Blaze

It had been a few days after they had defeated Syndrome. The world was safe again. Their lives were never going to be normal, but hey. They were never normal to begin with in the first place.

Bob and Lucius had their usual guys night out, sitting in the car and chatting over drinks. What Syndrome did was terrifying, but it was nice to relive the Glory Days. Perhaps they weren't as glorious as he remembered, since what Syndrome did was a taste other super villains did in the past.

With the events that happened, Bob also figured out how the other Supers went missing. They were friends. Colleagues who stuck his neck out for him back in the day.

Though this was going to hurt Lucius just as much.

"Do you remember when I told you how I found out Syndrome's files on all the Supers he tracked down?"

"Yeah, you did," began Lucius. "Shame what happened to Gazerbeam… At least he helped you out in the caves down there."

Bob breathed. "Do you remember Alicia?"

"Alicia? Blazestone? How can't I. I always had to put out the fires she made around town."

Lucius also dated her in the past. Bob remembered when Lucius told him how another Super, Downburst got jealous of him since Downburst had feelings for Blazestone as well. The fight ignited into property damage and a volley of sass and insults. Back then, it was a pretty hilarious story to hear.

"Lucius… Alicia, she was one of Syndrome's victims. She didn't survive."

Lucius' eyes widen. "No… She, she didn't survive?"

"She didn't make it at all. Lucius, I'm so sorry…"

When Syndrome shot the jet plane Helen and the kids were in, it was the most horrifying few seconds of his life.

"No…" Bob caught his best friend.

Lucius was married to Honey now, and he and Blazestone were a thing of the past, but once you love someone… it never goes away.

"Why did we have to go into hiding, Bob… why? If only we kept in touch more often. If only we stayed friends so I could have stopped her…"
