-Chapter 63-

-Shelby pov-

Getting closer to nationals is not a fun thing. It's also something I'm not taking lightly. Judy, Holly, Maribel, and Rachel are judging with me. Emma wanted to but is busy with Fran. I really hope they aren't doing anything around the babies.

Today we are listening to duo songs. I'm not sure how this will go honestly. The pairs are pretty well together..well minus sugar and Tina. That one worries me. They've had to practice together.

I sigh and look at the list. Up first is Sam and Lucy. I felt bad for Rachel and Santana for them being paired. I know they don't swing that way but still. I've heard the history.

"Alright" I sit in my chair and look at the stage "Lucy and Sam! You are up!"

Lucy and Sam walk to center stage. I look at them and see them smiling. This may cause some issues. At least we didn't give them any love songs. The music starts and I sigh.

I'm fucked.

-Lucy-Sam-Both-

Don't go breaking my heart

I couldn't if I tried

Oh, honey if I get restless

Baby you're not that kind

Don't go breaking my heart

You take the weight off of me

Oh, honey when you knocked on my door

I gave you my key

Nobody knows it

When I was down

I was your clown

Nobody knows it

Right from the start

I gave you my heart

I gave you my heart

So don't go breaking my heart

I won't go breaking your heart

Don't go breaking my heart

And nobody told us

'Cause nobody showed us

And now it's up to us babe

I think we can make it

So don't misunderstand me

You put the light in my life

You put the sparks to the flame

I've got your heart in my sights

Nobody knows it

When I was down

I was your clown

Nobody knows it

Right from the start

I gave you my heart

I gave you my heart

Don't go breaking my heart

I won't go breaking your heart

Don't go breaking my heart

Nobody knows it

When I was down

I was your clown

Right from the start

I gave you my heart

I gave you my heart

So don't go breaking my heart

I won't go breaking your heart

Don't go breaking my

Don't go breaking my

I won't go breaking your heart

Don't go breaking my heart

Don't go breaking my heart

I won't go breaking your heart

Don't go breaking my

Don't go breaking my heart

I won't go breaking your heart

Don't go breaking my

Don't go breaking my heart

"That was wonderful" Everyone claps minus Rachel and Santana "Uhhh why don't we have our next group?"

"I agree" Rachel looks down at her paper "Santana or Snixx with Brittany!"

Alright! I know I didn't give them any love songs! But the look on Santana's face has me worried. I really hope this is going to screw us over. We need a duo.

-Santana-Brittany-Both-

Say, say, say what you want

But don't play games with my affection

Take, take, take what you need

But don't leave me with no direction

All alone, I sit home by the phone

Waiting for you, baby

Through the years

How can you stand to hear

My pleading for you dear?

You know I'm crying ooh ooh ooh ooh

Go, go, go where you want

But don't leave me here forever

You, you, you stay away

So long girl, I see you never

What can I do

Girl to get through to you?

Cause I love you, baby

Standing here, baptisted in all my tears

Baby through the years

You know I'm crying ooh ooh ooh ooh

You never ever worry

And you never shed a tear

You saying that my love ain't real

Just look at my face

These tears ain't drying

You, you, you can never say

That I'm not the one who really loves you

I pray, pray, pray every day

That you'll see things, girl like I do

What can I do girl, to get through to you?

Cause I love you baby

Standing here baptised in all my tears

Baby through the years

You know I'm crying, ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

"Bravo!" Everyone claps and I see Rachel still not happy "Uhh last up! Tina and sugar!"

The two step into center stage. I can't see any emotion on either ones face. This competition may be hopeless. New York may just be a trip.

-Tina-Sugar-

"That was wonderful!" Everyone cheers "We are going to go over our votes and get back!"

We turn the mic off "I vote sugar and Tina" I give Rachel a look and she holds her hands up in surrender "They were good!"

"You can't judge if you won't be unbiased" I look around at everyone "That goes to each of you"

"Honestly I agree with Rachel" Judy turns her paper toward me "They were better in my opinion"

"I had San and Britt" Holly turns the paper toward me "I think they could be the best"

"I had Lucy and Sam" Maribel sighs "It's up to you Shelby"

"Great" I sigh and look at my paper "Love making these calls"

"You make it on the mic" Judy turns it on "We are giving the duet!"

I feel all eyes on me "The duet is going to" I look at each of them and shake my head "It's going to Sugar and Tina! But I want a different song please!"

"Yes mam!" Tina Turns toward Sugar "We got it!"

They hug and I smile. I'm glad that they are friendly now. I dismiss glee and collect the papers. I look at everyone's and see they all had the same minus Rachel. Why didn't they choose Lucy and Sam?

I'm thinking I may need new judges.
