"I'm Inside You"

"Dammit, why won't this door open!" Shaking the door knob in frustration she shouted. The blonde wouldn't respond, but she could hear something moving on the other side of the door. She swore she could hear muffled laughter on the other side. They talked about this for fuck's sake!

Stopping, she released a breath of air she'd been holding for a while in exasperation as she turned to face her unfortunate guest from earlier to get her mind off the annoying brat she had goaded out here. A ten meter centipede lay split in half messily down the middle, lit ablaze no more than 10 feet from her. The bastard thought it could sneak up on her while she was preoccupied, but even with it's camouflage she could still make out it's chakra network. "Not so slick now are ya cunt." She rubbed her hand over the large gash on her side. While it wasn't tough, it still left it's mark if the seeping blood flowing down her side was anything to go by. Those mandibles were no joke, and that bastard was surprisingly agile for something that size. She'd be lucky if an infection didn't set in.

More rustling sounded from the perimeter of the clearing, She turned towards the origin of the noise, and would you know it, three of the same species of centipede rushed out of the woods aiming for her. She jumped high, and as far back as she could as they crashed into the shack, shattering a window, and causing stuff to fall from the window on top of the bugs as their hefty bodies strained against the wooden structure. A mass of rotten something dripped, and spread across their heads as they seemed to become docile, perhaps knocked unconscious from the force of the impact.

"That's revolting…" she muttered as she prepared for the bugs to get up, and come at her again, but she apparently wasn't on the menu anymore. They were now the food primed, and ready for serving as the 'something' seemed to engulf them, and spread across their entire body, morphing them horribly. Their forms began to merge, and reform as their legs ripped themselves away from the body, and all of their heads fused as their 'torsos' combined. Flesh meeting flesh as their armor also seemed to connect at the edges, and by the end of it she was looking at a gigantic fleshy bastardization of what she had previously already killed. A larger, more dangerous infected juggernaut centipede.

"Aww shit!" she squealed as she dodged a rather violent swing of it's tail as it split the earth where she once stood with the impact of it's thrust weight. The now much stronger abomination of centipede's bared it's exceedingly large fangs protruding from the gore of it's merged faces, and lunged at her aiming to cripple her through bisection. Right as it was about to make contact, a kunai sailed into view past Mizuki's face, the tag attached to it lit up for but a moment, before detonating in it's face blinding it momentarily, and dealing light damage to it's carapace as it's assailant dove in to move Mizuki out of the way of it's path of destruction.

"You couldn't have just stuck with me back there? I thought we had it understood between us that these woods have gotten far too dangerous to go alone, and be a hero in?" Her savior mocked her good-naturally as he set her down on her feet. Now look who's trying to be a hero. It was like a character flaw everyone in this village seemed to have.

The red of her face stood out, and contrasted the white hair she is known for as she realized who it was that had found her. "Knock that shit out Iruka, we still got a beast to slay, and a kid to find." She lamented trying to cover up her embarrassment with a shield of duty. An unearthly shriek interrupted their moment as a shadow cast over them, and the freaky bug dove in for it's late night snack.

"It's a good thing I came prepared." Said Iruka as he hastily pulled a long metal tube from the sling he carried on his back, and ignited one end of it before aiming the other at the creature. A sharp whistle went off as light unleashed itself from the confines of the tube, and detonated in the creatures maw in a flash of colors, and a symphony of noise. "Fire works? You brought fireworks of all things?!" Mizuki was shocked by his stupidity, but even more so by the fact it worked. "It seemed like a good idea ya know?" he supplied shrugging while scratching his cheek awkwardly, before he returned to what he was doing, and loaded another mini rocket, and prepared to fire it. "Not everyone's got the chakra to sling fireballs everywhere all the time after all." He pulled the trigger again.

With precision the larger shell found a home in the bugs face, and the AOE blast erupted around the creature in a much larger explosion than before. The beast staggered backwards as flames licked at it's wounds, and began moving it's mandibles rapidly as clicking sounds echoed through the forest. The ground began to lightly shake, and the centipede abruptly turned around withdrawing from the flames, before crawling inside the shack's broken window. Readying a Katon jutsu Iruka prepared to fire it until Mizuki grabbed a hold of his arm. Shocked, Iruka looked over at his friend questionably. "I think the boys inside, I heard him in there…" she trailed off as she broke eye contact. 'How am I gonna get out of this?' she thought to herself 'There's gotta be some way for me to retain my cover. Maybe I can talk to the boy later. Orochimaru-sama I'll finish my mission soon, it's just gonna take longer then anticipated.' she sighed before returning her focus to Iruka who had immediately stopped his preparations as soon as she told him the news.

Iruka panicked. Looking back at the shack, he took in it's appearance. "Are you sure Naruto's in there? That shack isn't even big enough for the centipede, how'd it even fit inside?" he questioned. "Maybe it burrowed, I tried the door earlier, while I could hear the kid on the other side, he didn't answer the door, just ignored me." she recalled the sounds from earlier. 'At least I think that was him' The bullshit with the centipede made her question everything, and even if she didn't like the boy she wouldn't be wishing that shit upon him. "We can follow it through the window now though, so entering won't be a problem. Let's hope the boys okay." 'Lets hope I'm okay after all is said, and done.' They had reached the perimeter of the shack, and Iruka looked in by leaning through the window, before pulling out quickly white as a ghost. "M-Mizuki are you sure Naruto was in here?" he questioned a second time as he turned around, and leaned against the wall under the window. Furrowing her brow, she was a bit shocked at his reaction, and rather curious at what he had seen."Iruka whats wrong, what did you see?" she asked as she stepped up next to his sitting form, grabbing his shoulder, before she made the mistake of looking inside herself.

"Were gonna need help with this…" she all but whispered as she backed away from the window. They weren't gonna be able to get such help in time.

They were gonna have to go in now, no matter what.

Hiruzen gazed over the village as he stood atop the tiled roof of the Hokage tower. It was a clear night, the air was cool, and crisp, and the moon had almost reached it's highest point with only a few clouds to hide it's visage as it cast it's glow across the land. Only half of his squads had returned, and some of them came back with some pretty interesting stories.

Some had come back with corpses of some of the things they had found, and some of them were quite a shock to see. He recalled a meeting he had With Tsume after her squad had returned from one of their patrols. Some of their kennel mates had gone missing, and when they found them… they had been changed irreversibly, and there was no real better way to put it.

The dog's fur had been blackened, it's height nearing seven feet on all fours. Tsume approached the canine, treading carefully so as not to spook the beast that wore an all too familiar collar round it's neck. Kuromaru was in for a shock when she returned with his pup in tow.

According to Tsume the pup had been but a few months old. There was only one person he could think of that liked to mess with the natural state of things. Looking down at the pocket he had place the scrolls in, he pondered what it could all mean. 'Orochimaru my old student… is this your doing? These transformations… are reminiscent of your old work.' His mind was set, and to him this was indeed his students work, and that would be problematic. Not only would it mean he had been closer than he thought, but it meant he had truly gone far beyond what he believed him morally capable. 'What morals? He proved those non existent the moment he began his experiments. All these missing peoples cases.. are these also your doing? What are you thinking my old student. What could you be after?' Orochimaru was a prime choice to blame for this, after considering his history, and thinking back on the boy – now man named 'Tenzo.' He took a puff of his pipe while he waited for preferably good news to head his way. Maybe he could get some answers to what was happening as well, and perhaps more importantly, find out what was going on with his grandson in all but blood.

My still-beating heart, hold on just a bit longer.

Iruka attempted to calm his nerves, but there was only so much you could do after… seeing all that. Walls of flesh were not a norm for even ninja. It's not like he wasn't used to the sight of blood, and gore. He had been a field ninja before, but that had been long ago, before he became the academy teacher he is today, who urged the new generation, his students forward. Thinking back on it, he really just wanted to help in his own way, and being able to nurture his students into fine shinobi was the path he had taken. It helped that his friend had joined in alongside him at the academy. He really couldn't ask for a better friend than Mizuki.

He didn't always look at Naruto the way he did now. With what kindness he could, and the understanding he liked to convey to the young man. The instinctual need the boy emitted in attempts to stand out, and separate himself from the monster everyone though he was in time inspired the man, and helped his understand how similar they were in their own ways. He used to look at him with those same eyes that most others did, the cold cruel ones laced with overwhelming hatred. Sometimes believing something can be tough, and it had been for a long time. The death's of his parents had left a hole that refused to be filled, and in his misguided wallowing, and self pity he had aimed that hatred at a small boy who had no-one in this world.

He had not deserved the treatment he received, and he more than understood that now. He was but a boy dealt with a tragic hand by a bored god. Orphaned at birth for the betterment of a village that would do nothing but look upon you with such foul thoughts your entire life. Only small glimmers of hope would peek through the veil to keep him away from the edge of damnation. Life was hard for a normal orphaned child, what do you make of an orphaned Jinchūriki?

Standing, albeit a little shakily he gazed through the window frame for a while, before gripping its edges. He'd wallow later, that was in the past. Naruto needed him. "Don't you even think about it!" Mizuki shouted as quietly as she could. "There's no other choice for me." the deadly seriousness in his voice shocked Mizuki quite a bit. What happened to the Happy go lucky, strict teacher guy she's been working with this entire time?. "Naruto's like a little brother to me, I can't just leave him in there.. if he's even in there…" he turned his attention back to the window. He prayed for his safety. "Your either in or out, make your choice now." He turned with a subdued smile. "I'll be honest though, I'd really like your company down there."

There was no need to answer. He climbed straight into the window, and she followed right behind. Even if she didn't get anything from this, it wasn't like she could just leave her 'friend' to die by himself right? "You better have a fucking plan. That thing certainly isn't gonna run if we run into it again." she muttered angrily as she stepped down on the fleshy floor, and examined the room. "I'm sure well think of something when we get there." a small smile crossed his face, though a little green for obvious reasons. "Fucking great…" Why even bother asking this idiot?

The interior of the room was horrendous, it was like they were inside the remains of someone, or the internals of a heart if it had periodic bits of stone, and wood making up it's structure. The walls pulsed, and they could swear they heard things crawling underneath them. The shelves on the room were mostly knocked over, and overgrown with tendrils of the 'flesh' lacing over each other burying the shelving. The far corner of the room was dug up, and a large hole was dug out seeming to be formed from the same flesh material as the walls of the building. "I guess we know where it went?" joked Mizuki, though you could hear the apprehension in her voice. Sighing, he approached the hole, and looked down. You couldn't even see the bottom, it was nothing but darkness all the way down. A darkness he was willing to jump headfirst into if it was to save someone precious to him.

And so he did. Deep into the dark below he threw himself.

Ignoring the cry of shock behind him which faded as the distance became immense, he fell a while before channeling chakra into his extremities, and began to slow his descent by surfing down the metal surface of the cylindrical hole. The sound of something ripping through the air met his ears. The sound having drawn his ears encouraged him to look up, he saw Mizuki falling a ways above, but coming down faster then him having not chosen to slow her descent in favor of catching up with him. He held his hand out "Grab on!"

Reaching a hand out in anticipation, she latched upon him, and after fixing herself to the wall, they gave each other a final nod, before they began heading the rest of the way down, slowly sliding down into the abyss.

His body had went through hell but he remained, just barely alive. Even if he had been made aware of the true severity of the situation, and the changes his body had underwent, he would be unable to stop it, or the path he now walked upon. Such stones could not be relayed quick enough, and he would have to travel this yellow brick road.

An orchestra of shifting bones sharply pierced the silence of the atmospheric chamber of gore as it tore through muscle, flesh, and bone with it's wicked melody. Weakly a set of eyes fluttered open, what was once blue now a menacing red flickering back, and forth with the blue as consciousness set in, and he began to regain 'control' of his situation. His body hung there battered with a mess of gnarly wounds, welts, and gashes. A Large gaping hole tore open in his back from which the room itself oozed, and flowed from wriggling to life. A brilliant orange chakra flowed along the intrusions of the defiler's creation, violently fighting against the unwelcome invaders feeding off of it's host.

Fully awakening, he tilted his head upwards and gazed forward at the figure stood opposite to him, staring down upon his battered form with nothing, but the amusement of someone messing with a new toy. "Finally awake now are we? You can't be passing out like that from a mere 'fondling.' How can you expect to survive everything else I have planned if that's already more then you can take?" It was mocking him while he was down, and threatening him. If he could move, you bet he'd put the bastard on the ground, but really what was he gonna do.

"Y-you bastard! When I get out of here I'll—"

"You'll do what? Nothing. You are ours now, and any attempts to impede our progress will inevitably result in your death. Your body can't live without us now, it requires our presence to continue function. So what will you do? Fight us, and die leaving your dreams, and 'precious people' behind?Attempt to escape, dragging behind you the manifestation of death in your wake? Or will you recognize your place in this world, and intelligently BEND to OUR will? There is no need to worry, when I release you, you'll be able to serve us earnestly, and besides… were not giving you a choice here anyway. Your ours now, and even we cannot null that." it cut him off dismissively as it lifted an infected looking appendage to pat him on the head like a pet as it attempted to dismantle the little fight he had left.

"Now why don't you be a good host, and endure our nesting phase. This body of yours is rather useful, continually generating matter for our use, producing sustenance for the converted. Your sacrifice will be very beneficial in sustaining our place in this world." it finished before touching his forehead, causing the intrusions to spasm as they violently knock him out cold.

"This place will no doubt be found soon, but that shouldn't matter. The conversion is happening rather quickly, it's a shame that 'chakra' of yours is preventing total subjugation. Most would have completely broke by now." The robed figure mulled over the one thing that stood against it. An unknown power that decided to show itself the moment it began forming the nest. Glowing eyes spun as it approached the 'core' of it's nest, before something lured away it's attention. "hmmm" Tilting it's head upwards, glowing eyes gazed at the ceiling as if it were looking through to the other side. "It looks like we have guests." the words drawled from it's form which held no orifice to vocalize as the blood in the walls stopped flowing, before beginning to pump in the opposite direction.

"Why don't we say hello, hmm?"

Drowning is not what you want to be doing when you first open your eyes to the world of consciousness. Water begins to fill the areas air once dominated. The body being ill-prepared, and relaxed, as the air has already disappeared from your lungs from involuntary bodily function. Panicking, he began to flail in place as he tried to not drown. It took him a couple seconds before he realized a rather critical piece of information. He could touch the bottom. Planting his feet, he stood, and noticed with heavy embarrassment that the water only reached his knees. It was dark, that was all he could be certain of. This place was an unknown, water reached his knees, and as he traveled farther, and farther the water seemed to rise beyond his waist. Wet clothes weighed him down, and the water made It extremely difficult to navigate as there was a current pushing back against him, one that he could barely fight against.

Pushing himself desperately against the waves, he followed the sound that seemed to be luring him deeper into the tunnel-like water maze. He had been here before, but it wasn't flooded then, and there certainly weren't giant veins encircling the pipes that ran through the flooded complex.

Focused, eyes forward, Naruto strode through the darkness, while he wasn't sure how he got here from that hell, he was glad to be free from his captivation. "What was it even doing to me?" he felt his body to examine the damage he'd taken, but was surprised to find that there was none, there wasn't even pain. "Eh hehe, guess I can heal from anything." to be honest he'd healed from similar states before, just nothing as bad. He continued on his way through the waves. As he waddled past the water his foot caught on something solid. Looking down through the water, he noticed a metal handle sticking out of the ground. "What? Why would this be here?" he questioned as he leaned over and began to pull on it. The metal gave and followed his hand as a chain attached to it pulled free from a slot in the floor.

Moving parts moved against each other as their noise found it's way through the darkness. The grinding of gears interrupted the silence as the ground began to shift, and the water began to recede. A large staircase heading down formed from the stone in front of, and below him, and while shocked at the reveal – that did not stop him from heading down it's immense steps. Each and every step a head taller then he was, if he were to need to run he wouldn't be able to make it up in time. He could hear the whispers, and they were getting closer. Just a couple more steps now, and he would find what he had been following every time he came here. The familiar one calling his name, an echo of a memory long since lost. As he hopped down to the next step he swore he could see a blonde man standing below him.

It must have been his imagination.

Landing at the bottom he looked forth. He could see his destination, a large orange barrier had bubbled out that seemed to stop the 'veins' in their tracks. Even the water which was only toe deep at this point seemed to recede fully on the other side beyond the veil. Walking up to the bubbling goo, he reached out to gently prod at it, but before he could make contact am unknown force pushed him forward, and through the bubble causing him to tumble, and land square on his face.

"It's about time you showed yourself ningen. Come, step forward. As much as I hate it, we need to talk," A deep roaring voice echoed against the walls of the spacious chamber he had found himself launched unto. He slowly removed his face from the floor, rubbing it to sooth the pain as he looked around to find the source of the inhuman voice. The room was for the most part empty, except for one wall. Large hexagonal bars of steel rose from the floor connecting to the ceiling. "H-Hello?" he called out to the unknown unsure of what he would find. Standing, he took cautious steps making his way to the bars. There was probably enough room for him to fit through them, and while the voice hadn't exactly sounded friendly, it wasn't like he had found anything else down here, and well… he needed answers as to what this place was, and why he was here now. It's not like there was anyone else down there.

"I wouldn't go in there if I were you hehe!" A high pitched voice giggled behind him as he swung around in surprise only to be greeted by the sight of nothing but air. The chamber began to tremble, and he turned back around only to have to dodge out of the way as a large orange furred claw came sailing past him lifting up dust as it palmed the ground. "Heh It was worth a shot." The voice came again as large red eyes opened revealing themselves in the darkness beyond the large metal gate. A maw filled with razor sharp teeth appeared as whatever it was grinned menacingly down towards him.

Retracting it's house-sized claw back into the cage, it stared seeming to focus on something behind him, before directing it's attention back onto Naruto. It sighed heavily before peeking it's head out of the dark. It's appearance causing Naruto's to stumble as he realized what it was. "Your the Kyubi.. aren't you dead? Wait does that mean-" He frantically looked around as he took in the room around him. A dark place with no way out, where the Kyubi who had died was now talking to him. "-I'm in Hell?! Why did I go to hell, I'm not a demon!?, an-" "Your not dead stupid." he shut up almost instantly as the fox held it's gaze on him. "Though if we don't do something soon death will be the least of your worries." It voiced seeming irritated at the boys reaction.

"Huh?! What do you mean? Where am I, and who was that behind me?" He began to think back to what was going on before he came here. How exactly had he gotten out of there? Those heavy injuries don't just heal themselves. "Your still there, and don't worry about them just yet." He heard the fox say. "This isn't the outside. Your in your mind right now, and this… this is where I've been for the last fifteen years." Salt laced it's words as the memories of it's sealing came to the forefront of it's mind. "I was sealed inside you by your leader the day you spawned from that harlots womb. Your still just as injured out there, and definitely still trapped at the moment."

"Crap, what am I gonna do? I wanna kick it's ass, but I'm super hurt. It's crawling inside my body, and I'm not sure I can really fight it." The being that had trapped, and violated him was extremely dangerous, fighting it would be suicide. Without him even realizing it could no doubt acquire some kind of control over him, and simply force him to listen to it. "I can help with that, you just have to listen to what I say. I'm fighting it back right now, and somewhat holding it off, but there's only so much I can do when I'm restricted like this." It motions to the gate, and a seal tag appears where the lock would be on the cage doors. "However if you were to remove this seal, I could definitely take care of the heathen!" it snapped at the word heathen, apparently angry at it for whatever reason.

Naruto put his arms up in a cross before exclaiming. "No, If I remove that seal, if what you've been saying is the truth, you'll just escape, and destroy the village like you tried last time." he responded defiantly. "There's gotta be another way, then letting you loose, and besides my sensei should be on her way right now to find me, and she'll definitely be able to kick this things ass." he finished satisfied with his conclusion. "Foolish ningen, that 'sensei' of yours hates your guts, she'd sooner let you die then risk her life saving you. You were just a convenient tool she could use to get her hands on that scroll which you stole." It countered his logic with what it believed to be the cold hard truth. Surely this 'ningen' wasn't a complete idiot right?

"Maybe… but she still needs that scroll right? The only way she's getting it is if someone takes care of 'wet, and nasty' right?" He admitted blandly as his eyes dulled for moments revealing his true feelings on the situation. The look was gone before the fox could blink, but the message had been clear. He was aware of the possibility he was being used, but what options did he have? He clung to the mere hope that the offer she provided was a real one, and despite everything he had went through, he took the risk to find out for himself.

Kyubi for his part was taken aback. The kid up to this point had been nothing but an idiot when it came to people. Here he was showing a side that the fox had never seen before, despite having watched a good bit of his life through his eyes. "So you've known the entire time that-"

"Yeah… but I guess the risk was worth the reward at the time." He gave a small sad smile, before slowly looking around at the dark sewer he had found himself in, before sighing loudly. "And look where that got me. I'm trapped in my own head, while some alien corpse thingy is doing things to my body." His eyes widened significantly as he covered his mouth shocked. "...too young to lose my… especially like this…" he exclaimed utterly distraught. "That's not how this works…" sweat-drops rolled down the backside of it's furry head at it's stupid little container.

The room began to shake, and Naruto braced himself as debris started to fall from the ceiling. Fleshy appendages began to seep into the room, and spread across the ceiling. Kyubi narrowed it's eyes, and growled before looking down, and locking eyes with Naruto. "I'll give this one to you for free, but don't expect it to happen again. Remember, if you die I'll be free, and after being sealed so long don't think I wont take my revenge on the village that's been imprisoning my all these years." it growled. Naruto for his part managed to avoid looking even slightly afraid under the beings threat to his home, and merely nodded his head evenly, before the Kyubi roared blasting him out of his mind-scape, and back to the waking world. With the child gone Kyubi took in the sight before them. From the darkness it formed, and bubbled, bodies began oozing forth from the rotten mass, charging with all their chaotic might. One scraped by the seal, nearly ripping it all the way off as they rushed forward towards their intended target ready to silence the beast.

A familiar blonde man appeared, and that was what the Kyubi needed. Even as they continued to pour out from the walls they were roasted alive by the roaring flames that continued to roast the bodies of their fallen brethren. The man fading in and out of existence rapidly from place to place each, and every mutant succumbing to his onslaught as he slapped down tag after tag. Teaming up with the very being that made him, and his wife raising their child impossible.

They say being alive is a blessing, and that you should cherish it while it lasts.

But for Naruto existence was pain, and honestly he just wished it would end already. Blood poured from every opening dripping down each, and every tentacle surfacing from the crevices they left in his back as he squirmed, and spasmed in response to their endless digging, as well as the overbearing siphoning of the life forces of his body. An orange bubble slowly spread over him as it corroded the fleshy appendages mounting him to the wall, and ceiling, causing him to be released from the tethers that bound him, and fall to the floor. Ever so slowly the large gaping wounds scouring his body began to heal over, and seal shut like the shutter of a camera lens as flesh, and bone filled in the spaces they once occupied albeit crudely. The room immediately around him began to die away, and decay without the support of his chakra, and mass to nurture their dependent form. Pushing himself up to rest on his knees his eyes were met with the view of a large underground space with light coming from red crystals embedding themselves in the ceiling with their many tendril legs digging deep into the surface of the rock face.

Staggering to his feet he began to panic as he noticed many mutant creatures appearing from the surrounding 'buildings' if you would call them that with their bone-like appearance. They were twisted imitations of the natural forms they seemed to mimicked, garbed in black robes revealing very little of their appearance underneath. What could be seen however assured him they were definitely not human. Three in particular were of note as the robes did little to hide anything.

One towered over all the others near the back of what he assumed was a barn like structure, a Goliath of a man. Huge arms made for crushing stone extending down, and out of the torn robe that hung off it's hulking bulging body in shreds which stood on two similarly sized legs. A 'hulk' of a man. Standing at the front of a small store was a tall lanky fellow wearing a long robe with a pointed abnormally large brimmed hat positioned to hide it's face in the shadow cast by the crystals. It wielded a pitch fork, and a lantern that glowed a bright orange. A small sun gazed beyond it's panned glass. The final was a creature that made the Goliath look tiny, a large wolf with four back legs, and no eye's. In their place was another wide mount with an additional set of pointed teeth designed for ripping people apart. It had no fur which exposed it's infected rotten body, and open rib cage.

Looking around he desperately searched for a way out, a place he could duck into to escape them. There were none. The orange cloak returned, and began to burn his skin away. The burns gave way to wounds which mixed his blood in with the chakra, darkening it. The Kyubi was giving him the chance to escape, and he would take anything at this point. A small purple orb formed on it's own at the end of one of the chakra tails, and fired the orb straight up, burning a hole through the earth, illuminating the sky in a blinding flash of light.

It wouldn't be hard to find him now.

During That time

"That took way longer then I thought it would" he whispered intending to keep quiet. They had reached the bottom of the shaft, and had found themselves in a tunnel. They couldn't see the end of either direction down here, and there was hardly any light excluding from the torch held by the silver haired shinobi.

"Is it too late to change my mind, and head back? This place gives me the creeps." Mizuki said half-serious, taking in the oppressive atmosphere of the tunnel. It didn't feel like they were along down here. It was as if eyes bore into the back of her skull, and roamed the confines of it's interior. Shifting the light around she looked back, and forth to help decide what direction they were gonna head. "Let's head this way…" she said pointing towards the northern facing direction of the tunnel as she noticed something which gave her at least a little hope.

Iruka followed her eyes seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. "Yeah let's go. There has gotta be something there." As they approached the end they realized the light was getting brighter, and that the tunnel began to illuminate orange as the light got hotter. Stopping in their tracks they began to listen. The tunnel rumbled slightly as sweat drenched their skin, and their clothes clung tightly to their forms.

"Umm you hear that right Ruka?" she questioned as she listened to the sound of tapping. Hundreds of taps against the floor, walls, and ceiling followed by in sync rumbling. They didn't have time to ask or answer any questions as a shape rounded the corner as the tunnel was fully illuminated by the anomalous light which reflected from the creatures skin. Hundreds of arms, and legs crawled across every surface as the single amalgamated entity rushed them.

"HOLY SHIT RUN!"Turning on their heels they ran toward the opposite southern tunnel, the one they should have went down in the first place apparently.

They turned a corner with a slide, and began to full sprint through a door to another hallway, before dashing into one of the rooms to their right. The glowing abomination burst through the door, ripping down the wall as it's flesh tore against the splintered metal remains of it's surface. They closed the door behind them. Iruka ripped a scroll from the pocket on his bicep, before channeling chakra into it, and throwing it at the door as they hid behind a wall. The beast ripped through the door before the scroll released a flash, and deafened the creature. It recoiled at the assault to it's senses, staggering as it tried to reorient itself. Mizuki, taking advantage of the opening left by Iruka, threw an explosive kunai at the giant mutant, setting it on fire, and blowing away it's mandibles.

As they prepared more tools the walls themselves closed around the creature absorbing it, and leaving them no way out of the room. The light's that were on went and disappeared, pitching them into utter darkness with only the soft patter of feet against stone audible on the other side of the room to alert them to another presence that had without a shadow of a doubt intentionally made itself known.

It happened quickly, and Mizuki didn't know what to think as something rammed straight through her side, and a giggle erupted from the mouth of her assailant positioned near her right ear. Iruka's scream rang true, muffled as it was by something unseen in the darkness. Blood pooled in her mouth as the position they were in settled itself in her mind. Whatever skewered her had pierced several organs, and she couldn't breath properly as blood clogged her throat.

A spark lit the room for a second, and in that second showed the being that had attacked them. It's red robe parted to reveal glowing eyes, and disgusting infected flesh underneath. It's arm extended, ran straight through her, and Iruka bound in it's other arm seemingly unharmed, but unconscious.

"…Iruka.?… blegh…" blood spew from her mouth as her awareness began to fade.

Another interruption evaded the darkness as the ground shook, and their vision was replaced with a blinding white light that obliterated everything in front of them. It stayed that way for about half a minute before fading away letting the moonlight illuminate the hole left in it's wake. "That was rather… unexpected." The thing behind her spoke as she heard something drop behind her. "We suppose we should finish up here. The two of you interrupted a ritual rather important, and it seems your distraction has cost usour opportunity." Turning around, she saw Iruka on the floor having been abandoned there. The thing ripped it's arm out from her side, before rearing back to finish the job.

The strike never came.

Mizuki, having closed their eyes, opened their eyes to look back at the being who held her in it's grasp. It's arm was poised to annihilate her yet it did not move, it's horrid disfigured face that was once hidden behind the cloak looked down at her like she wasn't even worth it's time, but that is all it did. It did not move, nor flinch when she regained her composure, and pried herself from it's arm to escape.

A burning feeling had been burning on her breast. The contract she had signed for the power to enact her vengeance upon the world. Black markings crawled outward, tattooing her in symbols of hate as they overwhelmed the body they marred, ripping it apart, and birthing from it a new one.

Time had not stopped. The mark merely increased her reactions, and toned her perception. Black stripes formed as fur covered her body. The tiger-like mutant aimed for the cloaked figures throat as her perception returned to normal.

"DIE fugly!" roared the tiger furry.

What could only be called a 'Bone-tentacle' slapped the claw away. "Good effort I suppose…" The creature didn't seem very impressed.

"Not good enough." It reared the tentacle back to skewer the both of them.

'Shit! What should I do?' She jumped back, and scooped Iruka up in her much larger arms, jumping out of the way just in time as the tendril pierced the metal surface where they had once been.

Looking back at the hole she got an idea. 'I could try fighting it, but that risks Iruka. My best bet is to escape. Good thing I have this transformation, I wouldn't have had the energy otherwise.'

Reaching back she grabbed a small device hanging off her ruined belt, before tossing it at the creatures feet and running. The flash-bang went off, and she began climbing to the surface up the wall as an angry shout rang out down below..

Running.

He was running as fast as his little legs would let him, taking wild glances behind himself whenever he could. The only one following him now was the dog thing which was probably the worst of the bunch. It had kept up with him the entire time. Apparently whatever these things were were not prepared for someone that could move as fast as him. It's doubled up set of jaws snapped shut meters behind him eliciting a panicked whimper from the boy's lips. The animal had nearly gotten him a couple times, but he always managed to narrowly avoid it. It felt like he was getting played with.

The blast had thrown large pieces of earth across the horizon, blanketing the landscape in monuments of creation, and had made evading detection a lot easier with the increase in obstacles for the giant dog to move around, but you couldn't get past the nose of a rapid hunting dog. Was it even a dog at this point? Who cares. Run. He needed a way to distract the dog long enough to escape, but what could he do? 'hmmm Oh yeah that's right, this is gonna be awesome' Remembering his reading from earlier he brought up his fingers into a cross formation, and performed one of the jutsu he learned. "You can't follow all of us pooch!" A hundred identical copies of himself flooded the area with smoke as they all turned, and made a funny face at the dog. "Catch us if you can!" they shouted variably, and scattered across the forest in different directions making the dog stop, and seemingly think about which way to go. 'How the hell did I make so many?!'

It sniffed the ground trying to figure out it's target, and began heading west at an increased pace, skin moving aside to allow the sprouting of spider like bone legs to provide improved movement alone the battered terrain as the lifted it's body over the tops of trees. Nothing was gonna stop it from completing it's objective. 'Home…' it thought as it scurried atop trees knowing exactly where it's new home was heading.

The scroll strapped to his back weighed him down heavily, but he did what he could to try, and keep moving. "Dammit!" he uttered a curse as he nearly tripped up on some roots that had been unearthed by the falling rocks from earlier. Hopefully the clones would keep it busy so he could stop, and rest for a bit, he had little energy and if it wanted it could probably take him. He recoiled, pulling a hand up to the back of his neck as an intense pain flared from the spot he held.

He could feel something moving just underneath the skin. "Oh damn." he softly gasped as he snarled at the parasite. "There is no running from me. We are now one." A familiar yet different voice spoke in his head. "Now then… why don't you make this easy for yourself, and just come to me." Thoughts forced themselves into his head as a location was dictated wordlessly to his subconsciousness, attempting to force his will. The vision of a snow covered village overrun with the fleshy stuff from earlier entered his mind. "Meet me here. You know how to get there as we've privileged you with the knowledge to do so, andwill chase you no longer, we will let you come to us. We know you will, you don't really have a choice." He had a strong unnatural desire to agree with whatever it was, and somewhere inside him he felt like it was right for some reason. Light laughter rang in his head not one, but hundreds of different tones in symphony. He could make out a faint redness spreading across his arms, veins bulged slightly, and cysts started to form before his arms simply reverted to normal. "We will give you one year. YOU. COME TO US… You need answers anyway, don't you?" The threat was clear, It had control of his body, but that leaves the question of why it would even give him a choice when it clearly could do what it wanted. Of course he had questions, what was happening to his body was floating to the forefront of his mind.

When he was captured by the robed figure he had been invaded, and torn apart. In that cave he looked down at his hands, and he could see the difference already. The veins were darker, and his skin a shade redder then normal. Whatever it had done had left an unholy effect ringing across his entire being. Who even knows what it was, or what it was doing down there, or even how long it had been down there. He thought about what the figure did to him, and what it was asking, and suddenly he didn't care about those small things anymore. All he wanted was to be a ninja, and prove himself to everyone. No… that was a lie, that wasn't what he wanted. He wanted much more then that.

The dog merely watched him from atop a nearby treetop as he ran. There was no longer any need to follow. Time to gather the others. The creator had put everything in motion.

The memories he had just been forced to watch replayed in his head. Everything that had been going on was unreal. "Naruto my son… this is a lot worse then I thought it would be." Minato whispered to himself as he sat down on a fallen piece of ceiling. "The stupid brat's gonna get us killed at this rate." Kyubi growled disapprovingly. "That blood miteinfected him. Not entirely, but it is still there, and I can't get rid of it. It's too far ingrained in his being at this point" The mass had fused with the wall, a large door made of bone, and dried leather protruded from it. "Anything it does could cause Naruto to undergo drastic changes…" Minato thought long, and hard on the implications of this new development. "He could even become like those creatures he ran into earlier." he said clearly upset at the thought. "If it does anything no… WHEN it does something even if I can't stop it, I'm sure there's some way I can change what it does for a better outcome.." It thought aloud unsure if it could actually do anything. Minato overhearing what it said smiled slightly, before chuckling. "What are you laughing about ningen?" The fox said looking down at the human in warning.

"It's kinda funny. I expected you to be a lot grumpier then you are, but you seem to be willing to help my son. Hmmm I wonder why that is." His grin widened when the fox began to back out of what it was saying. "No one cares about you stinky humans, your all disgusting. Besides, I'm only helping him because it's safer for me in here, and if I want to stay here he needs to be alive OBVIOUSLY." It replied hastily creating more holes in it's stories. "Eh, is that right? I though you were trying to escape earlier? What happened with that?" He was gonna milk this for all it was worth. "You ask too many questions for a worthless ningen. Stop wasting my time." He wasn't taking the dead Hokage's shit.

There was a pause of silence as they thought on it all. Minato stretched his arms behind his head, before sighing. "Whelp let's look on the bright side." he said resolved. "What bright side stupid, your sons being controller by a flesh monster, and may or may not get executed for stealing a scroll when he wakes up." The Kyubi couldn't understand at all where Minato was coming from with this. It was literally one of the weirdest worst nights they had had, and all the risks kept piling on. "I doubt it attacked Naruto to harm him in anyway. It seemed to want something from him if you recall? If anything that monster might even become a benefit." he spoke seriously. If it had wanted to kill him it could of done so many times, Kyubi be damned. "It kept talking about a nest…" it trailed off as it pieced what information it could together.

Flashes of the creatures that were down in that hole in the earth appeared before the foxes eyes, and it was at that time it remembered. "Naruto was connected to the place. The entire complex was linked to him, and his essence was spread throughout the complex. Even if they aren't entirely, they areall at least partially connected to him." Kyubi stared down at the mortal as Minato pondered on what that could mean.

Biting his thumb in frustration he posed an idea "They weren't hit by that blast of yours, it's doubtful they were destroyed, and are probably still on the loose. Would their connection lead them back to Naruto? Even if they would be risking a lot tonight by showing themselves they could show up at any other time, and that could be a problem for my son. What are we gonna do?"

"There's nothing we CAN do for now… but we can prepare… just in case."

While the fox wished for nothing more then to ensure it's hosts survival at the moment, there was little that could be done. Sometimes you have to wait things out, and see where they go before making decisions.

For now they would wait.

"Hurry! Bring him this way!" The head nurse ordered as nurses pushed the gurney through the halls briskly towards the emergency room. So much had happened in the last five hours, and they were beginning to run out of room.

Patients lay on hastily fashioned 'beds' that line the hallway walls. Many were showing signs of an unknown infection that they had never dealt with before. Others were hauled from the remains of a few residential buildings that had been crushed by the will of god, and had somehow survived, well at least some of them did. The morgue was more than full at this point.

"This room here! Gretta, your on surgery! Alice, Hans assist her." A large dark skinned woman, 'Gretta' presumably began cleaning her tools, as she ordered Alice to gather towels, and gauze. She gazed down at the injured academy teacher sighing as she readied herself for his surgery.

Back in the hallway another stretcher was being transported with Mizuki riding on it. Having gained consciousness, she began to realize where she was. They had made it to the clearing above, and ANBU had closed in just as she had lost consciousness. He body had returned to normal.

The nurse looked down realizing she was awake, and began worriedly asking her questions.

'Fuck.' She blacked out again, and her eyes rolled into the back of her head freaking the nurse out.

Elsewhere

Hiruzen played with the fabric of his sleeve. The gentle fabric of his Hokage cloak provided a comfort that allowed him to escape the situation in front of him, he stopped. A Hokage must not distract themselves from the troubles of their village, their people. Especially not the troubles of children, and if history had told him anything, definitely not the troubles of your Jinchūriki.

The boy had made it to the gates before he collapsed. The gate guards frantically reached him before picking him up, and carrying him towards the direction of the hospital. The wounds that had been inflicted upon him had healed fully, yet the boy had not reached the point of awakening. All of the chakra in his system was spent, and it was a surprise that he made it as far as he did. By all rights he should of been dead.

Looking at the boy in such a pathetic state was rather demoralizing, but at least he was alive. At the end of his bed lay the scroll of seals he had made away with in a rather underhanded way. 'I'll have to ask him why he took it. I doubt the boy would have taken it for any malicious purposes, and even if he did… someone would have had to tell him about it to begin with. While Naruto is definitely on the brighter side, it's that trustful nature of his that no doubt lead us to this situation.'

Picking up the scroll, he was rewarded with perhaps a hint of who could of attempted to trick the young boy. 'Hmm.' His eyes narrowed at the feathered chain that hung out from between the folds.

'I guess I have an instructor in need of a lesson.'

Thank you for reading 3

Author's Note's

Alright, first things first. The previous chapter's have been modified, so if you've already read them there have been additions which you can read now, but only if you wish.

-Secondly I plan for this type of section to be used as a means for me to communicate with all of you.

Hey, how's everyone doing?

I've received a number of questions from various people, and as some didn't leave reviews under an account, I'll additionally be answering questions for them. In fact I'll be responding to everyone this way.

The first thing I want to clear up is that there are AU pieces throughout the story. Gender changes, age changes, entirely new places/destinations, and redesigns of the villages, character dynamics, character mechanics, and character relationships so keep that in mind as you read along. Nothing is done without purpose, and I hope to make that purpose very transparent. I won't answer why the changes exist as of yet as that would ruin the surprise, and no one likes spoilers(transparency he says…).

As for the different creatures that are showing up in the story, they are definitely not 'natural' for the AU world I've devised. Some will be SCP's, some will be instances of other SCP's and some won't be, they'll simply be monsters of my own or others creation. Keep in mind that I plan to insert unnumbered custom SCP's into the story. These will as well be named, and pointed out as they are introduced. I plan on making a sort of guide for all the different characters, and creatures, whether they are mine or not so that they are easier to identify. Not everyone has read every article, but don't worry all SCP's will eventually be named in the story, and that includes those that you shouldn't name(Wink).

Also I'm unsure how to go about the SCP numbering for custom entities. I don't want to encroach on the current system, and would like it to be separate as they are not real SCP's. I'm thinking about something like [SCP N-XXXX] with the 'N' representing the Narutoverse and the X's representing numbers. I'm also unsure of how to identify anomalies created by anomalies within anomalies. I've seen -1 or -a added to the end to represent instances, but nothing beyond that. I also couldn't really find guidelines for it either. If you know something I don't feel free to message me or leave an answer in the review section. I'll be prodding the official website anyway. For anonymity do a guest review.

As for the various organizations of the SCP universe, whether they be the Foundation themselves, the GOC, Serpents Hand, The Fifth Church, Anderson Robotics, MC&D, or even the Church of the Broken God, you'll have to wait, and see. Their inclusion is indeed planned, but it might not be in the way you are imagining.

In other news, please point out as many problems as you can find in my writing. I am looking to improve, and as I am now, I need people to shit on my writing. Don't be afraid to message me. I'm willing to listen to anyone's criticism even if it is unjustified, or you feel as though it's silly. Even the small things count as useful. Thank you ahead of time btw.

Since I only have a general outline for the story as well as specified guidelines set for the progression of my involved characters, If you have recommendations I would be glad to listen, PM me or email as either are fine.

Sorry for wasting your time with this, but I felt it was needed. Thank you, and and have a wonderful day!
