Surrey McLaren, 15, District 6 Female

Axel Porter, 16, District 6 Male

Sunday

8:23 A.M. - 12:45 P.M.

September 12th

94 A.D.D.

I was standing in church singing my gospel music. The peacekeepers entered the room, asking for all citizens aged twelve to eighteen years old to come with them. The vocalization in the room stopped. Was it really time for the reaping already? I had to reassure myself that everything would be alright. My torso turned towards the isle as I strolled through. I was put into a line with Axle, a friend of mine. He's been acting...weird to me for awhile. I looked at him and said.

"Looks like we have to attend another reaping…" I frowned.

"It's gonna be fine Surrey." He responds to me.

"But what if it's not Axel? What if I'm picked, if you're picked, or worst...were both picked."

"Listen we have never been picked." He says.

I rolled my eyes, and frowned. I knew we could be picked, Axel knew it, but he didn't want to think about it.

The peacekeepers then sorted the remaining adults and exited the church. I marched behind them as I worried and wondered if I was being led towards my own death. I shuddered and arrived at the justice center.

I stood in the finger pricking line. I never liked needles, but whatever. I waited impatiently and looked at the needle line getting shorter and shorter until it was my turn. I held out my hand as I was pricked and went over to land in my line.

Axel Porter, 16, District 6 Male

I quietly departed from the peacekeepers group without being seen by anything. Once I was out of view I ran towards a dark streetway to meet some kids. These kids were selling morphing, and no matter how much I promised Surrey to stop,I wasn't able to. It's like my water, it's a biological need. I took out some money and handed it over, as I was handed two morphing needles. I quickly injected them into me, a relaxing smile came across my face as I thanked the boys and hurried back to the justice building.

I got my finger pricked and went towards the boys line. As I stood there I heard a boy holler at me.

"Hey There's the young porter morphing!" The boy hollered as his friends laughed.

I ignored the boy and his friends as I saw the reaping escort walk onto the stage.

Xander Von Train, 22, District 6 Mentor, Victor of the 90th Annual Hunger Games

My neon glowing eyes fixed on the boys and girls of district 6. They all looked terrified, and nervous for what's about to happen. It's surprising how the reaping can change your life, your family's, and everyone's. It's not fair, however it was set in stone 94 Years ago.

My family has made history in these horrid games for having four family members become victors, I was the fourth. However we had many losts in the family, too many to even count. I was just the youngest child of Mr. Von Train and Mrs. Von Train. My mother's grandfather, Alexander Von Train won the 3rd Annual Hunger Games. Which made her want us to win as well.

I never really wanted to win, nor did I want to play. However it was not up to me, it was up to my parents who stole my life away from me. I was nothing but their puppet. Since my sister Fiona Von Train won the 85th Hunger Games, the high council allowed my family to train. They may say it was a 'miracle' but I say it was a nightmare.I trained until I fell down of exhaustion. However it helped me win the 90th Annual Hunger Games and had 5 kills. I felt horrible for killing, but what has been done, been done.

I watched the escort robot-like voice give the annual speech as well as play the annoying propaganda video. I tuned her out until it was time for the tributes to be said. I watched her body move towards the female bowl as she pulled the name out.

"Surrey McLaren." She says biting her lip.

I turned to the girl who broke down into tears, but walked onto the stage. Poor, poor girl, she didn't deserve this, but it's the way it was. I then watch the female walk to the boys bowl, as she pulls a name out I hear a loud voice.

"I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!" a boy said.

He rushed onto the stage and hugged the female tribute, they must know each other then I assumed. As the escort asks his name, I lean forward in my seat.

"Axel Porter." He responds.

A Porter? Everyone in the district knew the family were drug users, however It was my duty to help both tributes the best I can, and that I will do. I followed the tributes as the escort escorted them to the train.

Yay that was the end of the reaping chapter! Once again sorry it was short, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!
