AN: I know, I know. I had said that this story was already finished. However, I realized that adding one last chapter couldn't hurt. If anything, it might help the story! Besides, there have been a lot of people who have said this story ended too abruptly. So, my friends, this is for you :)
Chapter 17 What We Learned Today
Lemmy, Roy, and Wendy walked through the hallway toward the throne room. Despite the fact that there were no windows, the light coming from the braziers on the walls managed to brighten up the surroundings. This was good, as not only did it help the Koopalings see the way, but it also strengthened their moods.
The week was officially up. All three of the Koopalings were ecstatic about this, and it clearly showed through the conversation that they were having.
"I don't know about you guys," said Roy, "but as soon as we talk to Bowser, I'm gonna go play video games with Larry."
Lemmy giggled. "I'm going to go practice tricks on my circus ball!" Lemmy's face fell. "Or at least, I would if it wasn't broken again."
Wendy snickered. "Man, Lemmy. That thing has gone through a bigger beating than a professional wrestler."
Lemmy laughed. "Yeah, that is true!" He looked at Wendy with sparkling eyes. "What are you gonna do, Wendy?"
"Oh, I don't know," Wendy said with a shrug. "Probably just relax and unwind."
Roy nodded. "That sounds like a good plan."
Finally, the three Koopalings got to the door. Lemmy was noticeably bouncing up and down as he waited for it to open, while Roy and Wendy were just grinning. When the door granted them access to Bowser's throne room, they all stepped forward with a sense of eagerness.
Bowser smiled at each of them once they were in front of the throne. "Well, it looks like my little teachers are no longer teachers!"
Roy and Wendy nodded while Lemmy bounced up and down like a rubber ball. Bowser got up from the throne and stood before them.
"So," he said. "What did you guys learn?"
"Ooh ooh ooh!" Lemmy said as he waved his hand around in the air. Bowser pointed toward him, causing the littlest Koopaling to start bouncing with an even greater intensity. "I learned that Biology is one of the coolest subjects ever! I want to study more of it when I get the chance!"
Bowser nodded. "That's really something, Lems."
Lemmy giggled. "It is! It really is! Did you know that animal cells have these organelles called ribosomes, which are responsible for making messenger RNA?"
Bowser chuckled. "That's cool! Sounds like you had an eventful week, Lemmy!"
Lemmy giggled. Bowser turned toward Roy.
"Well, Roy, what did you learn?"
Roy stood up, smiled, and puffed out his chest. "I learned that, sometimes, it's okay to ask for help."
Bowser beamed. "That's great! You know, one part of being responsible and accepting responsibility is asking for help when you need it the most. That is a very mature thing to realize!"
Roy looked shocked. "You think I'm mature?" Before Bowser could answer, he laughed. "Man! I'm mature." He turned to Wendy with a smug look. "You know, I never would have imagined that maturity felt so good."
Bowser shook his head and rolled his eyes. He turned toward Wendy. "Okay, Pumpkin, what did you learn?"
Wendy turned a deep crimson when she heard Bowser call her Pumpkin. She took a step forward, an adorable smile dominating her lips.
"I learned that, sometimes, the things that you were the most scared of doing aren't that scary once you face them head on." Her smile grew bigger. "For example, I was absolutely terrified at teaching little kids. However, when I actually interacted with one, I realized that they aren't little gremlins like I believed."
Lemmy and Bowser giggled.
"Yes, little kids are quite interesting, aren't they?" Bowser asked. He set himself down on the throne in a relaxed sort of way. "Well, it looks like these punishments have all served you well! So, not only are you exempted from teaching any longer, but now, you can also go relax."
The boys grinned.
"Thanks, Bowser!" said Lemmy.
"Yes, thanks," said Roy.
With that, Roy and Lemmy started to make their way out of the throne room. Wendy was about to follow them, but she heard Bowser clear his throat before she could.
"Wendy," he said. "Come here."
Wendy turned toward Bowser with a look of fright. "Am I in trouble?"
"No, not at all. I just want to talk to you."
Wendy nodded hesitantly and made her way over to the throne. As she stood in front of Bowser, he smiled at her.
"You know, you were outright terrified when I said you would get a punishment."
Wendy chuckled nervously. "Yeah." She scratched the back of her head. "I was just so...I guess I didn't want to think about the fact that I had upset you. I mean, you're essentially my dad. I don't want you to be upset with me."
Bowser laughed. "That's understandable. And don't worry about a thing, Wendy. Even when I am upset with you, I still love you. You will always be Daddy's Little Girl."
Wendy blinked before smiling. "Daddy's Little Girl," she muttered.
"Yep," said Bowser. "Now, why don't you go relax? You've had a tough week."
Wendy nodded. "Right. Thanks, Bowser."
"Anytime, sweetie."
AN: Well, there you have it; the actual ending! Thank you all for tuning in! Stay safe and stay awesome! :)
