START ACT 5 - SCENE SET 6

INT. EMILY'S APARTMENT - SCENE 6.1

START SCENE

Emily pulled out her phone to text Clyde.

THE MESSAGE READS:

Ian got Tsia. DOA.

Emily knew it was harsh to tell him like this, but she needed to let him know fast before she left. She knew exactly where Ian was taking this. And it had to end.

Emily couldn't let anyone else get caught in her crosshairs. This was her fight and she would end it herself. Even if it killed her.

She tossed the phone and began to quicken her pace, knowing Derek was waiting for her. She quickly discarded the soiled clothing and changed into a new outfit, kevlar vest underneath her leather jacket. She grabbed her go- bag and replaced the original contents (pastel sweaters and innocuous airport books) with wads of cash from her safe and her personal gun.

She also packed something with a little more heat, Heckler & Koch MP5K she had locked away in a case under her bed. And lastly, she needed to figure out what to do with the necklace. She knew her disappearance would lead her colleagues to search her apartment and she didn't want them to find it, for more than one reason.

Part of it was selfish- her embarrassment of her past, but part of it was strategic - delay them in figuring out the whole story so they couldn't come after her, couldn't stop her from doing what she knew had to be done, even if she was planning on violating a few laws to do it.

But now she had another dilemma. Take it with her or dispose of it? Bringing a relic of their relationship with her wouldn't help her put a bullet through Ian's skull, but getting rid of it might just enrage him enough to put a bullet through hers.

The question battled in her mind but she finally decided to dispose of it. She needed to shake away any lingering confusing feelings. She flushed it down the toilet and closed her eyes as it swireled down.

However, her closed eyes prevented her from seeing that it hadn't quite gone all the way down.

INT. HOTCH'S OFFICE - SCENE 6.2

START SCENE

Now, Hotch had been more thoroughly briefed by this Sean McCallister, but he had decided to not mention the Emily connection to McCallister, waiting to see if he would initiate it himself and explain it to him. McCallister didn't. He decided to clue in Rossi before he had to brief the gaggle of LEOs forming in the bullpen.

Rossi: Emily's stalker is an escaped terrorist?

Hotch: The files Interpol gave Garcia were heavily redacted, but yeah, it seems that way. The Interpol agent didn't even mention her though. This...

Hotch looked down at the file again, careful to get it right.

Hotch: Ian Doyle is also the guy who killed the Fagans and the Consenzas.

Rossi: So how is she connected to him?

Hotch: I couldn't tell and for some reason, Interpol won't say. My guess, she worked on a project to put this guy away. Whatever it is has to be beyond just classified for Emily to not say anything if she knew who was going around murdering families.

Rossi: But then do we think the guy who broke into Morgan's was him then too? That doesn't quite add up.

Hotch tilted his head.

Rossi, turning to look out the window of Hotch's office as Morgan and Emily returned, walking through the doors of the bullpen, sounding sincerely worried, like a father about his daughter: Oh, Emily.

INT. BULLPEN - SCENE 6.3

START SCENE

A large crowd of law enforcement officers - local police officers, FBI, CIA, military, the full works gathered in the bullpen, listening to Hotch.

Hotch, choosing his words to be deliberately vaguer than he would prefer, but due to the nature of the case and the wide array of people receiving this brief, he had to be vague, considering his security clearance wasn't even high enough to get the full story, local DC cops certainly couldn't know everything: Alright. Now that we're sharing information, we were able to confirm that the two families recently murdered are in fact victims of our escaped terrorist, Ian Doyle. The main targets, the fathers along with Byron Delaney, were employees of CWS and were responsible for transporting him to prison. The remaining members of that team have been warned. All of the federal and international agents responsible for tracking him down are now on his list. We're going to find him the same way we find any other offender... By studying his behavior. We'll dissect his every move since he regained his freedom.

The room was so crowded that no one noticed a dark haired woman clad in black and leather slipping out the room, tears pooling in her deep brown eyes as she pushed the glass doors open, readying herself to come face to face with her foe.
