"It says here to activate the Moonstone, you need to say these words," Varian said, "But what do they mean?"
"Your guess is as good as mine," Cassandra said, "The first time I heard the incantation, Raps recited it and her hair turned black."
"Blonde hair turning black," Varian said, making a note of that, "You don't say."
"But I do. I saw it," Cassandra said, "And that damn incantation ruined my hand!"
Varian looked up at Cassandra. "May I see your hand?" he asked, "Maybe there's something I can whip up to fix it."
Cassandra pulled her hand back. "It's fine, Varian. Don't worry about me."
"You're hurt, I don't quite understand the Moonstone's power, and I'm trying my best to help out. If you don't want it, you can leave."
Cass reluctantly gave Varian her hand. "Fine," she said, "Take a stab at it."
Varian blushed as he took her hand. Something within him wanted to kiss it, but the saying that kissing an injury cures it Varian knew was only a myth.
"What are you using to make something to heal my hand?" Cassandra asked.
"Do you need to know the ingredients?" Varian said, "Just trust in me that this'll work."
"Coming from you, you say 'trust' like it's nothing," Cassandra said.
"Shit!" Varian cursed aloud, "J-just imagine how this will work. How's that?"
"Sure, sure," Cassandra said, "I'll 'imagine' the hell out of it!"
"That's the spirit!" Varian said, "Just a little more and I think I've got it! Say hello to my newest creation: Cassandrium! It's kinda like Flynnolium, but named after you!"
"Really, Varian?" Cassandra said.
Varian chuckled. "It's a work in progress. So let's try it, shall we?"
"How are you so certain this'll work?" Cassandra asked.
"I'm not!" Varian exclaimed, "But you, my dear, will be my experimenter!"
"Very funny, Varian," she said.
"No, I'm serious," Varian said, "Let's test it out! I'm so excited to see what it does! I'm thinking it should heal your hand, but we'll see."
He poured the chemical mixture on Cassandra's hand. "That's a lot of damage," Varian said.
"Ya think?" Cass said.
"Never mind that," Varian said, chuckling nervously. "Now we wait."
A minute later, the alchemist's creation started to react.
"My hand!" Cassandra exclaimed, "Thank you, Varian!"
"What did I tell you?" Varian said, "Trust goes a long way."
"Now that you've helped me, I can help you," Cass said.
"No, that's not necessary," Varian said, "There are just some things that are meant to be done alone."
