DxD Fan - Yeah I wanted the Angels to be more Supernatural like from the T.V show. I loosely based the Egyptian gods from the movie Gods of Egypt, but I'm pretty much making stuff up as I go for every pantheon of gods. As for Micheal, he's definitely stronger. I didn't like how the Devils were more powerful than him in canon seeing as he was one of the first beings to come into creation. Some people might not like it but it's kind of where I'm leaning towards. I'm also taking this story a bit slow so I don't burn out of ideas quickly and just drop it entirely.
6The Library of Thoth was greater than anything Ryusei had ever seen. A massive domed underground dwelling some five levels deep with an elevator and a staircase leading down. Each layer was filled to the brim with everything from history books to cooking books. Mahogany wood laid on the ground with polished gold acting as railings and chandelier. At the bottom of the library sat a large table where a familiar face was stuffing her brain with knowledge.
"Houki!" cried Genta as he rushed down the stairs to greet her.
Kirihana Houki, a tall girl with teal hair and gray eyes. She still wore her exorcist cloak, but underneath was a white dress reminiscent of Nephthys. She looked up and hardly smiled.
"Oh, you made it," said Houki. "I thought you'd be here way later."
"Houki," said Ryusei. "What Ra and Nephthys said, is it true?"
Houki set her books down. "The Captain and I have talked about the possibility of the Prophecy before, but the Red Dragon Emperor hadn't yet awakened…until now."
"So you're saying that you both knew about the other three dragons, and neither of you ever thought about telling us that Lucifer himself might be walking the Earth again?" asked Ryusei, balling his fist. "How could you keep something like that from us!"
"C-Calm down Ryusei," said Genta. "I'm sure they had their reasons…"
"Fuck their reasons!" cried Ryusei. "I'm tired of being kept in the dark, I thought we were all friends…family…"
Houki closed her eyes. "Do not blame the Captain, I was the one who suggested we keep this a secret until we knew more."
"W-What?" asked Ryusei.
Houki placed her hand on the table as four magic circles opened. "Ddraig, the Red Dragon Emperor. Albion, the White Dragon Overlord. Trishula, the Blue Dragon Monarch. And Homura, the Black Dragon King. Their origins are completely unknown, but they each came to rule a part of the world. And at some point in time, they were under the total domination of Lucifer Morningstar. When the Great War neared it's end, Lucifer released all four of them back into their domains. They were each sealed into Sacred Gears and passed throughout humanity after the decision to seal Lucifer was made by Micheal and the current Devil Kings."
The magic circles all depicted each of the dragons. It was an old image, even Ryusei could tell. Fire, light, ice, and hellfire.
"Of all the four dragons," said Houki. "The Black Dragon King, Homura, was by far the most cruel. He sought to conquer and rule over humanity, seeing them as nothing more than insects he can control. Every known user of his Sacred Gear turned out to become tyrants and dictators…Xerxes, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Napoleon…"
"And he was the last to awaken?" asked Genta.
Houki shook her head. "He was the first. Then Trishula. Then Albion, and then Ddraig. The Captain suspected that Homura and his user would try and kill the current Red Dragon Emperor, so we tried to locate and track him. We locked it down to Japan, but it wasn't until a young boy was attacked and killed by the Fallen Angel Raynare that we confirmed it…in Kuoh."
In Kuoh? "Rias Gremory's new pawn?" asked Genta.
Houki nodded. "Two of the Four Heavenly Dragons have gathered together in the same city. It's like an entire ocean of magic pressure that anyone can feel."
"So if you knew all of that," said Ryusei. "Why are you here, in Egypt, instead of helping us?"
"I am helping you," said Houki, jumping to her feet. "Not all battles can be won with brute force alone Ryusei. Use your head for a second, will you? There are 666 seals that must be broken in order for Lucifer's gates to be opened, and the first has already broken. The enemy likely already knows how to break the seals and needed a way to somehow break the first one. All of the conditions were met, they just needed to forcefully awaken Ddraig."
Ryusei gulped. "So…they sent a Fallen Angel to kill him."
Houki nodded. "And because the Prophecy is a secret that only a handful of people all over the world know, what better way to distract the entire world than to have everyone on a wild goose chase for the murder of the Holy Church's High Chancellor."
Genta scratched his head. "You guys seriously like using big words, don't you?"
Houki sighed. "In simpler terms, somebody out there orchestrated the events necessary for Rias Gremory to reincarnate a new pawn, which so happens to be the wielder of the Red Dragon Emperor. And once he was awakened, they fabricated a story about how the young and naive Paladin of the Church and his Generals killed their High Chancellor and had the arrest order issued to every major faction in the world. We've been played…"
Ryusei gulped. "So you came here to get information?"
Houki nodded. "I've kept in touch with everybody, keeping tabs and making sure nobody gets hurt. I left breadcrumbs for Kyoka-Chan to find me, made sure that I "accidentally" ran into Jushiro to keep him out of trouble. "Accidentally" made sure that you two idiots landed together and even "accidentally" making sure that Xenovia and Irina "accidentally" ran into Kyoka-Chan on the way to Kuoh." She walked towards Ryusei and glared at him. "So the next time you wanna open your big mouth and accuse me of not helping you, remember how many times I've saved your sorry butts."
Ryusei gulped, and lowered his head. "Sorry…I didn't realize you did all of that."
Houki smirked. "Apology accepted. But circumstances aside, it is good to see you guys again."
"So does this mean you're staying here?" asked Genta, pulling out his puppy dog eyes.
"S-Stop it," Houki looked away. "We can leave at any time. I've researched what I needed to."
"But either way," said Ryusei. "I'm surprised Ra even let you and Jushiro into Egypt that easily."
"Easily?" asked Houki with a raised eyebrow. "I had to fight off Set until he said I was worthy of stepping into Egypt. But I've looked at everything I can in here for now. Let's go find Jushiro and we can go back."
…
Toshiro sat by Xenovia and Irina's side as they rested in the warehouse, replaying the events of tonight over and over in his head. That masked man, he definitely knew something that Toshiro didn't. The way that his body acted, it was almost as if Trishula was reacting to that man somehow. There were so many things that Toshiro had yet to relearn about himself, but one thing was clear. Whoever that masked man was, he was Toshiro's enemy without a doubt.
"They'll wake up when they're good and ready," said Kyoka. "Sitting with them won't do them any good."
"It's about all I can do for them right now," said Toshiro.
Searing pain swelled through his body as his head throbbed. Kyoka growled as she held up her fist in anger.
"I swear if I hear one more pathetic complaint from you…" said Kyoka.
"Y-You hit me!" cried Toshiro. "That really hurt!"
"I'll do a lot more than just punch you if you don't stop acting like a defenseless child," said Kyoka. "You're the Paladin of the Holy Church, the top ranked exorcist in the world…get your shit together man."
Toshiro rubbed his head trying to relieve the pain. "But what can I even do?"
"Well for starters," said Kyoka. "Stop complaining about how powerless you are. Use that brain of yours will you? This is massive information for us."
"What do you mean?" asked Toshiro.
"The guy that went after Xenovia and Irina, he was after you," said Kyoka. "Knowing that, it's more than likely that he's connected with your missing memories. Someone's trying to hunt you down, and that masked man's connected."
Toshiro and Kyoka walked over to the round table as Kyoka pulled up images from earlier. "I was able to capture these."
They were pictures of the masked man. Tall, dark coat, and that skull mask on his face.
"You recognize that mask from anymore?" asked Toshiro.
"Not a clue," said Kyoka. "But I'm more than willing to bet one of us does."
"Who?" asked Toshiro.
"Masamune," said Kyoka. "He's like a traveler, a vagabond. He's helped me gather information and dirt on nearly every faction in the world. The things that he knows…he could probably end an entire country with a few sentences."
Toshiro gulped. "And…he's our friend?"
"Fortunately, yes," said Kyoka. "Though without Houki, I can't track him."
"So either way we have to wait until Ryusei and Genta come back," Toshiro sighed. "Kyoka, my body almost reacted when I was there. It was almost instinct…"
"I don't know much if anything about Trishula or the dragons," said Kyoka. "To be honest, I'm not even sure there are many people in the world who know the truth about them."
"Hey Kyoka," said Toshiro. "I've been thinking, but magic can do almost anything right?"
"Yeah," she replied. "As long as you have a full grasp of how the spell works and the laws of reality, you can theoretically do anything. Why?"
"I was wondering if there was a spell out there that can help me piece together whatever little information I know," said Toshiro. "Or to be more precise, is there a spell that would let me see whatever Trishula saw? He's in my Sacred Gear isn't he? Which means that he must have seen or experienced when my memories were stolen. Maybe he-"
"Maybe he saw who did it!" Kyoka jumped up and ran over to Toshiro, forcing him to his knees and grabbing his face. "This is what I mean by using your head! You clever idiot!"
"Shank you," Toshiro said with his cheeks squished together. She finally let go and got to working, pulling up her Archive. "What's my relationship with Trishula like anyway?"
"There's no spell for me directly link your memories," said Kyoka. "At least none that I'm capable of using, the High Magic stuff is usually Houki's area of expertise, but I can force a link between the two of you to speak. Normally only the user can dive into the Sacred Gear's inner world, but since your connection with Trishula is somewhat severed, I can forcibly throw you in for a limited time."
"Completely ignored huh?" Toshiro sighed.
"You won't have long," said Kyoka. "At most, 15 minutes, you need to convince Trishula to show you what he saw then."
"And if I can't?" asked Toshiro.
Kyoka had a…mischievous look on her face. "It's the Sacred Gear's inner world, if he doesn't let you out you'll be trapped their for eternity. Good luck!"
"W-Wait what-"
Kyoka pressed a button on her keyboard as Toshiro felt his body go numb. It felt like he dropped to the ground, but rather than the ground, he was falling through a massive hole. He saw the air get more and more chilly until Toshiro could see the ground, a massive frozen wasteland covered in ice and snowing.
Toshiro landed with a loud BOOM, snow exploding into the air.
"Son of a bitch!" Toshiro pried his head from the ground.
So this was Trishula's inner world. It wasn't a wasteland after all. Poking up from the snow, Toshiro could see that this was a village. Remnants of houses and huts were visible, if ever so slightly.
I see you haven't lost your touch after all.
This voice…The snow on the ground began to spiral into a tornado as Toshiro could see a pair of golden eyes piercing through the snow. With a loud roar, Trishula appeared from the center of the tornado. It was majestic, every time he saw the dragon. Wings made of crystal, a body covered in armor that was over a football field long, and talons that looked like they could poke right through him.
Trishula peered his head down to look at Toshiro. You've done well, human.
Toshiro gulped. "I need to talk to you."
I assumed as much. Our connection isn't what it once was, coming here should be nearly impossible. I'm guessing it was either your strategist or that Sorcerer who forced you here. Tricky bunch, your friends.
Toshiro smiled. "They're your friends too, you know."
The dragon scoffed. I have no need for such mundane things.
"Whatever you say big guy," Toshiro got the feeling that Trishula was much more friendlier than he let on. "I came to ask if you saw anything when I lost my memories. Where I was, or who took them?"
I see, said Trishula. I knew the moment she appeared, something was wrong.
"A-A woman?" asked Toshiro. "Who was she? Do you know?"
I do not. However she is an exceptional mage. She cast a spell that directly nullified by perfect defense, virtually making me useless in helping you against her attacks. My best guess, she's a lap dog of the Mage's Association.
"Mages Association?" asked Toshiro. "I don't know who they are."
Ask your friend, the Archive user. She should know plenty of those mongrels.
"You sound like you don't like them," said Toshiro.
You will realize why. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, and an exceptional affinity for ice.
"For ice? Like us?" asked Toshiro.
There are not many beings on this world that are as exceptionally adept at ice magic. The only person that can rival my strength would be the Leviathan girl, but this human is something I have never seen before. Tread with caution, Ozora Toshiro.
"You're being…unusually helpful today," said Toshiro with a raised eyebrow.
The Prophecy of the Starless Night is soon upon us. If possible, I would like us to survive the onslaught that is about to come.
"The…The what?" asked Toshiro.
The dragon's head came closer to Toshiro.
Listen to me very closely, boy. The Black One has made his move, I fear that the people responsible for your missing memories are connected to the Prophecy. Be careful in the days to come, this will be your hardest trial yet.
Toshiro gulped. "Can you stop being so vague? Tell me what this prophecy is!"
The Prophecy of the Starless Night foretells the beginning of the end. The Four Heavenly Dragons shall gather, unleashing the Sins of humanity. And when darkness blankets the sky, the Beast shall walk. And all shall die.
Toshiro blinked. "Oh…kay…"
The one that you humans call the Devil, shall be reawakened. Lucifer Morningstar will walk again.
"L-Lucifer? As in the actual Devil?" asked Toshiro. "You're telling me Armageddon is here?"
Before that comes, you must find your memories. The 666 seals keeping Lucifer at bay have already begun to break, the awakening of all Four Heavenly Dragons at once was the first seal. And it is those Four Dragons that can stop the Beast's awakening.
Toshiro had more questions, but the world around him was already crumbling. The ice underneath his feet began to crack.
"What the hell!" Toshiro struggled to maintain his balance. "She said 15 minutes!"
Something must have happened, said Trishula. Heed my warning, Toshiro. We must find Ddraig, find your memories, and stop Lucifer from fully awakening.
The ice shattered, caving Toshiro into an endless abyss underneath his feet. It felt like he was falling into nothing, until he hit his head on something hard.
"Get up!" cried Kyoka. "We're under attack!"
Toshiro blinked a few times to readjust. He shot to his feet and felt the ground begin to tremble. He saw Kyoka on her Archive, frustrated and annoyed.
"What's happening?" asked Toshiro.
"Devils," said Kyoka. "There's basically a whole army surrounding us."
"What? I thought we made a truce with Rias!"
"Yeah, with Rias. Her brother…he's a whole different story." Kyoka gritted her teeth. "This is bad, we're completely surrounded, no way out. We've got two people completely unconscious and you still don't have full use of Trishula or Divine Sunderer."
"What are our odds…" asked Toshiro.
"Taking all of that into calculation, plus the amount of firepower and people they have…" said Kyoka. "Less than 1%."
"Attention Ozora Toshiro," a voice said loudly from outside. It was feminine. "Under orders from Sirzechs Lucifer and the Holy Church, you and your friends are under arrest for the attempted murder of High Chancellor Genryusai! Come out with your hands up! We have the warehouse surrounded. There's nowhere to go!"
"I guess Rias couldn't convince her brother after all," said Kyoka. "What do we do Toshiro?"
This was it…This wasn't just some training session or a situation where he could rely on anyone else. One fuck up here and they could all die. This wasn't the end. He still had to find his memories, find out what's really going on, and who the hell is trying to bring back the Devil.
"Is there any way we can call everyone here?" asked Toshiro.
Kyoka's eye's widened. "The pocketwatch…The pocketwatch is a spell that gives our location to everyone who has one. It's like a distress beacon."
"Then we use it," said Toshiro, pulling out his pocketwatch and tossing it to Kyoka. "That's your job right now. Call everyone to come here immediately, and keep Xenovia and Irina safe."
"What are you gonna do?" asked Kyoka.
"I'm gonna go have a talk with these devils."
…
Ryusei had never seen an arena quite like the one in Cairo. A large and mostly empty arena made of limestone the size of a football field. Approaching the arena brought chills down Ryusei's spine as he heard shouting and explosions bringing up smoke.
"That idiot…" Houki sighed.
The three of them arrived to see a topless man going head to head with a metal man with a falcon head and large metal wings.
"Is that-" asked Genta.
"Horus," said Houki. "Prince of Egypt and the god of light."
Ryusei watched in awe as Jushiro went head to head with a god, unarmed…and was actually holding his own. His long blonde hair was tied back into a knot. The tattoos running down both of his arms were lit up with every punch that he threw at Horus.
"Okay boys! That's enough!" cried Houki, walking into the field.
The two immediately halted to a stop, right before their fists could make contact. They both turned to stare at Houki, as Ryusei and Genta followed behind her.
"Houki," said Horus. "It is unwise to halt a match between a god and his opponent."
"That may be, but unfortunately I need this idiot alive," said Houki. "Apologies, your Highness."
"No need for such formalities," the metal on his skin seemed to melt off, revealing the body of a fit man with tanned skin and long brown hair and startling blue eyes. "Ah! These must be your friends! As Prince of Egypt, I welcome you to our kingdom."
Ryusei bowed. "Thank you, your Highness. It is our honor."
"Ryu! Genta!" Jushiro jumped at them, wrapping his sweaty arms around their necks. "Long time guys! What are you doing here?"
"We're here to find you and Houki," said Ryusei. "The Captain's in danger, remember? And get your arm off me, your armpit smells like rotten gym socks."
Jushiro smiled. "Sorry, sorry."
"Ryusei's right Jushiro," said Houki. "Pack your things, we have to go immediately."
"Does that mean you found Thoth's library too much of a bore?" asked Horus.
Houki smiled. "Quite the opposite your Highness. Lord Thoth's library proved to be essential. But I'm afraid my own master requires my attention."
"I see," said Horus with a smile. "Your master must be quite the man, to have both you and Jushiro by his side. I know he is in safe hands."
"You honor us with your flattery, Lord Horus," said Houki.
Jushiro held out a hand. "Let's fight again soon, Horus."
Horus smirked, but returned Jushiro's handshake. "And this time, I won't pull my punches."
Ryusei didn't know what was more impressive, the fact that Jushiro managed to fight a god to a draw, or the fact that he can speak to one so casually.
Suddenly, Ryuse's pocket began to glow. He pulled it out to see the pocketwatch the Captain had given them begin to glow and open by themselves. The same happened with the other three. A holographic image of Kyoka appeared.
"This is a message to all Generals under the command of the Paladin," said Kyoka. "This is an S-Class emergency. The situation is dire. Shiro has lost his memories and we are surrounded by an army of Devils. We have two unconscious and not enough manpower to fight off an army with a Devil King in the mix. Requesting full assistance. I repeat, this is an S-Class emergency. If anyone receives this message, our Captain is in grave danger. I will send our coordinates after this message has ended."
"We have to go," said Ryusei. "Now."
"The situation is more grim that I had hoped," said Houki. "Apologies, Lord Horus, but we must be on our way."
Jushiro returned with his backpack on and a serious face. "Let's go."
"Houki, Jushiro," said Horus. "If the time ever comes that you need any assistance, shoot a prayer. I will surely hear your call."
Houki smiled. "Thank you, Lord Horus. We'll be on our way."
"We're coming Captain," said Ryusei.
…
They seriously weren't kidding when they said they had the warehouse surrounded. Walking out of the warehouse, Toshiro could see lines of Devils encompassing the entire area, with even more circling the skies. They weren't visible, but Toshiro could tell there were even more hidden in the trees and the darkness. There really were no escape routes…
"Hello," said Toshiro. "Nice to meet you guys."
Toshiro could see Issei and Asia, as well as Rias Gremory and her peerage. However the one in charge seemed to be a girl around Issei's age, small with long black hair tied into twin tails and dark violet eyes. She wore a forest green business suit with a skirt and stockings.
"I am the Dvil King Serafall Leviathan," said the girl. "Will you come peacefully?"
"Leviathan?" asked Toshiro. So this must be the person that Trishula had mentioned, the mage with an affinity for ice that rivals his own strength. He forgot to mention she was a Devil King…
"You look like a smart girl, Serafall," said Toshiro. "So I'm hoping you're open minded enough when I say that we were framed."
"And the proof to go with your claim?" asked Serafall.
"Well where's the proof that I actually tried to kill him?" asked Toshiro.
"If you were innocent," said Serfall. "Then why did you run?"
Toshiro gritted his teeth. So much for open negotiations.
"Listen to-" Toshiro was cut off a sword was held to his throat and his arms and legs were bound. Kiba Yuuto, the blonde boy in Rias's peerage subdued him with the help of some girls he didn't recognize.
"I'm sorry Toshiro-Kun," said Kiba.
"D-Don't worry," said Toshiro. "You're only following orders."
"Just give it up," said Serafall. "We're taking you in for questioning, and then handing you over to the Church."
"You really have me caught," said Toshiro. He was wrong…he didn't have to do all of this by himself. If they were going to bring their friends to detain him, then maybe he could bring people to back him up as well. "Alright you idiots, if you're going to show now would be a great time…RYUSEI!"
From the darkness, an arrow shot at the ground that carried a kunai knife. From seemingly nowhere, Genta appeared. Using the back of his sword, he knocked all of the people detaining him away. As soon as they landed, the ground became malleable and trapped their feet.
"Sorry we're late," Ryusei dropped next to him.
"But we made it," Genta sheathed his sword.
Toshiro finally breathed a sigh of relief. He stretched his arms as five people walked up besides him, lining up and facing the army of Devils before them.
"Took your sweet time didn't you?" asked Kyoka with a smile.
"Well we're here, aren't we?" asked an annoyed Ryusei.
Genta chuckled. "But this really doesn't look that good for us, does it?"
"I get first crack at the Devil King," said a boy with long blonde hair and intimidating blue eyes. Toshiro remembered seeing his face from Kyoka…Jushiro.
"Before that," said a girl with long teal colored hair and gray eyes walked forward, holding a hand up to halt their advances. "I got this."
"Is she always so cocky?" asked Toshiro.
"Yes." the four of them said in unison.
The girl, Houki, walked forward and faced the army with a smile. "Serafall Leviathan, Devil King of the Underworld I presume. I am Kirihana Houki, ambassador of Ozora Toshiro and an S-Class exorcist of the Church."
"Was," said Serafall. "Was an S-Class exorcist. There's no negotiation here Kirihana Houki. You're all coming with us."
"There are approximately 500 Devils surrounding this compound, 95% if which are Reincarnated Devils with no Sacred Gears and subpar magic affinities, all of which Kyoka-Chan can cast a simple omnidirectional spell to take them out and the rest of which Genta can kill in less than five seconds," said Houki. "That leaves less than ten of you that we really have to worry about, one of which is a Devil King and the other is Sirzechs Lucifer's kid sister with a short temper. Now you can blow us away with a swipe of your hand but doing so would mean killing us and blowing up half of Japan. Now I'm quite certain you'd rather keep us alive seeing as I know you're as curious about all of this as we are, so you either let us talk or we are gonna give you a fight that you will all remember for the rest of your lives as the fight you almost lost to six humans."
Toshiro got chills down his spine. "She's completely out of her mind."
"Yeah but she's right," said Kyoka. "They have numbers but that's about all they have right now."
Jushiro bumped his fists together. "Finally…"
"You stay!" Houki barked.
"Like I said," said Serafall. "These aren't negotiations."
In the blink of an eye, Ryusei shot an arrow directly at Serafall's feet.
"We're not afraid to die for each other," said Ryusei. "But let the record show, we tried to reason with you."
The sound of wings flapping brought a familiar face, standing in between them and the army of Devils. Dulio stood still, eating his chips and slowly realizing the situation he was in.
"Oh…This seems important," said Dulio. "Should I-"
"What are you doing here, Angel?" asked Serafall.
"Under the order of the Archangels and more specifically Lord Micheal," said Dulio. "The Paladin and his Generals are under our divine protection."
"What!" cried Serafall. "You have got to be kidding me! Why are you protecting them! They tried to-"
"It seems you've all been duped," said Dulio. "But of course you can continue with this little skirmish. I'll just have to tell Lord Micheal that the Devils broke our truce treaty."
"You little…" Serafall began to blush. "WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE THINGS SO COMPLICATED DULIO!"
"I'm just doing my job," said Dulio with a smile. "For the time being, Heaven has taken them under our protection. Which means you cannot detain them anymore."
"Make sure you know what you're doing Dulio," said Serafall. "To the rest of the world, Heaven just sided with a bunch of rogue fugitives."
Dulio smiled. "Don't worry about us, we know exactly what we're doing."
"I'll remember this," said Serafall.
Toshiro watched as the armies of Devils began to disappear. From the crowd, he could see Issei and Asia giving him a look of relief. They were just kids, Toshiro was glad nothing drastic happened. But at the same time, more questions began to arise.
Dulio finally broke down with a big sigh. "That…was scary!"
"Did Heaven really-" Genta was cut off.
"Of course not!" cried Dulio. "You think we would actually do that? Lord Micheal's nice and all, but divine protection is just asking for too much right now."
"So you just lied to the face of a Devil King," said Houki. "Great going Dulio."
"I think the words you're looking for are you're welcome," said Dulio. "At least for now there won't be any fighting, and it'll give you guys more time to actually figure things out."
"So you know then," said Houki.
"We figured it out the moment that the Boosted Gear came into play," said Dulio. "The Boosted Gear, Divine Dividing, Divine Sunderer, and Abyssal Madness. The four Sacred Gears holding the Four Heavenly Dragons have all been awakened, the first seal has broken."
Toshiro tilted his head in confusion. "I'm sorry, what? What seals?"
"It's a long story," said Houki. "But first things first, we need to find a way to recover your memories."
A light bulb flickered in Toshiro's head. "A woman!"
Kyoka narrowed her eyes. "Come again?"
Toshiro looked to Kyoka. "Trishula said that a woman stole my memories. A blonde woman with blue eyes…he said that she was with the Mage's Association."
Toshiro felt like he had just set off a landmine.
"That…complicates things," said Genta. "Really complicates things."
"Who are the Mage's Association?" asked Toshiro.
"They're an elite group of mages who govern the magical world," said Houki. "They control and manage every mage in the world, Sacred Gear users included, as long as they're not aligned with any faction. And they're also…" Houki looked to Kyoka.
"They're also the people who raised me," said Kyoka.
