I: Yes, Karen is from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Am I the only one who doesn't really view school as important? I used to want to work in the film industry, which I already didn't really need school for, but I'm learning that I wouldn't have as much creative control as I would like, so I'm thinking of going more into YouTubing, and even some of my teachers have said that what we learn probably isn't going to be used in life.

I own nothing except for the story and plot.

Peter felt the wind against his face while he swung across the city. He smiled underneath the mask. He couldn't imagine living without Spider-Man. He was a part of him. Someone that was sometimes a problem, sometimes a joy, but at the end of the day, it was who he was. And he was always going to be a part of his life.

Nothing eventful really happened that day before he was about to go home. He stopped a runaway cabbage thief, helped settle an argument between two Star Wars fans (they were arguing whether or not the prequels were good), saved a dog from getting run over, saved a kid from getting bullied, and got a ball out of a tree. Nothing really too exciting.

That is, until the trip home.

He had decided to call it a day, and was swinging on a strand of webbing home when he heard someone scream in an old, abandoned warehouse. Soon after, there was a loud sound, and he heard a loud, screeching sound. He let go of the web and landed on the roof. He crawled over to an open window on the side and saw a group of people. They had a treasure trove of tech with them. The good thing was that they weren't weapons. The bad thing was that they were being used to experiment on a piece of what looked like some ooze.

"Hey, Karen, zoom in," Spider-Man whispered.

"Hey, boss," one of them said, "why are we doin' this in this old place instead of your building?"

A very large man answered. "I am not very keen on letting alien life into my building that we know nothing about." He turned his gaze towards a man in a wheelchair who seemed to be examining the ooze. "Alistair! What do you know about it?"

The man he called Alistair smiled and looked at a tablet in his hands. "It's extremely powerful. If we were to gain control over it - "

"You mean to tell me that you don't have control?"

Alistair looked slightly nervous. Spidey was as well. The big man was scary. "W - well, right now, it is erratic. Out of control. It's a symbiote. It needs a host."

Spidey figured where this was going next, and he decided he didn't want anyone becoming that thing's host. There was no telling what would happen. He leapt from his hiding spot and landed in front of the men, standing between them and the slime. "You know, I think N.A.S.A. would be very interested in what you're doing here. You should bring this to them."

"Spider-Man!" The big man growled. Spidey nodded happily. "That's me!" He shot a web at one of the men who was pulling his gun, and ripped it out of his grip. He whipped it to the side, hitting the others in the head while doing so, knocking them out. Spidey webbed up the wheels of Alistair's wheelchair and was admiring his handiwork when he realized that the big guy was gone. Suddenly, two large hands wrapped around his body and pinned him to the wall. "You shouldn't have interfered with my work, Spider-Man!" He pulled one hand back and formed a fist. "Now you will know what happens when you mess with the Kingpin!"

Spider-Man didn't really know how he was going to get out of this one. The man was too strong for even him to break free from his steel-like grip. Suddenly, strands of black ooze grabbed onto the Kingpin from behind, and threw him aside. Spidey fell to the ground, and when he got back up, he saw the symbiote in front of him. It looked like it was shaking. It was scared.

"Hey there," Spider-Man said calmly, holding out his hand. "So you're an alien, huh?"

The symbiote grabbed onto his hand and he smiled. "Let's see if we can see what you are. And if we can help you."

Spider-Man shot a web with the symbiote perched onto his shoulder and swung off.

"Hey, Karen. Call Mr. Stark."

His phone rang for a couple of seconds before his mentor, Tony Stark picked up. "What's up, kid?"

"Hey, Mr. Stark, I was fighting these guys who were experimenting on some ooze, and they said it was an alien."

Mr. Stark was silent on the other end for a few moments. "An alien?"

"Yeah. I got it, but I was thinking that I should find out what exactly it is. They said it was a symbiote, but that's really all I know. I was wondering if you could help me."

"Sounds alright, kid. Come on over to the tower."

"Okay."

He hung up, and shot a web that stuck to a building. He pulled on it, and stopped sticking his feet to the ground so that it launched him halfway across the city. The symbiote let out a loud squeal, and was shaking a lot when they landed on the tower. Spidey clung the wall and crawled through an open window.

"You know, kid, have you ever thought about coming in through the lobby? That pass of yours almost never gets used."

Spidey turned around and smiled under his mask. It was Mr. Stark. "It's easier coming in through windows. I'm glad you always leave one open when I tell you I'm coming, or I'd be crawling in through the vent."

"Yeah, but it's not without its cons, such as," he slapped the back of his neck, "the occasional mosquito coming in."

He saw the symbiote perched on Spider-Man's shoulder and pointed at it. "Is that it?" Spidey nodded. "Should we head into your lab?" Mr. Stark nodded and led Peter into the lab, where Bruce Banner was. He saw them and said "Tony, Peter, hey, what's going - " he saw the symbiote and pointed at it. "What is that?"

"That's what we're trying to figure out. Peter, can you put it on the table?"

Spidey nodded and tried to grab it, but it slid out of his hands and inched away to his other shoulder. "Hey, it's alright." The symbiote sat there for a couple of seconds, but crawled down his arm to the table. Bruce scanned it and looked at the data. "Okay, so it's a symbiote. It's very powerful, and it seems to amplify characteristics of its host." He crouched down to get a closer look at the symbiote. "Interesting…"

"How about you leave that here?" Mr. Stark said. "We can look at it overnight, and it's getting late. You should head home." Spidey nodded. He put on his mask and was about to jump out the window, when he heard noises of surprise and looked back to find the symbiote gone from the table, now perched on his shoulder again. "It seems to like you," Bruce said. Mr. Stark seemed to think for a moment before saying "Alright, you can hold onto it. Just, be careful." Peter nodded and jumped out of the window.

Ooooooooo … symbiooooooote. Scaaaaaaaryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
