Ruby sighed as she walked the streets of Vale. Seeing Yang off to University was a big thing. She was excited that her sister had gotten into the school of her dreams and it was giving her ideas on what she wanted to do.

The city was nice at least. She leaned her head back as she walked, looking at the dark velvet above her. She sighed softly as she looked around at the surprisingly empty streets. It wasn't a bad thing, she just hadn't expected it with how large the city was.

She looked around, pausing as she realised she was rather lost. She paused turning around to head back the way she'd come, but stopped as she noticed a well lit park.

She hesitated before she shrugged, a quick walk around the park couldn't hurt could it?

She skipped across the road, entering the part and smiling softly as green surrounded her. It wasn't like back home at Patch, but it was nice enough. She'd have to show this place to Yang the following morning.

She walked along the pathways, soon reaching a courtyard. She paused as she seemed to have come up behind a statue of a Faunus woman.

She walked around the bronze statue, from the two triangles on the top of her head to the soft look on her face. It was like she'd been reaching out to someone, one foot forward and a hand outreached, she was slightly bent at the waist and a tail casually slipping around her hips, it almost looked shy. Ruby stared at her wide eyed, she was one of the most beautiful women she had ever seen.

She swallowed around the lump in her throat and looked down to see if there was a dedication. She crouched down to read what the small placard said.

"I stand here, awaiting my love. If you are them, hold my hand."

It was simple, there wasn't even a name to go with the mysterious statue and the placard said nothing more. Ruby looks at the out reaching hand, a small smile curling her lips.

"I'm so bringing Yang here tomorrow." With the declamation she turns and speeds off, heading back to her hotel.

"Rubes. What's so important you dragged me out of bed at…" Yang turned to look at her watch. "Seven twelve in the morning?"

"You'll love it." Ruby smiles widely as she dragged Yang down the narrow (and now packed) side street.

Yang was sleepily wiping her eyes as she was dragged behind Ruby. She grinned as she noticed the park, a green place to study would be great to get a change of scenery, but that didn't explain Ruby's enthusiasm.

She was dragged down a paved path, barely having time to appreciate the flower beds, swooping willows or even the lake that seemed to sit off to one side.

She paused as she noticed Ruby let her go and rush forward to a statue in the middle of the square. Ruby was bouncing up and down on her heels, looking like she was about to burst.

Yang walked over, reaching over to ruffle her hair, much to her little sister's annoyance. Ruby pushed her arm away.

"Look." She pointed at the statue, from this angle Yang could see her clearly and she looked her up and down with an appraising eye.

"Nice find sis." She said approvingly before crouching to read the placard. "No name." She looked back at the outstretched hand.

"Want a photo? That's probably the only pussy you'll get while you're a uni." Ruby grinned mischievously at her sibling and got an outraged squawk, a rare sound from her elder sibling.

"How about I get a photo with you of her?" Yang rebutted and Ruby giggled at her.

"I'll go after you if she doesn't melt in your arms." Ruby teased impishly. Yang scoffed but waited for Ruby to get into position to take a photo.

Yang took a small breath as she looked at the outreached hand. She reached out, taking it in her own and holding the unyielding metal. There was the sound of Ruby's phone taking a photo and Yang turned, getting a thumbs up in response.

"Alright, Rubes, your turn." Yang gently let the hand go. As she passed Ruby she shook her head ruefully. As if the placard could be right.

She turned around, catching Ruby looking intently at the statue, a look of intense concentration on her face. Grinning she quickly snapped a pic.

Ruby turned startled, slightly jumping at the shutter sound. "Come on, Rubes. We'll have to get back to dad soon."

"Right…" Ruby trailed off as she looked back to the statue. Like the night before she had a lump in her throat. She took a breath and grabbed the hand, feeling the cold metal against her warm skin.

There was another shutter sound as Yang got the picture, followed by a startled, "Holy crap!"

Ruby blinked confused before something slumped against her. She squeaked as she thought she'd knocked the statue over but it was too warm and soft to be metal.

She turned and her eyes widened to saucers. The statue was gone, instead there was a head of black hair and two triangle ears flicking in the early morning breeze.

"Whoa." She exhaled the word and the woman looked up. They froze as they stared at each other, stunned silver meeting confused amber.

The moment was broken when Yang grabbed another photo. Ruby turned to look at her sister, who was grinning ear to ear. "Well look at you finding your love."

Ruby pinkened and shook her head, looking away from both of them. She could feel the woman leaning against her. She felt nice.

Ruby shook her head to rid herself of that thought. "Ah…" she tried to speak but her brain was short circuiting as the woman moved. She was holding onto Ruby, her hand on her shoulder as she moved to get a proper look at her face.

Again silver met amber and Ruby felt that all the air in the world had been sucked out, leaving only burnt gold.

"Who…"

The word was a ghost of a whisper, but Ruby felt it. The lump seemed to grow in her throat and her cheeks heated further.

"R-R-Ruby." She managed to squeak out and a small smile curled the woman's lips.

"I'm Blake." Her voice was a little stronger this time and Ruby blinked at her. It fit her, suited her beautifully. As Ruby thought that Blake's eyes fluttered and she collapsed fully against Ruby. She caught her, but looked about to go down with her.

"Right, we're getting you two back to the hotel." Yang says, shaking her head in disbelief. She gently took a hold of Blake, Ruby helping to get the cat Faunus settled on Yang's back.

"Hey Ruby…?"

Ruby looked to her sibling as they walked out of the park.

"Is she really… you know, your love?"

"It…" she pauses a moment and looks at Blake's limp form. "It certainly feels like it." She reached out with a smile, taking a limp hand in her own.

Yang nodded slightly, thankful the street was now less packed but they were getting weird looks. "Good… good."

I may add more to this later, but at this stage it's just going to be a Ladybug oneshot. I might make a Freezerburn one later but it's doubtful.
