Heyo guys! So just to clarify real quick, before I forget. I'm not exactly going by the ages set in the anime/manga. The original age gap between Sota and Kagome is about six/seven years, I'm narrowing it down to four. Leaving her just a year before the third years. But overall Kagome lowkey takes a backseat for the most part? But still gets dragged in, because ya know, it's ouran.
As for the mysterious donor ヽ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)ノ you'll find out eventually...
The boy guiding her was quiet and tall.
He seemed about her age, if not a year or two younger, obviously.
She would say they talked as he guided her, but it was more of her talking as he hummed and nodded to a few of her questions.
Kagome wasn't completely unaware of the burning gazes on her and her companion but made a point not to acknowledge it. A small part in the back of her mind thought that, maybe she should have just let her mother dress her up a tad more than the casual outfit she ended up choosing for herself.
Either way, her gentle giant of a guide was able to get her to her destination quickly, and for that, she was eternally grateful. She would have spent who knows how long still lost and wandering.
He took a step back, as she peeked her head in, curiously he didn't leave right away.
"Ano.."
What few students were still milling about in the classroom all paused to look at her, and Kagome fought the urge to eep, she would not be intimidated by a bunch of high schoolers!
"Is this Sota Higurashi's classroom?"
A few girls nodded curious and nervous, Kagome looked around not seeing her brother but continued, "Do you know if he'll be back soon?"
The girls shook their head, a braver one saying, "He went to the cafeteria with Fujioka-san.."
Kagome sighed, wanting to slump in defeat but also not wanting to show such a sloppy side of herself to her brother's classmates gave a smile instead.
Bowing she said, "Ah, I see, I'll look for him there. Please take care of my brother."
She closed the door to a few squeals and for a second questioned her sanity before turning to her silent companion once more.
"Eh heh,...ah would you be so kind?"
If he seemed put out upon her request he didn't show it and simply lead the way again once more.
Kagome internally cried her thankfulness as she once more set afoot.

As Sota followed Haruhi to the cafeteria, he eyed her, and she glanced at him before glancing away, shoulders up.
"...So..?"
Haruhi let out a frustrated sigh.
"Stupid rich bastards..."
Sota gave a startled laugh, a carefree light sound. A few girls who had been eyeing the two began swooning in the background, a few squeals as the two commoners made their way past, paying no mind to those around them.
Patting Haruhi on the back, he gave a crooked smile and asked, "What they do this time?"
Haruhi sighed as if the weight of the world were on her shoulders, "Where to start..."
He hummed, listening as they entered the cafeteria, eyes wandering a bit as Haruhi lead the way, explaining her harrowing time the day previous.
Sota hadn't expected that when she appeared before his desk that he'd get an invite to lunch, let alone an offer for part of the meal itself.
"Higurashi-san..?"
"Hm?" Sota hummed lifting his head, "Ah..Fujioka-san.."
Haruhi gave a brief smile, "Good, I'm glad you recognized me..."
Sota furrowed his brows, why wouldn't he recognize her? "Speaking of.." he said in a leading fashion, now raising his brows and gesturing with a nod.
She flushed lightly, "Aha, about that..no, wait, I wanted to ask if you wanted to have lunch together...?"
Sota sat up more, surprised, before becoming flustered himself, rubbing the back of his neck, "Ah, actually Fujioka-san, I forgot my lunch today..."
"That's okay, I don't mind sharing," she said lifting he bento to eye level.
Sota tried refusing the offer, but she gave him a flat look, "You're part of the soccer club, right? Were you planning to just go without food? You'll be dead weight."
Sota gave in quite easily, defeated he said, "You're quite blunt aren't you Fujioka-san... aha.."
"Call me Haruhi"
He grinned...he didn't know if Haruhi was aware how...well brutal her blunt comments could off as, but it was refreshing..
Finding a table the two sat as Haruhi finished her tale while unwrapping the lunch.
Sota ever the optimist tried to cheer her up, "I mean at least your days won't be dull..?"
Haruhi groaned, wanting to thunk her head on the table, Sota, never one to turn down a free meal after clearly being invited even after initial polite refusal, picked at the rice.
"Mhm!"
Haruhi glanced up at him, pouting sullenly, "You say that only because you haven't met Tono-san.."
"Probably" he agreed readily, Haruhi ticked, pinched his cheek, "You cheeky brat!"
Sota whined, "I give! I give!"
"Tch"
Sota now pouting, rubbed his cheek. "What are you? My mother?"
Despite his teasing, and Haruhi's grumbling, she seemed to not to take it to heart, and if he were to personally say so himself, he thought they weren't far off from being good friends already.
The two in their own world, were oblivious to the obvious to anyone else, near hoard of admirers sitting a few tables away.
Snagging some of the egg from the bento available, he continued, "I mean I hear you, but they can't be too awful right? They got you a new uniform and everything. They seem to have good intentions, but with like zero relatability. The guy with the glasses though...I'm just glad I didn't run into him..."
Haruhi apparently given up, only gave him a flat look sullen pout back on her face as she bit into some radish.
Sota reached over and brushed a piece of rice from her cheek, "Buck up, if things get too out of hand, don't hesitate to call me for back up" he said, leaning into his other hand and giving off a charming crooked smile showing off a dimple to the squeals of girls in the background.
Haruhi's cheeks heated ever so slightly as she knocked his hand away,
"I can handle it myself...but thanks.."
"No problem!" He said and with that swiped the last piece of shrimp, the moment shattered as Haruhi hopped up from her seat, trying to reach across the table as she shouted, "You fox!" much to his amusement as he deftly avoided her swift hands aiming for his face.
As the two ignored their surroundings, they weren't privy to a familiar voice commenting on the situation, "Well this is certainly interesting...," for at the same time, another clearer voice shouted, "Sota-kun!"
Sota paused in his actions, snapping his head to the direction of where his name was coming from just in time to shove the rest of the shrimp in his cheek, to Haruhi's dismayed, "Hey!"
He almost spluttered and spit his food right back out, "Nee-chan!?" he choked out, words muffled.
Haruhi confused at what he said, looked up to see who called him so familiarly. And her mouth opened in surprise as a girl who looked no older than them, approached looking a little harried but who's outfit stuck out like a sore thumb, but what was more surprising is that the quiet and "wild type" host followed a few steps behind her.
Who was this again?
As the girl approached the table, Sota hit his chest a few times to clear his airway. "Nee-chan? What are you doing here?"
The girl in question looked close to tears, "Sota-kun" she whined, and wow, up close, Haruhi could see not only the resemblance but, ...while she may have acknowledged on a base level that Sota was...well decent looking, (if not more, which she certainly wasn't going to acknowledge) his sister was nearly out of this world. The two combined, was like looking at models from a magazine...
'Where did that thought come from' Puzzled, Haruhi blamed the strange thought on the fact her time at Ouran was already making her lose it...
"I thought I'd never make it here!"
Sota could've sweatdropped, of course, knowing his sister, she probably got turned around several times, even if she had a map. He eyed the guy a few steps behind her, who made a nod of acknowledgment to him. Sota not quite expecting that, and also dealing with his sister who seemed to have lost it a bit trying to navigate the halls, sort of gave an awkward wave to him.
Kagome now seemingly done, the moment she had seen Sota it had been like an oasis after hallway after long hallway, so it was only fair she took a moment to reacquaint herself with reality...
She raised up the bento along with the basket on her arm. "Mom sent me to bring you lunch! She also uh..made cookies for your team for after practice..."
Looking behind him, a hint of a cheshire grin appeared on her face, "..But I see you've already got it taken care of..."
Sota blushed lightly, sputtering, "Okay! You made your delivery, here, I'll take you back to the entrance," and began to turn his sister right around and ready to push her all the way out the door when a third voice interrupted them, and Sota wondered if he could just die on the spot.
"Nonsense!"
"Oh god," Haruhi muttered, once again the urge to slam her head onto the table increasing as Tamaki approached the siblings with a flourish that had both the Higurashi kids blinking.
While completely befuddled, by the approach of a blond boy who was making way too many dramatic arm movements than what was strictly necessary...took a back seat when to the hairs on the back of his neck standing up in alarm from the heavy gaze from the boy with glasses only a few steps behind him, who he could only infer that together, these guys were Tamaki and Kyoya...
'Oh Boy...'
Sota gave a tight smile, Kagome still squinting at the sparkling male, was easily maneuvered and shuffled out in haste, as Sota called out behind him, "Nope! Sorry! Gotta go, right now, can't stop!"
He sent his prayers of good luck to Haruhi, he horribly misjudged the amount of well,"ness" that the supposed host club gave off.
He also purposefully ignored his sisters inquires to whether or not he knew the sparkling boy who seemed to pull a rose from nowhere. And were girls allowed to wear the male uniform as well? And weren't you awfully close to her before I came? Did I interrupt something?
'Nope, no, no!' His sister was asking entirely too many questions, especially those centered around his newfound friendship with Haruhi.
'Just, NOPE!'

Haruhi, for her part, couldn't blame the guy for running hightail right out of there the moment the host club showed up. She tried her best to clean up the remnants of her meal and sneak away, but the host club's shadow king caught her with a single look, and she did her best to not look as if she were running away, because she totally wasn't trying to run away...
"Fujioka-san...you're on a familiar basis with Higurashi?"
Wary, her brows furrowed, "...Yes..?" she said more question than answer, receiving nothing more than a noncommittal hum.
Any questions she may have had were interrupted by Tamaki now proclaiming his woes of not formally introducing himself to the mademoiselle as the twins easily fell into heckling the self-proclaimed prince.
Haruhi sighed, it was going to be a long day.
Meanwhile, Takashi, sat at a table with Honey, watching his club mates make a ruckus.
Honey gave him a brief sidelong glance, but said nothing continuing to eat his cake...
Things were only about to get more interesting at Ouran...
Kudos to Carolyn12 for nailing it on the head in one go haha,, i was shook when i saw the review. To anyone else, i'm sure you all figured it out the minute i said he was tall and quiet haha. Hopefully you all liked this chapter! And the higurashi siblings are most definitely gonna become the talk of the school haha! And if my jokes were unfunny or fell flat, I'm going to blame it on the fact that it's currently 4am and I should've gone to bed hours ago and not the fact, i'm just not funny haha;;; ah...
