Just as Lexie was scrubbing out from a craniotomy, her phone began to buzz with alerts from Mark. A selfie of Mark and their two kids- Branden and Alexa in the car with the message
"Anxiously awaiting your arrival!"
Lexie quickly texted Mark
"You 3 are just the cutest! I'll be down in 15 minutes, main parking lot I assume?"
Mark liked this text message, and Lexie went down to the 4th floor attendings lounge to get out of her navy scrubs and into much more comfortable clothes. Placing her scrubs in the laundry hamper, Lexie grabbed her purse and walked down to the lobby, where she spotted Mark's Tesla.
Mark had just got this sleek all black Tesla, with the doors that went up like wings. It kept their two kiddos entertained for hours, and even Lexie had to admit it was cool.
"Hello my loves!"
Lexie says, obviously excited to see her family.
"Mommy!"
Alexa shouted, and Lexie immediately went around to hug her daughter.
"Alexa!"
Lexie shouted, and immediately enveloped her daughter in a hug. Alexa turned 5 about two months ago, and lost her front two teeth a week ago, so she had the cutest lisp. Lexie could listen to her talk all day long.
Branden, their new 9 year old, anxiously awaited a hug from his mom. Branden smiled the exact same way Mark did, and it absolutely melted Lexie's heart. Every time. Lexie walked over to the other side of the car where she hugged her son.
"We do need to get moving, like now!"
Mark said, not wanting to be late.
"Do you have all the bags? The kids you know what's?"
Lexie questions her husband.
"What happened to hey love! How was your day? Any cool surgeries?"
Mark says, obviously teasing his wife.
"Well, I was going to get there but you had to get through my rapid fire questions first!"
Lexie says, doing the same little nose scrunch Alexa did.
"Plus, I was waiting to do this."
Lexie says, before reaching over and connecting her lips to Mark's. They had been together for nearly 10 years, but Lexie would never be sick of kissing Mark. After the couples lips finally drift apart, Branden and Alexa groan in response, and both go
"EW!"
When Lexie was getting antsy to talk to her husband, without the children listening in on her every word, she passed them their iPads.
"You are never going to believe what I found out today! Okay, okay, guess? No, your way too slow. Since Derek and Meredith are moving to DC, Derek obviously cannot be the Head of Neurosurgery, and guess who he is recommending to the board? Me!"
Lexie says, nearly talking a mile a minute.
"Lex! Oh my God! Are you serious? No way!"
Mark says, beaming with pride over his wife. All of Lexie's wildest dreams were coming true- she had the perfect guy, perfect kids, and perfect job. Lexie continues to buzz about her new job promotion, and blabs on about her day.
As soon as they near the mountains the resort is located by, the WiFi keeps cutting out and it is safe to say that the kids were not pleased in the slightest way about this. Lexie, Branden, Alexa, and occasional tidbits from Mark decide to play an "I- Spy" game to help pass the time. Mark stumps them all with
"I spy with my little eye, something white and fluffy!"
He later revealed it as snow, which seemed to be in endless amounts here in the woods. 2 hours later, the 4 of them pull up to "Ski Chalet" in Stevens Pass, Washington.
