All seems Normal in the land of water, but a violent tension is building underneath the waves. The bloodline clans are viewed as too strong, and the general consensus is that they are better off dead. The fourth Mizukage, Yagura has put forth new policies that clearly outline differences in treatment for clan ninja and civilian born ninja. The signs are all there, and soon, a civil war unlike any other will shake Kiri's foundations.

Haku, using memories of his previous life, had been planning for the Kiri civil war his entire life. From becoming #1 in the academy, making the ultimate sacrifice by killing his partner to graduate, and displaying his Hyoton, every step was carefully crafted to portray himself as a valuable asset to Kirigakure. He had already noticed the shifts in Yagura's behavior, indicating that Obito had already put Yagura under his control.

Now 15 years old, Haku had fought in countless battles, killed hundreds of enemies, and lost parts of his own humanity to rise through the ranks quickly, all in pursuit of becoming a hunter-nin.

Having recently been promoted to one, he could not be happier. Hunter-nin often leave the village for multiple months at a time in order to capture missing-nin. Long missions to capture well-known missing-nin would be the perfect excuses to leave Kirigakure for long periods of time and gain the necessary connections to become a Konoha ninja.

His ultimate goal, of course, is to become the jonin sensei of team 7. From there, he would have 3 of the most promising ninja in the elemental nations to train, and later, join him in his cause.

Recently, there have been sightings of wolves towering higher than buildings, all reported to be in the mountains of the land of snow. While most shinobi have dismissed these sightings as baseless rumors, Haku has suspicions that the secret summoning grounds of the wolf summons are contained somewhere inside the mountains. Obtaining a summoning contract would be his first step towards Konoha, as well as extra insurance in case the civil war got ugly.

When summoned in a non-combat scenario, summons are required to behave impartially and always tell the truth. Obtaining a summoning contract would make the transition into Konoha far smoother than without one.

As cover for obtaining the wolf summoning contract, Haku had requested to hunt down a B rank missing-nin named Sekibayashi, whose last sighting was in the land of snow. His current order to visit the Mizukage's office is definitely related to his request.

Striding into Yagura's office, he quickly knelt on the ground, awaiting the fourth Mizukage's orders. Yagura had never taken disrespect kindly in the past, and with Obito manipulating him, any signs of disloyalty could get him killed.

"Rise Haku", Yagura commanded. He loosened his grasp on his staff as the youngest hunter-nin is kirigakure rose in a swift movement. "You do not have to be so tense, I have called you here to inform you that your request has been accepted. Your documents have been filled out, and you will be able to leave the village for up to 3 months.

"Thank you, Yagura-sama", Haku replied as he slowly and cautiously walked towards the exit.

"I will not fail", he said and nervously body-flickered away.

Still shaking and nervous from his meeting with the fourth Mizukage, Haku made his way back to his modest apartment on the edge of kirigakure. Plopping down Lazily into his chair, he sighed and immediately began coming up with a list of necessary objectives. After an hour of deliberation, Haku decided on the 3 most vital goals to be met in the next 3 months.

1. Establish a home base on the mainland, in case the situation in Kiri deteriorates too fast to return safely.

2. Obtain a wolf summoning contract, as it would help him survive in the short term, and benefit his long term goals to be met in Konoha.

3. Become connected/befriend Jiraiya of the Sannin, as he would serve as a valuable ally and his ticket into Konoha.

(During this period of cannon, Jiraiya is traveling throughout the world, so chances are high that he would come to visit the land of snow in the following 3 month period. Haku is betting on those odds.)

After finishing his plans, Haku promptly fell into bed, shivering and excited from the knowledge that his last 10 years had been worth the pain. He had finally reached the starting line.
