Alex is crossing the catwalk as his phone begins to buzz with an incoming call from Jo.

"Hey! What's up?"

Alex says, wondering why Jo was calling him. He has until 10am to meet her at the car. It had to be like 9:15, he still had plenty of time! Alex looked down at his watch before realizing that it was actually 10:15am.

"Well, the kiddos and I are awaiting your arrival in the car! Whenever you feel like it though, Princess!"

Jo says, obviously teasing Alex, using the same nickname he gave her all those years ago. Alex hung up the phone, and immediately pivoted towards the third floor attendings lounge, wanting to get to the car ASAP. Alex passed Lexie, who he presumed was about to leave to head up to the resort.

Alex quickly pulled off his navy scrubs, hung up his coat and scrub cap in his locker and grabbed his phone and wallet and headed out to the car. Alex hates when Jo drives, so naturally he makes her switch to the passenger seat.

"Daddyyyy?"

Gracie calls out from the back seat, and Alex immediately hops out of his seat to give his daughter a hug.

"Gracie Girl!"

Alex says, using his nickname for his daughter, who immediately goes in for a hug. Gracie had turned 5 nearly 2 months ago, a week after Mark and Lexie's kid, Alexa. The two girls were connected at the hip, just like their mothers.

"Dad! Can I show you my new handshake I learned at school?"

Ryler, their son asks Alex.

"Yeah of course!"

Alex says, and nearly doubles over in laughter when his son goes in for a formal handshake.

"It's his new party trick!"

Jo says in between fits of laughter from the passenger seat, filming all of this on her phone. Alex eventually hops into the driver's seat, much to Jo's dismay.

"Babe, I love you, but you go like 80 in a 35 zone. Speaking on the kiddos behalf, we all would like to live. So, instead you're the copilot!"

Alex says, and Ryler chirps on

"Plus, your way better at passing out snacks than Dad is."

Jo laughs, and connects her phone to the AUX cord. Jo got a new car, a Mercedes Benz, and was determined to keep it in good condition.

"Speed it up Daddy!"

Gracie says, obviously copying something Jo had told her to say.

"Sing it Gracie!"

Jo says in a sing songy voice, and the two exchange a fist bump.

"Can we please have some iPad time?"

Ryler says, obviously bored. Alex and Jo come to a mutual consensus and hand the two kids their iPads.

"Any good cases today? I haven't cut anyone up in 24 hours and I think I might be going through withdrawal."

Jo says, realizing how much of a surgery junkie she was.

"Well, a baby was born at 19 weeks today. Mom was in a head on MVC, but pulled through. Kid is rumored to have our longest NICU stay, if he even makes it long enough to see life outside the NICU. I didn't want to leave him, but Addison and Arizona promised they would send updates."

"Yeah, yeah, I want the gory details. The blood, the guts, the scalpels! No sad stories, please!"

Jo says, obviously joking. Alex recalls the trauma that came in at 5am, which feels like an eternity. This satisfies Jo, who begins to tell Alex she removed from an old lady's pancreas yesterday.

The two share OR stories for the rest of the car ride, and before they know it, they are pulling up to "Ski Chalet" in Stevens Pass, Washington.
