Things were going great until "What the hell are Darks doing here!"

The whole café turned to look at the couple in the door way, the women was pointing at the darks while sneering. Before anyone could say anything, the cashier started to say a clearly well-used speech.

"Please leave we at Sanders Café don't condone discrimination of any kind and if you cannot keep your thoughts to yourself we must ask you to leave the premise before we call the authorities" The casher said in a monotone voice clearly done with bigots.

"No, I demand to get my food but I refuse to be in the same establishment as those freaks" The man said walking up to the cashier so the group get their first good look at the couple.

"Father?" Roman said confused wondering why he hadn't noticed how bigoted his family was before now. The man turned to the group once more and saw Duke sitting next to his son, the man's eyes widened and he looked almost panicked.

"Honey what are you doing with Dark's I thought we taught you better" The women spoke up for the first time giving her husband a chance to gather his wits.

"I'm just hanging out with my friends what's so wrong with that" Roman asked feigning confusion.

"Well it's great you're hanging out with friends but Dark's can't be friends they will only hurt you" Roman's mother said sneering at the three Dark's especially Duke.

"That is, it you must leave now or I will call the police" The cashier said coming out from behind the counter and walked to the couple.

"Do you know who we are if you reject our service I will crush this business" Roman's Father said trying to intimate the cashier but it didn't seem to be working.

"I know exactly who you are and I think these young teenagers will be much better clientele so leave" The cashier said crossing their arms. Roman's Mother scoffed but started to walk out trying to pull Roman with her.

Roman pulled out of her grip and went back to his friends standing next to Deceit "I'm staying here with my friends I will be home by curfew." Roman's mother stared at her son then turned to the Dark's but realized she couldn't do anything without letting some skeletons out of the closet, so she and her husband left tail between their legs. The customers cheered but soon went back to their own business and the cashier had to leave to help another customer leaving the group alone once more

"Thank you" Duke said his voice trembling slightly but only Deceit and Anxiety noticed having known Duke for so long.

"To be honest Duke I think you dodged a bullet being raised by that banshee" Anxiety said only slightly joking, but it worked and the rest of the group started to chuckle.

"I can't believe I didn't notice how horrible they were before now" Roman sighed thinking back to all the times he didn't notice and was saddened on how many there were.

"Hey some people say love is blind" Patton said trying to comfort Roman but not sure how.

After a few moments of silence Deceit spoke up "You cannot be blamed for the sins of your family you are not your parents you can be better and you already are." Roman smiled and nodded his head in thanks, that was like poking a hole in a balloon and the rest of the afternoon was spent eating pastry's and making jokes. Anxiety looked at his watch and cursed then he showed it to Deceit who also cursed all three of them stood up.

"I'm sorry we have to go we have something we need to do an cannot be late for it" Deceit said purposely keeping it vague because it wasn't the most legal of ventures.

"Alright see you tomorrow" Patton said cheerfully hugging all three of them and waving good-bye.

"What do you think they are doing" Logan asked once the Dark's were out of there view.

"Probably something illegal" Patton said in the same cheery voice.

"Don't you think it is wrong to assume that it's illegal" Logan said staring at Patton like he was an alien species.

"Because they were purposely vague and well a may or may not have pickpocketed them and found a slip that was the address of a fight" Patton said showing Logan the slip with a bit more pride then normal.

"Should we follow them" Logan inquired staring at where the Dark's had left.

"Of course, think of the adventure" Roman said dramatically and Patton excitedly nodded in agreement, before Logan could protest Roman and Patton were already walking away.

Logan easily caught up with them and said "I just want to go on record saying that this is a bad idea."

"Noted" Patton and Roman chirped back used to Logans play by the rules behavior.
