I'm glad my last update was well received ;w;/

While I do feel I've got a vague outline for this story in my head, I also feel i'm just making it up as i go sfjvdfvdf, the story itself deciding that, yes this is the direction we're gonna go and i'm just like, okay. Also when I first started this fic, i began rereading ouran, but then stopped, now i'm rereading again for a third time because i don't wanna get the hosts charas wrong;; just aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

But that's neither here nor there, with your reviews I did my best to try and put out the next update as soon as i could, its a little short and i'm sorry;; Next one might take a little longer to get it at a length i'm happy with, but for now! Hope you enjoy! And please review!

While normally seeing his sister was nice and all, dealing with the ribbing he received the entire way back to the entrance of the school? Not so much. Still, he attempted to handle her teasing as best he could, even if his best was ignoring the burning in his cheeks and deflecting every question passed his way.

Not to mention, cookies? Really mom? What was he five? Not to say that rich or not, his teammates would turn down free food. In fact, he was certain that more than just happy, they'd be amazed by the novelty of homemade cookies (or at least the commoner's version filled with 10x the sugar and 10x more delicious in his opinion), and the thought alone made him want to sweatdrop.

A big sigh escaped him, a huge relief filling him as he sagged in his seat, finally making it back in before the bell rang. However, his relief was cut short as he was suddenly bombarded by his classmates; who for the most part aside from the curious glance every now and then, had kept their distance.

"Ne, ne, Higurashi-san! Was that your sister? You two look so much alike!"

"Yeah, yeah! She even greeted us so formally, she was so cute! We saw you two in the cafeteria but you ran off in a hurry, what school does your sister go to?"

"She looked so small and dainty! You're so lucky to have such a cool sister!"

"How old is your sister? Do you guys live close by for her to drop by like that?

Sota's eyebrow twitched and his head was swirling...this was...too much..

He barely caught onto their words, but cool? Dainty? Were they seriously talking about Kagome?

The same Kagome who would pout and get angry if you so much as mentioned her short stature? The Kagome who woke up early just to fall asleep in the most inane places around the house? Who ate hazelnut spread out of the jar with a spoon? The one who he watched first hand bring a man to his knees while also being the type to mercilessly tease him the minute he even mentioned someone he liked, that Kagome?

Sota felt himself sighing, he was sighing a lot recently, or was it just today of all days?

Of course, they wouldn't know the real side of his sister. While charming and beautiful; she could bring trouble in as far as he could throw her. And as much of an annoyance in a way that only older siblings could be, especially when they have dirt on you, having raised you alongside the adults of the household...

From both the standpoint of, as her brother, but also from the standpoint of having known she was the type who could and would occasionally watch horror movies without even blinking, while tearing it apart, (though the reasoning's behind such cavalier reactions was a touch more real and depressing than surface-level consideration would allow...) it was easy to see that those who did not know her; could easily mistake her as...'dainty'.

However again, for Sota, even trying to associate the word dainty and cute with his sister was mind-boggling.

He opened his mouth a few times before closing it, words failing him.

His classmates took his silence only to then push out another slew of questions that led him further down the rabbit hole of insanity of his day, the week was barely out, as they moved from questions about his sister, to those pertaining to Haruhi and what he was doing with the elusive "natural" host, he just couldn't catch a break, could he?

Sota was saved from even having to venture out a composed response when twin arms snaked around his shoulders.

'Great...just great' he thought..

"Have we been replaced dear Karou?"

"It sure seems like it sweet Hikaru"

Girls began to squeal and Sota fought the urge to flinch at the decibel so close to his ears.

While never having exactly met the infamous twins, personally. It was hard to ignore them when he shared the same class with them, not to mention Haruhi had been rather descriptive in ascribing all the members of the club.

The class president cut in circumventing the situation before it lead to utter chaos and loss of control; to the booing of the twins and the benefit of Sota as class was brought back to some semblance of order. He briefly caught Haruhi's eye as she made her way into the classroom, squeezing in through the doorway looking a little harried. Sota put his hands together in a sorry gesture and had to fight not to laugh out loud as she gave a thumbs down gesture in return.

It was going to be a long day...

Leaving his classroom had been a moment of fast action. While his classmates were busy surrounding Haruhi and the twins, he was able to leave before anyone could comment and hurried down to the field.

He hated leaving Haruhi to the wolves as they would say, but he was sure he'd make it up to her later. In the meantime, he still had several hours left of run-through's and he focused his attention to such, however...

Practice was different...

While the day before had been simple drills, today, for whatever reason the bleachers seemed to be full of people. Sota would have considered this more of an oddity if he had not had the day he was already having, and had not already thrown any and all expectations out the window.

So despite what would be his normally critical thinking, he had asked a teammate if it was usually like this for practice, thinking maybe the practice before was just a fluke.

His teammate, their goalie, gave him a funny look; as he seemed to struggle with a response before a pinched look settled across his face and in a halting response replied,

"...No..not usually..."

And with that, he tried to tune out the cheers as they got into practice.

It was a nice day out, despite the averagely warm weather; between the heat of the sun and the afternoon intensity of practice, Sota began working up a sweat.

Out of habit, lids half-lidded, he lifted his shirt to wipe his brow, only to hear, was that screaming?

Confused beyond belief, he looked over his teammates who, half of which seemed to be resigned while one or two looked amused. Certainly, there was nothing about to cause such a fuss right?

Feeling slightly self-conscious, but not entirely certain that it was him doing something to cause the ruckus, he went through the rest of practice, keeping mind not to draw unnecessary attention, as if that were to work through simply refraining from the habit he developed in his early years.

This would be fine, right?

In the corner of the stands, unobserved, a boy wearing glasses murmured to himself, "Interesting" and snapped a notebook closed...

Sota sneezed, shaking his head, was the pollen getting to him?...

The pathway back off the field was right near the bleachers, and Sota was more than ready to head home so he found himself greatly surprised when a female voice called out, "Higurashi-san!"

Looking about, it was a girl he was sure, wasn't in one of his classes offering out a towel to him. Befuddled by the situation, he paused squinting lightly, the girl only seemed to flush more. Internally he shrugged, and reached over the barrier to grab it, with a smile and a "Thank you"

Wrapping it around his neck, he lightly dabbed his face, looking back up at the girl who seemed to now have a dazed look, "Will you be wanting this back?"

She seemed to sputter, as Sota wondered if he made a social faux pas. A secondhand thought entered his mind, as he was surprised and enjoyed the softness and quality of the fabric from the towel.

"N-no! No! Keep it! Please!"

He raised an eyebrow but gave a crooked smile anyway, the hint of a dimple showing again, "Thanks,"

If possible the girl turned redder, but Sota paid no notice as he headed back.

There were a few more squeals, but Sota was beginning to think that this was something typical of Ouran and not out of anything he had done specifically. One of the guys, Daisuke, he thinks it was, slung a friendly arm around his shoulders as he was put away and stuffed his gear in his locker, "Higurashi, my man, you gotta teach me how you do it"

Sota snorted, playfully shoving him off as Daisuke made woes and complaints about his lack of love life.

He ignored him as he got the rest of his stuff ready for the trip back home.

Zipping his bag closed adding "I have no idea what you're talking about. But good luck my dude.", patting the pouting teammate on the head as he finally headed out, "See ya"

Similar shouts responded as he exited.

Now all he needed was a nice ice bath and to possibly avoid any badgering his sister and mother could possibly tag team him with...

i debated/planned briefly on adding that sota was gonna assume her silence was a yes and have him ask her name/class to wash and return it, but,,,i'd have to make up a name, and the scene where he returns it so i can write the girl flustered and thought;;; that's too much work lmao ah,,so i thought the more straightforward method works best,

Thanks for reading y'all! And please review!
