The story begins in Randy's sophomore year of high school, a lot has changed over the summer. First there's Randy himself who, due to his extensive physical activities as the ninja, has gained some serious muscle definition. He was not bulked by any means, but he was extremely lean and had very noticeable muscles, however, they are covered by his typical red tank top and baggy unzipped jacket he still likes to wear. He also grew in height as well, reaching about Bash's stature. Howard hasn't changed much over the summer though only growing about an inch or two height wise and still staying his lovable pudgy self. Instead of his regular squid shirt is replaced with a black t-shirt with the letters HW on it along with his trademark blue jacket. Instead of his plain shorts as well are replaced with blue jeans.

Not only were there physical changes between the boys, but they also had a change of personality too, well at least Randy had. Over the course of the summer Randy had begun to take being the ninja a lot more seriously than he had before. His whole skillset had noticeably improved taking down monsters and robots a lot more efficiently than before, the true meaning behind the nomicon's words came a lot quicker to him, and he had become much more wiser due to it. But because of his more serious attitude, Randy as a person had begun to change as well. Gone was the constant craving for attention that he used to thrive for and replaced was a very quiet person who mostly kept to himself and tried his best not to draw attention to himself believing it would not help with the whole secret identity thing if he had just acted like a shoob to the school the entire time. And while Howard was still the same attention loving fun ball he's always been it was clear that Randy hasn't really been interested in fame or popularity for some time now.

Still, despite it all the two were as inseparable as ever and were ready to begin their new school year with a fresh start.

"So Cunningham, are you ready to get your butt whooped on the new grave puncher 7 yet?" Howard said as he and Randy walked down the hall before school had started yet.

"Man you really like losing don't you Howard?" Randy said. "But come on man school hasn't even started yet let alone end aren't you excited about anything else?"

"Nuh-uh man. You know how this school is! Even without all the wonky mystical sorcery going around, there's still the unbelievable work load, barley editable food, and all the shnasty stuff going on there ain't no way I'm excited about anything for this year. That and you're gone half the time anyway doing ninja stuff" Howard whispered the last part as he had gotten better about not being so loud with the ninja talk.

"Yeah I guess you're right the school does have some pretty shnasty stuff going on" Randy shuddered remembering Principle Slimovitz in a diaper. But he also thought about Howard's other point and how he was right on that too. (shocker I know). The school year always did bring more work for the ninja since this is where the sorcerer laid hidden and all the school drama most definitely helped him stank up a lot more students.

As Randy was lost in thought thinking about all of the extra ninja work he would have to do this year, as he turned the corner he just had to bump into the school's resident bully, Bash, talking with his girlfriend Heidi. That was another thing, during the last month of summer Bash had asked Heidi out and of course with his influence and popularity she said yes. Both Howard and Randy were not happy about being targeted during both school and Howard's own house believed them. Bash looked about the same as he always has even as he moved to junior year. Heidi looked a bit different though, her hair was now longer and she sometimes wore it in a ponytail now. Her clothes had also changed as well since now she was seen sporting her rocker outfit (the one she wore at the concert) as her typical attire. It looked good on her Randy would think to himself a lot.

"Great just my luck, maybe if I just play it off everything will be ok." Randy thought as he dusted himself off. "Sorry about that Bash" he apologized and made a move to exit. But of course Bash had other plans and as Randy was walking away Bash punched him square in the cheek. The punch hadn't really hurt and only staggered Randy a little which was natural after taking so many beatings by things much tougher than a junior high school student, but it was a bad sign for things to come.

"Hey this loser just bumped into me, now how about I show you my best pals Mr. Knuckles and , or maybe this one's Mr. Knuckles and this one is Mrs. Sandwich" Bash said already getting confused as to which names he gave to each fist. Randy just rolled his eyes at the stupidity but he braced himself for what was to come since he couldn't just beat Bash down, (no matter how badly he wanted to), as that would draw too much attention towards himself.

"Uh hey sis aren't you gonna you know stop your crazy boyfriend" Howard whispered over to Heidi. Over the corner of Randy's eye he glanced towards Heidi to see her reaction, she must have had the same thought as she glanced towards Randy at the same time. For the briefest of moments their eyes met before Heidi turned away with what looked to be a hint of shame on her face.

"AHA, now I got it, let me show you my knuckle sandwich! Ha pure gold" Bash yelled as he put his hands in a double axe handle position. But before Bash could properly connect the school bell had started ringing signifying the start of the very first day of school. "Huh, you're lucky my ma said no new prank toys if I was late on the first day, but don't worry you're gonna be my new 'best friend' all year round HAHAHA" Bash laughed as he wrapped his arm around Heidi and led them away. Before Heidi was out of view though she turned and looked back on more time and for the second time their eyes met before she turned away again.

"Ugh that shoob Bash, it's bad enough he comes over to my house and now he's never gonna leave us alone. Well more so you Cunningham but I still might be caught in the blast zone" Howard whined at the unfortunate turn of events.

"Yeah I can't believe Heidi started dating a no-brain shoob like Bash" Randy said angrily.

"I can, sista would go low to upp that popularity and dating the most popular guy in school probably helps that"

"Come on Howard I've known Heidi almost as long as you have and even I can say she can do way better than Bash.

"Hmm maybe you're right Cunningham, then again that moldy piece of bologna in the back of the fridge I had last night could probably do better than Bash"

"Why did you- nevermind I don't want to hear the story let's just get to class" Randy said as he and Howard began to walk in their first class.

LINE BREAK

It was the third period and lunch was next and Randy could not wait for Lunch time to begin since he had to skip breakfast in the morning just to make it to school on time. Randy already knew he and Howard didn't share this class together after reviewing both their schedules which just made it extra boring too. As Randy walked in though he was surprised to find out that while one Weinerman wasn't in the class, the other was.

"Ah Mr. Cunningham I presume" the teacher started "why don't you take a seat next to Heidi over there" Randy simply nodded and walked over to his assigned seat and sat down. He saw that Heidi was, once again, glancing at him. Deciding to be polite he turned, smiled, and sent a small wave her way. She just huffed and turned away from him ignoring him entirely. A little dejected Randy rested his head on his extended hand and turned to try and pay attention to the typical first day classroom greetings.

After class had finished, Randy decided to meet up with Howard for lunch time, but something seemed to be wrong with him as he kept groaning and moaning in pain.

"Oohh Cunningham you were right, that bologna is NOT sitting well with me" Howard said as he was just about ready to puke all over the floor.

"I don't think I need to tell you eating moldy food in general is a bad idea, but whatever. You should probably head to the nurse here come on" Randy said as he led Howard to the nearest nurse's office.

As Randy and Howard made it to the nurse's office, the nurse led Howard inside while Randy waited out. A couple of minutes later Howard came out with a pass in his hand.

"So what did the nurse have to say?"

"She said that I had to go home, which is fine by me Cunningham, nothing goes on in the first day of school anyway. But I am gonna have to have you tell my sis that I'm leaving home early."

"And you can't do it because?

"Because she has my number perpetually blocked and I am far too injured to walk all the way to the lunchroom, come on Cunningham that's like a full staircase away!"

Randy sighed "Fine whatever, have fun being on the toilet all day."

Howard grumbled, but then smiled and high fived Randy as he walked towards the exit to the school.

Randy made his way towards the cafeteria and tried to spot where Heidi was. Eventually he was able to find her near the back of the lunchroom and it looked like she wasn't with Bash this time since he was off probably tormenting some poor kid. That was good for Randy since he did not feel like dealing with Bash during his one totally free period.

"Hey Heidi." Randy said as he made his way over to the table with her group of friends.

"What do you want Blandy?" Heidi said as she looked annoyed having been interrupted from whatever they were talking about beforehand.

"Randy Heidi it's Randy literally known you my whole life"

"Whatever just what do you want?"

"Aww come on Heidi no need to be mean to one of your friends" Cass Simonson said

"Eww I am not friends with him as if he's just my weird brother's shoob friend" Heidi exclaimed in disgust.

Randy simply just rolled his eyes at the scene. "Standing right here ya know"

"Whatever now, what do you want Rudy?"

Randy sighed in exacerbation before starting, "Just wanted to let you know Howard had to leave school early for eating some moldy food yesterday"

"Ugh I told that shoob that it was a bad idea to eat that piece of bologna, anything else you need to tell me?"

"No that was just about it-" Randy started but was quickly cut off as what seemed to be milk poured on top of his head. Randy turned around already knowing who was behind the "prank".

"Well well look who's trying to make a move on my girl" Bash said as he started cracking his knuckles trying to look intimidating. Randy simply looked as disinterested as ever when it comes to Bash. "Looks like I gotta teach this sophomore nobody some stuff about uh, umm STUFF" Bash once again was lost in his own confusion.

Randy once again glanced towards Heidi to see if she would even bother trying to clear up this obvious misunderstanding. And it actually looked like she was gonna speak up, but before she had the chance a stanked out version of Bucky crashed straight through the walls of the cafeteria.

Students immediately began scrambling and screaming in terror as Bucky went on a rampage across the room.

"Looks like it's show time" Randy thought as he ran behind the lunch lady's counter to find a safe space to suit up. Once he was in the clear Randy quickly took out his mask and put it on as the suit enveloped him as the ninja of Norrisville.

The ninja made his appearance by smoke bombing into the middle of Bucky holding up flute girl reading some kind of note. Quickly Randy used his scarf to grab the flute girl out of harm's way. This only seemed to make Bucky madder though as he began charging at the ninja. Randy put her down and began running up on the walls to the ceilings and once he was right above Bucky he quickly jumped down and landed a devastating elbow right on top of Bucky's head.

"Mind telling me what happened here?" Randy said to flute girl as he was dodging and weaving his way through Bucky's aimless swings.

"Ugh all I told him was that his stupid 'first day of school love letter' was unnecessary and pointless" she responded back to him.

"Mind telling me where exactly that letter is?"

"I think down the hall over there through the wall he came through." Randy glanced towards where she was pointing at and saw the letter towards the end of the hall on the floor. Immediately the ninja made a b-line towards the letter with Bucky following suit. However, as Bucky tried going through the wall he first came through, Randy acted fast throwing a couple of sticky bombs towards Bucky, as they went off a very strong adhesive substance stuck to the stanked out monster trapping him where he was.

Randy quickly took this opportunity to grab the note and cut it clean in half. Almost right away the stank left Bucky as he was left in a daze over what just happened.

"Wow ninja that was just so Bruce! Ninja?" Heidi said as she was filming the whole thing, but as she turned to look at where the ninja used to be, he was gone. "Weird the ninja always likes announcing all his moves and smoke bombs, but he barely said a word this time" Heidi thought to herself finding the ninja's silence a little off.

"All right, school seeing how the monster attack has jarred and rattled some of our precious students. We will be ending school for the day" the principal exclaimed which was met with a large amount of cheers before students started rushing towards the exit.

"Uh guys, mind anyone helping….guys?" Bucky says as he was still stuck to the wall the ninja trapped him in.
