This fic has been in my head for a while now, and I haven't found many other complete fics that have what I'm looking for, so I'm doing it myself. This takes place sometime between Civil War and Infinity War, though I guess it's an AU where the two teams settled their differences. There's also Spideychelle in here because it makes the story better with it. Actually … yeah, pardon my language, but it really f**ks with the timeline.

I own nothing except for the story and plot.

Being Spider-Man was awesome.

Who wouldn't think it was? Peter was able to swing through the city and protect the people within it on a daily basis. Though, it did kind of suck how much people there were in the city that caused him a fair bit of trouble.

It almost sucked as much as hearing a man with a mustache rant about how he was a menace to the entire city.

But it's not like he could do anything about it. Although, he did know to do something about the things he could. Such as the kid he saw getting cornered by some muggers in an alley he saw nearby. He swung down and landed to face the muggers. They turned around to look at him, slightly panicked, but also trying to still look intimidating. "Alright, now, I don't think we can have that."

They glared at him, and one charged at him with a knife. "This is none of your business!"

Peter shot a web at the mugger's knife hand, and stuck the other end of the web to the side of the alley. "Anytime something like this happens, it's my business."

Peter webbed up the second one's feet pretty easily. The last one leapt at him, but Peter dodged to the side and webbed him to the wall he flew into.

Peter went over to the kid, and held out his hand. "Hey, you okay?" The kid nodded and gripped his hand, getting back up, stuttering "Y - You're Spider-Man."

Peter nodded nonchalantly. "Costume gives it away, doesn't it?" He picked up the kid's backpack on the ground and gave it to him. "Here you go. Now, be careful, and have a nice day." Peter jumped up and shot a web, pulling on it once it reached its target, letting it pull him away. It never got old.

A con of being Spider-Man was that sometimes he was a bit late to class.

Luckily, that wasn't the case today.

He was just cutting it a bit close.

"Hey, loser," MJ greeted him. "Where've you been?"

"Getting here."

"That doesn't really answer my question, but okay."

Mr. Harrington clapped his hands. "Alright, everyone, eyes up here now - Mr. Thompson, please get off your phone, thank you, alright, now, today, we have a new student."

Peter's eyes widened a bit as the kid he had saved earlier came to the front of the class. "Hey, um, my name is Eddie Brock."

He didn't say anything else, so Mr. Harrington said "Well, uh, Eddie, how about you go over to that table over there?" He pointed to Peter, MJ, and Ned's table. Eddie nodded and went over.

Mr. Harrington started the lesson, but none of them were really paying attention. Peter held out his hand and said "Hi, I'm Peter." Eddie shook his hand. "That's MJ," he said, "and that's Ned."

"Hey," Eddie said.

"What's that?" MJ asked him, pointing out what Peter recognized as some webbing.

"Oh, a piece of Spider-Man's webbing."

"Really?" Peter asked him. Eddie nodded. "I got it after he saved me from some thugs this morning. It was really hard to get, since it was so sticky, but it came off eventually."

"That's awesome," Ned said in awe.

"His webbing evaporates in an hour, though," Peter said. Eddie's eyes widened. "Really?" He looked at the webbing again. "I was wondering why the city wasn't covered in webs."

"Traffic would be horrible," Peter laughed.

"Hey, you four, eyes up here, please," Mr. Harrington said. They reluctantly fell silent, but went back to not paying attention. Peter smiled. He was under the impression he had just made a new friend.

~After school~

Finally! School was over! The moment the final bell of the day rang, Peter leapt out of his seat with his bag in hand and ran out of the classroom. A couple of moments later, he was stopped by a teacher who reminded him that there was no running allowed in the hallways. He always forgot about that.

Once he was out of the building, however, he immediately broke into a run. He may not have been looking both ways before crossing the street, but if he was being honest, he could probably take a car running into him. He was Spider-Man.

He dashed into an alley and checked to see if anyone was looking. When he confirmed there was nobody, he took off his clothes, knocking over a few trash cans in the process. He was the bane of trash cans' existence. Once he was done, he pulled out his suit and put it on. It fit like a large bedsheet at first, but once he pressed the emblem, it fit perfectly.

"Hello, Peter," said a polite, female voice from the inside of his suit.

"Hey, Karen," Peter responded. He checked to make sure everything was working right and smiled under the mask. "It's hero time."

Hey, who understood that reference?
