It's a rare sort of day. Kingsley can't remember the last time he and Harry were both off on the same day. Sure, sometimes their schedules would allow them to spend a few hours together before having to run off and tend to their duties and responsibilities at the Ministry.
"I was thinking about what we could do today," Harry says as they sit down for breakfast.
Kingsley suspects Hermione might have something to do with this conversation. She has always been so ridiculously organized, infinitely more than Harry is. If anyone actually stopped to plan out how to responsibly spend a day away from work, it would be her.
"We've got a few projects to do around the house," Harry continues, pushing his glasses up before taking a sip of his tea.
Kingsley is aware, of course. It seems that there's never a shortage of things to fix and add at Grimmauld Place. He likes to spend at least a few hours each week tidying and repairing as needed.
"Harry, as thrilling as it would be to spend our day off working," he says, his tone rich and bordering on teasing, an unspoken promise of a beautiful possibility, "we could just spend it… together."
"Right. I thought having both of us working would get it done faster, but we don't have to do two separate projects."
Kingsley rolls his eyes, reminding himself that there's a reason Harry hadn't been a Ravenclaw. "Or we could just take the day all the way off," he suggests. "I think we could both benefit from curling up on the couch and watching those Muggle films you like so much. Maybe order some takeout later."
A soft blush stains Harry's cheeks as he lets out a soft laugh. "Oh. That makes more sense." He offers Kingsley a soft grin. "I would love to spend my day doing nothing with you."
