The story bellow, the red not much to say, just that takes place after the events of 3x07 - Blood and Circuses.
Other than that, as I like to write a good AU, in this story Julia and William are already married.
Ruth Green, thanks for the help. And in my defense, I'm writing this on my phone..
THE NIGHTMARE.
Despite of the cloudy day, Julia and William decided to take a walk around the park, to exercise and vent out after a stressed week of solving cases. Despite of the nice walk, both William and Julia, couldn't help but notice the oddness of the day as they passed by a mamboed circus on their way.
''How curious is that?'' Julia laughed upon seeing the Inspector, talking in signs with a monkey dressing in a tutu.
''Isn't that George and Henry?'' William frowned upon seeing the two constables dancing with another pair of girls, the four of them, wearing the same single suit.
''Sir! Sir! Look!'' George exclaimed pointing to the sky, where the victim they found devoured by a tiger a few days ago, used the electrical wiring as a tightrope. And not far away from there, The Sword Queen, her killer, throw knives at Terrence Mayers.
"How fascinating! William, I believe we are at the circus!" Julia exclaimed nudging at her husband's arm.
"Yes, I believe we are," the detective agreed. "I think it's the first time ever I have been on a circus. "
"Well, so let's enjoy." his wife replied kissing his cheek.
"Yes, let's enjoy." He nodded when suddenly, a loud thunder was heard and many people turn toward the sound.
"You are the next!" Count Leonine pointed to the detective with a devilish smile.
"What's that?" someone asked pointing toward the sound.
Not far away from where they were, appeared a giant tiger, bigger than a normal tiger, with glowing eyes, growling toward the people.
"My God William!" Julia yelled in terror.
Around them, people start to scream and run away as the giant tiger attack them.
"Julia, stay behind me!" William snapped.
"William what are you doing?!" she scream but the man didn't seemed to listen.
Instead, he ran toward the animal trying to protect his wife and those around them.
"William!" Julia yelled desperate.
"AAARGHH!!" the detective screamed at the top of his lungs when the tiger jump on top of him, tearing him apart.
Instead of help, people around them start to laugh and point at the scene as if the tiger eating the detective alive was a great spectacle.
"NO, WILLIAM, NO! NO… PLEASE, HELP!"
"WILLIAM!" the detective woke up suddenly by someone yelling his name. Startled, he turn to his wife's side and saw her whimpering and trashing, while calling for him.
Immediately then, he turn on the lights and start shaking her gently and kissing her forehead.
"Julia, wake up love, you're having a nightmare, Julia…" he called her.
"William…" she cried again, before woking up with a start and start crying again, upon seeing the face of her very much alive husband. "William… you're alive…" she hug him tight.
"I am… you were having a nightmare darling, want to tell me what happened?" he asked and sitting on the bed, she sniffed and start telling him.
"We were walking around the park and it turned into a circus…"
"Oh, I see…"
"And then… that tiger appeared …" Julia start to sob. "And it ripped you apart William…" she sobbed.
"Its alright, it's alright my love, I'm here, I'm alive… shh, calm down." He rocked her back and forth gently, hoping she got better.
It took Julia almost an hour to calm down and they lie back down in each other arms, when she broke the silence, still hugging him, her voice muffled in his chest.
"William, please, promise you will never leave me, promise you will be careful at your work." She cried and he smiled.
"I promise… and you promise me the same thing, as a fortune teller told me you will leave me."
"Well, I will prove you, she's wrong. I love you my dearest one and I will never going to leave you."
"I love you too." William said as they fall back to sleep and be rested to go to work together the next day.
