SOTP: Yeah, I haven't updated in a while again and the last thing I should be writing is a four shot, I KNOW! But the movie promare is just amazing! And it's saddening that this site only has a few stories under this title! I decided to change that. This is going to follow some of plot of the film and skip to certain scenes while adding some others. I'm trying to flip the script, bitches!

Also it's a Lio/OC pairing because he was the best character in this whole film! Fight me.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, let's go!

The mad burnish threat had been dealt with after the thirty year fight against them. Their boss had finally been captured and all of promethlus was gathered to honor Galo Thymos. The hero who had courageously fought a heated battle against the mad burnish to win the victory for human kind. Ending the reign of the terrorist who would burn down buildings along with innocent people in the name of their cause.

Well, that's what the locals from the outside looking in would you. Thankfully though, you're getting the real story from me. The girl who was caught in the middle of this burnish war and stood along side the leader of mad burnish and the fire fighting idiot who helped end an even bigger threat to the earth.

Who am I? Gabriella Thymos. I'm a 20 year old collage student studying jewelry making, an artist who secretly draws burnish flame, and the baby sister to the idiot who apparent saved the whole damn city from the mad burnish. As soon as I heard the news, I left my last class of the day early to check on Galo and his friends. I was told by their team mate Aina, who's also a friend of mine that they went to get some pizza at their usual spot to celebrate. I got on my motorcycle and headed over. As soon as I arrived, I parked my bike and jumped off, not taking care to pay attention as I tripped on some gravel and I fell face first on the pavement.

There I was on the sidewalk, my shoulder length light blue hair in a complete mess, sticking up on one side while frizzed out on the other with dirt marks on my face. My brother might be the idiot, but I somehow ended up with the klutz gene in the family. I let out an exasperated sigh and called to Galo as I began to stand up, walking towards him. Hearing him snicker at how I made my grand entrance.

"Hey Gabs, want a slice of this? Tastes a whole lot better than that asphalt."

"Ha, ha, ha. Don't 'Hey gabs' me. I got a text from Aina when I got out of my afternoon class, did you really just jump into a fight with the mad burnish leader? Are you aware that trying to be a hero is going to get you killed?!"

"Aina! You said you wouldn't tell!" Galo turned to cry at the pink haired pony tailed girl sitting next to him.

"That's right, I didn't say anything. But you didn't say I couldn't text her." Aina replied with a smirk.

"That's the same thing!"

"GALO!" I screamed to get his attention.

He turned to me with a sheepish look on his face. As if I was about to scream his head off. Instead I sighed once more, smiled and pulled out a small box I had in my shoulder bag, which I handed to him. The box was light blue and had a gold sticker on the lid. Galo, slightly dumb founded, opened the box and his eyes grew wide with excitement.

The gift was a tiny glass pendent in the shape of a matoi flag on a sliver chain. Carefully Galo pulled it out and studied the gift before turning to me with a big goofy smile.

"I also watched the news in the town square. I was planning to to give this to you as a gift anyway. I made it in class to congratulate you on getting on the burning rescue force. I know you use something like that to fight with so, I thought this way you could always have one with you. I'm really proud of you Bro."

"Not as proud as I am to wear this hand crafted matoi! You must be the best in your class! This is awesome!" Galo said slipping it on.

He then got up from his chair and hugged me tightly. I hugged back gently, feeling squished under Galo's big bulky arms.

"It's the best gift. I'll never take it off, thanks sis."

"Sure, just stop making me worry." I ask as I pull away.

"Sorry, but when duty calls, my firefighter soul blazes to action! And with this, I know I can't lose!"

I smiled, glad that he enjoyed his gift. Galo was an idiot, but he was still my brother. After stealing a slice of pizza, I hopped back on my bike. I suddenly had to go somewhere to let off some steam. Not because I was angry, but because of secret even Galo didn't know I had.

After riding for an hour, I stopped at a frozen lake Galo and I found that one time we had a fight. We tried to get away from each other, and we both ended up calming down when we found each other here. This is now our secret place to come when we need to chill out. However, I also come here for another reason. I found my usual sitting place near a big oak tree and took deep breath as I held up hand.

A moment later, a light blue and yellow flame sparked and grew out of my hand, burning wildly. I let the flame burn and grow as much as I could without it becoming noticeable. That's right, my deepest secret was that I, the sister of a burning rescue fire fighter was a burnish. I'm not really sure how it happened, but I had my first spasm when I was eight and Galo was ten. An hour after my first burnish outbreak, Galo came running into my room to get me when our house was suddenly engulfed in flames. That was the night governor Kray apparently saved us.

But the flames that burnt down our house and almost took our lives, they weren't mine. The most my spasm managed to do was burn my favorite stuffed animal. Unlike other burnish, my flames aren't that strong. Which is actually a blessing, because I can keep my flames under control better than most. Had my flames been stronger, I would have been found out and Galo would hate me. I could never forgive self if that happened.

So I come here to let my flames burn when they need too, and keep them a secret. Part of me wishes I didn't, that I could share this part of myself with someone. Who would accept me for who I was. Even if I was considered a monster in the eyes of others. Sometimes I draw my flames on paper, trying to understand them and I even learned to fight with my flame, in case I have to defend myself. When I let my flame burn, I can hear voices. Because my flame is so weak, it only sounds like whispers, but I can tell that they want to burn, even if they can't burn that brightly. As strange as it is, it feels like my flames are another being inside me. One I can sympathies with. Yet even so, I still would like to be able to bond someone who knew what I was going through.

Suddenly I heard a noise break the silence in my peaceful surrounding. I then looked up to see pink and mint green colored flame shot across the sky like a shooting star and fell down towards a cave about a mile from where I was. With next to no hesitation, I jumped on my bike and headed towards the flame as if it was calling me. In fact I knew it was.

When I arrived close enough, I parked my bike behind some brush and walked the rest of the way, to keep myself hidden. About five minutes later, I could see the entrance to the cave. I climbed down the hill and entered quietly. I didn't have any idea what I getting into after all. A moment later, two figures appeared out of the shadows. I readied myself to fight, then gasped when they figures turned out to be a pair of kids.

One a girl and one a boy, brother and sister. At seeing their poor appearance, my heart stopped. They were dressed in ragged clothing and looked like they haven't eaten for days. If they were with that flame that landed near by, it was safe to assume they were burnish who by some miracle escaped from the foundation. Galo never paid any attention to gossip, but I often heard of rumors that foresight labs was experimenting on burnish. Using humans as labs was sick enough, but kids? That was beyond low.

Wanting to help, I got down my knees to their level and set down my backpack. Slowly, in a calm voice I spoke while I released my flames. The two kids looked at me with surprise but seemed slightly more relaxed, knowing I was like them.

"It's ok. I'm a burnish too and I want to help. I've got snacks here, are you hungry?"

The girl, still a bit uncertain, came up to me slowly. When she got close enough, I reached into my bag and pulled out a small pack of chips and a chocolate bar. Galo always loaded me down with snacks before I went hiking. He said it was to help keep up my stamina, but I think it's really because he knows my secret love of junk food. Carefully, gently, I took both of her tiny hands into one of mine and placed both treats into them. Letting her know that I wasn't afraid of them. The girl let her defenses down a little more and gave me a small smile as her went back to her brother and gave him half of the chocolate bar.

I was about to look in my bag for some juice to give them as well before they both ran off further into the cave. I quickly gathered my bag to run after them, but I didn't get very far when I was suddenly grabbed by the neck and slammed up against the nearest wall. A grip that felt like a pythons tightened as I began having a hard time to breath. My capture summoned a flame from his other hand. Causing me to gasp when I noticed the same pink and green flames from before. A pair of orange- violet colored eyes stared me down as a a low yet threating voice spoke while my capture allowed his flame to get closer to my face, and I felt scared as the heat grew.

"If you don't want to be burned alive, you'll tell me what you're doing here. I don't kill without a reason, but I won't allow the burnish to be Kray Foresights lab rats any longer either."

"I-I'm not with him! I came alone, I'm a burnish too! I came here to let my flame burn where no one would find me and I saw your flame! "

"What?!" The voice asked surprised.

I then held my hand and summoned my flame again. My aqua green eyes stared deep into those burning orange-violet orbs as my capture gasped and suddenly released me. I coughed hard as I fell to my knees and could finally breath normal again. I felt warm, hand gently placed itself on my shoulder while helping me to sit up.

"I'm truly sorry, I didn't know." Said the voice of a man in a more gentle tone.

"It's-cough-ok. You're running from the Foresight foundation right? You can't be too careful." I replied with a smile in my voice.

"You're right, but still I apologize."

"Well, you can make it up to me by letting me see you're face. It's dark in here."

A second later, the pink-green flame was summoned once more and I could now see the facial features of a young man very clearly. His face was as striking as his orange- violet colored eyes. His build was thin and frail, yet I could tell he was no stranger to fighting, and his shoulder length hair, that appeared to be a shade between blond and a very light mint green, framed his face perfectly. He seemed to be my age, maybe older only by a year. He voice was claim and steady as he spoke.

"I take it you noticed my flame when I landed here."

"That's right, and I wanted to see if it was a run away burnish looking for help."

A small crunch noise made the man look down to see the boy eating the candy I gave him. He then looked back at me with a gentler look on his face. After looking into my eyes for a few moments and coming to believe that he could trust me, the man closed his eyes, as if to take a sigh of relief.

"Follow me. There's something you should see." He said while turning around and walking down the cave, using his flame to light the way. I did the same as the two kids ran ahead and I followed him.

"What's you're name?" The man asked me a second later, catching me a little off guard.

"Gabriella. Gabriella Thymos."

At the instant I said my last name, the man turned towards me with a look of shock and suspicion on his face.

"You're not a related to a Galo Thymos, are you?"

"So I guess you're that mad burnish he took down earlier. Yeah, he's my brother. But he's doesn't know I'm a burnish. My flames are weak so I've gotten very good at hiding them from my brother and others. "

The man turned forward once more and smirked to himself before snickering quietly.

"He doesn't even know his own sister's a burnish, what an idiot."

"Yeah trust me, I wouldn't be able to get away with being burnish if he wasn't one."

I added, making him laugh before getting serious again.

"Galo doesn't know you're here right?"

"No. I promise."

"Alright, then I think I can trust you to believe what you're about to see."

"Wait a sec, before we go any further, can I ask what you're name is?"

The man turned around to face me, gazing at me with those mysterious eyes of his. Eyes that held anger, sadness and pain. Yet I don't think it own his own. His voice made my whole body tremble as he answered me in a low voice.

"It's Lio Fotia"

"That's a nice name, it suits you."

My compliment seemed to throw him off guard a bit as I noticed a slight blush on his face. He quickly turned forward and lead me towards a large violet bond fire with a group of people huddled around. I gasped in shock to see that they all were dressed as the same two kids from earlier. Most of them with bandages and scars on their faces and bodies. Along with one girl who was lying on the ground, suffering from an intense pain.

"Are they all?" I started to ask as Lio answered me.

"Burnish that were being held captive at the foresight foundation. You heard how you're brother is a so called 'hero' for capturing us? Our plan was let us get captured so as to sneak in and free all the people you see here."

I turned towards Lio concern. Almost unable to believe what he was saying. Kray Foresight was considered a hero in the eyes of the people. He was Galo's hero and inspiration, and the one who saved us both from the fire that almost killed us. Yet at the same time there was no denying what was in front of me.

"I heard of how Kray Foresight was experimenting on the burnish for some project, but I thought it was just a rumor and I didn't think it was this bad. What on earth could he need to experiment on so many burnish for?"

"I don't know, but he's not going to do this to them ever again, not if I have a say in it."

I then noticed all the food in a small bag near the group. It must have been since any of them had something to eat that was half way decent. Lio watched me in curiosity as I took off my back pack, pulling out several food items like chips, candy and couple of bottles of juice and soda.

"What's all that? Lio asked me as he bent down next to me.

"I like to go hiking to get inspiration for my drawings and Galo tends to over stuff my back pack out of worry. I should have enough drinks and snacks for everyone here, if it's ok."

Lio looked at me surprised and it didn't take me long to figure out why. I was a burnish, but I was raised around the people who hurt, killed and look down on other burnish. I should've had the same opinion of them like everyone else. Except I wasn't like everyone else. I knew I was a burnish and I couldn't ignore this while trying to pretend I was normal. Not while others like me were suffering. After looking into my eyes for what felt like hours, Lio nodded and took some of the juices from my bag.

"Here, I'll help you hand them out." Lio offered.

"Thanks."

"No, thank you." He replied to me with a gentle look on his face.

After handing everything out, I had one lone bottle of juice left. I found Lio sitting on a rock, keeping watch for any danger. I don't why, but I couldn't shake the feeling that he wanted to tell me something but didn't know how. I walked over and sat down next to him on the ground, holding the juice bottle up to him.

"Here, you can have the last one."

"Tell me, what are you're thoughts on all this?"

"What do you mean?" I asked as he took the bottle from me.

"You're a burnish, and yet you were raised by humans who are against us, around Kray Foresight. Do you believe me when I tell you that he's the one who experimented on and killed our kind? Or do you think he's a hero like the mask he hides behind?"

Lio asked me this question in anger and squeeze his hand in a fist. I could tell he was angered by what happened to his people, and how he was saddened as well. Gently I placed my hand on his, which made Lio calm down slightly. He gazed at me with look of loneliness and hope. As if despite knowing I could just be using him and turn him into Kray, deep down he wanted to trust me. I wanted him to trust me too, I felt like he needed someone to trust, and I wanted to be that person. Because I was same.

"I believe you. Galo looks up to Kray because he saved us and put him in burning rescue. But I can't trust him as easily as my brother does. Not after the rumors I heard and finding out there true like this. Plus I'm a burnish myself, even if I pass as a normal human, I'm not. And there's no way I can just sit back and walk away from this."

Lio smiled at me as he spoke.

"Thank you, I'm almost jealous of Galo. He's an idiot and yet he's lucky enough to have someone like you."

"You make it sound like I'm his girlfriend." I joked.

Making Lio snicker.

"So, what's the plan? You all can't just hide out in this cave right?"

"There's a settlement for the burnish in the desert far east. The helicopter we took to escape would be to easy to spot. My friends, Gueira and Meis went to find a truck that could carry everyone." Lio explaned.

"That's good. All of you should get out of here while you're safe."

Lio turned to look at me and noticed the forlorn sadness in my eyes.

"I'd offer, but I know you can't come with us. You have family and a life here that any burnish would dream of having."

"Doesn't mean I don't want to come. I feel like this is the first time I've actually connected with someone who understands me. But maybe we can meet again sometime. If you come back, I'd be glad to sneak you guys supplies and things, Lio."

"You would do that?" Lio asked.

I nodded as we both stood up. Suddenly an old man approached Lio who quickly went to the side of the girl who on the ground. After trying to save her with CPR, she turned into ash and began fading away. I felt a cold chill through out my whole body. I suddenly knew what happened to burnish when they die and I fell to the ground shaking and crying as Lio came over and kneeled down next to me.

"You didn't know, did you? That the burnish turn to ash when we die?"

"No...I...didn't...and I can't believe Kray foresight does this to you, treating you like throw away garbage when he's done with you...THAT'S SICK!"

Suddenly my flame started to burn around my whole body, not strong enough to cause damage but enough to surround me. Blue and yellow flames began shoot from everywhere as I gasped and started to pant nervously. Suddenly, just when I started to feel scared like I was losing my grip on my mind, Lio quicklwrapped his arms around me from out of nowhere. Completely distracted by the sudden embrace, I had no idea that my flames started to clam down almost immediately. Hesitantly, I wrapped my arms around Lio's back, gripping him tight. He's frame was even smaller than I thought. Yet still strong and gentle, with a scent similar to lavender surrounding him.

"What was that, Lio?" I asked stuttering, to which the burnish boss answered quietly.

"Our flames are apart of us, so naturally they respond to our feelings including anger. To keep your life the way it has been, you'll need to control your emotions. Even if you're flames weak, it can still grow stronger the more intensely you feel towards something."

We let go of each other and I nodded to assure Lio that I understood. Just then two other guys showed up and approached Lio. They were the friends he said that went to find a vehicle and had found one big enough to take everyone. Lio nodded and asked them to help the injured into the truck before turning back to me as I stood up.

"Time to go, huh?"

"Yes, I trust you won't follow us." Lio said with the same serious look he had on his face earlier.

"I won't, I promise you can go in peace. And I'm not gonna let this pass either, I'll talk to Kray Foresight myself and figure out what happening. You all deserve the same peace I have! It's not fair that I have this freedom while you don't..."

Lio seemed shocked at first, but smiled while closing his eyes, shaking his head in the process.

"I appreciate your empathy, believe me I do. But all we want is to live peacefully. You have that and more, please don't risk it just for us."

Lio then turned to leave but I quickly grabbed him by his wrist to stop him. I knew he was right, but I couldn't shake the feeling that when he left, things we're only to get worst for him. I decided to leave him at least something so he would know that I'm his friend. As he turned to me, I took off a small keychain in the shape of a star from my bag and placed the item in his hand.

"So you don't forget me...I hope we can meet again soon, Lio." I said smiling as I turned to leave.

I took my nearly empty bag and ran for the exit. Unaware of the small smile Lio had on his face as he stuck the small charm in his pocket and turned leave while whispering softly.

"Thank you, Gabriella."

SOTP: Ok! Not bad! Hopefully I'll get the next chapter of this and my Yugioh zexal story up soon. Please leave nice reviews!
