Chapter 34

Rogue and Gambit had meet in a one to one or two to one meeting with the Professor the next day and explained firmly that they were to travel, forfilling this role they agreed to, then they would help the guilds relay simply on the higher courts instead of needing a Guild Master, and then they would break from the guild and go on to create their own mutant guild. They were very clear that Rogue would not be returning to school at the local school and that she would only return to school if that she was a mutant school. Mutant schools which they were going to craft and fund all across the world. They asked once again if the Professor would like to help them by supporting them in their decition.

Five years later.

Rogue smiled and waved good bye to the children as they left her classroom. It had been another hard working day, but a day worth having. Rogue sat back in her chair and remembered the events that led to this life she had now and for which always made her feel greatful for it.

They had left the X-Mansion after three more days of visiting their with the sucess of convining the Professor to help them plan and build and share the new mutant heaven schools. It had taken a year to get around all the guilds and make sure all was at piece with the guilds until they both resigned and let Tante Mattie and the other court members take control over the guilds. The first school which had been built and which Rogue worked in now was called the Jean Grey school.

A tradgy had happened during the first year away from the X-Mansion and the woman known as Jean Grey had become the Phionx. Rogue and Gambit had to stop their visitings and rush to help the X-Men stop the power of the Phionx. The Phionx was stopped, but at a cost. A cost of Jean Grey losing her life. So during the second year away, they decided to dedicate one of their schools to Jean Grey and then named a number of other schools after some of the main original X-Men.

During that second year of building the Jean Grey school, the Xavier Mansion had become a school itself, the idea of a all mutant school lingering with the Professor until he admitted it was a good idea. While the building was in process, Rogue and Gambit went to stay with the X-Men and Rogue finished her education, specialling in Law. Gambit had become a main item on the X-Men and Rogue noticed he enjoyed the action and good will the X-Men did. She too had rejoinined and missed the adventures of the X-Men and so, Rogue and Gambit became members of the X-Men again out of their own choice.

In the fourth year, Rogue and Gambit, with the help of the Professor using Cerebro, found teachers and filled up their school with lost and struggling mutants. Storm had been head misteress for a while, until she was needed on a mission and Rogue took over the possion of headmisteress. Gambit took over from the Professor, finding new struggling mutants and settling them in where Rogue helped fit them into rooms and classes and taught classes too. Both Rogue and Gambit also went on little missions with the X-Men too while running a school pritty much on their own. The work load for Rogue was taken off a lot when graduates decided to stay and help teach mutants in return for the help they recieved. At the end of the fourth year, they had began building their second mutant school, or, including the X-Mansion, third mutant school.

By the start of the fifth year, Rogue had found french mutant to teach in their newly opening french mutant school and had sorted out all the details needed for the school to get going and start running in september.

One day, Rogue came in after a long day teaching and dropped down onto the sofa where Gambit sat. He chuckled and stroked her hair. "Hard day?" He had asked.

"Hmmm." Rogue was too tired to reply properly.

"Well, maybe this will make you feel better moi cheire. I have gotten Stormy to look after dis school for a week while we go to admire all your hard work in France."

That put a smile on Rogue's face. Gambit was so sweet and loyal to her. It had been five years he had gone without sex and Rogue found that absolutly amazing. They had been tempted at times, but they always remembered what Rogue had said and what she wanted.

"Hmmm, sounds like a romantic get away." Rogue said, lifting her head up and a stupid smile on her face.

"Maybe." Gambit said, enjoying the tired happyness Rogue experessed.

They kissed and it was just as special as the last time they kissed. Rogue lay her head back down onto Gambit's chest, snuggling up to him and sleeping while he watched the news reports to locate new mutants.

Rogue was dressed in a beautiful green dress with a low back and long skirt which brought out her eyes. Her long hair had been tied up in a bun on top of her head and she wore long black opera gloves. Rogue came to lean against the bacony of the Efflie Tower. She felt Gambit, who was dressed up in a tux come up behind her, encircling his arms around her waist and resting his chin upon her shoulder.

"It's beautiful Remy. Thank ya for such a wonderful night."

Gambit's smile grew. "It's not over yet cherie."

The music changed to a romantic walze that seemed to come on whenever Rogue or Gambit went out dancing. Rogue was turned around in Gambit's eyes, looking past him and noticing that people were watching them. Rogue had no idea what was going on.

Until Gambit was kneeling down on one knee in front of her with a small black box in one hand and her hand in his other. "Anna Marie." (Rogue had told Gambit her name when they were out on a retreat mission with the X-Men and she thought they were both going to die.) "Will you marry me." He openned the box to reveal a simple golden engagment ring with a greens dimonds in the band, that must have cost a fortune.

And Rogue began to laugh. A happy laugh, but that laugh stopped her words. So instead she nodded and started pulling off her glove. Gambit helped her take it off and placed the ring upon her finger. There was a round of applause for them as Gambit swooped Rogue up into his arms and spun her around while kissing her madly. Rogue kissed his back through wet tears.

They were married at the Xaveir's mansion though it didn't seem big enough to with hold all of the people in the guilds who wanted to attend. Everyone just about squeezed in and both Gambit and Rogue were feeling the nerves. Everything seemed to go wrong for a time. Rogue was stressing over her hair and make-up and dress, and saying that she looked fat when really she looked beautiful. As for Gambit, the pressure was getting to him so badly that he literally ran away from the mansion for the hour Rogue was yelling and screaming at her bridesmaids about her appearance. The grooms men had to chase Gambit and calm him don and get him back to the alter. After Rogue cried and had a break down to her bridesmaids about her true worses and fears that she once could never even imagine getting married, that now it was possible, everything had to be right and just how she pictured it. She wanted it to be special. After both were calmed down (and slipped a little alchol), Gambit stood tall at the alter and Rogue walked down the isle with Logan giving her away. As soon as they were faced to face and holding each others hands, everything else that was wrong or faulty just seemed to slip away and they were enwrapped in their own little world.

"I do." Said Gambit.

"I do." Said Rogue.

And then the groom kissed the bride.

Rogue smiled goofily to an empty classroom. The past five years of her life had been filled with ups and downs naturally, but she couldn't imagine even being alive if it had't been for Gambit asking her to marry him in the first place. She looked down to her wedding rings and smiled more.

There was a knock at the door.

"Bonjour mon cherie. You do know de Christmas holidays started ten minutes ago, non?"

Rogue smiled at Gambit who leaned casually and sexually against the classroom door. Rogue grinned knowingly. Knowingly of how satisfying he was in bed.

"Hmmm, ah knew..." Rogue stood up and came to Gambit's side. They locked lips and Gambit wrapped an arm around Rogue as he lead her back to their home just outside the school.

When Gambit finally brought over two cups of coffee to the sofa where Rogue was sat, he asked. "You've had that goofy look on your face all day. What's made you so happy? It couldn't have been what we did last night could it?" Gambit put don his coffee and moved to trail butterfly kisses down her neck, saying between each word. "Cause. I could. Always. Do it. Again. Mon Cherie."

Rogue giggled and pushed him away, turning her goofy smile on him. They locked eyes and for that moment all was bliss. Then Rogue looked down into her lap where she balanced her coffee mug. There had been something making her act goofy all day, but at the same time it made her worry about what Gambit would do or say if she told him. But she had a feeling she knew him so well to know his reaction.

"Ah, emmm..." Rogue looked up to meet Gambit's eyes, her smile returning as she did so. "I'm pregnant Remy."

Gambit was still and expressionless for one whole moment which felt like ten minutes. "Say something." Rogue pleaded.

A large goofy smile spread across Gambit's face. "We're having a child?" Gambit's hand found Rogue's still flat stomach as he gently rubbed it, then he looked back up into Rogue's eyes.

"Yes... Are you-"

Rogue did't get to finish as Gambit kissed her hard on the lips.

"I love you Cher. I love you Rogue." He said inbetween kisses.

"I love you too Remy."
