(A/N: Honestly, I forgot to mention why I gave some of the characters from CoD Ghosts more dialogue. I wanted to try and make it seem a little more different from the base game, but at the same time, not too far from it. That's all I had to say, other than the reason I haven't uploaded a single chapter. THAT reason is that I was doing another fanfic chapter of another story on Wattpad. But I'll explain a little more after the chapter. Enjoy)
Inspiration: Call of Duty Ghosts
Most of the audience members began dispersing and went towards the restrooms, leaving behind a few others and the Entity. The Entity began reforming the theatre's walls, much to the surprise of the few members.
"Hey, what the hell is going on?!" Roman yelled out as he looked at the walls that are shapeshifting.
"Let's just say, a bit of redecorating." the Entity nonchalantly replied.
"Redecorating?!" Vernal yelled out.
The walls shifted into a more modern aesthetic, with cool blue theatre lights complimenting the dark grey walls of the now-reformed theatre. The members came back and were astonished when they saw the new look of the theatre.
"What do you think?" the Entity asked.
"It looks amazing!" Ruby replied as she looked around the newly-formed theatre room.
"I'll say. It looks more welcoming than before." Qrow commented.
"It's even better than ever!" Nora said as she ran towards her seat with Ren behind her.
"Why can't we have any of this in the tower?" Tyrian asked.
"Because we don't have any reception in the Grimmlands," Salem said.
"And that it'll be easier for others to track us." Watts retorted as he went back to his seat.
"Heh, I've seen better theatres than this." Jacques sneered as he sat back in his chair. Beside him, Willow glared at Jacques but didn't say a word. She instead opted to drink wine from her glass. Whitely looked at his mother before turning back towards the screen.
The rest all went back to their seating positions and were ready to continue the viewing.
"Is everyone prepared?" the Entity asked.
The audience members all collectively agreed.
"Good, since we will be viewing the events of the world a few years later." the Entity said.
"Wait, years?" Tai asked, to which the Entity nodded.
"You will see the major changes from this world to yours." the Entity said before engulfing the whole room to darkness and turning on the screen.
"The Federation's rise to power had started years ago."
The scene begins with a visual representation of the Kingdom of Vacuo exploding, forming a radius of dust and smoke.
"Ooh, another one of those things," Ruby said.
"Still love the visual style," Weiss said.
"Agreed," Coco said.
"When the great energy-producing kingdom was destroyed, the world powers that depended on them collapsed. And in their wake, the Federation began to rise."
The smoke wrapped around the globe of Remnant, before settling in the middle of the continent, Sanus. The symbol of the Federation army formed over it.
"So, that is where the Federation was formed," Ironwood said.
"I never recall a place in that area big enough to be a city," Ozma, in Oscar's body, said.
"There isn't even such a place to begin with. In that world, it is known as Suzuran." the Entity said.
"There isn't any place that's named Suzuran," Penny said as she looked through her database.
"This world is a special place, Miss Polendina." the Entity said.
"The Federation united all of Southern Remnant under one banner and devoured everything in its path as it moved relentlessly to the north."
A black trail from the smoke slowly moved up of Northern Remnant. Multiple Rods from the station also started raining from space, sending mass destruction onto the ground.
"After turning ODIN against us, the Federation stood on the doorstep of Vale, poised for the kill."
The next scene shows multiple rods striking down on Vale.
Most of the audience grimaced at seeing the kinetic rods destroying the kingdom.
"Gods, that's still horrifying." Terra clutched Adrian in her arms.
"And considering that the rods are launched from space, it will near impossible to stop them." Ironwood scowled at the thought.
"You know, I'm glad that the Grimm do exist in our world," Maria said, making some of the members surprised by what she said. Even she is surprised she said it.
"And why is that, Maria?" Pietro asked in interest.
"To keep the bloody world in check, that's what," Maria answered, "And to keep turn these contraptions into a reality!"
"I can't say I agree with you. But..." Qrow looked at his flask before sighing. "You may have a point."
"Indeed," Winter commented.
Ironwood slowly nodded in that sentiment, but still disagreed in some area.
"They thought we were weak, crippled; prey waiting to be taken. We fought hard, we fought well, and we fought them to a bloody stalemate.
The scene changes to a crater left by one of the rods.
"And here, just beyond the craters of "No Man's Land," we find ourselves in a defensive war against a more powerful enemy."
10 years later
"Wait, Ten?! I thought you said a few years, not a decade!" Tai yelled out.
"I did say you'll be seeing major changes from this world to yours." the Entity reminded.
"How drastic are these changes?" Summer asked.
"You'll soon find out."
That made some of the audience worried.
"Dragon Six, you there? Yang? Ruby?" an unknown soldier asked.
"Copy, yeah, we're here. Go ahead." Yang replied.
"Reports are coming in. Frisch got overrun last night. Command wants another sweep of The Wall ASAP."
"Ah, shit. Any survivors?"
"...Negative."
"Survivors?" Ruby said in concern.
"To keep it brief, a city was overridden by the Federation. No one survived." the Entity said.
At this point, most of the audience, with the exception of Salem's group and Raven, were either shocked, disbelief, or angry.
"Motherfucker..." Jaune muttered angrily, causing Pyrrha to attempt to calm him down, but she too felt anger rising inside of her.
"They didn't even let the families go?" Winter asked in uncertainty.
"No. The Federation executed everyone, either leaving them in various pits filled with bodies or burn them. Although, they mostly do the former." the Entity said.
"Monsters..." Glynda muttered out.
"Why? Why would they even do that?" Neptune asked in mortification.
"To send a message. You all will learn more in the future viewings." the Entity said before continuing the viewing.
"Brave New World"
June 6th - 05:12:39
Beacon, Vale
"So, we'll be viewing this world's Beacon?" Oobleck asked.
"Well...what's left of it, that is." the Entity said.
"What do you mean?" Port asked.
"Considering that the kinetic rods destroyed a large portion of Vale, almost everywhere is an apocalyptic wasteland."
The audience didn't say a thing and opted to watch the screen instead.
Ruby slowly woke up to the sound of something bouncing. She looked to her left to see Yang play with their dog, Zwei. Yang soon noticed Ruby awake and greeted her.
"Hey, sorry I didn't wake you. Thought you could use the sleep," Yang said.
"Wow, so that's what we're like when we're older!" Ruby said.
"What the hell happened to my hair?!" Yang yelled in shock.
"Let's just say the military life changed you and your sister quite a bit." the Entity said.
"Aw, no worries, Yang. You look cute with a pixie cut." Summer said.
"I don't wanna be cute! I wanna be a badass with big luscious hair!" Yang complained but ended up pouting as she sat back in her chair. Zwei saw this and jumped over to Yang and comfort her.
"Thanks, boy," Yang said as she patted the dog.
"Wait, who's the dog with you?" Nora asked, pointing towards the screen.
"Ah, that over there is this version's Zwei." the Entity explained.
"A Mistralian Sheperd. Good choice." Ironwood applauded.
Zwei looked over towards the screen. His tail wagged as he saw another fellow dog.
A loud noise occurred, alerting the group from their rest. Yang moved beside Zwei and patted him.
"Quiet, boy. Listen." Yang said as the group stayed silent, hearing the sounds of something moving. Zwei noticed it and moved his head towards the doorway.
"Hey, Zwei's got something. Grab your gear, let's move."
Ruby acknowledged as she and Yang prepared their weapons.
Ruby was instantly intrigued by the weapon she and Yang were handling.
"What's that weapon?" Ruby watched in anticipation.
"That right there is called the AAC Honey Badger. It has an integrated suppressor and is perfect for Close Quarters to Mid-Range combat." the Entity summarized.
"I want one!" Ruby declared.
"You'll get to use one soon enough."
"Wait...use?" Ruby's eyes widened. The Entity chuckled at her reaction.
"Oh, I said too much. Silly me." the Entity teased, causing the red reaper to pout.
"Team Two, are you near our position?" Yang asked through the radio.
"Negative. We're outside. You girls got something?" the soldier asked.
"Zwei does. We're checkin' it now." Yang replied.
"Roger. We'll secure the exit. Two-One out."
The three walked down a ruined hallway, crawling under the debris, before reaching a destroyed room with a wall made out of fabric. Yang pulled out her knife and stabbed it through the Fabric. She then drives the knife down, creating a big opening for the group.
"Through here."
"Woah, why's the wall made out of fabric?" Velvet asked.
Once they've entered, they looked around to see an abandoned auditorium with leaves and natural fauna growing out of it.
"Ah, that answers it," Fox said. Even though he's blind, the theatre's odd nature allowed him to see the projected screen through his own eyes.
"Damn, guess that happens if you abandoned a place for a decade, huh?" Roman asked, eliciting a shrug from Neo.
"It makes you wonder what other places were left unexplored." Sienna, surprisingly, said.
"Cover me, Zwei."
Yang climbs up the seat with Zwei leading the way. They checked the area before Yang called over Ruby.
"It's clear, come on up," Yang said as Ruby began climbing towards her. After climbing, they advance through the ruined corridors of the auditorium before suddenly hearing noises from the other room.
"That's close. Take the door on the right."
Ruby leaned near the door, with Yang and Zwei waiting behind her. She slowly grabbed the handle of the door before immediately barging in.
Some of the audience members tense up in anticipation.
"I wonder what's gonna happen," Blake said.
"Please don't be a jumpscare," Oscar, who took control, muttered.
But once they got in, they saw two reindeers that were surprised by their presence before running off, and away from them. Zwei barked at the running deer before growling in frustration.
The audience relaxed as soon as the deers were on screen. The Xiao-Long family chuckled when their Zwei barked at the two deers on screen.
"Hehe, no worries, Zwei. They ain't here." Yang said.
"Guess Zwei's getting hungry." Ruby chuckled as Yang patted Zwei.
"You don't want to eat anything out here, boy. Let's head back and get you some real food." Yang said as Zwei barked at her before continuing onward.
"Six-one, sitrep?" the soldier said.
"Just some local wildlife. We're good." Yang replied.
"Check. We're moving up to RP "Silver." Copy?"
"Yeah, we'll join you. Meet us at The Wall. We're on our way out."
"Rog'."
The two sisters and their dog jogged through the broken building. They've reached a set of stairs and went up towards where The Wall is. Yang stared at the structure as she whistles in impression.
"Damn, that place has seen better days," Sun commented.
"As I said, Apocalyptic Wasteland. At the very least, there isn't any undead or anything supernatu-" the Entity cut itself off in realization. "Oooohhh. That..."
"Um, what do you mean by that?" Ruby was feeling skeptical about the Entity's behavior.
"Aliens." the Entity said.
The comment caused the audience to look at the Entity in confusion.
"Aliens? What the hell has to do with this?" Qrow gestured to the screen.
"It is a separate timeline within the universe of this world. I won't go into full detail about it. But in simple terms, the kinetic rods that struck some parts of Remnant reawakened an ancient alien race living under Remnant's surface, and let me tell you, it ain't pretty."
"How dangerous are these aliens, then?" Salem asked.
"More powerful than the Grimm."
That completely took the audience off guard. Some even leaned back in disbelief before continuing to watch.
"There she is. Lookin' like hell but still standing." Yang said before spotting a group of Valean soldiers waiting on them.
"Huh, it's been a while since Valean soldiers were a thing," Ironwood said.
"Indeed. I wonder what happened to them." Port mused.
"Simple, the Huntsmen simply were more reliable in terms of combat prowess and efficiency. They practically replaced the Valean military, in favor of more diverse fighters with Aura." Oobleck stated. "But that doesn't mean Huntsmen and Huntresses in an army isn't a thing. Atlas is a great example, of course."
"Yo." one of the soldiers greeted.
"Sergeant." Yang acknowledged. "Your area secure?"
"Just about. Need to sweep this side of The Wall, and we're good."
"We'll take the left side, should go quick. Regroup at the gas station."
"You got it." The group of soldiers began vaulting over some wrecked cars before proceeding towards their objectives. Yang, Ruby, and Zwei all moved towards another building with moss growing on it. A small tremor occurred, making Zwei growl. Yang saw this and pets him to calm him down.
"Hey Zwei, come on, search," Yang said to Zwei before moving towards one of the doors. She, alongside Ruby, silently moved inside the building.
"You hear that? Someone's out there." Yang said as she heard radio chatter from the other side.
When they got in, they heard chatter outside of the building, and a large number of Federation soldiers were standing on the ruins of what used to be a Cafe.
"Wait for Zwei. If he attacks the target, shoot to kill." Yang reminded Ruby, who nodded and waited for Zwei.
One of the soldiers, who was smoking, came too close to Zwei. He jumped out of his hiding spot and pounced on the man. He then proceeds to chomp on the man's neck, ripping off the throat in the process.
"Holy crap!" Yang said.
Ruby looked mortified, seeing her little dog ripping open a man's throat.
"E-even if he's a bad guy, I kinda feel bad," Ruby said.
Blake wanted to hide away from the sight, all the while Weiss comforted her. Somewhere among the crowd, Tyrian happily sighed as he watched Zwei ripped the man's throat into pieces.
"Ah, man's best friend. What would we do without you." Tyrian said as his mind wandered off to-
"No!" Watts exclaimed. "Don't you even think about getting a runt! We already have Cinder and her pets to deal with!"
"Fuck you!" Emerald yelled as Mercury flipped him off before continuing to watch. Cinder glared at the former Atlesian scientist before doing the same. Roman and Neo snickered at the comment before stopping when Cinder's glare switched to them. Junior saw this and nudged Roman.
"Has it been always like this?" he asked.
"Hehe, you have no idea," Roman said.
Alerted by this, the Other soldier pulled out his weapon and aimed at Zwei. But before he could even shoot him, he was killed by Ruby, alerting the other soldiers in the process.
"Drop these guys," Yang commanded as she ran out of her cover and started firing on the soldiers.
"Zwei, go!" Yang said to Zwei, who immediately pounced on another soldier and killed him.
A brief firefight occurred, as the two sisters fired and the Valean soldier assisted in combat. Once the Federation soldiers were all killed, Yang and Ruby walked out of their cover.
"Zwei, stay!" Yang yelled out.
"Fed recon, again. That's five this month already." Ruby muttered as she stared at a corpse of a Federation soldier.
"It sounds like it's a common occurrence," Yatsuhashi said.
"No kidding," Coco commented.
"Two-One, we just engaged another Federation recon team. Meet us at "Overwatch." We need to regroup now." Yang said through the radio.
"Check. We're on our way." the sergeant said.
Yang walked up to a broken wall and kicked it. The broken wall collapsed as she, Ruby, and Zwei regrouped with the other soldiers.
"Zwei, here," Yang said as Zwei ran up beside her.
Off in the distance, the group saw some civilians taken hostage by the Federation.
"Holy shit." the sergeant muttered.
"What's going on? What are they doing to them?" Ruby asked in concern.
"It looks like an execution." Ruby turned to hear Raven speaking.
"What?" Ruby asked.
"Look," Raven towards the screen.
"Leave us alone!" one of the civilians yelled out to the soldier.
"This country will fall as easy as its people." one of the Federation soldiers declared as he began executing the civilian. The others did the same and killed off the rest of the civilians.
"The Entity did say they killed off everyone from the other city. No doubt they're not looking for prisoners." Raven crossed her arms. "What are they looking for then?" she said in curiosity.
"Whatever they're finding, I doubt it'll be good for the citizens of Beacon," Maria said.
"Come on! They're executing civvies! Move in, move in!" Ruby said as she and Yang charged towards the Feds. The Valean soldiers followed suit and shot at the Feds.
"Zwei, go!" Yang yelled to Zwei as he pounces an unsuspected Fed.
Ruby ran towards the building of the station and got tackled by a Fed soldier. The soldier didn't stand a chance, however, as he was being mauled at by Zwei.
"Thanks, Zwei." Ruby thanked as Zwei happily barked.
Eventually, the Fed soldiers were killed off by the group.
"This way. Zwei, come." Yang instructed Zwei as he followed behind.
"All available units, we have a Federation contact at the wall! We need back up, now! Repeat, we are under attack!" a random soldier yelled through the radios of the group.
"We've got you, Lima Charlie! Pop smoke, we're headed to you!" Yang said through the radio.
"Roger that! Popping green smoke in our position!" the soldier said.
As the team moved up to assist, Ruby looked over to see an MK14 EBR lying on the crates near the entrance. She took it without hesitation and followed behind the group.
"It is called the MK14 EBR, if you're wondering." the Entity said, even before Ruby could question.
"Kinda looks like your weapon, P-money," Yang said.
"Hmm, but the stock's different. Not to mention the cartridge and the scope." Pyrrha said, "But I could see why you'd think of it." Pyrrha said before smiling in amusement.
"Feels like the old days," Jaune said.
"Push to the Wall!" Yang yelled out.
The group soon got into the action as they fired upon the Fed soldiers.
"Jeez, that's a lot of guys," Coco said.
"Not a problem for us Huntsmen and Huntresses, right gang?" Ruby said, gaining howls of agreement from the other students.
"But you might want to consider that these versions of yourself and the people don't have Aura," Glynda emphasized.
"Yeah, and I gotta admit. These people have balls to fight even without one." Qrow added.
"Let's not forget to mention that this world also had two Great Wars, similar to mine." the Entity said.
"Yeah, that..."
Ruby ran to cover as she picked off any Fed soldier she could find with her marksman rifle. A nearby Valean soldier saw this and looked towards Ruby.
"Nice shot, kid." the soldier said in admiration.
"Thanks," Ruby looked at the battlefield before looking back at the soldier. "And I ain't a kid, buster."
"Yeah, I drink milk, for crying out loud!" Ruby raised her arms in the air before crossing her arms and huffing.
Tai and Qrow laughed at Ruby's antics, while Summer smiled at her daughter.
'Oh, how I miss this.' she thought.
She soon sprinted off towards her sister under the bridge. She spotted Fed soldiers who were roping down from the bridge. She retreated to a nearby vehicle and took cover from it. Two Valean soldiers rushed to the left side of the bridge and shot a few Fed soldiers that flanked them. Yang and Ruby soon pushed through the right flank and killed off nearby Fed soldiers. Yang soon spotted Green smoke coming from the entrance of The Wall, behind the Fed soldiers.
"That's friendlies at the green smoke!" Yang said through the radio.
The Valean soldiers soon picked off the remaining Fed soldiers that were attacking them. The area was soon cleared, and the group advanced towards the entry point.
"Zwei, go!" Yang said.
"More birds inbound!" the Valean soldier from the radio said as he looked through his binoculars.
"Rubes! Grab a launcher! Take care of the birds. We'll cover you!" Yang said.
Ruby walks to a nearby weapons cache and grabs a nearby MAAWS rocket launcher. Zwei barked aggressively as a distant rotor noise occurred.
"What is that noise?" Fox said as he heard the faint noise.
"Sounds like a motor engine," Yang said.
"Easy boy. Easy." Yang patted Zwei as he began to calm down.
A light helicopter came into view as Fed soldiers began dropping out of it to the bridge. Ruby saw this and shot the aircraft with the guided-missile on it. The aircraft exploded, but the soldiers already set foot on the bridge.
Some of the audience members that saw the helicopter quickly became curious as to what the aircraft was.
"It looks like it functions similarly to Bullheads. I might be able to write down some schematics, sir." Penny said as she took some pictures on the helicopter using her eyes.
"Please do," Ironwood said.
"Man, they look nothing like Bullheads. They even seem faster too." Tai said.
"Those models are called EC-635. They have two common variants. In this case, what you're seeing is a transport variant." the Entity explained.
"What is the other variant?" Nora asked.
"The attack variant, outfitted with two miniguns and sometimes rocket launchers."
"Now that is my style!" Coco said in excitement.
"Mind you that these vehicles, among many others, are vulnerable to Surface-to-Air Missiles and any other heat-seeking explosives. They aren't that durable, unlike the Bullheads you have from your world."
A second chopper arrived. This time it is a Federation Hind that launched a missile to the group. After the brief shellshock, the group was immediately attacked by the Hind and the foot soldiers from the bridge. Ruby launched another missile, and it hit the Hind. The Hind retaliated and fired a barrage of bullets to the group. Ruby fired another one, but the Hind used its flares to counteract.
"Dammit! It has flares!" Ruby yelled.
"Don't let it stop you from shooting it, Rubes!" Yang yelled back as she continued to shoot the soldiers from the bridge.
The fight went on as Ruby fired rocket after rocket. Some even hit the helicopter while others were destroyed by the flares. Eventually, the Hind was destroyed. Ruby joins the rest of the group and killed off any remains of the Federation soldiers.
"Yeah! You did it, Ruby!" Yang cheered.
"I'm the best!" Ruby yelled, causing Weiss to roll her eyes and chuckle at her leader's antics.
With the Atlesians, Ironwood and Winter began writing down the concepts and ideas of the helicopter, while Penny recorded the battle for research.
"I have gathered enough intel about the vehicle," Penny said as she stopped recording.
"Great work, Penny," Winter said.
"Clear!" another Valean soldier said.
"We're clear!" the sergeant said.
"Corporal David, you're on transport," Yang said.
"Roger. Commandeering for transport." Cpl. David said.
"Ruby, you're on security in the back."
"On it," Ruby replied.
The group enters the MATV. The alarms of the entrance blared as the gates opened for the group. The group drove in to see other Valean soldiers entering the area and soon drove inside the Outpost.
"Finally, the cavalry arrived!" Yang sighed.
"Technically speaking, You, Ruby, and the other soldiers with you are the cavalry." Blake pointed out.
"Eh, whatever, Just as long as we're fine, I don't care."
Blake rolled her eyes from Yang's comment.
20 minutes later
Fort Beacon
The group soon arrived at Fort Beacon, where several soldiers and civilians all mesh in one. Zwei was seen on the hatch door as he looks around the area.
"Snrk, Fort Beacon?" Yang nearly laughed.
"It's better than Fort Castle, I should say," Coco commented.
Oobleck rolled his eyes as he looked upon the screen.
"Kids these days. They don't even have respect towards historical structures." Oobleck muttered.
"Hey Zwei!" a random Valean soldier yelled out to Zwei, who happily responded with two barks.
"It seems that Zwei is well known in that place." Summer chuckled.
"He's also a mascot for the army." the Entity said.
"I mean, I can understand. It's Zwei we're talking here." Qrow said.
The vehicle drove to a stop beside a building.
"This is us, sergeant." the soldier from The Wall said.
The group all disembarks out of the vehicle.
"Zwei, stay." Yang said as Zwei sat down.
"C'mon, let's go find the Old Man."
"I ain't that old." Tai pouted as Summer pats him on the shoulder.
"Come on, Tai. You're practically Forty-something years old in that world. I would consider it old." Qrow commented.
"He's got you there," Raven said.
"Oh, not you too." Tai groaned in annoyance as the former Team STRQ chuckled at the expense of their blonde teammate.
The two sisters walked up the stairs until they reached the office where Tai was overseeing the operation.
"Dad." the two greeted the father, who smiled happily.
"I heard about the attack. You girls okay?" Tai asked with no small concern but with pride. He reached out to Yang and patted her on the shoulder. The two girls grinned at his comment.
"Always," Yang replied. Tai looked at her and Ruby before nodding.
"Walk with me," he said.
"Um, that doesn't sound good," Yang said.
"Yeah, but I'm getting a feeling that nothing bad's gonna happen," Pyrrha said.
"It's probably because you're dad's worried," Jaune said.
"Well, of course, I am!" Tai said.
The two girls followed Tai upstairs.
"Dad, they were executing civilians..." Yang said.
"I know, their recon teams round up scavengers, drifters, hoping to find a way into the city. It's how they took Frisch practically overnight." Tai said.
"So they ended up interrogating the poor suckers that stuck out for too long. What happens to them, other than the obvious?" Vernal asked.
"The same fate as everyone else that doesn't serve the Federation." the Entity said.
"Not surprising, considering their actions toward them," Raven commented.
"Here comes "the strong life and the weak die" quote from Rae," Qrow said as he drank a bit of his liquor.
"Do you honestly think I was gonna say it?" Raven asked.
"yes," the rest of team STRQ, alongside a few other people that knew Raven, said.
"Why am I not surprised." Raven sighed.
"So, how can we help?" Ruby asked, but Tai didn't respond.
"Dad?" Yang said in concern.
They eventually reached the top floor before Tai turned around and faced his two daughters.
"Listen, you girls... you're the only thing I've got left in this world," he said.
That left a sting in Tai's heart, considering that he felt the same when he saw his baby girls becoming Hunttresses, and they're the only people left that he could call family.
"Dad, listen-"
"But you're also the only ones I can trust," Tai said, interrupting Ruby.
"Hey, look, whatever it is, Ruby and I, we're ready," Yang said, gesturing to Ruby and herself.
"Yeah, we could handle it," Yang said.
Tai sighed before looking back at the two once more.
"You two are going to No Man's Land," he stated.
That caused the girls to react in surprise.
"Seriously?" Ruby said in disbelief.
"Hang on, for real?" Yang asked.
Yang's mood dropped slightly when her other self was shocked upon hearing about No Man's Land.
"No Man's Land, ain't that the place from the beginning of this viewing?" Yang asked.
"Yes, but it is also home to various Federation troopers that survey the area." the Entity said.
The trio reached the balcony of the building. Tai leaned in on the railing as he continued talking to his girls.
"We've been on the defensive for far too long. So I'm sending you outside the wall," Tai said as he overlooks the soldiers occupying the trenches from below. A lone fighter jet passes by before resuming its trajectory.
"You'll link up with a recon team, gather any intel you can on the enemy and get your asses back here."
"So where in No Man's Land are we going?" Ruby asked.
Tai chuckled at her question, confusing the two girls.
"Somewhere you know better than anyone," he said, looking over his shoulder with a smile.
"You're going home."
The scene ends with the two sisters looking at each other with shocked expressions before cutting to black.
The theatre lights came to life once more as the symbol of the screen returned.
"How is it?" the Entity asked.
"It's not bad. But I have this nagging feeling about this world's Ruby." Yang said.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.
"You seem more...conserved about yourself. Like something changed about you."
"Well, the events from the previous viewing would leave a life-changing mark on someone that experienced it." Weiss pointed out.
"Can't even blame yeah for acting differently. That, and because you've probably aged during that time." Sun said.
"Well, of course. A whole decade living in a semi-post apocalyptic kingdom would do stuff to you." Neptune said.
"I wonder how the other kingdoms are fairing," Weiss asked.
"Vacuo and Vale are obvious. Mistral is struggling from a civil war against their Federation counterparts. I don't about Atlas though." the Entity said.
"I thought you knew everything, considering that you lived for so long!" Nora said.
"I may be an immortal being, but sometimes I lose track of some memories. I also only focus on things that interest me. Anyways, we will be watching something completely different to this world. No worries, though. We will be returning to this world after some viewings of other worlds, and I think I found another world that I find interesting."
"What's in it?" Ren asked.
"Something to do with five people in another apocalyptic world."
"Really? Are all the things we're viewing about apocalyptic stuff?" Emerald asked.
"This one is different though. You'll see."
With that, the Entity began activating the screen once again.
(A/N: So, if you've made it this far, chances are that you're interested in what other fanfic I was making. Well, this fanfic is called "Into the Rift." A remake of my previous work "Banana Bus x Goblin Slayer." I know, two things that are so unrelated to one another that it somehow works. Anyways, comment down below if you have any suggestions in my writing (and no, not suggestions or requests for reacting to other stories. Still need to work the kinks of my new story), it always helps me whenever I need to write other stuff. With that said, I bid you farewell. V 0-1, out.)
