'Thoughts'

As the door shut Carlos sat up. He got out of bed and laid on the floor. He, unlike Jay and the girls, wasn't used to it. The girls had their own bed and Jay slept on the couch. He wasn't so lucky. His mom forced him to sleep on the floor like a dog. To use this bed made him feel like he was going to get punished. He fell asleep soon after. The carpet was comfier than the dirty concrete floor back home.

Jay watched silently as it happened. It saddened him but he did nothing to help. He refused to show weakness and he knew Carlos did the same. Caring about others was a weakness just as asking for help was one. Their parents showed them that.

Jay closed his eyes and soon he too fell asleep. Both dreamed of getting the wand.

(Time skip: Morning- Cafeteria)

Everyone turned and looked at the four as they entered. The VKs were expressionless as they watched the room. Ben made his way over to them.

"Good morning." He greeted them with a smile.

"What's so good about it?" Mal asked in genuine curiosity.

"Huh?" Ben was never asked that and had no answer for it either.

"Mal, he isn't a villain or the child of one." Carlos reminded her.

"So?" Her eyebrow was raised.

"He was raised to love sunlight and smile." He said.

"Right. I forgot." She said.

"Don't blame you." Jay sneered at the staring students.

"Oh." Ben realized her question. "I'm sorry that I didn't think about that."

"Huh?" Now it was the VKs turn to be confused.

"I didn't really think about here and the Isle being different." He felt embarrassed and guilty about it.

"Duh!" Carlos said.

The VKs snickered at the prince for that. These goodie-two-shoes wouldn't have thought about that. After they sent their parents to the Isle they forgot about them. No one thought about their kids either.

Ben wasn't used to the hostility and the other students weren't used to seeing it. They all just stared at the group. The VKs noticed the stared and glared at them. The students quickly looked away. Ben cleared his throat.

"A-anyway, the food is over there. Just get a tray and fill your plates. Sit anywhere that's free." He said.

The VKs looked at the food in shock. They had never before seen so much food before. Not even at Ursula's restaurant. Most of the food wasn't that good. It was made out of poor ingredients and ingredients that were already going bad. It was common to bite into a shiny apple and find that it was rotten. The person to sell it had just made it look fresh. Jay and Carlos shared a look before racing over to it.

Hearing the two fighting caught everyone's attention. They watched the two as the girls made their way over to the food. Jay may be stronger but Carlos was more agile. Ben looked at the girls as he followed behind.

"They do know the food is for everyone, right?" He asked.

Both looked at the soon-to-be king in shock. "Really?" Evie asked.

"Yes." The question caught the prince's attention.

"No fighting to see who gets the food? No rotten food? Fresh?" Mal asked.

"No, no, and yes." He answered as he filed their questions away for later.

The girls walked over to the boys. To the shock of many they kicked the boys before flipping them onto the floor. Mal twisted Carlos onto his back and twisted his arm onto his back. Evie kept Jay on his back but pressed her left foot against his neck. They then proceeded to tell the boys what Ben had told them.

"Really?" They asked.

"That's what that pretty boy said." Evie answered.

"Oh." Jay said as they were released.

"That's new." Carlos commented as he stood up.

"Yeah." He agreed.

Jay stood up and the VKs went over to get food. Almost everyone was shocked that the boys shrugged off what the girls had done and what they had done to each other. Ben stared at them thoughtfully. They revealed something that didn't sit well with him.

"Hi handsome." His girlfriend said as she made his way over to him.

"Hey." He greeted back distractically.

"What's up?" She asked.

"Nothing." He smiled before returning to the table and eating his breakfast.

The four found an empty table. They sat down and began eating. Anyone that was unfortunate to see them looked away. They had no table manners and devoured their meal like animals. Once finished they went to class.
