START ACT 3 - SCENE SET 4

INT. HOTCH'S APARTMENT - SCENE 4.1

START SCENE

Hotch, Rossi, and Morgan were sitting around Hotch's dining table, photos and notes spread around. Rossi had just arrived, bringing coffee for the small team.

Rossi: Ok. We know Emily was CIA. We know she has a connection to Interpol. We know she's incredibly skilled at profiling and has a deep understanding of terrorists. What does that tell us?

Morgan: All it tells us is she had a job with a government agency. That's not a crime!

Hotch sighed.

Hotch: I know. Don't worry I'm not going to… this isn't about punishing Prentiss- I realize that was… unnecessary. This is about helping her. She's been off her game emotionally for weeks now. I thought maybe it was about whatever happened between you two.

He cast a glance at Morgan, who rolled his eyes.

Hotch: But I think her recklessly sleeping with a colleague

Morgan scoffed.

Hotch, continuing: is a symptom of a greater stressor. And now-

Rossi: And now she's got a stalker.

Hotch: Exactly. We need to figure out who this guy is.

Morgan: Then why don't we just ask her? She already figured out that we were looking into her.

He shot a look at Rossi, who shrugged, somewhat embarrassed he'd let his phone call with Hotch be overheard so easily.

Morgan: She has to realize we know she's ex-CIA. Hotch, for all we know, she saw you two last night!

Hotch: We could, but I have a feeling if this stalker wasn't related to her CIA work, she would have come to us already. You're right, she probably saw us, she's too skilled not to have.

Rossi: Which means she saw him, too.

Morgan, realizing what Hotch was getting at: She's a patriot. If this has anything to do with something classified, she'll never tell us.

He shook his head.

Morgan: Even if it costs her her life.

Hotch nodded.

Hotch: We need to figure this out on our own, to save her.

Morgan pondered something for a moment.

Morgan: Hey, Rossi… didn't Gideon do some profiling for the CIA back in the day-Hotch remember that case-

Hotch nodded.

Hotch: Yeah, I remember.

Morgan: You think we can give him a call?

Hotch: I don't know… you know, Gideon was pretty wary of her when she first joined the team. So was I, to be honest. But maybe he knew something we didn't. Rossi, can you make the call?

Rossi: I can try.

Hotch nodded.

INT. EMILY'S APARTMENT - SCENE 4.2

START SCENE

Emily peered out her window, looking to spot Ian's car. It was gone. She didn't know where he would've gone, but she preferred not to think about it.

She let out a long held breath and sunk back into her armchair, running a hand through silky black hair. She still had the necklace in her other hand, turning the ring over and over, running her thumb over it. She thought about Declan tugging at it, trying to get her attention and for the first time in days, Emily smiled.

INT. AN ROOM IN A CLASSIFIED AMERICAN OPERATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST - SCENE 4.3

START SCENE

JJ stared out the window, thinking about the fight she'd had with Will before coming here.

FLASHBACK - INT. JJ AND WILL'S BEDROOM - SCENE 4.4

START SCENE

Will: So that's it? You're leaving now, won't even tell me why?

JJ, angrily and hastily shoving clothes into a suitcase: Well, you think I'm never home anyways, so what difference does it make?

Will: I didn't mean leave me!

JJ sighed and put down the blouse she was folding.

JJ: I'm not leaving you. I'm going overseas on assignment.

Will: Feels like you're leaving me.

JJ: I'm sorry. It's a good job- important.

Will: But you can't tell me a damn thing about it!

JJ: Will, you understand! You have to understand. I would if I could!

Will scoffed and walked out of their bedroom, clearly frustrated.

EXT. Morgan's Apartment - SCENE 4.5

START SCENE

Derek opened the door to his place, feeling defeated from their failed call - Gideon hadn't even bothered to set up a voicemail so their call was a deadend when he didn't answer. Wait a minute. Something about his place felt off.

Pulling out his gun, he stalked slowly through the rooms of his home, making sure no one was there. When he was satisfied no one was there, he relaxed just a bit. Something still unsettled him.

That's when he noticed his picture wall above the fireplace. The picture of the team he had was shattered, two bullet holes in it. Someone had definitely been there.

He immediately drew out his phone.

Morgan: Hotch. I need you and Rossi at my place right now. Somebody was here, with a gun.

EXT. NATIONAL MALL - REFLECTING POOL - SCENE 4.6

START SCENE

Clyde walked the length of the pool once, then twice, and then a third before Tsia Mosley arrived. He spotted her, and placed a burner phone under a copy of today's newspaper with the photos he'd received tucked between the folds. He walked away, going to sit on a bench on the opposite side, facing away. Eventually, Tsia reached the bench and the plant. Tsia dialed the number preprogrammed into it.

Tsia: Clyde, what the hell are these photos?

Clyde: What do you think? They were delivered to my hotel room, under my alias. Doyle's telling us he knows who we all are, where we are.

Tsia: At Least we know she's still alive from these photos. She hasn't been returning my calls, I was beginning to worry.

Clyde: She's been dodging me as well. Tsia, do you think-

Tsia: Don't you dare ask what I think you're going to ask.

Clyde: There is a possibility she's…

Tsia: She's not working with him! I know things got… complicated, but first and foremost, Emily Prentiss is a patriot. Working with him would be treason. She would never do that, even if… her emotions were more than… more than an act.

Clyde: We should have never sent her on this operation.

Tsia: We? You mean you.

Clyde: Same difference.

Clyde quickly changed the subject, obviously not interested in dealing with his role in this.

Clyde: How's Jeremy?

Tsia: We're engaged.

Clyde: Congratulations. Where is he?

Tsia: He's still back in France, he thought it was best if we left separately.

Clyde: Weird.

Clyde had never really trusted Jeremy fully. Something was always just one degree off center about the guy. Nothing overt, but something.

Tsia: It's not.

Clyde shrugged.

Clyde: Let me know if you know when he gets here. Sean's back too, but he's been busy.

Tsia: With what?

Clyde: CIA wanted a full debrief to review Doyle as soon as we got word he got out.

Tsia: Wouldn't they want Emily for that?

Clyde: They would, but she can't. Her team would notice her taking a day off to drop by Langley.

Tsia: True. Should we bring her in? Doyle will kill her.

Clyde: Not yet. Emily can hold her own, but Doyle will keep after her. If she goes away, so does he.

Tsia: So you want to use Emily as bait?

Clyde: I would prefer not, but… she's our best lead. I just wish she would answer the damn phone so we could tell her.

Tsia: You think she doesn't know?

Clyde: I don't know. But she needs too.

Tsia agreed.

Tsia: We've been here too long. We should go. Dump this phone.

Clyde: Yeah, I'm not new at this.

Tsia chuckled.

Tsia: See you, whenever I guess. I'm going to stop at our friend on 9th street, grab some insurance.

Clyde: Good idea. Stay safe

INT. CIA SCIF ROOM - SCENE 4.7

START SCENE

Sean: Doyle was in Kwan Li So, political prison in North Korea.

CIA Official: Reports say Russia.

Sean: That was in case of a leak. Every agency involved was told a different location for his imprisonment so if we lost him, we'd know who turned. Americans were told it was Russia.

CIA Official: So who ever had North Korea was the mole.

Sean nodded.

Sean: Germany. Which means BND Agent Jeremy Wolff is working for Doyle.

CIA Official: So we're bringing this guy in.

Sean, nodding: He's in France. Interpol has a covert team bringing him in.

CIA Official: When is it happening? I need to brief the NSC.

Sean looked at his watch.

Sean: Now.

INT. HALLWAY OF SKETCHY APARTMENT BUILDING - SCENE 4.8

START SCENE

Tsia knocked on the door, putting her eye right up to the peephole. Then, a gunshot. Then, blood.

The door opened. Ian stepped over Tsia's body, pleased with his kill. Ian took a moment to look at her. He wondered- would she cry when she found her friend's body?
