Kekkonshiki
Simple, pleasing to the eye, elegant, beautiful, and so very memorable to all who witnessed the hanging decorations and lights over the white tiled dance floor. They completed each other quite nicely, the two going hand in hand when describing the scene, the moment that played out right at this very time in the stillness and quiet of the night, as if the world had became almost stagnant for everyone in attendance, to let them escape from reality for just a little while to enter a dreamlike atmosphere that pack enough euphoria to make one forget about the troubles they endure, or the hardships they suffer, pleasantries bathed in the luminescent orbs above stringed from wire to wire, and the pale moonlight having made its entrance.
A reminder of how long the day has been, and yet how short it actually was, nevertheless it would be one that everyone wouldn't forget for a very long time, especially when referring to the two currently swaying their forms in the middle of the floor, intertwined in each other's embrace, loose yet tight as they naturally gave into their calm and jovial contentment, aging the moment like a fine wine by taking slowly, although it certainly helped that they had extinguished most of their energy in prior dances and festivities.
They were young, they could handle it, energy well spent if you had asked them right now, not like they could hear you though. Not because of the music, not because they'd ignore or dismiss you, but because they were too focused on the other.
Beginning to whisper amongst themselves.
"I never would've pegged you to be good at dancing," Kyoka opened her eyes after who knows how long, raising her once nuzzled face from his shoulder.
"Why would you say that," Izuku asked, his own gaze reappearing as his eye lids slowly rose.
"Mostly because of how shy you were."
"Still am, f-for the most part."
"Could've fooled me with that stunt you pulled earlier."
"Well dancing took practice, THAT was more of a spur of the moment thing."
"Who practiced dancing with you?"
"L-long story, you probably don't wanna hear it."
"Oh I wanna hear it."
"Because you want to know how much effort I went into for you, or because you don't want to let me live it down?"
"Little column A little column B."
"This revenge for swinging you around and kissing you at the altar?"
"Maaaaaaaaaybe, but I didnt mind that though," she winked at him.
"Then I'll just tell you later."
"Awwww come on."
"No."
"Pwetty pweaseeeeee Izuku."
"You know that only works with Eri."
"Please," Kyoka's soft eyes gazed into his own, droplets of the lights above reflected and combined with the purple iris', as her lower lips stuck out for the innocent act.
"….*sigh*….I practiced with Endeavor."
"Ex-…excuse me?"
"I practiced with Endeavor."
"You're kidding."
"I'm not."
"Lies."
"The truth."
"Honestly?"
"Y-yep."
"Oh my god…"
"Uh huh."
"Tell. Me. Everything."
"Promise not to tell him?"
"Well you want a proper burial and not cremation so I'll be nice."
"Hehehe…that's really funny sweetie."
"Isn't it," she pecked him on the lips, calming his unnerved mind plagued with images of the flame hero turning him into a deep fried broccoli boy, "Now spill."
"Well, I was really nervous about actually dancing with you since I had never really done anything like it before, and you know my history with lacking basic human communication skills."
"That just raises further questions as to how you got him to teach you."
"I'm getting to that."
"Sorry, go on."
"And since I knew you wanted to dance, and since I really didn't know how to, I did my best to try and find whoever I could to teach me."
"How many people did you ask?"
"About four."
"Those being?"
"All Might."
"Of course."
"But he didn't really have any good pointers, more or less just recommended me to other people."
"He certainly looks like he knew more than he let on with how well he's dancing with your mom right now."
"She's probably leading him more than the other way around."
"I can see that," Kyoka stifled her laughter, the couple being within earshot of the two, "So whose the other three?"
"I tried Togata, but he was busy with a raid operation out of town, after that I went to Mina who could only teach me break dancing moves. I wanted to ask Yaoyorozu but I back out since I didn't want you to find out just yet."
"She was busy helping me pick out a dress anyway, plus you may not want to poke that bear, she'd teach you EVERYTHING."
"That's better than awkwardly swerving you around until you got dizzy or tripping over and busting my arm."
"So business as usual?"
"Hey!"
"It's a joke Mr. Two Left Feet, go ahead and finish the story."
"Okay okay, so I was getting desperate and was about to call Aoyama when Endeavor overheard me muttering about it. Next thing I know, I'm getting dragged into his office to quote: 'Not look like a fool on the most important day of my life!"
"Your impression is getting better."
"At least you think so," Izuku mumbled, feeling his instructor's burning stare from the table closets to them.
"So, Endeavor taught you some moves eh?"
"Mhm hm."
"And you were okay with that?"
"Well…it was all for you, so it was worth a shot."
"Guess I can't say you've never done anything for me," Jiro whispered before resting her forehead against his chest.
"Noooo you can't."
"Burn scars flaring up?"
"That and uh, some muscles I pulled during lessons."
"Get those during while learning tango?"
"Mombo, but close."
"Heh fair enough, thanks for that mental image by the way."
"Glad I could make you laugh at least."
"Oh for days to come babe, daaaaaays to come."
"What have I done…"
"Oh hush, I promise I'll only tease you when I feel like it."
"Sooooo everyday then."
"Until you die."
"I figured."
"Seriously though…It's really sweet that you'd do that for me."
"Anything for you Kyoka," he kissed the top of her head, "Anything and everything."
"Anything, and everything."
"…"
"…"
"…It's different you know."
"Hm?"
"Being here, being with you, just everything."
"By that you mean?"
"Years ago I would've never dreamed that I'd make this far, the best I thought could ever happen to me is to be honored as an exceptional police officer or fire fighter, but now here I am. Here WE are, graduated, pros, and…and."
"Married?"
"Y-yeah…that," Midoriya wiped the tear from his eye with his hand, cautious to not make another tear-filled wet spot on the floor.
"Honestly," Jiro began tearing up herself, "Me neither."
"I'm still surprised you even said yes when I asked you out the first time."
"Don't be Izuku."
"Hm?"
"Don't be Izuku, you're the most amazing, brave, and special person I've ever met, you made feel strong, beautiful, like I made a difference by not just saving people but by singing to, confident, and loved. I could never say no to you, and I never will, even if I was given another choice. I want you, only you, now and always."
"Kyoka…"
"Yes?"
"…I love you."
"I love you to, now keep dancing."
"For how long?"
"Until my feet get tired."
"Seems I'm carrying you home then huh?"
"You know you enjoy it."
"You see right through me."
"I believe that's my job now."
"Couldn't have picked anyone better for it."
"Neither could I."
They held each other into night, surrounded by friends and family, their eyes closed as they dreamed about the rest of their lives, and beyond, bliss as can be.
The End.
Author's note: I just felt like writing a short one shot about Izuku and Kyoka dancing at their wedding, I thought it would just be cute and wholesome and I hope I stuck the landing on it. Sorry it's not as long as the others, I just had an idea and rolled with it for the most part, plus I wanted to at least get 1 story out about these two in February for obvious reasons.
Feel free to leave a review since I always read them, and check out my other stories if you just like fluff and comedy stories, i greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this, and a big thank you to both the fans of this story and the fans of me as an author, you guys are the best and you help make this all worthwhile.
Thanks again, stay safe out there, have a wonderful day, and keep up the good work!
