Chapter 41 AKA. The Epilogue

When his parent show up My Girl by the Temptations is playing loud enough to be heard everywhere in the house. His wife is in the kitchen singing and dancing while she's unpacking their boxes of kitchen supplies. You know, appliances, dishes, glasses, cutlery.

Seth's in the living room directing the movers on where the couches should go. Both Sierra and Sebastian are penned in the kitchen with Escobar and Sabrina, so both the kids and the cat don't get stuck under something, get in the way or get hurt. Escobar isn't really penned in, he could jump that baby cat no problem, except he won't.

Sabrina was clear that Escobar would stay with the children

As soon as Les is there with Lily Seth is moving towards him for a hug. His dad asks where he's needed, Seth would love him there in the living room, as he wants to start moving the baby stuff into what will be the baby's room, and then Sierra's stuff into what will be her room.

His mom goes to the kitchen to spend time with her grandkids and to see if Sabrina needs any help.

He gets a few boxes up to the second floor when Sabrina comes up with another box.

"Babe, I told you… no heavy lifting."

"I'm not on bed rest anymore," she reminds him and he rolls his eyes. That was true, the doctors all said she was fine but Seth didn't really believe it. After how active she had been on her actual bed rest he had doubts about how well she was.

"You know very well that I put you on bed rest," he says and her smile widens, that sexy smirk that has him grinning right back at her.

"Well… if you're parents weren't here… you could… put me back in bed."

It was as suggestive as it could get and if the tone hadn't conveyed that the flirtatious smirk on his wife's face did. Seth was already grinning, cause he could never spend too much time in bed with his wife.

He tugged her close to him, being sure to kiss her. The kind of searing kiss that conveyed just how badly he wanted he wanted to take her to their room and just… throw her down onto their bed and how he might have if his parents weren't just downstairs and they didn't need to unpack a whole two-bedroom apartment's worth of stuff. After a few minutes of kissing his wife separates from him.

"Are you ready to go get more boxes?" she asks as she's heading back to the stairs.

"I told you, Reenie," he says as they head towards the stairs. "No heavy lifting."

She's not even facing him but he can basically feel her roll her eyes at him as she says: "Yes, Dear," in the most patronizing tone ever.

When he gets back downstairs, his dad is organizing furniture in a way that we won't like, but I'm sure I'll be able to move it later. Once he was gone so he didn't complain.

Sabrina goes to climb over the baby gate as there are two kids and a cat waiting to make a mad dash to escape when she opens it, which means Seth follows her to make sure she doesn't fall. She holds his hand as she completes the high step over. Once she's safely on the other side, he hands her another box of kitchen stuff and then go back to putting the boxes of stuff for the living room and dining room in their respective rooms so he can make unpacking easier.

"Hey all!" Ashley cries as she walks into the house. "I brought the muscle, and the pizza."

Her two daughters come rushing in, forgetting to kick off their shoes too busy heading towards Sabrina and their two cousins, which objectively are their favourite people. Ashley had to call them back to the door, not that either Seth or Sabrina cared about dirt at that moment. The movers had probably tracked in so much more than those two little girls did.

But Ashley has them take off their boots and coats, before sending them off to where their Aunt, cousins and grandma are.

Both Seth and Les move right away to pick them up and deposit them on the other side of the baby gate so neither small child nor cat could escape. Though seriously, Escobar could have totally made that jump, he just didn't want to.

Her husband, the muscle obviously, came in after, pulling Seth in for a bro hug.

"What do you want me to help you move first?"

"We have a lot to take upstairs," Seth tells him and he nods to him.

With the extra help finally there the moving finally picked up.

With Ashley's husband's help Seth managed to move all the heavy stuff up to the second floor. The bed frames, the mattresses, the dressers and desk for the office space. They took a break for pizza and beer, before tackling the heavy stuff that was going to go downstairs. Like the second couch and the billiards table and the other TV.

Once everything was moved, once all the boxes were inside the men got to sit down in the newly minted man cave in the basement.

They got to watch what was left of the game that was on that night, with the leftover pizza and cold beers.

The women stayed upstairs, going over all the vision boards Sabrina had for all the rooms. This included color schemes and how she wanted to decorate and set up the furniture depending on the what the room was meant for. The kids stayed in their kitchen playpen playing together with all the toys that had been left there, while Escobar, who decided he didn't want to be in that chaos, watched from the kitchen counter.

When it was time for bed, Sabrina called Seth so they could say goodbye to everyone.

The newly-moved family thanked everyone for coming and helping. Their departing family members thanked them for their hospitality and the food and the beer, and then Sabrina with Sebastian in her arms, and Seth with Sierra on his hip waved until they couldn't see the family's cars anymore.

Then it was time for bed.

For the little ones anyway.

Seth and Sabrina happily tag-team the getting the children ready for bed. Sabrina had Sierra in the bathtub, Seth had Sebastian's bath in the sink. Sabrina gets Sebastian changed, Seth does Sierra. Sabrina gets Sierra in bed, Seth puts Sebastian in his crib, then they changed places for kisses good-night

Then, with Escobar in the hallway standing watching for them, the two adults went downstairs.

It was originally to clean but the two of them quickly got distracted, kissing and what not. Started by Sabrina who had reached out to smack his butt while he was organzing the boxes they would dig into tomorrow.

That in turn had Seth pinching her own bottom, which turned into a tickling fight, which turned into kissing which turned into him shoving his wife against the counter and Sabrina practically jumping up to wrap her legs around him.

Seth really couldn't keep his hands off of his wife, no more than she could keep her hands off of him.

A quicky in the kitchen had them tired, but they both manage to clean what they need to clean and then they too are heading to bed.

"It's a sure sign that we're old when our bedtime is 9pm, huh?" Seth asks as he heads for the stairs.

He gets an absent mhmm from his wife and he realizes then that she's not with him. He turns and finds her rooting through one of the boxes they have in the living room.

Tomorrow they'll really start on unpacking and decorating. Deciding on what colors they want the rooms to be, because he already knows that his wife wants to paint.

Making this house theirs.

He smiles when he sees what's in her hands and then patiently waits for her to catch up. When she does the two of them walk up the stairs together.

The both stop to pet Escobar who is still in the hallway between Sierra's bedroom and Sebastian's nursery. Escobar is better at letting Seth pet him now but he doesn't get to nearly as much as Sabrina does.

Seth moves right away to get into his pjs, which he fully plans to just be a pair of his sweatpants while Sabrina goes about setting the carousel on the dresser beside their wedding photo which he put up earlier that day.

The carousel that started it all. The carousel that got them back together again.

She winds it up and very soon the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy starts to play. The second it does they both start to hum along, it's subconscious but it happens. By the time it winds down she's changed into her pjs which is one of his shirts and a pair of pink pajama pants.

She turns to him with that happy smile of hers that just melts his heart and he can't help but smile to her.

"Play it again for me," he tells her and she immediately turns to wide up the musical carousel again.

When she turns back he's rounded the bed and immediately pulls her into his arms.

As the carousel that brought them together again plays it's tune, Seth is kissing his wife, the mother of his children, the love of his life and she kisses him back.

They eventually end up falling back into bed, ready for round two. A round that will be more attentive to both their needs then their quickie downstairs.

Both Seth and Sabrina are happy. Like Happily Ever After happy. And to think. It never would have happened if it hadn't been for that Carousel in his dad's Pawnshop.
