Hermione jumped to a wrenching noise from behind her. She'd only left the boys with her laptop for a few minutes to play games and sincerely hoped they had not wrecked anything. She ran back to the kitchen.

"That's disgusting!" She heard Harry exclaim, while her boyfriend laughed in disbelief beside him.

"Merlin, look at this, Harry" Ron guffawed, pointing at the screen with gusto, just as Hermione rounded the corner into the kitchen. "It's you and Malfoy!"

"What!" Draco grimaced in disgust, pretending to wretch onto the table. He was the first to notice she'd entered "Hermione, what have you been reading?"

"I thought I left you guys to play video games, not scour my laptop and look at everything I've done." She reprimanded, her arms on her hips as she glared at the boys.

"But Hermione, we accidentally pressed that cross button in the corner and then it all disappeared" Ron whined, "All our game stuff, gone"

"And anyway, that's not the point, what have you been reading, Hermione. You're like a sister to me and I would never allow my sister to read this" Harry declared, pointing accusingly at the screen.

Intrigued, Hermione leaned over the counter top, to take a peek at her screen. Instantly, she knew why they were all worked up. A peal of laughter broke through her lips.

"This is not funny, Hermione" Draco said, grimacing as he tried not to look at the screen. "I think we need to go to a psychiatrist. Have you been writing these too?"

Tears leaking from her eyes, Hermione struggled to gain control of herself. This really was too funny. She shook her head fervently.

Finally calming down enough to speak, Hermione began to explain "That's fanfiction"

"What?" Ron asked

"Fanfiction. It's a place where fans of ours write stories about us, pairing us up with different characters and making their own alternate universes"

"Wait, so in this one" Draco tried not to look at the screen as he pointed to an explicit Drarry fanfic "is one where they've paired me and Harry?"

Hermione nodded her head, taking control of the screen.

"Wait. So what ships are there?" Harry asked.

Hermione paused. "Literally, every one of us in the books have been paired with another of our characters, but the most popular are Harry/Draco, Me/Draco and Me/Ron."

"Wow! I seem to be popular" Draco grinned, seemingly having forgotten about the Drarry element.

"Hmmm" Hermione nodded "They seem to perceive you as some sort of bad boy"

Harry and Ron shook their heads.

"He's just a little scaredy-cat on the inside"

"Like you two are any better. At least I have a good reputation. You, Ron, are probably paired with Harry, here in some"

The two boys looked at each other in disgust.

"No way"

"Not him"

Hermione nodded, ignoring their denials and typing up something into the search bar before sliding it over to show Harry and Ron "Quite a few, but not as many as me and Draco"

"We have the most do we?" Draco smirked, while Harry and Ron hovered around the laptop screen, cringing at the contents of the screen simultaneously.

"In fact, we're the most popular" Hermione smiled.

"Well, they got something right" Draco dipped his head to give Hermione a chaste kiss on the cheek.

Hermione smiled back.

Draco was right. The fandom had got something right.
