-chan but I can't break the bro-code." Said Naruto nervously.
Sakura frowned at him, but Naruto caught a glint in her eyes that made him gulp.
"The bro-code? You would rather break my heart Naruto?" She said innocently batting her eyelashes at him.
Naruto paled at the thought, "Wh-what no! Argh! Sakura-chan! You're playing dirty! Well two can play that game!" Said Naruto getting confident at the end.
Now it was Sakura's turn to get nervous. "Wh-what do you mean?" She asked hating that her voice had quivered.
Naruto gave her a sly foxy smile as he said, "Let's make a deal. You have to tell me something very bad or devious you did and maybe if it's good enough I'll tell you what we were talking about."
"Wha-? Ugh fine." Said Sakura in defeat.
"Yes!" Said Naruto pumping his fist in the air.
"Hmmm, here's one!" Said Sakura gleefully, "It's sooo bad, you won't believe it!" Said Sakura as she giggled. Naruto was jumping up and down on his seat in anticipation.
"One time…. I borrowed a book from the library and accidently tore a page from it. I didn't wanna get scolded, so I just kept it with me and never returned it." Sakura smiled deviously when she finished talking.
Naruto looked at her with a bored expression, "Sakura-chan you have to be kidding me! I won't tell you anything if you don't take it seriously." Said Naruto as he pouted like a three year old.
Sakura sighed knowing there was no way Naruto would fall for her lies. He was a prankster, if Sakura wanted him to be shocked about something devious she did she would have to be serious.
"Fine…. But you can't tell ANYONE about what I am going to tell you OR ELSE I WILL KILL you." She threatened him. Naruto nodded furiously and gave her his word.
Satisfied Sakura started telling him, "Alright, this happened two years ago when I was 12." Sakura gulped as she continued.
"I don't know what got in me that day. I was just so bored that I didn't even wanna go to the library. I was walking by the ninja academy when I saw Iruka-sensei yelling at Konahamaru who by the looks of it had pulled a prank on him and he did not look happy. It gave me an idea. I decided to prank all the teachers of the genin teams because it would give me something to do and it would be entertaining.
It was a long shot but it could work. I waited for nightfall and under the cover of darkness I snuck out of my house when I knew for sure my parents were asleep. I snuck into the ninja academy and put my plan into action. I set up a whole dozen of traps, ranging from the classic invisible string to creative ones involving paints, glue, feathers, honey, cockroaches and dentures. Then I forged an emergency notice from the hokage to make sure all the teachers would show up. I had practiced advanced concealment Justus, it wasn't easy but I managed to conceal every trap in the academy. Needless to say all of us got the next day off if you remember."
Sakura finished with an embarrassed smile. Naruto was looking at her stunned by what he just learned. Oh he remembered that day perfectly. Who couldn't? Their teachers looked like idiots covered in a gross mixture of paint glue feathers and honey as some of them screamed like girls while being chased by cockroaches and dentures snapping at their butts. The ones that weren't screaming and running were trying to fight off the offending creatures. Iruka-sensei and Asuma-sensei in particular screamed like girls. Even Kakashi-sensei appeared scared while Gai-sensei tried to act brave but his fire of youth couldn't compete with the sheer genius of the prank. Some people thought it had been him who pulled this prank, but Sarutobi knew better. Naruto could never pull of such an elaborate prank. He was a simple but still an excellent prankster.
"I was pretty sure it wouldn't work, because I mean I was sure the teacher would be suspicious as to why the hokage gave them an emergency notice at the crack of dawn to come to the ninja academy. But when it did I was shocked to say the least." Said Sakura nervously as Naruto was still staring at her in shock and still hadn't said anything. "Naruto?" She asked apprehensively.
"Sakura-chan" Naruto started calmly, a stunned air around him, "I thought you were awesome and wonderful before, but now…."
Sakura was getting really nervous now, like the nervous you get before you get your exam results. 'Dammit maybe I shouldn't have told him this.' She thought regretfully.
"Now Sakura-chan, I don't have any words to describe how epic you are! That. Was. The. Best. Prank. Ever! I'm sad that I wasn't in on it! You weren't even caught Sakura-chan! I had no idea you could be this sneaky or devious!" Said Naruto excitedly.
Sakura smiled in relief, "Well I almost did, but I lied my way out of it, I am not proud of it, but think of the trouble I would have gotten in if I had gotten caught. I'm actually surprised Kakashi-sensei didn't catch on." Said Sakura before excitedly grabbing his shoulders and saying, "Now come on Naruto, tell me!"
Naruto giggled, "Alright but you can't tell anyone either. Especially tease Ino about it or else she'll kill Choji." Sakura nodded in acceptance as Naruto started telling her.
"Tee-hee, this is hilarious. Choji had invited both of his team-mates to his house for lunch and somehow a simple lunch between the three became a food fight. Choji's parents weren't home so he got away with it. Ino was furious about her clothes and hair getting dirty so Choji allowed her to use his shower. Now comes the funny part. Shikamaru forgot Ino was in the shower because she had been in there for an hour or so, and Shikamaru had to pee really badly. So he fled into the bathroom real fast before Choji could stop him. Well long story short, Ino and Shikamaru both panicked at the situation and somehow ended up on the floor with Ino tangled in the shower curtain and Shikamaru on top of her."
Sakura blushed at the mental picture and started giggling, "I can see why Shikamaru didn't want me to know. Ino would die if she found out I knew! It's so embarrassing!" She giggled again.
"Oh that's not the embarrassing part." Said Naruto with a smirk. Sakura stared at him in disbelief.
"Apparently Choji's parents chose that exact moment to come home. When they heard Ino yelling and Shikamaru panicking, they thought something bad happened and walked in on Ino and Shikamaru struggling on the floor while Choji tried controlling his laughter."
Sakura burst into laughter at that. "Oh this is so good. I can't believe I can't tease Ino about this."
"You promised Sakura-chan." Said Naruto sternly but a smile played on his lips at seeing Sakura laugh so freely. She hadn't smiled a genuine smile since Saskue the bastard had left. Both of them laughed heartily but stopped suddenly when they heard a familiar voice.
"Yo forehead and Naruto!"
Both genin in question looked at each other as they composed themselves. They turned to face a blonde girl in purple clothing coming closer to them.
As she reached them she said, "The hokage wants to see billboard brow and you Naruto. She said it's urgent so get moving."
"Thanks Ino-pig." Replied Sakura sarcastically and Ino bristled at the nickname.
'God, where did she get that name from. Ugh idiot. Thank the heavens she doesn't know what happened yesterday or I would have to jump off a cliff.'
As Sakura heard Ino's thoughts, she smirked and tried to contain her giggles. But it was getting harder. 'Poor Ino.' She thought as a giggle escaped her. Ino raised an eyebrow at Sakura's questionable behavior. But before she could question her Naruto grabbed Sakura's arm and started dragging her to the hokage tower.
"Alrighty gotta go bye, bye!" Yelled Naruto as they disappeared from view.
"Wow, both of them are so weird. Maybe that's why they're on the same team. An odd match made in heaven." Said Ino as she watched them talking and Sakura trying to hit Naruto for something perverted or stupid he might have said, you know, the usual.
A/N: Sooooo, did you like it? I hope you did! If you have any suggestions, tell me in the reviews and someone wants another pairing you can mention that in the reviews too! Until next time!
