Song of the Chapter: Black Suited Spider-Man Goes To Church by Christopher Young

I own nothing but the story.

Eddie Brock was not having a good day.

It started with the field trip, which, while it was fun, made him slightly dislike Peter. Okay, really dislike. Why? Because while Peter had an amazing and fun father figure, in Tony Stark of all people, Eddie had a dad who only wanted him to grow up to be a criminal, like him. He didn't actually care about him. Heck, he hit him half of the time.

He was jealous. He wanted the amazing life Peter had.

The more and more he thought about it, the angrier he got. It wasn't fair.

And then there was after school.

That was when it really got bad.

His dad had taken him to see a deal being made between him and the Kingpin. Said that Eddie should learn what those things were like.

While the deal was being made, a robot carrying MJ came with Spider-Man right behind. Shortly after, Spider-Man started tearing through his dad's men. He was about to get his dad, but Eddie had picked up a gun and shot him. He didn't do it for his dad, but ever since his mom died, his dad was the only family he had. If he died, Eddie was stuck on the streets on his own, or worse.

And then Spider-Man attacked him. He had punched him across the face, breaking his jaw. He didn't stop there. He continued beating Eddie until his father intervened. He wanted the future of his criminal empire to be safe.

Spider-Man, the hero Eddie had looked up to for so long attacked him without mercy, hitting him so hard that he broke his jaw.

It hurt like crazy, and had knocked Eddie out.

He was woken up later by a loud noise. It didn't wake up anyone else, which made him fear they were dead, but he didn't really care. While everyone was distracted, Eddie left the building.

Now, he was in a church. He wanted to ask God something. Something only God could give him.

God, he prayed in his head, I pray for a better life. For the one that Parker has. And a way out of the one that I have.

~Meanwhile~

Spider-Man was at the top of a church.

He looked at his hands. The same ones that had nearly killed a man. He took off his mask and looked at it. The symbiote. It had done this. He looked into a window in the rain and saw his reflection. His once light brown hair was now pitch black. The symbiote had changed him. Into something he wasn't. He pulled the mask back on and jumped from his perch. He fell to an opening. He landed on it and looked at the bell in front of him.

He had to get rid of it.

He aimed a punch at the bell and threw it, but the symbiote launched tendrils that stuck to the wall behind him. He pulled, but it wouldn't let him. He pulled again as hard as he could, this time taking the wall with him. He hit the bell, the pieces of the wall hitting it as well. The symbiote screeched.

No! Please!

Spider-Man didn't listen. He struck the bell again. His entire body was on fire. He realized just then that he had gotten so attached to the suit that this just might kill him. He shook his head. He didn't care. He had to destroy the symbiote.

He hit his fist against the bell again. The symbiote grew weak, falling off of him. He pulled at it, trying to get it off. He screamed in agony as he ripped it off.

Please! It hurts! We -

Peter drowned out the voice in his head. He continued ripping off pieces. His vision grew dark as he took the suit off. His chest was bare now. The rest of the suit stopped resisting so much. It had grown incredibly weak. What Peter was doing was killing it.

Please … don't … we only …

Peter hit the bell more. He suspected that he wasn't going to be conscious much longer. The pain was too much.

The rest of the symbiote fell off of him, leaving him on the top of the tower, alone and dying.

~At the beginning of that ordeal~

Eddie heard the bell ringing. He tried to frown, but his jaw hurt like crazy when he tried. The bell wasn't supposed to ring right now, was it?

He got out of the pew and walked towards the bell. He looked up and saw someone up there. They were with something black and slimy. The face came into view as the person struggled and screamed in agony.

It was Peter.

Eddie was confused. What was Peter doing up there? Suddenly, a drop of what Peter was struggling with fell down. It landed in front of Eddie, who went down on one knee to get a closer look at it. Suddenly, it moved towards him, grabbing onto his shoe. It grew and expanded, consuming his body.

Eddie screamed in terror. It didn't hurt, but it was strange, and he didn't know if it was dangerous.

More came falling down. All of the pieces grabbed onto Eddie, who screamed, but was silenced as it covered his mouth. His body flailing and convulsing, the black ooze covered his body.

The last of it fell, and soon, he was just looking at darkness.

The light came back, and he smiled.

It felt good.

So, uh, yeah. From Google Docs, it looks like it might be a pretty short chapter, but it was fun to write, and I think the writing kind of makes up for the lack of length.
