Red sneakers and a Pink Dress
A Craig of the Creek fanfic by Bakurette
Eliza was once again staring at her cup
Those words echoed on her mind, Her pink pupils fixated on a untouched cookie and some cold tea.
"Watch yourself, You of all people wouldn't want some tea to be spilled...
Someone might wig out..."
She closed her eyes and slammed her fist into the table
Eliza opened her eyes, she was on the usual spot of her coterie; the tea timers, under a willow tree with a long table.
All around the three were chrismas lights and little stars hanging from the willow's branches, moving with the wind
She was wearing her usual attire, A puffy princess like dress, a tiara, but clashing agaist her attire was a pair of red sneakers, most of the time it didn't mattered since her dress was so big and puffy that most of the time it was covered, and no one seemed to care about them as long as her regal personality and appearance keept the under control.
Most adorning of all was her pink hair, a big puffy pink hair that brought everything together.
She looked around the table and growled in anger, she produced a little bell from her dress and ringed it gently.
"George, Oh, George!"
She called. Inmeadiatle a boy with blue comber hair, a perfectly kept blue suit and a small blue painted mole appeared, rushing to Eliza's calling "Did you rang Miss Eliza?" the girl closed her eyes and dismissevly pointed at the table "The wind knocked down my tea, Please clean up the mess"
It was more than just the tea, The whole table was stained with shatted coockies, slammed pastetries and broken appeticers.
Quite an expectacle of stains and messes. George glared at it for a minute
"I am afraid I cannot clean this?"
Elizas eyes meet George's "Mmh? And why not?"
He simply bowed "I do not have the equipment here, but at home I shall be able to clean it properly, it might take a while"
Eliza sighted "How long?" said the girl with a snooty tone of voice, George awnsered "I would have to take the rest of the day" Eliza sighted once again and looked around "This might as well happen" she stood up "Get the cups and the plates as well, I cannot bring more from home"
George tone changed from his usal blutter one "Oh? Why not? I tough your mom did not mind" Eliza raised an eyebrow "Yeah, well, she is starting to ask why she has to buy so many plates all of a sudden and I am running out of excuses" Eliza yawned "Well, I might as well turn in for today"
George tilted his head "A-Already? But it's not even close to lunch time" Eliza shrugged "I need to go, Jane is not here and honestly no one is bitting" ,George forced a smile "Please give it a moment Eliza, I am sure someone has to come"
Eliza rolled her eyes "Please! Everyone knows about our scams thanks to the tree trunk kids and besides..." she pulled a piece of paper from the floor "Who is even going to want to come to an ugliest kid competicion?" Goerge kept his forced smile "B-But we promised free candy, all kids love candy" Eliza grabbed George by the scruff of his shirt and almost slammed the piece of paper into his face "Where does it say in the invitation there is free candy?" George pointed at a little drawing of a bunch of candy crossed out.
The left eye of Eliza was twitching "That could mean anything!" she let go of George "I am going home, send me a text message if Jane arrives or else" George timidly asked "Or else?" Eliza produced a small put very sharp looking axe and slammed it agaist the tree
This made George jump in surprise and sweated cold "Y-Yes Eliza" She slammed the axe once again agaist the tree George whimpered and then repeated "Yes, Miss Eliza!" without saying another word the pink dressed girl left, leaving her axe embeded into the tree as a warning to her servant.
George sighted "At least my house is the closest one". He grabbed was he could from the table and placed it into a small box, he then grabbed the table cloth and smelled it "Ugh...No way I can put this on my washing machine" naivily and somewhat confusidly he looked around "Maybe I can wash it agaist the creek, or maybe I can pay someone to wash it for me..." soon a voice echoed in front of the tree "H-Hello?" George eyes widened.
It wasn't Miss Eliza and it wasn't Jane either, he went to the entrance of the willow tree to see who was there.
A small round headed kid chomping on a piece of candy waited for George to open, the kid looked at George and pulled a piece of paper from his green hoddie, it was one of the invitations that George had made "Is this where the free Candy is?" George blinked in disbelief "Um..M-Maybe? Who are you?" the kid kept chomping on some candy "My name is Bobby, I saw this invitacions by the trading tree, So, can I have my Candy?" George narrowed his eyes "Is someone else with you?" Bobby shook his head no.
"Shame, we can't give you a price if there is no contest" Bobby sighted in dissapoinment and slowly walked away. George tough for a second "However!" He said with his elegant voice back "I can give you some of the most delicious Candies ever if you help me with something!" Bobby moved like a bullet towards George "My, you are hiesty little fellow" Bobby tilted his head "Fellow?" George answered quickly "Never mind that, You just need to clean this table cloth and I will give you a box full of the most delicius candy you can even imagine!"
Bobby gasped in wonderment "The most delicius candy" George poked Bobby with the table cloth "Yes, Yes, The best candy ever. Go fix this thing up or else I won't give you any? Got it? See you tomorrow" Bobby nodded "Ok, Tomorrow!" once again the kid ranned like his little stubby legs were on fire. As she did he was chanting "Candy! Candy!" George stared in disbelief "This might have been a bad idea"
Far away Eliza walked, She sighted
The wind in the trees was bothering her, she couldn't keep her outfit together much longer and she needed to lie at her bead with some ice tea
But that was never at home
No
At home there wasn't much stuff, but there was enough to pretend
She got closer to home, She didn't want to take off the wig but there was no choice, the wind was messing it up to much.
She didn't want to change again. She wished she could just stop and always be Eliza.
Always loved and always admire, a symbol of class and dignity unlike any other before or after on the creek.
But at home she was nothing, At home she wasn't even worth a whisper from her neighbors.
Becuase in fact at home her name was not even Eliza.
At hime she was John. A boy, a brown haired blow with a thin perplexion.
Eliza took off her wig to become John, She sighted loudly and kept walking until she found an empty shack
From the outside it looked like nothing, Inside. It was where John could become Eliza.
Quickly taking off the dress revealing the t-shirt and shorts he whore.
John sighted loudly "I swear this thing get's heavier and heavier each time I wear it"
John eyes widened realising that he was still doing Eliza's voice
His voice was not very masculine so it was easy to do it and keep it for a while.
He gritted his teeth at the tough of one of his brothers discovering him. Or worse, His mom.
John was the middle brother in a family of a single parent and three children.
His mother worked day and night, She was an expert of sewing dresses and other fancy clothes for teather and special events.
She was magnificent at it, but having three children meant she never was home. She rarely was, John did not blamed her as he didn't want to be home as much as possible.
He missed her being around to control her brothers, but all the left over dresses she left in the attic were perfect for him.
But today there wasn't much of a choise, he didn't had a place on the creek either.
He didn't had a place anywhere but this little run down shack that he hided in. A small heaven for him and only him
Where he could be her, Where he could be someone who mattered.
A real princess
In there a skinny boy with red shoes entering a runned down shack, inside it was pink perfect and beautiful.
With ligths all over the place and a broken mirror in from of him.
Slowly he took off the rest of the make up to make sure no one would ever see him as Eliza.
It felt somewhat nice after a while.
He placed the dress on the run down little covert he had for the other dresses
They weren't much, a lavender one, and another pink one that looked like her usual one she used. That one had been ruined from her little run down with the kids from the stump.
Craig , Kelsey and...
What was the name of the tall one? Mortimer?
Yeah! That was it, Those dreaded ruffians Craig, Kelsey and Mortimer.
He finally hid his phone to make sure that the messages from the kids from the Creek send to Eliza would only be seen by Eliza.
It was sort of a mental game, when he was John he stopped looking at the phone.
However he felt like cheating this time and looked at the phone, It was a message from Tomar
Rather a long string of messages from him. John didn't understoon why he liked Tomar so much.
But he did, He took a while to look at them all. A long string on how he had defeated some kids at a card game he had never heard before.
He was boasting that he even defeated one of the elders. Then he went on to list a ton of nicknames
He was going to reply with only an emoji but then he saw one he liked "The Caster Master" he giggled at it.
He quoted the message and said "This one is my favorite" He blushed and took a deep breath.
It was time to go.
Eliza could only be on the Creek.
At home, the only one allowed was John.
