Chapter 15
The Phantasmal Great-Sword – forged using fragments of the shattered Nothung, Sigmund's Sword, by the tribe of the Nibelungs; a sword meant to be wielded by a King. His firm hands grasped the handle of the blade but It was way too much for him to Truly Wield It, after all it was meant to be used by one the middle- and high-north's greatest Hero; the descendant of Odin, the exiled prince of Xanten, The King of the Völsungs, the claimer of das Rheingold, he who passed through the ring of fire and rescued the Valkyrie and, most important of all, the slayer of the Dragon King turned Evil Dragon Fafnir. He was none of that; he was a descendant at best, a faker at worst….…but right now he had no time to keep thinking about that, so he gripped it tightly and lifted….…it was too much for his weakened state. Even if before he could wield it, twirl it around with one hand, now with his broken body all he could do was drag the sword through the ground. He had no right wielding this glory as his own, no right to use that name as if it was his, so had to reach down into his soul and speak to the Hero to ask for his help…no…his permission.
"I know I have no right of asking you this….…I have denied you my entire life but….…even if it's for a bit….…please lend me your strength to save them…"
It was a wish not a command; perhaps it was the first wish he had ever done in his life. A wish to save people…that was something that the Kind-Hearted Hero could never refuse. Dragon Blood started flowing through his veins once again; strengthening his muscles, reinforcing his bones, hardening his skin — but this time he would not be overtaken by it, the Hero's Soul would tamper the Curse's destructive nature and turn it into an Armor, it was far from the perfected Invincible Power the Hero had acquired in life, but like castle's walls it would protect Katsuo and those who stood behind him. The Scar that Freed Sellzen had given him had become his Sigil, shining the color of polar lights as magic coursed through his being. With renewed strength on his body, he lifted the blade and placed it on his back…but before going…he reached down once again, deep into his soul and spoke with the other side of him.
"….…I'm sorry….…and thank you, for keeping me alive all these years….…"
At first there were two-hundred, but as the Star of God decaled his arrival, their numbers increased until the Moon and Stars were obscured by their black wing. A perpetual Darkness had been casted on Kuoh Town, its inhabitants placed into a deep slumber by the Rias' and Sona's spell. It was the only way to keep a battle of this caliber a secret…it was a gamble they would take…the inhabitants of Kuoh would wake to another normal day of their lives if they succeeded…or not wake up at all if they failed. They watched as the collective fallen angels descended on them.
Worry clear on the defenders' faces even the more stoic of them couldn't help but feel conflicted. They were fifteen after all, six Devils of Gremory, eight Devils of Sitri, and one Saint from the Church, yet they faced a legion of fallen angels led by one Cadre. On paper the battle was already lost…but they would not break, they were resolved to either emerge victorious or die trying.
Both Rias and Sona sent a serious look to the Maid of Orleans, and in turn she nodded in understanding. They had previously strategized for this battle; all present knew the role they had to play and Jeanne's was the one who had to make the first move in the chessboard.
In times of a great need, where the world of man as a whole was threatened, selected humans through their unyielding faith and purity of being could unknowingly reach into the God's System and receive a blessing to accomplish the task at hand. The boons they obtained could be anything from Clairvoyance, Healing, Magical Power, Divine Luck or simply a temporary boost in their existing abilities. Some of these blessings would be engraved into their souls so that they, and anyone worthy enough to inherit them, could become a Guardian of Humanity if someone threatened to destroy it; they became the counter measures against a great collapse. Their status as a medium for God's System would be interpreted as miracles and they as their workers. In time the Church would recognize these individuals simply with one word — Saints.
Jeanne had promised both Rias and Sona a miracle, so she would show them one. Calling forth her status as a Saint a pure white aura surrounded her. She knelt down, clasping her hands together and prayed.
"O Lord, I pray to you to give me strength to protect this Town….…O Maid of Orleans, please grant me a fraction of your wisdom to lead them into battle….….…Blade Blacksmith — Balance Breaker!"
Blooming from the ground like flowers thousands upon thousands of Holy Swords sprouted, each interlocking with each other forming armored plates, and from blades they formed now standing tall — An army of Holy Knights to match the numbers of the Fallen Ones. An ability present to those who possessed the Sacred Gear [Blade Blacksmith] to call upon a Supreme Knight Army. It was with this same ability that the Maid of Orleans clad herself in her silver armor. Normally Jeanne would be restricted to creating a maximum of ten maybe fifteen Armors a day but now, empowered by the God's System while facing a threat to the world, her army would always be as powerful as her enemy's and would remain unbroken as long as her belief in her Lord never wavers.
She summoned her rapier and stood valiantly at the frontline with the Mass of Knights behind her.
"The Lord protects us and my faith will never break — [Blade Knight Mass]!"
The Devils couldn't be anything but be flabbergasted as the once empty Kuoh Academy, where only they and the Saint resided, was quickly filled to the brim with mass produced Holy Knights. The Devil Kings wouldn't be outdone by the Maid of Orleans, their pride wouldn't let them, and so it was time for their move. It was already midnight and as such their power was at their peak, even Low-class Devils could be confused for Middle-class under the effects of Witching Hour. They knew that Kokabiel would be arrogant enough to attack only when they had reach their most powerful, so they would take that to their advantage. Reya Kusaka, Momo Hanakai, Akeno Himejima, Sona Sitri and Rias Gremory — all of them were the best spell-casters of their respective Peerages, together they had devised a spell that would be able to negate Kokabiel's army main advantage over the Holy Knight Army. The Five of them extended their arms forward and demonic energy suddenly shot out of them like a jet burst.
A Magic circle appeared under the five Devils and soon enough it grew until it encompassed the whole of Kuoh Academy; they kept pouring their demonic power into it, blue and red magical energy crackling like a thunderstorm mixing into a royal purple. The strain of such a powerful spell was clear on their faces, yet they forged on until with a collective shout from their part—
"Imitation! — Underworld's Chains of Sin!"
From the Magic Circle they came forth, binding themselves onto the Fallen Ones' Wings and with their Sins weighing them down, they soon fell once again cursed to thread upon the soil. A Curse Spell fashioned after the infamous chains of the underworld; used to restrain the wickedest of Fallen Angels and Stray Devils — though they were not the real thing; under the current circumstances, casted by five devils at the peak of their power and each being an expert in spell-casting in their own right, they would act as such. As long as there was someone powering the spell, the sins of the Fallen Angels would reflect upon themselves and their wings would remain bonded together.
"Amusing" said the Star of God.
The chains wrapped around Kokabiel's wings, but with a quick spread of them the shackles were broken. As powerful as the spell of those Five Devils was, it still wasn't enough to restrain a Cadre. However Kokabiel's army consisted mainly of two- to four-wings Fallen Angels, and as such they found their wings restrained and their ability to fly sealed away.
Reya Kusaka was an expert in magic, not just Devil Magic, but various Systems as a whole. Her grandmother being a Witch, she learned under her tutelage everything from Witchcraft, Nordic Runes to even Egyptians Rituals — calling her library of Magic Spells would be an understatement, after all it was the main reason why Sona sought her out. While Momo Hanakai could be considered an expert spell-crafter, having been affiliated with the Sitri Clan since childhood, she was well versed in the inner workings of Demonic Power almost as much as Sona herself. However neither of them were fighters, it was a fact they were comfortable admitting — So after the spell was complete only they stayed behind the lines, atop Kuoh Academy, to keep powering the Chains of The Underworld.
"The Spell is complete Kaichou!" said Reya.
"As long as we remain to power the spell, our enemies will not escape" Momo reaffirmed.
Sona Sitri looked pleased, pride clear on her eyes as she adjusted her glasses, before addressing both girls.
"Thank you, my Bishops….…Rias"
"I understand….…Kokabiel! State your business in our territory!"
From above the Fallen Angels of stars smiled wickedly; with a snap of his fingers a throne materialized behind him, sitting on it before mockingly responding to the two so-called Devil Kings.
"So you are Sirzechs' and Serafall's little sisters…quite a show you just put, certainly entertaining — tell, will any of the great Satans of the Underworld be coming tonight"
The Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess stepped forward, unshaken by the Cadre's oppressive magical aura and cruel expression.
"If you choose to fight…We will be your opponents!"
Kokabiel's expression dropped a bit at fist…
"That is a shame…but perhaps it won't be as dull as I thought. A pack of Devils and a Reborn Saint, besides we might get an unexpected visit tonight….…Perhaps this will be a fitting beginning for the End War after all!"
…but later regained his cruel demeanor and bloodlust.
"You wish to restart the Three Faction War and bring an end to the world of Mankind, you were once created by the Lord to safeguard this Realm….…even as a fallen angel, I have to ask. Why would wish to see it destroyed, do you hate humans so much" said Jeanne, her kind soul willing to understand the reason behind such cruel goals.
"Ah! The Maid of Orleans, La Pucelle, it's been a while since I have seen that face. You truly are her spitting Image. I can barely tell the difference, your two souls are so synchronized they might as well be one — even that same farm-girl naiveté remains. I care about humans as much as you care for the ants you step on every time you cross the street. Whether they live or die is of no interest to me, but I wish to see their world in flames; transformed into a World of constant battlefield where the strong thrive! A place for all Warriors to find purpose and not be chained down by whims of weak-willed men like Azazel, Michael and Sirzechs!"
Silence — none dared utter a word, all trying to understand the disturbing goal of the Star of God. To cause an uncountable amounts of death and destruction, with suffering on every side of war…only to find purpose in battle…it was deranged, distorted, only a person so wrapped by battle could find reason in such an abhorrent dream. Only someone so sick as Kokabiel could find joy in all the killing they cause…and feel so alive while doing so.
"…We are way pass beyond the point of dialogue" said Sona, breaking the silence.
Rias nodded, her expression becoming as hard as steel before speaking.
"I agree — you have overstepped your boundaries crow! As the rulers of this land, it is our duty to eliminate you in the names of the Duke of Gremory and the Prince of Sitri"
Jeanne pointed her sword defiantly at the Star of God.
"Then for the grace and might of our Lord above, I will fight for as long as I draw breath; until the World of Humanity is secured! — Onward!"
At her command the Supreme Holy Knight Army charged forward, Jeanne leading the assault, and with a resounding sound of holy steel meeting light spears Kuoh Academy became a battlefield. Fallen Angels attacked with ferocity against the Armored Shells. Destroyed and molted Knight's Armors with no one inside quickly reformed, putting their pieces back together for the faith of their leader remained unbroken and so would they. The Devils of Gremory and Sitri soon followed the Maid of Orleans; thunder cracked and destruction flared as from above as Akeno and Rias bombarded the fallen angels, Water Serpents were conjured to the battlefield showing the power of Sitri, Demonic Swords emerged from the ground skewering any unlucky crow and the auras of both Red and Black Dragons was unleashed. Among the destruction and chaos the Fallen Angel of Stars could only laugh in joy
"HAHAHAHAHA — Yes! Show me WAR! Entertain me while this world is plunged into flames!"
The Battle for Kuoh Academy had officially started.
"Promotion Queen!"
Issei ducked under another light spear and responded with an armored punch to the gut, followed instantly by a kick to the face. The Fallen angel on the receiving end fell to the ground in pain, only for one of the Holy Knights to pierce it with its sword, the fallen one banished into a cloud of black feathers. As for Issei, he was left panting.
"Man….…I seriously hate those crows!"
He was about to move again, until—
"Look out!" a female's voice called out.
Someone grabbed his blazer and forcibly yanked him out of the way. A light spear then impacted the spot he once stood, followed by a Fallen Angel rushing behind; bloodlust clear on his face and another weapon of light in hand.
"You better keep moving Hotshot; otherwise you will end up skewered by one of those spears"
The person who saved him was none other than Tsubasa Yura — the tomboyish Rook of Sona Sitri. Her arms glowed blue, demonic energy reinforcing them and calling forth the defensive power of her Rook piece. She ducked under the incoming spear, getting in close of her opponent, grabbing the fallen one and using his momentum as an advantage — in a swift motion of technique and strength; Tsubasa performed a Sasae-tsurikomi-ashi, slamming the fallen angel into the ground! Breaking it and every bone in her opponent's body in the process!
"Huh?…thanks…" Issei got up but instantly his instinct flared up – from behind her savior another fallen angel was closing up at her exposed back "Hey! Watch it!"
[Boost!]
His body moved forward on instinct and, with a powerful jump, extended his left arm interlocking it with the Fallen Angel's neck. And with boosted strength he performed an amateurish but efficient Lariat — pinning the attacker and him into the dirty ground. The Fallen angel was left flabbergasted, enough time for a Knight-Armor to deliver the killing stab.
Issei got up, muddy and dirtied, and gave Tsubasa a thumps up and a smirk.
"Guess we are even now"
An amused huff escaped her lips, before she reciprocated his smirk. Extending her hand and pulling him up soon afterwards.
"Careful there Hotshot; I still have more dirty crows on me than you"
A crazy Idea suddenly passed through Issei's head.
"Wanna bet who beats more" he said.
"You are on"
They proceeded to get into fighting position, leaning back to back, and between Tsubasa's perfect Judo and Issei's improvisational moves every enemy who approached them was pile-driven six-feet into the ground.
Absorption Line warped itself around a Fallen Angel's leg and with all his might the Pawn of Sitri spun the Fallen One around like a ragdoll; later releasing and throwing him sky high. A heavy breath escaped the Pawn's mouth, but before he could pick up his pace a flash of light whizzed past him and pain instantly filled his mind.
"Damn it!" Saji exclaimed while clutching his shoulder.
The Bishop of Gremory saw this and instantly approached her wounded comrade.
"Don't worry Saji-san, stay still" Asia said, while quickly using Twilight Healing on the Pawn's Shoulder
"Thanks Asia — Quick! Get behind me!
"Huh?"
A Fallen angel quickly closed the distance on them, jumping with a spear facing downwards. With Asia unaware of its presence and with Saji wounded, there was no way for them to dodge the Incoming strike. The Pawn of Sitri tried to use his body to protect the Ex-nun and as the strike was about to hit—
Slice!
Tempered steel, reinforced with a blue demonic power, cut straight from lower body to collar bone. In a display of technique and swiftness the wielder of the Japanese Blade hit the ground gracefully and, after sheathing her sword, the fallen angel's life was ended; its lifeless body hitting the ground.
"Don't worry Asia-chan; keeping you safe is our task…"
The person who spoke was the cheerul Knight of Sitri, Tomoe Meguri, a prodigy with the sword in the unique Meguri-Clan martial arts. Her sword clashed with another light spear and with stylish grace her blade danced in-between strikes; her craft was refined, elegant, fluid like a dance and wasted no energy – against her opponent, it was no contest who was the better swordsman. Until with a single strike—
Slice!
Another enemy fell down…
From her left side she saw fallen angel closing in on them, her hand instinctively grasped the handle of her Katana, her body got in position, and her breathing steadied. As the Fallen One approached them—
"Promotion Queen!"
A bolt of blue skipped around the battlefield and impacted the Fallen Angel on its face kick first. The Knight of Sitri expected that and, with a quick flash of her blade, sliced her opponent in half. The one who delivered the kick was the second Pawn of Sitri, Ruruko Nimura. She cheerfully addressed Asia, completing the sentence of her comrade.
"…so in turn, please keep us safe okay Asia"
Now filled with resolve Twilight Healing shined again and Saji's wounds began closing themselves.
"I-I'll do my best!"
With satisfied smiles on their faces, Ruruko and Tomoe became the vanguard that would safeguard Asia Argento; none passing through the Knight's skillful swordsmanship or the Pawn's powerful kicks
"Pin them down [Sword Birth]!"
At his command multiple Demonic Swords emerged from the ground, snaring any fallen angel unlucky enough to be in the vicinity. Wasting no time the supreme Holy Knight army attacked; their holy swords transforming the fallen ones into black feathers. But the Knight of Gremory wouldn't be outdone by mere animated armors, charging into battle with twin-demonic swords in hand; Kiba's strikes were fast and fluid snapping at his opponents like twin snakes. However his back became exposed and as a crow was about to seize the opportunity—
Smash!
The small Rook of Gremory sent it flying across the battlefield.
"…don't worry Yuuto-senpai, I got your back" she said in her usual emotionless tone.
"Thanks Koneko, I really am nothing without any of you guys"
She simply nodded with a small, barely noticeable, satisfied smile on her lips. Watching his back, Koneko delivered punch after punch, kick after kick, using her Rook strength to break anyone who tried to sneak up on his Senpai's back.
Suddenly the Fallen Angels on the vicinity started spreading out and from above the few Fallen Ones whose wings weren't bound readied their spear, soon a rain of light showered the Devils. Instinctively they got their own devil wings out, ready to take flight…but they knew it was already too late…the area of attack was too large and even if they managed to avoid the impact zone, their detonation would surely get them.
"Reflect [Mirror Alice]!"
With the sound of glass breaking, the Spears got reflected and soon an explosion of light filled the sky — consuming the Fallen Angels on the receiving end. Kiba and Koneko gazed upon their savior; long black hair, Heterochromic eyes, wielding a Naginata, the queen of Sona Sitri — Tsubaki Shinra.
"Are you two okay?"
"…yes, thank you Shinra-senpai…" Koneko answered.
"Shinra-senpai sure is reliable" Kiba added, with a relieved sigh escaping his mouth.
Tsubaki adjusted her glasses and brandished her Naginata before speaking in her usual serious and calm demeanor.
"Of course — it's my duty as Vice-president to assist those in need of help"
And so the Devils of Gremory and Sitri fought as a team. Against the hordes of Fallen Angels and with the support of the Holy Knight Army, they made their way past their enemies straight to where the Maid of Orleans, the Priestess of Thunder, the Heiress of the Sitri Clan and the Princess of Destruction faced the wrath of the Star of God.
The Original Jeanne d'Arc had never used her sword in combat, however the girl that came to inherit her soul had no choice but to learn how to use one; it was a requirement that all enforcers of the church had to meet. She disliked killing yet she understood the necessity of battle to achieve peace, so the girl who would be given the title 'Maid of Orleans' chose a way of combat that would reflect the Original Saint's life. It was unlike the feel one would get from the other Church's Enforcers; there was no boldness and the direct approach of Xenovia Quarta, or the hare-like movements and pirouettes of Irina Shidou, it lacked the draconian strength and fortress-like stance of Katsuo Hirai, and there was not a hint of Freed Sellzen's ferocity and bloodlust. Some fighters of the church considered her style downright passive, but it was so like her. Simple, humble, restraint and defense oriented lacking any sort of aggression — Clarity — there was no other way to describe her fighting style.
Now faced with the barrage of light spears from Kokabiel, she understood why the Vatican had selected her above all others to deal with this threat. Any other swordsman would have been long impaled facing such bombardment yet her arm moved, not fast but fast enough, and met all the spears with her rapier. Jeanne knew every angle, every direction and at which speed every individual light spear would come at her, her limited Clairvoyance granted her such information and her body would move guided by it. It didn't matter how many spears the Star of God conjured against her, all were blocked or reflected by her blade.
The rain of light continued and she summoned a multitude of holy swords, sprouting from the ground like lily petals yet sharp as steel. Kokabiel avoided them taking to the air. Jeanne jumped in pursuit; a rain of light was her greeting…blocking that would be difficult, but not impossible. Her rapier moved once again deflecting and blocking ten spears a second, fifteen spears a second, twenty spears a second and thirty spears a second until her feet touched the ground once again.
A heavy breath escaped her mouth yet she remained calm.
"Bravo Saint, truly befitting of a Holy Maiden like you. I have never seen such passive and defensive swordplay since I fought my brother Michael…was he perhaps your teacher or the inspiration behind your style" Kokabiel said mockingly.
The Maid of Orleans got no time to answer as destruction flared and the sky rumbled.
"Don't forget about us Crow!"
A water serpent coiled itself around Kokabiel, bringing him from the sky above to the earth blow. Holy Swords emerged from the ground, encased him in Lily petals. A miasma of red and black demonic power shot from the sky and thunder followed after, impacting the Cadre and then—
BOOOM!
The ground was torn asunder; a large crater and smoke were left as the aftermath. And from the smoke emerged the Star of God, a small scratch on his cheek, dusting his black clothes mockingly with a sadistic grin on his face.
By this time both the Peerages of Sitri and Gremory had reunited with their masters, leaving Kokabiel's broken followers to fend against the overwhelming Holy Knight Army.
"I must applaud your collective efforts; you've kept me entertained for longer than I thought….…However I must say that the battle at large is boring me. La Pucelle, your knight army is enough to fight my followers and I'm sure those little Devils must surely have grown bored as well after fighting the same type of enemy for so long…So why don't we give them something else to entertain themselves!"
"What do you mean-" the Holy Maiden couldn't complete her sentence.
Kokabiel's fingers joined and—SNAP!
The whole battlefield quaked, as if the whole world was breaking apart. Fissures tearing the ground asunder and manga, blizzard and thunder poured out, as if the planet itself was bleeding. A beastly howl echoed through the night and the rattling of chains could be heard. And from the depths of the underworld three Guardians of the Hell's Gates emerged; with black fur, large fangs and three heads each with yellow eyes. There was not one but three — one clad in red fire, one clad in blue ice and one clad in purple lightning.
The Pure-Blooded Devils instantly recognized them and their eyes went wide.
"We are the Guardians of the Gates of Hell, the Beasts that keep the damned from leaving their cages.
Our Chains have been broken and we seek to corrupt the mortal Realm.
We are the sons of King Kerberos, the One Who Spots.
WE ARE THE CERBERUS TRIBE!"
The Dogs of Hell rabidly lashed out the chains that bounded them now broken; whipping around the battlefield hitting all friend and foe alike. The Devils immediately scattered; joining in with their respective teams, not wanting to be found in between of the fire, ice and lightning the Hellhounds commanded. However one was not so lucky; being hit by one of the broken shackles of the Fire Cerberus Rias found herself falling to the ground, like a swatted fly.
"Buchou!" shouted Issei ready to lunge at her rescue.
However someone already beat him to it, securing the Heiress of Gremory mid fall and reuniting her with her team. Looking at her savior she noticed there was a bit of shame laced in his steel-colored eyes. Despite Rias having already forgiven him, it was clear that he had not forgiven himself. Kiba put her down near Akeno, Issei, Asia and Koneko and proceeded to give them a sad smile.
"Yuuto?" Rias called out to her Knight.
Kiba reached into his pocket and pulled the blue crystal, giving it a sad and longing smile, before stepping forward and facing the fiery three-headed Hellhound with resolution on his face. The crystal started shining at first with a small glimmer. The Knight of Gremory had thought about this long and hard…and now it was time to show his resolve. With his back facing them he addressed his friends.
"Buchou…I'm sorry…you saved my life and I….…I just repaid you betrayal, I have been a terrible Knight and an even worse friend…My rage has bound me to the past, seeking something that is not there anymore…blinding me to the future...But I will do so no longer!"
The Crystal shined brighter than before, enveloping him into a white aura that extended to the skies, and soon it dissolved into stardust freeing those trapped inside it. All of the souls once tortured and forced into the object were now freed, finally allowed to ascend to the Heaven above. Yuuto saw their faces once again, this time not in a nightmare, but in an ephemeral dream, this time they were not bloodied but at pace. The spirits of his late comrades surrounded him, hugged him, showed not the hate and resentment that he expected but love and care — it made tears stream down his face.
"Don't cry and don't blame yourself, we always loved you.
Alone we might be weak, but we are together now.
We are one together and We were always one with you.
We will forever be there for one another, just like you will always be for them.
We have accepted the Holy Sword, We aren't afraid anymore.
As long as you exist, we will never be forgotten
So please, forgive yourself and Live..."
Kiba nodded and wiped his tears away, eyes filling with determination — now he had no regrets, this is the path he had chosen. Lifting his right hand up, black demonic power merged with the pillar of white light. The image of a Sword in his mind, he had to will into existence.
"I am a Devil, Knight of Rias Gremory. I will follow the path of the Sword and become one, not for rage and vengeance, one to protect her and my comrades….…This sword is the unfulfilled hopes and dreams of the past; this sword is the will and promises of the future — this sword is my very being — Balance Breaker!"
Light and Dark compressed into one another, spinning into complete harmony. A Blade was forged, coming from within his mind using his soul as a mold, a sword that was the crystallization of Yuuto Kiba as a person. It was a contradiction in itself just like him; Holy and Demonic in nature but coexisting in complete balance, not one trying to overtake or destroy the other.
The scene gave the Maid of Orleans pause; she was moved by the beauty of the scene….…yet couldn't help but feel conflicted.
"Im-Imposible…Holy Light and Demonic Power mixing should be unfeasible….…that power is…Blade Blacksmith?" she said, while praying for the freed souls.
The Fire Cerberus charged at Rias and her Peerage in its animalistic rage and Kiba's body instantly moved. Empowered by the blade in his hands his body broke the sound-barrier, slashing at impossible speeds at the fiery Hellhound. And with the power of Holy Light and Demonic Dark gathering in his sword—
SLASH!
A Head of the Fiery Beast fell lifeless into the ground.
"This Sword is Yuuto Kiba and Yuuto Kiba is this Sword….…if I had to give it a name I'll call it [Sword of the Betrayer]!"
The Fire Cerberus charged once again, angered at the lost of one of its heads. And The Knight of Gremory readied his Sword once again, calling forth the Holy and Demonic power that dwelled within it. But as the beast was ready to pounce on him, a voice rang out for all to hear.
"…'rage from the past that blinds you to the future'….…I agree with your words…Knight of Gremory"
"Huh, Xenovia?" Issei asked.
The voice spoke again.
"Peter, Basil, Dionysus, and Lastly, The Virgin Mary. Lend thine ears to my humble request — I wield this Blade in the names of the Saints who dwell within it — Durandal!"
From the Sky a blue-haired girl fell into the battlefield with a large sword clutched in her hands, bringing its destructive aura against the fiery Guardian of Hell's Gates. And with the Power of a True Holy Sword she cleaved away another Cerberus Head. The Beast brought down like a wounded animal; where once were three heads only one remained. Xenovia looked at the Devils and the Saint who all had shell-shocked expressions and simply said.
"Reinforcements have arrived…"
A/N: Thanks for the support. I hope all of you stay save and my story can bring some joy to you.
