After some days of work, Bandit had managed to finally dig up all the bones found by him and his team, while also write down some notes to present to Dr. Cooper, along with data regarding some analysis they did to the bones and the samples taken by Dr. Boxer. At his hotel room, Bandit was talking to Dr. Cooper through the phone.

"I'm telling you, Dr. Cooper, I do feel we may have found something" he said. "I mean, finding the remains of a dire wolf here at Australia is already an anomaly, but finding it along with ones belonging to pre-historic dogs is something to think about."

"Okay, Bandit, let's just take a moment to think through" Dr. Cooper said. "I've received your reports and Dr. Boxer's and I have to agree, that's something to look for, but you can't forget how a narrow perspective can prevent an archaeologist…"

"…from getting the full picture" Bandit finished. "Yeah, I remember that. Don't worry, I'll make sure I won't narrow my perspective."

"Very well… I hope you arrive to Brisbane tomorrow" Dr. Cooper said.

"Yeah, I'll make sure everything is ready so we can return tomorrow afternoon" Bandit replied.

"Perfect" Dr. Cooper replied. "That means I can call to our facial reconstructionist. She will be happy to know she can come to Brisbane."

"Where is she from?" Bandit asked.

"She's from Los Angeles" Dr. Cooper.

Bandit whistled and said:

"That's far… just to get a facial reconstructionist" Bandit commented.

"Well, this is your first project, after all" Dr. Cooper said. "And since it will reflect the museum's reputation, I thought we may as well have the best we can get. And she possesses a very impressive resume."

"Okay, you know I trust your judgement, Dr. Cooper" Bandit replied. "I just have one request…"

"You want to go see your family as soon you arrive, right?" Dr. Cooper asked.

"Yeah, if you don't mind" Bandit said.

"As long you make sure the bones arrive safely to the museum, with all the papers in order… you can make a quick stop at home" Dr. Cooper said.

"Thank you, Dr. Cooper!" Bandit said, gratefully. "See you tomorrow."

He hanged off the phone and then went to get his tablet from where he called Chilli.

"Hey, honey, how are you doing?" she asked.

"Great!" Bandit asked. "I have wonderful news. Are the girls there with you?"

"No, they're at Wendy's playing with Judo" Chilli said.

"Maybe that's for the best" Bandit said. "That way, it can be a surprise."

"Let me guess… you're coming back" Chilli replied.

"Babe, you just ruined my great revealed!" Bandit joked, causing his wife to release a chuckle.

"I can only assume you're returning because you're already done, right?" Chilli asked.

"I did… and I think we have a good one" Bandit said. "I can feel it."

"Bandit, be careful with your enthusiasm" Chilli said.

"I know, I know, Dr. Cooper already warned me, but I can't help it" Bandit said. "You know, I haven't felt like this for a long time, this feeling of a great mystery right in front of my muzzle, asking to be solved…"

"I'm glad to know you're happy, honey" Chilli said, with a smile.

"I may be happy… but my happiness in seeing you and the girls is even greater" Bandit replied.

"Always a sweet talker, hein…" Chilli commented.

"Come on, are you going to tell me you don't love me for that?" Bandit asked.

"I guess you can say that…" Chilli replied. "Okay, I need to go. I still need to prepare dinner. See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow, babe" Bandit said, while ending the call.

The next day, Bandit spent the morning making sure the bones were all ready to be transported. After making sure everything was okay, he, Dr. Boxer and the rest of the team all got on board on a plane and returned back to Brisbane. As soon they arrived, Bandit, after making sure all the containers with the bones were all loaded in the proper transportation, asked Dr. Boxer to take care of the rest, taking then taxi to get home.

As soon he arrived home, he headed inside, placing his backpack carefully on the floor, while closing the door quietly. He climbed the stairs and headed towards the family room. He peeked inside and saw his daughters happily drawing on the floor. Chilli was reading a book on the couch, but she looked up and noticed her husband, who just made a hushing gesture to her, to which she just smiled. Bandit tiptoed towards the girls and, when he was close enough, he said, with an offended tone:

"I can't believe this! I just arrived from a very tiring trip and I don't have a decent welcoming?"

The girls turned around and, seeing Bandit, just made a big smile and shouted:

"Dad!"

The two of them jumped to Bandit, causing him to fall on the floor, with the two girls over him.

"Oh, we missed you so much!" Bluey exclaimed, while she and Bingo hugged their father, while wagging their tails.

"I missed you too, squirts" he replied, hugging back his daughters.

Bandit then proceeded to sit up, while having Bluey and Bingo sitting on his lap.

"I can't believe you're back" Bluey said.

"Why did you think I would not get back?" Bandit asked, while teasingly poking her nose.

"No, but we didn't when you would get back" Bingo said.

"Did you find anything interesting?" Bluey asked.

"You can say that" Bandit replied.

"And… where is it?" Bingo asked.

"Bingo, Dad didn't bring what he found back home" Bluey said. "He left it on the museum, right, Dad?"

"Precisely" Bandit replied. "I see you've been learning something, Bluey."

"Oh, but I want to see it" Bingo told.

"And you will, mate, once it is ready to be showed to everyone" Bandit replied, while rubbing his hand on Bingo's head.

"Come on, girls, let your dear dad get up" Chilli said, while making the girls get out of Bandit's lap, allowing him to stand up. "Besides, I also want to welcome him."

Chilli proceeded to give a kiss to Bandit's cheek.

"Welcome home, honey" she said.

"Thanks, babe" he replied. "But I just came home to let my backpack and give you three a kiss. I still need to have a meeting with Dr. Cooper."

"You're… getting out again?" Bingo asked, sadly.

"Just for some minutes, mate" Bandit replied to his youngest daughter. "I'll just have a talk with Dr. Cooper and then I'll get back home for dinner."

Having said that, he got out, while bring with him a file with all the notes and analysis he had gathered. For a moment, he thought in taking the car, but after spending some hours in a plane, he just wanted to stretch his legs and so he made a little run towards the museum. When he arrived there, he met with Dr. Boxer who asked:

"So, how it was with the family?"

"It was like… take a breath of fresh air" he replied. "I just came to meet with Dr. Cooper and give him my notes and analysis of the bones."

"Well, he is at his office… with the new face reconstructionist" Dr. Boxer replied.

"Oh, I see… and how is she?" Bandit asked.

"I just saw her briefly, but she is very pretty" Dr. Boxer replied.

"Okay… I guess I'll about to find out a little more" Bandit said.

He went to Dr. Cooper's office and, arriving there, he knocked at the door.

"Come in" Bandit heard him say.

Bandit opened the door and came in, finding Dr. Cooper sitting on his chair, facing someone sitting on the chair in front of his desk.

"I'm sorry for interrupt you, Dr. Cooper" he said.

"Oh, Bandit, my boy, you're just in time" Dr. Cooper. "I was just talking to our guest about you. My dear, allow me to introduce you to Dr. Bandit Heeler. Bandit, this is Miss Huskin from Los Angeles."

Bandit froze for a brief moment when he heard that last name, as it was one he hadn't heard for quite some time, recovering after concluding many dogs had that last name. However, that thought didn't come true, as he came to know who she was, as she stood up and turned to him. Bandit's heart started to race, while he tried to process what he was seeing. He hoped he was just seeing a ghost from the past, but that hope came undone when she talked:

"Hello… Bandit."

"Emily…?" Bandit asked, still in disbelief.
