Well, I got two requests for Marellinh- one that I'm actually obligated to do for MarellaIsTheBest and another from Marigold Elizabeth Everdeen- and, once again, I'll be combining them. And, since I have an eNdLeSs WeLL of Marellinh content, it wasn't too hard.

Guest: Thanks! :)

writinficsandbreakinhearts: Hmmmm. I don't really ship Sotam, but mayyyyyybe. I'll think about it. Nice username, though!

Jem: Hiiiiii! Thanks, Keefe is 100% going to turn into Grady when he has kids and no one can convince me otherwise. Hmm... this one is Marellinh, but I couldn't work in the nickname thing, but I will try to get to that!

Marigold Elizabeth Everdeen: Aww, thanks! You may, and I have granted your request like the generous author I am. (Cough, it was already written, cough, I had already promised a Marellinh oneshot.) Lol, fangirl all you want. It's a compliment.

Lilac: No problem! Glad it was good.

TheBackedUpT-Rex: He's obviously going to, no one can convince me otherwise.

MarellaIsTheBest: Sparklehouse is a great name. It was either that or, like, salt-something. Totally XD. Thanks! And here's your Marellinh stuff.

Country-Fangirl: AHH THANK YOU!

Speaking of Marellinh, my A very obsessed fangirl account has a new Marellinh fanfiction called "Break the Rules!" Shameless self promotion time. But first, read this oneshot. Hope you enjoy!

Elvin legend speaks of soulmates, of two people so deeply in love that they are, quite literally, meant for each other. The exact perfect person. The other half.

A soul can never be complete without a soulmate.

Soulmates can be platonic or romantic, or someone can never find theirs at all. It is possible to live a happy life without a soulmate. A good life, ignoring the knowledge that it could always be better.

That is a majority of people. Content to be with someone who is mostly perfect for them, content to be mostly happy. A majority of people ignore the one missing piece.

Linh Song is not a majority of people.

From the moment she reads about soulmates, she feels the missing piece in her soul, aching like a physical pain. More than anything, Linh wants to find her soulmate. To achieve true happiness.

According to the legend, soulmates will feel a physical bond when they find each other. A pull, like gravity, bringing them closer. And they can feel each other's emotions. Like Empaths.

Linh always wanted to manifested as an Empath, and even after she manifests as a Hydrokinetic, she doesn't give up hope that she'll be an Empath for that one special person.

"Do you think the legend's real?" she asks Tam, soon after she manifests.

Tam, salty and pessimistic already, shakes his head. "Soulmates don't exist."

Linh crosses her arms and pouts. "Well, I think soulmates are real, and I'm going to find mine," she insists.

Tam yawns. "Good luck with that. I'm going to live a fulfilling life of mallowmelt and nothing else."

"What about custard bursts?"

"You have a point there."

It turns out Tam's pessimism was right, Linh thinks several months later. She's just been banished, sent to Exilluim. That is not the place to find a soulmate. No one's allowed to see each other's faces, let alone speak to one another!

Linh still believes soulmates exist. She's just losing hope that she'll find hers.

A few years later (she thinks- time seems to blur in Exilluim, with the beads the only indicator of each passing day), Sophie Foster comes. Linh is not attracted to Sophie Foster- goodness knows that girl has enough suitors already- but Sophie sets her free from Exilluim. Free to live her life, to return to Foxfire, to meet new people.

To meet her soulmate.

They are slightly preoccupied with a war, though. Not much time for falling in love, for romance- though Sophie Foster tries it anyway. Linh's own love life, though, remains miserably nonexistent.

Then a new girl comes into their squad, of Black Swan teenagers. The new Pyrokinetic is introduced.

Their eyes meet, and Linh feels this new girl drawing her in, the same way she feels around water. But this gravity isn't dangerous. Linh doesn't fight it.

The new girl, Marella Redek, is Linh's opposite in every way. Abilities, first and foremost- she is fire, Linh is water. In their looks as well- Marella's blonde hair and pixielike frame contrasting Linh's dark hair and above average height.

Their personalities are opposite too. Marella is loud and bubbly while Linh is quiet and serene. Wild and outgoing while Linh is serious and introverted. Flirty while Linh is shy, admiring Marella from afar, falling in deeper every second and never coming back up.

Linh is sure Marella is her soulmate. Marella has yet to notice.

Linh starts to wonder if her desperation for a soulmate caused her to imagine it all.

Her concerns are vanquished just before Marella's first Pyrokinesis lesson with Fintan.

Linh is already uneasy, twirling her hair as she worries for her friend. (Friend doesn't seem like a good enough word to encompass it, but that's all Marella wants to be.) But her fear is nothing compared to Marella's. The other girl is shaking despite the warmth, pacing and nearly hyperventilating, setting random things on fire. (Linh is familiar with that last one- she floods things when she gets anxious, to Tam's annoyance.)

Butterflies float in Linh's stomach as a thought crosses her mind- could she take Marella's hand to comfort her? It's terrifying and exciting all at once. Her hand twitches slightly, reaching for the other girl, but Linh changes her mind at the last moment, nervous that Marella won't feel the same way, that their friendship will go sour, knowing that this is not the time to deal with that.

But Marella looks so scared, so pitiful, that Linh reaches out and grabs anyway.

To her relief, Marella smiles, squeezing slightly.

For a second, Linh feels like she's flying on an alicorn with delight. Then, anxiety crashes over her like a bucket of ice water. She feels just like Marella must be feeling. It's getting harder to breathe, as she shivers she feels the need to do something- anything- with her hands, and the water particles in the air merged together before exploding.

It's overwhelming.

Linh lets go for a second, wanting to play with her hair to relieve some of the nerves, but the second her hand leaves Marella's, the feeling goes away.

Curious, she touches their hands together again, and the fear rushes back.

"You're really confused right now," Marella murmurs. "A bit excited, too. Wait, how do I-?"

Linh interlaces her fingers with Marella's, taking a deep breath. "Empathy," she whispers. To herself or to Marella, she doesn't know.

Elvin legend speaks of soulmates, of two people so deeply in love that they are, quite literally, meant for each other. The exact perfect person. The other half.

A girl determined to prove the myth correct and a girl who believed no one could love her enough to be her soulmate stand, holding hands. The shared feelings overwhelm them, but they don't let go. For the first time, they feel complete, standing with their other half.

What- another happy ending!? *Sputters indignantly* WHAT IS THIS!?

The author should be punished!

...oh wait.

If you have a oneshot, feel free to request it! Tell me...

SHIP: (Required) Self explanatory. LGBTQ+ ships are more than okay! I love the gay ships! I obviously won't do incest or pedophilia. And I'm just telling you right off the bat, I don't write Sophie x Fitz. I also won't do couples that are married to someone else (EX: Grady x Della, not that I think anyone ships it).

MOOD: (Not technically required, but helpful) Fluffy? Happy? Tragic? Tragic is kind of my default, in case you were wondering...

TOPIC: (Not required) What should it be about? First date? Raising kids? Soulmate AU? Soulmate AU is probably my default.

You can request by either review or private messaging.

And remember, I have the right to refuse this request unless I promised one to you specifically. Whether I don't write for the ship, I don't like the topic, or I just keep hitting a wall when I set out to write your chapter, I have the right to refuse, so don't get mad at me for not granting a request. I also may take a while, but unless I specifically state it, I am planning on writing your chapter.

I think that's all! Please review!

Your semi-obedient author, A. Fan.
