August 10, 1984. The Human World. Day. Sly Cooper was watching TV. He was watching an episode of CHiPs. CHiPs was a TV show about the adventures of two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers: Jon Baker and Frank "Ponch" Poncherello, who cruise around the freeways of Los Angeles; solving crimes and helping people along the way. Sly watched CHiPs. He thought the show was cool. The two cops: Jon Baker and Frank Ponchorello reminded Sly of Carmelita Fox. Carmelita Fox was an Interpol agent that used to chase Sly around all of the time. Now, she has feeling for the raccoon. Sly continued to watch the CHiPs episode until it ended. Then, a news broadcast came on.

"Recent reports indicate that the AIDs virus is raging on, with no signs of stopping." A newswoman said. "Several people all across the country have contracted AIDs."

Sly was shocked when he heard about AIDs. He had no idea what AIDs was. Richard came into the room. He wore a neon orange long sleeved shirt with Lycra pants. He noticed the raccoon's shocked facial expression. Richard walked over to the TV. A wrinkly old man was on the TV. His face was on the camera. The man looked to be about in his mid-sixties. The man was none other than the President of The United States: Ronald Reagan.

Ronald Reagan was the U.S. President during the majority of the 1980s. Before he was the president, he was a movie actor. A very popular actor during the 1950s. In the 1980 U.S. Presidential Election, Ronald Reagan beated Jimmy Carter by a landslide. To say that Ronald Reagan was the greatest U.S. President would be an understatement. He was beyond great. He helped the United States tremendously. Reagan would order the Berlin Wall to be taken down 4 years later in 1988.

"Who's that man that's speaking?" Sly asked Richard.

"You don't know who that man is?!" Richard said incredulously to Sly. "That's Ronald Reagan, The President of the United States."

"Who's Ronald Reagan?" the raccoon asked Richard.

Richard was shocked by the raccoon's question. He couldn't believe that a person who claimed to be from Paris, France didn't know who Ronald Reagan was. Sly had to be on drugs. There was no way in hell that this raccoon from another world would have no knowledge about Ronald Reagan.

"Are you on drugs, Sly?" Richard asked the raccoon.

"No." Sly said. "I don't take drugs."

"You seriously don't know who Ronald Reagan is." Richard said to Sly.

"No, I don't know who Ronald Reagan is." Sly said.

"Ronald Reagan is the President of the United States." Richard said. "Before he was president, Reagan was a famous actor. A very famous actor. He was one well known movie actor in the world. Reagan starred in many movies during the 1940s and 1950s. After that, he went into politics. He became the President of the United States of America."

"Wow." Sly said. "Sounds like this Ronald Reagan guy is a pretty good man."

"You're damn right Reagan is a good man." Richard said.

Sly and Richard watched Ronald Reagan give out a speech. It was about AIDs. AIDs (Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) was a very terrible virus, more terrible than COVID-19. Unlike COVID-19, which affected everybody on the planet Earth, AIDs only affected a specific group of people: homosexual men. AIDs was like a magic trick, in that it makes your immune system disappear. There was no cure for AIDs. Once a person contracted AIDs, they were fucked. There are 3 ways that people got AIDs: having gay sex, sharing needles and blood transfusion.

First, a person has to have HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). If a person doesn't have HIV, he can't contract AIDs. Sly turned to the 12 year old kid.

"What's AIDs?" Sly asked Richard.

"AIDs is a very terrible virus." Richard said to the raccoon. "It only affects homosexual men."

Richard told Sly everything about the AIDs virus. He explained that there was no cure for AIDs. Richard also explained to Sly that AIDs took away a person's immune system like a magic trick. Those statements shocked Sly tremendously. He never knew such a deadly virus could exist. The raccoon fully understand why AIDs was such a big deal.
