Part 31. The aftermath

The word 'commitment´was definitely NOT included in Inuyasha's dictionary. Yet, it took him only one year of dating and six months of living together for him to only confirm what he knew all along.

- Happy anniversary, dogboy. I love you. - Kagome said, giving him a quick peck, before he stood from the porch where they sat and headed to the kitchen to bring more wine.

They'd finished a whole bottle by now, and she was starting to feel her cheeks warmer. But the way he was looking at her as he approached made her heart beat a little bit faster.

- I love you, too, and thank you for giving me a chance of making you happy. It's all I ever want to do, for the rest of my life. So… Kagome Higurashi, will you make me the happiest hanyou alive and marry me?

She could only nod and threw herself at him quite eagerly, eyes flooded with happy tears, while he kneeled there, an opened ring box in his hands.

A.N. Here's the epilogue I promised! I'm really happy to have finished the story (as you can see, it took me literal years), and thank you to those still sticking around and who've taken the time to read it all. Cheers!
