When Eugene returned however, his daughters and Rapunzel were gone.
"I'm afraid you're too late," Lance said.
"Too late for what? What happened in all the time I was gone?"
"Rapunzel, Alka, and Bandit were put in separate rooms," Lance explained, "Her father says the 'curse' is getting stronger."
"Dammit," Eugene said, "Why wasn't I there when she needed me the most?" He ran to go find Rapunzel and his two daughters.
Eugene searched high and low for his family, but wasn't having any luck until he realised that there were some rooms he hadn't checked.
"Rapunzel?" Eugene said, "Oh my God! Rapunzel, you're OK!"
"Wouldn't say OK, Dad," Alka said, "Where were you?"
"In the Dark Kingdom," Eugene replied, "I was unable to control the urge to go complete my destiny."
"And what took you so long?" Alka asked, "Because all this dang time I've been comforting Bandit as if you were there!"
"Alka, I'm sorry," Eugene said.
"Save it," she said, "I know what you really wanted to do. You wanted to destroy the Moonstone without giving it a second thought that Mom has been suffering the curse of the Moonstone this whole time!"
"What can I do to make it up to you girls?" Eugene asked.
"Be there for us and promise to never run off again," Alka said.
"Yes, sweetheart," he said to his daughter.
