AAAAAAND we're back...again.
I'm not dead, I swear.
I think.
It's short again, but I'm just getting back into the groove. Next chapter should be in Friday, with more content (about 3x more) at the very least. Sorry I've been away. Chronic fatigue syndrome and such.
The group entered the building, trying their hardest to not catch attention to the new trainers littering the place. Rai shoves his hands into his pockets, staring at the shiny alabaster floor whilst Jessie and Bonnie hang behind him.
Zara, taking the initiative, pushed her head through the hole in Rai's arms, slipping into his hold as Rai looked with surprise.
"That was quite nimble of you." He chuckled.
"I'm due for some time alone with you, y'know." Zara smirked. "That Gardevoir and the booby chicken aren't just going to keep you for themselves."
"Well, if you want to, I'll choose you as my first." He smiled.
"I don't think that's possible." Zara replied.
"Why not? A dark type is a good curveball against a grass type gym leader." Rai questioned. Zara's head jerked back in confusion, dismissing her initial thoughts about what he said.
"O-oh."
"Hm?" Rai tightened his hold around Zara, coiling around her slim ebony waist as her red bush of hair spiked on end in excitement. Jessie grumbled silently whilst Bonnie looked around.
Bonnie took quick glimpses of each group of trainers, hoping to not find the Charizard in her sights. It didn't take long as she found the lumbering mass of lust interrupting a small group of female trainers and their pokemon by introducing himself. His tail slowly wagged with a bright flame, showing his intent and arousal.
Bonnie shivered in disgust as memories flooded back to her own experience.
To the corner of her eyes, she could find a black bird floating next to her. She could already see it open it's mouth in shock and gasp quietly. She tried to keep her face away from it, but it was too late.
"B-Bonnie?" The masculine voice spoke.
She didn't reply, pushing past Jessie and forcing herself into Rai's other side, wrapping herself around his arms. Jessie frowned and grumbled with more volume as she crosses her arms.
"Bonnie!" The Honchkrow flew right in front of Rai, finding his long lost friend snuggling deep in the arms of her trainer, who also held a Zoroark. "Where have you been?! We've missed you!"
"Uh, hey." She meekly responded.
"Is this your friend?" Rai asked. "Should I leave you two alone?"
"Who's this pipsqueak?" Zara hissed. "He's in our way."
Shade the Honchkrow glared, puffing up his chest as a response. Bonnie lifted her claw to caress his cheek to calm him down.
"We're just...gonna fight the gym leader, alright?" She avoided his look.
Shade tried to match her gaze to no avail. He then looks up back at Rai, who held her close. His forlorn look turned into slight anger as he realised he pieced back together some memories with her.
"You're the...y-you're the trainer she ran away from...right?" Night Shade pointed to Rai.
Rai's eyes went wide with shock. His whole body tensed and his hands clenched themselves. His mind rushes back to the ghastly events that recently happened.
"She ran away from you..right?" Night Shade flew closer to his face, his stern look and beak close enough to prod Rai's cheeks. "You're the one that abandoned her."
Rai stuttered without the presence of words coming out of his mouth. His arms tightened around Bonnie and Zara, the latter growling at the black-hatted bird for triggering her once-strong owner.
"Back off." She used her ruby tipped claw to push the bird back. "We have a gym leader to fight. If you want to settle some beef, then bring back your trainer and we'll have at it once we're done in this gym."
Night Shade backed off, flying back to Jack (who was sleeping in a couch) and settling nearby.
Zara looked back at Rai, who was still in shock as he stared at nothing. Bonnie was equally startled as she wordlessly reassures him, all the while holding back the tears at the scarring event. Zara forcefully freed herself from Rai's own grip and stood in front of him.
She hated seeing him like this. She hated this...pathetic and emotional side of him. She especially hated it when she doesn't understand why he was doing this, as she had never known of the incident prior to her knowing.
Zara slapped him hard, enough to graze his cheek with her sharp claw. It was audible enough to catch the attention of the nearby trainers, who looked on with curiosity.
"Get a hold of yourself, bud. You look terrible like this." Zara hugged him, calming Rai down. "I didn't submit to you because of this."
Zara licked the side of his neck, causing him to shiver and break free from his traumatic trance.
"Zara!" Rai struggled to get her off, only to have her continue to lick him and nibble lightly. Nearby male and female trainers looked on with disgust and arousal.
After a scuffle with the dark type pokemon, Rai managed to clear up mind and continue on with his initial mission.
After a small plenary with the old man standing behind the doors to the gym arena, Rai decided to leave the reception with Jess, Bonnie and Zara as his main three pokemon.
A gathering crowd of newbie pokemon trainers followed after Rai, who were about to spectate the mysterious trainer and his debut on Eterna gym. Some were arguing that he was relatively new and that his pokemon were gifts from his parents (who were also debated to be rich), some were arguing that he was going to overtake the current Gym leader, but other argued that this theory wasn't possible due to the pokemon he had. Others wanted to see the battle that would suddenly unfold.
Jack was in the crowd with all of his pokemon stored, save for his Charizard Blaze. He hung back from the crowd and watched silently.
Rai and his trio entered the gym, only to be met with harsh sunlight as the roof of the gym was cut open.
In front of them was the symbolic flower clock, which covered almost the entire area of the gym. There were three sections that surrounded Gardenia, who was the furthest at the other side of the gym. The clock hummed ominously, it's metallic petals acting as hand shifted to Rai.
A trainer came out of the bushes that walled the entrance, blocking the path.
His smug grin turned sour immediately as he saw the jovial Gardevoir, the uneasy blaziken and the bored Zoroark, who was picking her nose.
"There's three of these twerps, right?" She eyed the teenage opponent.
"I think so." Rai put a hand over his eyes like a visor and looked around. "We're gonna have to beat three of these guys.
"Easy enough." Zara sharpened her claws.
From the other side, Gardenia looked at the cloaked figure with his three pokemon. She shivered in intimidation, but quickly composed herself as she finds newfound determination towards her challenging opponent.
"Now that's a trainer who I'd Like to battle." She smiled as she watched the zoroark fling the 1st trainer's budew into the sky.
Jack flew to the air with Blaze, observing Rai with a stoic expression as the crowds below awed at the effortless attack made by the Zoroark.
"He looks tough."
Sorry there's not much action here, but the next one will have some soon enough.
Gonna make some Undertale AsgorexToriel by this weekend, to enlighten some people on how Asriel was born.
*wink* *wink*...I was winking there, if you didn't catch it.
Oh, and there's a huge poll on my profile which you should probably visit, since I'm declaring my projects that I will start (and revive) in my revival as a fimfiction author.
