Chapter 8
Donnie's POV
I felt bad. I had failed her. I had failed them all.
Again.
As I was trying to figure out how to fix the antidote so it actually worked, Raph barged into my lab, startling me.
"Donatello, I don't know what you did, but something's happening to her."
Immediately worried (and also a little hopeful) I followed Raph to the couch, where Leo and Mikey were sitting on either side of her, looking worried.
She was super pale, and looked about three seconds from passing out, which she did as I tried to ask her what was wrong.
Oh sewer apples...
"What do we do, Donnie?" Leo asked me. I shivered, lifting her carefully in my arms.
"I gotta bring her to the lab. M-maybe the antidote failed, o-or she could be having an allergic reaction..." I stuttered, trying to calm my nerves. Oh no, oh no, oh no...
What had I done?
I worked feverishly on the antidote. She was still unconscious. It had been... two weeks? Three? I didn't know. Time was lost on me.
I had the dilator hooked up to her arm. It was probably the only thing keeping her alive...
I felt bad. I had to fix her. I had to save her, get her memories back.
If I failed again... If I couldn't...
"Donnie? Are you still awake?" Leo poked his head in.
I nodded, carefully dropping a few droplet of mutagen into a vial of the new antidote to test it.
"Dude, it's past 3 in the morning." Leo frowned.
"Ming might not have much more time." I snarled back, jotting down the results of the test.
Leo sighed. "You know that she wouldn't want you to push yourself like this for her sake."
"I don't care!" I growled. "I need to get this right!"
"DONATELLO!" Leo yelled at me. I flinched.
"Go to bed. Now!" He commanded.
I sighed. Maybe he was right. Maybe... maybe it could wait until morning...
Ming wouldn't want me to push myself like this... I nodded to Leo, and got up from my desk, stretching. I glanced over at Ming, then headed to my room.
