Holly Brooke

A/N:

Hey guys! I couldn't post yesterday because something came up and I died inside. But I'm here now so here you go...

Holly Brooke chewed her salad wrap thoughtfully, clunking her brand new Birkenstocks together. Her first day of school was going great so far. She'd made friends with Mylene and Alix, two girls in her new class. The sun was shining and the blooming flowers outside put off a sweet scent, wafting through the school. Holly looked up as the chattering grew louder and found herself looking up at Adrien Agreste and Alya, the girl who ran her favourite blog, the Ladyblog. Holly had meant to ask her for tips on starting her own blog but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Maybe now was the time? As they passed by, she caught a few of Alya's words. "...wanted to start working on it today. But she doesn't have a model." They stopped a few meters away from her and continued their conversation. Adrien hummed thoughtfully and said, "Well, I'd be happy to help. But don't you need two models?" Alya smirked. "Yeah, though I don't think she'd mind you coming alone." Adrien blinked. "Oh, well that's okay then, right?" he said innocently.

Holly sighed. Couldn't the boy see what Alya was hinting at? HOW DENSE COULD A HUMAN BEING GET?! She packed up her bag and slung it over her shoulder, making a beeline for the duo. "Hey," said Holly, barely whispering. Alya and Adrien barely moved. Grabbing her courage by it horns she stood up straight and cleared her throat maybe a touch too loudly. Adrien and Alya jumped and turned around, Adrien twisting a silver ring around and around his finger. Holly blushed a deep red and began to speak softly. "Um, hey! I couldn't help but hear that you needed a model. Not that I was eavesdropping! You were standing so close and I can hear so Ii heard and then I had to ask and now I rambling, kill me now..." Alya laughed and patted Holly on the back. "You'll do perfectly! I'm sure Marinette would appreciate it." Holly regained some of her confidence and smiled. "Come to Tom and Sabines Boulangerie at… how about 5?" Holly beamed and it felt like her insides had turned to honey, glowing warm and happy in her belly.

4:30 pm. At least she wouldn't be late. Holly walked down the sidewalk, admiring the Seine as she drifted past. She was just about to climb up the stairs into the streets when the was a loud roar, dripping with rage and hatred. Holly felt an ice-cold chill settle into her bones as she raced up the stairs to find the source of the noise. An impossibly tall figure loomed over the city, it's arms rippling with bulging muscles, screaming Marintte's name. The worst part was that it was headed straight for Marinette's house. Holly's breath caught in her throat. She may not be friends with Marinette but she couldn't just stand by and do nothing while she knew that Marinette was in danger! She's come in second place at the country carnival. I can do this! She thought, steeling herself for the run. Another roar sounded behind her and she turned to see the akumatised villain ripping the roofs of house and hurling them across the city as if they were playtoys. That was the last straw. Holly set off at a paced sprint, pumping her arms and legs as if her life depended on it. Well, not yours. Marinette's. All the more reason to go faster. The fear of losing someone spurred her onward giving her already high adrenaline a boost.

Her feet pounded along the sidewalk, her breath coming in ragged bursts. Relief flooded her tired body as she rounded the corner to face the bakery Marinette lived in. She paused at the door, clawing at her throat to get her breath back and pushed it open, stumbling into the bakery. She looked around to find no-one there and immediately panicked. Had they already taken her?! No, it couldn't be. The monster, though huge as it was, was slow-moving at best. Holly opened a door to find a stairwell and raced up trying each and every door. Finally, she opened a door that led into a room with Tom and Sabine sitting inside. Sabine turned around, surprised to see a freckled girl with dishevelled brown hair standing in their living room, panting. "Where's… Where's Marinette?" Without waiting for an answer, she dashed up the stairs, only to find Marinette was nowhere in sight. But one thing caught her eye. A small piece of paper that said Important- Only open In emergency

-Your Choices-

Do you open the envelope? Marinette could be in danger but was this note meant to be opened by you?

Okay, so this was longer than usual but I couldn't help myself! This chapter was for HopeGiver07! I'm pretty sure that we have filled 7 vacancies. So we still have three spots left! That's it for today and I'm going to go take a catnap. (Pun intended, lol)

Bug Out! hehe
