Chapter 21: A Greeting And A Farewell

AAAAND WE'RE BAAAAACK.

Yey.

Absol's comin' in!

Also, this marks the last appearance of Kai and Sora...

Also...

4.k words! A new record! Well, actually, I wanted it to be this long to compensate for the wait ^^

"Say what?"

"Can Lucy stay with me?"

Silent words left Rai's mouth. He and his group looked dumb-stuck, sans Zara and Lucy, the former huffing and the latter jumping around at the nearby butterfrees.

"Kid, you can't just take whatever pokemon you want, you know." Zara said. Jess and Rai nodded fervently, humming in agreement. The young child pouted as he crossed his arms.

"But, you said that I could have anything!" Kai whined.

Rai grumbled, averting the child's piercing gaze and looking at the young Riolu, who is playing in her own world as tension flowed through the air.

'Name your wish, Kai. Dammit! Why did I have to be so careless! I can't just hand over one of my own to him, that's impossible!' Rai thought.

Bonnie walked to Rai's side, nudging his shoulder as she looked at his eyes. Jessica was wracked deep in thought, placing her blue hand under her chin as she too, looked at Lucy. Zara glared at Kai, growling lightly at him as he shuffled nervously. All fell silent in the vicinity, apart from Lucy's screams of enjoyment. Everyone stood still, taking the conversation to their minds.

Rai looked at Bonnie as they shared a wordless conversation. They didn't need to speak with their voices to discuss what just happened. Their eyes met, staring at their irises for the answer, which was plastered all over their faces anyway.

'Don't do it Rai... I don't want to lose one of our own.' Bonnie lightly scrunched her faced in distress to signal her reaction to the situation, followed by lightly shaking her head. Rai responded by nodding, facing Kai once more as he gives his answer.

"Kai...I can't-

"-Can totally get you a friend! You don't need Lucy, you can have someone else!" Jessica butted in before Rai could input his own answer. Rai, confused, looked at her strangely.

"But how are you going to do that?"Kai answered, his attention was now directed to the shiny Gardevoir, who seemed to be filled to the brim with an idea in her head. Her face lit up, and a smile plastered itself across her face as she suggested something that Rai could never have thought.

"Kai, we can just adopt a new pokemon for you!" Jessica smiled.

Kai's eyes widened, realising that such an easy solution was made visible to him. His hands scrunched up, his mood brightens as his wish is answered. But it fell all to soon as a roadblock hits his happiness.

"But..how are we going to do that?" He said, tilting his head.

"Simple, we just find a pokemon shelter in this city, and we can set you up with your very own buddy!" Jess replied. Kai jumped in excitement, chanting in victory in his euphoric state. Rai and Bonnie could only look in awe at what Jessica had done, feeling thankful that she saved them out of the pit they created. Zara huffed lightly, preferring better that Kai gets none, rather than have another just because he loses the one who belongs to Rai.

As Kai ran about, hopping with excitement as he moves to his dango cart, Rai jumps to Jessica, wrapping her in a deep hug. Jessica, who was initially surprised at the motion, reciprocated the action.

"Thank Arceus! you saved us!" Rai whispered in her ear, right before kissing her cheek. Jess could only stand and receive her praise, which felt more pleasing as Rai's hug got tighter and tighter, his body encompassing her horn and exerting a huge amount of force upon it, pleasuring her greatly. She mewed in his embrace, rubbing her hands across Rai's back as Zara looked with disgust.

"Blech, too romantic for me." Her snide comment was shot down quickly as Rai glared at her from the corner of his eyes, which gleamed with red fury. She flinched as he did so, but quickly regained her composure, giggling quietly.

"That's better."

Bonnie looked with curiosity, her trainer's actions piqued her interest.

'Looks like she's been the receiver of his affection whilst I was away...I guess I have a lot to catch up on then.' She thought.

Rai relinquished his grip on Jessica, smiling lovingly at her as he went to snatch up Lucy from her daydreaming. She was situated a bit further from the group, due to her chasing the Butterfrees that flew with no sense of direction. Many of the citizens watched, smiling at such childish behavior.

"KID, GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM US, YOU'RE MESSING UP OUR FLIGHT!"

"Fred, let this girl have her fun! She means no harm anyway."

"Hehe, Butterfrees! Butterfrees!" Lucy playfully swatted at the flying pokemon, who were flying askew due to the wind generated from her swaying paws. She jumped happily and toyed with the Butterfrees, completely ignoring their pleas for help as they flutter about.

"I SWEAR, IF YOU KEEP ANNOYING US, I WILL SLEEP POWDER YOU INTO A COMA, KID!" The male Butterfree warned the youngster, but she paid no attention to it, as she couldn't even realise that the squeaks that they made were actually them speaking to her.

Fortunately, the flying duo were about to be saved, as Rai slowly crept up behind Lucy with a devilish grin upon his face. The Butterfree couple couldn't care less whether Rai was actually Lucy's trainer or if it was a poke-napper, as they were soon losing their patience (and by that, it meant that the female was losing her patience) with the Riolu pestering them.

Rai was within a few inches behind Lucy, who was still swatting like mad. With one swift motion of grabbing her torso, he lifts up Lucy, hugging her back as he nuzzled her neck. Lucy squeals in delight, knowing exactly who is holding her as she senses his aura. She writhes about, managing to flip herself to face Rai as he held her.

"Master!" She hugs him tightly, latching onto his body as he pets her head.

"Did you have fun whilst I talked to Kai?" Rai spoke.

"Yes! I was playing with those guys, they looked very happy!" Lucy replied

Rai looked at the grumbling moths.

"Kid, you should pay attention to your damn Riolu next time before she fucking swats my damn wings!"

"Freddie! Be nice to the guy, he must be new!"

Rai slowly walked backwards away from the duo, cradling Lucy in his arms. As a response for the two Butterfrees, he simply stuck his tongue out and pulled down one of his eyes as he held Lucy with one of his arms. Lucy giggled at his expression, much to the dismay of the couple.

"WHY YOU LITTLE SHI-"

"Bye." Rai turned his back to them, dismissing the angry rants as he approached his group. Bonnie and Jessica waited patiently for Rai to arrive, whilst Zara couldn't help but blush at the cloaked trainer who returned to the with a Riolu softly placed in his arms, nuzzling his chest gently as he held her. Bonnie was the first to approach him, observing Lucy in her cutest state.

"She looks so adorable..." Bonnie smiled at her. "Can I hold her?"

"Sure." Rai stretched out his arms, passing over Lucy to Bonnie. Lucy immediately reacted by diving her muzzle down the crevasse between Bonnie's breasts as she prepared to take a light nap.

"Soft...Pillows..." Lucy's mumbles fell silent as she slept.

Bonnie could only blush and glare at Rai and Zara, who snickered at the awkward situation. Jess, meanwhile, stared at her own bosoms, frowning lightly. Zara and her depressed friend casually walked over to where Rai and Bonnie were, leaving Kai by himself by the dango cart as he changes his clothes.

"Jess, I have to ask: How the hell did you save us from that situation?" Rai questioned. Bonnie wanted to know too, as she nodded in agreement to what he had said. Without uttering a response, one of Jessica's hands pointed towards the front of Kai and Sora's dango cart. In the small rectangular display on the front, it showed two frayed posters that were worn with age.

The first one displayed a antique version of a circus, with Mr. Mimes and Abras in costumes along with their human counterparts. It was aptly named: Miko's Circus, with a font that caused all of the letters to have small bumps around them.

The second poster displayed a much more modern theme, with a group of humans tending to lower evolutions of pokemon, more specifically the first stages. The background was light blue and was very calming to any who saw it. A small title in red was situated on the bottom of the poster, saying: Savior's Shelter, the home for displaced souls.

"Oh, so that's how you got that idea..." Rai said.

"That's actually some quick thinking from you, Jessie, well done." Bonnie praised her friend, who was still mulling over at her breasts.

"Either that kid is blind, or he can't look down to look at things...dumbass." Zara chuckled, earning a deathly glare from all three individuals.

"Can you be more sympathetic towards the situation Zara? Sweet Arceus, it's like you have no heart!"

"I don't like that kid, okay? We should just ditch him to get it over with."

"Zara, if you keep talking in this manner...I'm going to have to punish you by doing...it. " Rai smirked devilishly at Zara, who knew exactly what he would do if she kept on with her mockery.

"You wouldn't DARE."

"Oh, I will. And with Jess here, it'll make it much easier."

After warning Zara the implications of her constant jeering, Rai and the group approached Kai, who had changed his clothes. Further inspection showed that he had spare 'work' clothes, which were cleaner than the ones he wore recently. It was a simple t-shirt, white in color with an unmistakable logo of uncle Sora and what is assumed to be his father. The clothes came along with some shorts, which were navy colored with dried stains, all of which smelled quite sweet.

Once Kai had locked up the cart, the group started their journey to Saviors shelter, which supposedly held Kai's new friend.

Rai and the others attracted quite alot of attention as they walked through the streets of Eterna city, most of which were directed upon Zara, who was supposedly another pokemon from a region far different to this one. She didn't mind though, she rather liked the attention.

"Do you really know where this place is, Jess?" Rai asked.

"Well, we could just ask someone around us. I'm sure one of them would know where it is." She replied.

"Alright then. We've got alot of people here, we can just ask one of them then."

"Hello, mister? Do you know..."

"Hey, human, where's this pokemon shelter?..."

"Excuse me madam, my name is Rai, and I was wondering..."

Meanwhile...

She ran behind the bushes, diving inside them to hide from her predators. Her ears twitched to attention and her eyes frantically searched for any threat, paranoid that one of them will find her.

"C'mere baby! Let us help ya with your little heat. We'll be nice!"

Her body shook, revolting in disgust at his words, yet it also felt like it was being praised. She silently engulfs one of her claws with dark magic, forming a glove of shadows around it. She needed to be prepared if one of them found her, for it would be then end if she was caught.

Out in the clearing in front of her, she recognizes the group of pokemon who are after her, all corrupted with her alluring scent. An Arcanine, who was their leader, started to sniff the air, catching her scent.

"I know you're here somewhere...there's no point hiding anyway: This shelter will find you again if you run out of this place."

He was right, she had nowhere to go, and if she did escape, it was only a matter of time before she was found again and sent back to the shelter, where they will be waiting for her return. She growled lightly as tears formed in her eyes, her shadow claw began to lose it's strength due to her lack of concentration. There was no other way out of this, but she had to hold on...

Hold on to the hope that someone will get her out of this hell.

"Man, that took way more effort than it did."

"It's not my fault that the guy started to get scared."

"He was scared because you were threatening him! What else could he do against a Zoroark, who is much taller than him?"

"Fight me."

"Now that's just a death wish, Zara."

"He might might win, you never know."

"The key word right there, is 'MIGHT'."

Rai and Zara bickered with each other at the back of the group, following Jessica as she leads them to the shelter. Kai held Bonnie's claw as they walked, whilst Lucy slept on top of Rai's head, as usual. She didn't seem to be affected by the shouts and insults as Rai and Zara argued, which most likely suggested that she was a heavy sleeper.

Jessie walked in front of the group, walking with such formality that it impressed the citizens who walked past them. Some even complimented her grace, to which she thanked them for. Others looked at the group with a mixture of interest and disapproval, which was most likely due to the common rule to keep pokemon in their balls.

"Do you really think that I'll find someone like you, Bonnie?" Kai looked up to the Blaziken, who smiled sincerely at him.

"I know you will. Your new friend might not be as great as me, but he or she will still make you happy." Bonnies replied.

"What about the expenses?"

"I'm sure that Rai will give you enough to keep her indefinitely, just don't treat her like a pet, okay?"

"I promise." Kai tightened his hold on Bonnie's claw, smiling at her as he does so.

"Don't worry guys, We're almost there! I can see the shelter at the end of the road!" Jessica quickened her pace, causing the others to do the same.

Zara grumbled as she lazily ran with the group, not even attempting to lift her arms and just leaving them on the ground, dragging them as the bored, idle expression on her face makes it clear that she doesn't want to have anything to do with this. Rai got Lucy off his head, cradling her in his arms instead as he started to run with the group. Lucy meanwhile, snuggled up to his chest as he held her tight.

"Are we almost there, master?"

"Almost, sweetie..almost."

She ran with all her might.

Her legs ached from constant running.

Her body reeked of alluring scents and fluids.

Her mouth panted heavily, grabbing what oxygen it can as she defied her capture for mere moments.

She was running towards the end of the field, along the wooden fences of the shelter. She whizzed by oncoming humans and their children, running away from them rather than requesting for help. A pack of Evee evolutions and their Arcanine leader followed suit, all with grim smiles on their muzzles.

"Slow down, babe!"

"This is so fun!"

"I can see it from here!"

Beyond her view she could see the wall of fences turn left, which meant that she was running out of space. The walls slowly grew in size as she got closer and closer to the end, growing more and more intimidating for her.

Her little paws carried her away from them as fast as she could, but she won't be able to keep this up forever. They'd eventually reach up to her, and finish what they started...

She needed a savior.

And he was about to come in and save the day.

"Woah."

"Wow."

"...*pant*...Are we done with the damn running?!"

"Is this the place?"

"Look, Kai. Saviors shelter!"

"Master, are we there?"

The group leaned beside the fence that contained one of Kai's potential best friends. The grass was more healthier and abundant than the pale grass that Rai and his group stood on. The fence that blocked in the small reserve looked rather decrepit, but still sturdy enough to not fall down from one touch. Thoughts crossed Rai's mind as he wonders why the Saviors shelter didn't upgrade their defences, which was probably due to financial problems,or it could be the fact that they didn't have to do such things, as there was a possibility that no-one ever stole from the shelter in the first place.

The actual building of Saviors Shelter was at the far end of the field, barely visible from the group's 'field' of view. They still had quite a while to walk before they got to the shelter.

Lucy was struck in awe at the diverse pokemon that roamed the lush fields, in which most of them had not evolved, and there were a scarce amount of them which were fully evolved. She even saw some Lucarios and their Riolus as they played around.

"Master, look!" Lucy stuck out her little paw, pointing towards the family of Lucarios.

"Oh, wow. It's your kind, Lucy." Rai smiled.

"And yours too!" She replied, reciprocating his grin as she looked at him.

'Oh, right...that's true..' Rai thought.

Kai peered inside the fence, his eyes wandered frantically to each pokemon that came in sight, all of whom amazed him. Bonnie noticed this and patted his back, ruffling his head straight after. Zara blankly stared at the verdant fields, her head propped up by her arm on the fence.

"Come on kid, take your pick and let's get this over with." She said.

Kai hummed, putting his hand straight to his chin as he mulled over his next best friend.

Rai, Jessie, Bonnie and Lucy all waited patiently for his answer, taking that time to look at the pokemon themselves and maybe even suggest some to Kai. Zara meanwhile, preferred to take a light tan as she splayed out her torso on the ground, though why she took a tan with such dark skin was a question only she could answer.

...

...

...

...

"Hmmm..."

"Jeez, you should've made your choice when we got here."

Moments of silence followed.

At the far end of the field, she could see a small group of what seemed to be some pokemon and a human, along with a child. Whatever they were doing didn't matter to her, for she just needed them to protect her.

'Faster..faster! They're on my tail!'

She ran as if her life depended on it. Her legs burned from the build up of lactic acid in her muscles and her chest felt heavy. Each breath was painful too, as it felt like she was being singed from the inside out at each breath she took.

She raced past the oblivious members of pokemon on the field, not caring about what raced past them a few moments ago. Her single goal at that current situation was to escape and escape only, even if it meant by pleading for help for the group that she could almost reach.

She could hear the heavy footsteps of her predators, she could sense their anger and lust for her that fueled their bodies to chase her.

'Why...why did I have to be in heat at this time?!"

Her weak and overtaxed body demanded rest, her wracked mind demaded clarity, and her eyes demanded to cry.

She's almost there.

They are so close...

"Hey, what's with the Absol running towards us?" Zara said as she turned her head towards the field once more.

"I don't know, but it looks like she's playing a game." Rai replied

"Are you sure? It looks like she's getting chased by those guys behind her." Jessica tilted her head.

"Hey kid, pick that one so that we can get out of here and I can have my lunch."

"B-but I want that on-"

"Help me!"

The sudden scream of help attracted everyone's attention, fixing their eyesight to the small Absol who ran for dear life. Sudden panic coursed through their veins, alerting them of the situation that was unfolding in front of them. That Absol was not playing a game, no...that Absol was being chased.

Rai was the first to react, leaning inside the fence and into the field as he outstretched his arms, waiting for her to jump to them. Lucy jump onto Rai's head, sitting on his shoulders and slumping her chin over his head as she too, held out her hands to catch the Absol.

Bonnie and Jessie stood beside Rai, ready to catch the Absol if it jumps in the wrong direction.

Kai, meanwhile, was rooted to the spot. Fear forced him to distance himself from the group as they moved around to prepare to catch the Absol. His eyes were fixated on the small group of pokemon behind it, more specifically the Arcanine. He could see the rage in his eyes and the growl from his muzzle as he charges towards the Absol, pushing past the group as he closes the distance.

"Please, help me!"

"Don't worry, I got you! Just jump over the fence!" Rai shouted.

"Hurry! the bad guys are coming!" Lucy's frantic movement cause Rai to shift his position for a bit, but he stood his ground.

The Absol was within meters of the group, slowing down as it prepared for the jump. This caused the group behind her to advance staggeringly fast, due to them being driven to their prey leaving their grasp.

She jumped, front paws fully opened and her arms stretched across the her body. Its surprising speed added with it's weight turned her body into a cannonball, which was deadly and fast.

Rai braced for the incoming projectile that was the Absol. His arms caught hold of the pure white body as it collided with his own. The resulting force pushed him back violently, sending him a metre away from his initial position.

Bonnie and Jessie were propelled alongside him, as they were grabbing onto his arms as the Absol dove to his chest. The group tumbled across the ground creating a dust cloud from the dry earth.

Zara immediately went into her battle position, her claws out and her canine teeth showing it's pearly whites. Kai could only watch from a distance as Rai and his group prepared themselves for a possible battle.

"Get me out of here! please!"

The Absol pleaded to Jessica, seemingly knowing that she had teleportation due to her psychic nature. Jessica was flabbergasted, her eyes went wild in the heat of the moment and her judgement was clouded with panic.

"What about the pokemon behi-"

"GET ME OUT OF HERE! GET ME OUT! GET ME OUT! GET ME OUT!"

The Absol screamed at Rai and his pokemon on the ground as she keeps an eye on the advancing group. Rai and Bonnie frantically moved about, getting themselves up as Rai holds the Absol. Lucy was on the ground after being thrown from the sheer force exerted from the Absol as she dived towards Rai.

"Master...I'm hurt!"

Bonnie looked around to notice the Arcanine in the group who was shouting at them.

"Hey! Give us our slave back!"

"Rai, we gotta get out of here!" Bonnie shouted at Rai, who was disorientated from the sudden panic.

Zara stood in front of the group, getting ready to attack as she prepares her shadow claw.

"RAIJIN. WE'RE IN A BIT OF A SITUATION HERE! FUCKING TELL US WHAT TO DO!" She snarled, keeping her eyes on the approaching group.

Rai looked around at his surroundings.

'Lucy's on the ground near us, hurt.'

"Master!"

'Bonnie's shouting at the top of her lungs at me.'

"Rai! Rai! Come on!"

'Jessie's having a panic attack.'

"I-I-I-can't! How are we gonna get out of this!"

'Zara's getting ready to attack, with or without my orders.'

"SAY SOMETHING!"

What...

What am I supposed to do!

What do I do? Dammit!

"Help me, please help me!"

Driven by pure instinct, he grabs hold of Bonnie's wrist and shuffles to Lucy so that he could hold her leg.

"Jessica!"

"W-w-w-ha-"

"Use teleport! NOW!"

Jessica, understanding Rai's imperative demand, immediately glowed pink as her move began to take effect. She grabbed hold of Rai's chest, touching the Absol alongside him too as she grew brighter and brighter.

"Everyone hold on!" Rai shouted. "Zara! get over here!"

The light glowed brighter and brighter, quickly engulfing Jess and those touching her.

"Shit!" Zara turned back to look at Rai and the others, who were filled with a bright pink aura. Without hesitation, she leaped towards them crashing into Rai on the ground and landing on the Absol on his chest.

"Let's fucking go!"

"Wait, Kai!"

"KAI!"

The young child trembled, his feet sticking him to the ground like glue as his eyes were stuck onto the Arcanine and his cronies. It was only until the last few seconds that he realised the screams of his friends pleading him to get over where they are.

"KID GET, THE FUCK, IN!"

Kai finally looked back at them, understanding the situation as Zara held out her paw towards him.

Breaking through the wall of fear that enclosed him, he ran towards them.

But alas...

He was too late.

"Bonnie!"

"Kai"

*Flash*

...

...

...

...

He collided with the ground as he dived towards where his friends once were. Only a pink mist proved as evidence that they were real, and were not a figment of imagination.

His face met with the earthy floor. His hands lay open, touching the ground as he landed face-first.

He was too late.

"Aww man! she's gone!" He could hear one of them as they approached his being.

"You...you were with the ones who let our slave get away..."

"You're gonna pay, kid!"

"Ohh, you're soo dead!"

He could hear their little footsteps as they collide with the ground. His legs trembled with fear, feeling the hot flames that could only be suggested to come from the Arcanine.

He didn't have the courage to look at them, so he opted to keep his face staring at the floor.

He knew this was all his fault.

And help wasn't gonna come soon, judging from the distance of the Saviors shelter or from the humans who were distracted by the fields filled with abundant pokemon.

He knew that...

He was too late.

Sora woke up with a hefty yawn as the daylight from the spots of the corrugated roof hit his eyes.

*Yawn*

He looks to his side, noticing the absent form of 'Tracy' and Kai.

"Oh, looks like Kai and Tracy are starting early."

He smiles.

"Today's gonna be a great day for the three of us..."

"I just know it..."

"Kai...things are finally coming our way..."

And so, we finally meet the Absol.

To be honest, I just wanted one final twist for the last appearance of Kai, and what better twist than this?
