This chapter doesn't really begin with Peter's perspective, because, you know, he's asleep. It's more like third person. Also, take your time reading it. The song matches up quite nicely if you read at the right pace.
I've decided to put songs for chapters, so, uh … Song of the Chapter: Black Suited Spidey by Christopher Young. You can set that one to loop, or play Tunnel Fight, by Christopher Young immediately after.
I own nothing but the story.
Peter laid in bed, asleep in the suit he hadn't taken off before going to bed.
On the floor, crawling out of his bag, was the symbiote. It moved itself towards Peter's bed, crawling up the side on the sheets. Once on the bed, it attached itself to Peter's hand. Peter twitched a bit, but made no further movement. The symbiote could already feel his emotions at the time. The strongest seemed to be anger and love.
It grew larger, attaching itself to his arm. Peter twitched some more. It now covered up his entire left arm in black. His body kept twitching. It moved on towards his torso, covering up the bright, red and blue suit with black. Peter's body started convulsing, moving and twisting violently. The symbiote felt his anger. And who he was angry at.
It covered more of his body, moving onto the lower body. He was moving the bed now. It shook, and made creaking noises as it was moved on the wooden floor it was on as the symbiote covered his legs in black. He was breathing heavily, his heart beating quickly.
"Warning," said Karen, "foreign entity detected."
Suddenly, his eyes opened up wide, as the symbiote covered up his face. He gasped when he saw what the symbiote was doing to him. He tried to move his body, but he couldn't. The symbiote confined him to his bed. Suddenly, everything went black as it covered Peter's entire face.
…
Spider-Man woke up. He was hanging upside down in the city. He didn't remember getting there. He looked around and didn't see anyone nearby. Nobody that could have brought him there. Then he saw his reflection in a window on the building he was hanging from.
His suit was black. His eyes were wider. And the small, black, spider emblem was replaced by a big white one. The texture of the suit was slimy, and shiny
"What is this?" he said to himself, letting go of his web and sticking to the building. He looked at his hands, and realized that an amazing feeling was coursing through him. "Whoa," he said. He stood up on the building and jumped.
It was incredible! He went to shoot a web, but the moment he thought of the action, webbing shot from a white square on his hand. He didn't even actually move much more than having fun and doing tricks.
He overshot one web, and he missed the building he was going for, instead grabbing onto the edge of the building that was blocks ahead of the one he was going for.
At least, that was the plan. When he grabbed onto the edge, it broke. The pieces still stuck to his fingers and the rest fell. He saw some larger pieces were about to land on the sidewalk, where civilians were walking. He shot a web that attached itself to the building. He turned to face the ground and continued shooting the same strand of webbing down to catch the pieces.
He swung around the piles of debris and let go, shooting it upwards. He grabbed onto it and was pulled into the air with it. He threw the debris onto a nearby rooftop, and shot a web that he pulled onto a building.
He smiled and looked at his arms. "This is new," he said in awe.
Suddenly, a slot opened up in the wall of the building. What came out was a robot. It had a round, spherical body, with a screen on it towards the top. The screen flickered on, and Spider-Man saw a familiar face.
"Hello, Spider-Man," said Alistair, "I hope you remember me."
"Oh, yeah, you were at the warehouse, experimenting on the symbiote," Spider-Man said casually, crossing his arms and leaning against the side of the building.
Alistair turned to face someone offscreen, saying "Sir, he has turned the symbiote into a suit somehow."
"How?" said the Kingpin's voice.
"I'm not sure. Perhaps he's it's host?"
"Then we will remove it from his body. It'd be better for us all if it was a corpse instead."
"Yes sir," Alistair said, "I'm sorry, Spider-Man, but we need what you're wearing."
"That sounds very weird."
Suddenly, multiple, tentacle-like arms came from the side of the robot's body. They wrapped themselves around Spider-Man, and threw him.
"Whoa!" he said as he flew through the air.
"My name is Alistair Smythe, Spider-Man," Alistair said through the screen, "and this is a robot I have designed specifically to defeat you. I call it," the arms readied themselves to attack, "my Spider-Slayer!"
The arms attacked, shooting themselves at Spider-Man, who ducked, jumped, and went to the side to dodge them. Multiple shot at him, but he caught them right as they were about to land. "Whoa!" he said in shock. "This suit is awesome!" He shoved the arms he was holding into the wall, webbing them in place once he did so. He leapt off the wall and dodged all of the arms that attacked him. He landed, but felt something moving at his feet.
"Oh, boy," he said, moving to jump, but the arms tightened around his feet. More arms grabbed onto him, wrapping around his arms and torso.
"Look at you!" Smythe laughed. "The Amazing Spider-Man! Trapped by an ordinary person in a wheelchair!"
"Yeah, some victory!" Spider-Man said as he struggled. "You needed the help of a robot to do it!"
"A victory is a victory, Spider-Man," Smythe said, pointing multiple arms at him. "Now, this won't hurt a lot if you haven't been attached for too long. But I will, of course, have to kill you afterwards."
Tiny slots opened at the end of the arms, and it shot something out. Something that wasn't physical, or ammo of some kind. But when it touched him, Spider-Man felt like his entire body was on fire. The suit reacted even worse, weakening and falling off, becoming like liquid. When his ears were exposed, he realized it was sound. The suit was weak to sound, and it had been blocking the sounds from his ears.
Adrenaline came to the rescue as he tore apart the arms that were holding him in place, shooting a web that took him away. He hid as the suit regained its strength, but the Spider-Slayer came ripping the wall open. "This robot works by tracking spider DNA," Smythe said, "In other words, you can't hide from me."
Spider-Man leapt to the side as the arms attacked him, and ran to the edge of the building. He had an idea. "Didn't you hear what I just said?" Smythe said, annoyed. Spidey kept running and web swinging. All the way to the Washington Bridge. The Spider-Slayer kept following, not letting Spidey out of its sight. He climbed all the way to the top of the bridge, and waited for the Slayer to come.
"Quit running!" Smythe said angrily.
"Alright," Spider-Man said once he was right where he wanted. The Spider-Slayer shot it's arms at Spider-Man, ready to catch him, but Spidey bent over backwards, catching the arms when they were over him.
"What?" Smythe said, confused. He wasn't expecting this.
Spider-Man took a deep breath. He hoped the suit gave him enough strength to do what he was planning to do. He performed a backflip, pulling the Slayer towards him. When his legs were facing the ground, he kicked, not only breaking the Slayer in half, which he didn't expect, but pushing it down into the ocean. He shot a web and pulled himself back onto the bridge and sat for a couple of moments. "That was crazy," he breathed. It took less effort than he expected, but it was still difficult.
He tore off his mask and looked at it. "I'm telling Mr. Stark about you."
He now has the symbiote suit! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
