Chapter 2: Catch-up
Have we ever had this much free time together without having to worry at all about being killed? I can't even remember the last time I didn't have to worry about some dark demon or ape trying to rip off my limbs. Well, I'm just glad that right now, me and Cynder can actually live as normal teenage dragons. Flying around, playing games and being just as wide as we can possibly be to each other. Trying to make each other fly into a tree or getting wet in the river, and anything else that can annoy the dragon. We started just being normal dragons. After waking up around midday, we just played, laughed and just enjoyed ourselves for once. However, the worst part was that time had decided to speed up so quick that what felt like only a quarter of a day turned into half a day. With the sun setting we decided to find a place where we could sleep for the night as well as our food.
We managed to find a cave along the cliff side which offered enough protection from the elements if the weather decided to take a turn for the worst. I went off to find a sheep in the valley to have as our meal for the night whilst Cynder went to find some firewood to allow us to cook the piece of lamb that I have hunted. By the time I had managed to find and kill a sheep to bring back its meat, the sun was just over the cliff wall allowing for a sea of purple, red and orange mixing with each other. Once I had landed by the cave, a glow of an orange flame could be seen which was still small and young, with Cynder's black scales absorbing most of the colour of the flames, but still reflecting a dull orange colour.
"That's one hell of a sheep you managed to catch there!" commented Cynder shocked, but also enthusiastically
"Well, as we have literally flown the entire time since we awakened, we would need some serious fuel for us to recharge." I replied
"So how long do you think it will need?"
"Probably until the sun is just poking up from the cliff wall."
"And that's using your fire breath?"
"Yep"
As I had finally restored all my energy throughout the day finding more green crystals to absorb their energy, I released a straight flame of elemental fire allowing for the piece of the lamb to be cooked in a fairly fast time frame. Since I couldn't talk whilst breathing fire, it allowed me to think of questions of things that I wanted to know about Cynder. How long has she had these thoughts for me? Was it from the moment that I had saved her from the collapsing portal? Or was it from somewhere else? I know for myself that it was from the moment that she turned from the evil adult dragoness to just a lookalike dragon to myself but just with black scales and a feminine body.
***Flashback***
Just after defeating the darkness infused Cynder, Spyro realised that her physical form was changing. Changing from her adult, powerful form into a dragon about the same height, width and at the time, looked like the same age. However, the portal that she had opened to allow the dark master of Malefore to return started to suck everything from rocks to the two dragons as well as Spyro's foster brother firefly Sparx into the portal.
"Dude we've got to get out of here... now!" stated Sparx with fear.
"I can't leave her behind... I've got to save her." Spyro replied with a serious and caring tone.
"What? Save the beast that has been trying to kill us?"
"That wasn't her fault... she was being used by the Dark Master!"
At this point with her body sucked into the portal, Spyro flies straight into the portal to try and save her from yet again being cursed even further by the Dark Master of Malefore. Spyro picks up the unconscious body, and flies back out of the portal, now trying to get out with the range of the portals sucking capability.
***End of flashback***
The way I saved her was pretty crazy, but my life has been crazy, so it was expected to do an epic rescue at some point during a war, but through a portal? I could have never saw that coming. Anyway, the piece of lamb was pretty much cooked as best as I could, so I stop breathing my flame of fire to allow the checking of the meat itself. After looking at Cynder who looked mesmerized just by looking at the lamb, I came to the term that it was cooked to perfection.
Once she snapped out of her own daydream, she quickly blew a gust of wind to quickly cool the lamb to a temperature that was comfortable to eat. Finally, we split the lamb in half and started to dig in.
Now I don't know what it was about this lamb but my god it was good. A nice crispy skin with still plenty of juices within the meat. How could the guardians never cook this well? I should have just cooked all the time now knowing my secret talent. Oh, and there was way more meat than normal as the bones were some actually quite thin compared to an average piece of lamb.
Anyway, we both finished our bits of lamb, with the sun completely hidden behind the cliff face of the opposite side of the valley, only the mixture of pink, orange and red colours could be seen in the sky. Cynder started to slowly get closer and closer until our bodies are touching side by side looking up into the evening sky.
"Isn't it beautiful." commented Cynder looking up to the evening sky.
"Yes, it is. Reminds of the beautiful landscape up at Malefor's lair." I replied.
"Yeah, it does look quite like it."
"So... what's our plans for tomorrow then because I'm sure the guardians and Sparx will be worried about us."
"Well I was actually thinking about that as well."
"Come up with anything?"
"Well at first, I just wanted us to leave them all so it could just be us two living in harmony, but I also do believe that it is important to go back to the city of Warfang to meet up with the guardians."
"Well, I would have picked the first option if they didn't make it, but I feel we should at least let them know that we are fine and then maybe leave after a period of time."
"You know, that actually sounds pretty good, but what if they want us to teach young hatchlings as their mentors."
"We could just decline the offer, admit that we have had enough fighting in our life."
"Well considering we did defeat Malefor, I'm sure they would happily accept our opinion."
"I hope they do; I just want to relax for once, with my one and only."
We just looked into each other's eyes with passion and intent. As we slowly got closer, near the point where our noses were about to touch when suddenly... baaaaa. With the unexpected noise I jumped back hitting my head of the cave wall before falling over. That was my first proper intimate moment and a freaking sheep had to ruin it! And now she's laughing at me.
"My god Spyro, I've never seen you jump that badly before in my life!" she comments, trying to contain her laughter that kept slipping out.
"Alright, alright, simmer down. I just didn't expect it to be so loud." I replied trying to give a justification.
"Are you sure about it? I think you were just scared."
"Alright you..."
I tackled her, pinning her to the ground in annoyance with her continuing to laugh. So, what better way to turn her laughter of joy into mild torture by tickling her until she has lost full control of her body. So, I took both of my forepaws and started to lightly tickle her to keep her laughter getting louder and louder.
"Spyro... stop... please ah." she replies, barely able to string her words together with the sheer amount of laughter that she is screaming out to the world.
"This is the punishment you deserve!" I shouted back over her screaming in a playful way. I tickled her for a wee bit longer until I realised that she was starting to get to a position of being quite uncomfortable. Once I noticed this, I stopped tickling her and simply laid on top of her hearing her panting, allowing her to catch her breath. Just lying on top of her black scales, feeling every breath she makes, every heartbeat that pumps her blood around her body and finally the heat emitted from the depths of her body.
"Well that sure did escalate quite a bit there. You calmed down now." she replies, still with a sarcastic tone.
"You can say that again."
"Still, it's quite funny that you jumped that badly, especially when you are trying really hard to be intimate with me."
"When you do say it like that, it's not that surprising of why you laughed that hard."
"Yeah..." she states, losing her track of wording, and focussing on moving her wing to basically trap me, preventing me from leaving if I wanted to, which I did not want to at this moment and time. "Now, let's do this properly."
We both got even closer with our chests and noses touching, in the same position as before until the sheep decided to be the funniest animal in this entire valley. She sighs in relief, allowing for the feeling of her warm breath over my head and chest. I was just enjoying her breaths a little too much as she went in for the kiss whilst I was daydreaming. Needless to say, even though I was caught off guard, I still fully embraced it, feeling the warmth of her lips as they felt like silk.
We continued like this for a further period until she backed out, trying to catch her breath. Her cheeks were a clear red and she just giggled looking at me straight in my eyes. "Didn't realise how big your purple eyes were." she mentions, intently looking into them at all times.
"Well, I think your green eyes match you perfectly." I replied, just trying to keep us talking for a while.
"Really, I don't really know about that one Spyro.
"Well, I'm sure of it."
"Okay, I'll take your word then."
This time, I made the first move, but rather than just lips, I attempted to add in my tongue into the mix. I honestly expected her to be revolted and shove me right out of the warm cave but no. She opened her mouth and intermingled our tongues to create the most unique feeling in the world. Yes, it was fairly disgusting, but it was also really nice. We kept it up for a while longer until we finally stopped due to our struggle with breathing. With us both sweating, creating a lust infused smell, we both laid down next to the cave which by this time, the sun had fully set, allowing for the bright stars to shine through the sky.
"I just wish you could pause time and just make this moment last forever." Cynder commented.
"Well, I don't know how to do it anymore, and even then, it only really works for myself, well the times that I did use it."
"So essentially for you it would last near enough forever but for myself, it would just be as normal."
"From the things I've learned so far, pretty much."
"Well, you better learn a way to make our times like these last longer." she replies, with a grin on her face. "Because I've never felt more at ease with life now than ever."
"Well, I'm sure we can have plenty of days like these in the future."
"I know, it will just be prefect."
We snuggle in again, watching the skies knowing that there are no more dark forces in the skies like Wyverns and Dreadwings, able to just watch the stars glisten in the far distance. We never really get to truly acknowledge the stars beauty as we were typically watching the skies at night to keep a check on possible enemy ambushes. Some of the stars glistened with certain colours like orange and red. However, there was one star that stood out from the rest. A beautiful purple star that looked tiny and young was present in the far distance.
"Hey, you see that purple star way up in the distance. It is quite small." I mentioned.
"Hmmm... I'm not entirely sure if I can see it. Oh wait. Yeah, I can see it." she replies.
"It reminds me of us two, small and young."
"And special. A very rare and special combo."
"You sure are right. See the word rare, it reminds me of how lucky we are just to be alive, due to the raid on the Dragon Temple by the apes, destroying all of the dragon eggs except yours."
"Yeah. They probably just picked me because I had the darkest colour. Best representation of darkness..." she replies whilst losing her trail of words yet again "I just wish we could have seen another dragon, our age."
"Well, hopefully there are somewhere. Somewhere that is safe and secure."
"I hope so."
We sat by the entrance for a little longer, until our bodies really started to feel the effects of tiredness with us barely able to keep our eyes open. Eventually we looked at each other with our tired faces and nodded to go back into the cave. Whilst Cynder was collecting firewood, she picked up some bits of long grass to make a makeshift bed so that we didn't have to sleep on the hard rock surface as a wee bit of luxury. We slowly made our way to the bed where Cynder laid down first getting a good feel for the surface. Without any comment, she lifts her left wing to allow me to snuggle in. We eventually put our wings over each other to keep the heat in
"Well this is better than normal" she mentions.
"You sure are right."
"Remember when we had to sleep out during winter, that was a nightmare!"
"Let's just not remind ourselves of that."
"Yeah. Well we better sleep now. We've got a fair bit of flying to do."
"True."
"Night Spyro, love you."
"Love you too Cynder."
We gave each other a final kiss before dozing off to sleep. The amount that we did today was quite insane, since we had never ever had the time just to play around for once. And the intimate moments, they were quite something else from what I had expected it to be. Well now we must get ready for a bit of productivity tomorrow, as we had a fair bit of flying to do.
