Thank you for calling him bratty you really inspired this chapter

Congratulations! You have been born!

You have leveled up!

Hidden quest complete!

[Be born]

Reward: 10 bonus stats, 75 reputation with parent's.

This game was patronising. Why was there a quest for this? Not that he was complaining, free stat points were free stat points.

"I think the quest is quite fitting considering your vitality, you could have easily been stillborn. Then all this would have been pointless."

"Shut up, you…"

He was cold, so cold. Compared to the womb the world was freezing. He could see why babies would cry upon being born. While he hated to admit it, it was very comfortable in the womb. He refused to cry though, the midwife's probably had a shock thinking he actually was dead.

The light above was blinding and his whole world was bathed in white light. He could tell he was being held in a blanket. He had been ignoring his immediate surroundings instead opting to talk to Cera. Now that he had leveled up and used his bonus stats, he would hopefully not get killed by a mosquito biting him. Though it didn't change how pitiful his health was.

His stats would be okay if he didn't have his curse. He was half tempted to pour all his points into INT due to his genius modifier, but it brought up the same problem as before with dying to literally anything. He ended up putting as many points in CON as possible before throwing the rest in DEX.

While going through his stats, his vision had begun to clear up. He found himself in the arms of a beautiful yet sickly looking woman. Her hair and eyes were both silver yet her flesh was gaunt and clammy. She looked at him with the most loving smile and her eyes shone with life despite her obvious health problems.

"You can see me can't you. My little Leo."

So Leo is my name?

The woman that was mother spoke with absolute adoration for him, despite the strain it was causing for her.

Getting perks for reaching 100 reputation or affection was nice. If the one with his father was as good as this one was he would be off to as good a start as he could possibly be in his crippled state.

"I'm so sorry, Leo. I don't have much time left. Your mother will leave you soon but I will always be by your side. I promise."

Leo could feel tears leaking from his eyes. He had only just met the woman in front of him, but he could already say he loved her and he would miss her dearly.

Whomever had cursed his mother and by extension himself, would suffer immeasurable pain and he would make sure of it.

"I'll help you if I can." Cera's voice lacked its usual apathy. While you couldn't say it was filled with emotions, it certainly showed she was moved by the scene in front of her.

"Really? That's surprising. Thank you then."

"Shut up, boy. When i was created I had all the knowledge about these kinds of things shoved into my mind. But to experience a mothers love up close… It's different."

"Are you jealous?"

Reward: 5000 xp upon reaching age 5.

Reward: 10000xp and upon reaching age 10.

Reward: 15000xp, 1 gacha token, [Powerful Artifact] upon reaching age 15.

The quest was good. 30000 free xp would put him over level 12, upgrading his racial perk along with receiving his powerful artifact that he paid for.

"It's hard for me to give you quests as good as this. Quests can usually only be issued for threats and objectives. But you're an invalid so I was able to pull some strings."

"Thanks… Do you have to insult me though?"

"Just be grateful, boy."

Sobs brought him back to reality. Leo looked up at the beautiful smile of his mother while tears streamed from her eyes. She held him with such care.

He reached his own short stubby arms up, attempting to embrace her. Katarina seemed to understand his intentions as she brought him up into her own chest. Her sobs growing in volume.

"I'm sorry. Your father will protect you till you grow strong."

Who was his father? He was obviously a Fallen. For now that didn't matter. All he cared about was the embrace of the woman in front of him.

Leo didn't know how long he lay there in his mothers arms. Before long he felt himself being picked up by a pair of strong male hands and being turned to face his 'captor'.

His heart almost stopped right there as he looked up into the deep violet eyes of a man with black hair, gold bangs and a black goatee.

Azazel, a 12 wing Fallen and leader of the Grigori, was looking down on him with a sad smile.

Leo barely managed to calm himself down enough to use [Observe] on the man in front of him. Though he got little information from it, probably due to their strength difference.

Azazel, Governor General of the Grigori

Race: Fallen Angel

Level: ?

HP: ?

MP: ?

Does that mean..?!

"Hello, little Leo." Azazel spoke to him in a manner similar to that of his mother. His eyes boring into his own.

Azazel seemed to recognise the understanding in his own eyes and his smile gained a bit of mirth. "You're special aren't you?"

"He is destined for greatness. He's our son after all, and no curse will stop that." Whispered his mother from her bed.

"Thank you, my love. I don't regret anything." She spoke to Azazel this time before going silent.

"I wish i could say the same." Azazel muttered with tears in his eyes, before unfurling wings that seemed to materialise out of thin air. He cast a looming shadow over the room before leaping out the window and soaring into the air.

"Come on, boy lets get you home."

He couldn't believe it.

My dad is motherfuckin Azazel.

Azazel was a shit father.

Leo was able to establish that fact pretty quickly. He had done things like forgetting to feed him, accidentally locking him in rooms, giving him beer. Not that he minded that last one.

It was almost like he was doing this for the first time. (Which he was)

He was almost 4 years old now and he had accomplished absolutely fuck all with his gamer status.

All he had done was used the few points he had to increase his strength and intelligence. He was glad to know that maxing out his affection/reputation with people gave him perks. When he asked Cera why she didn't mention it before he got a simple 'forgot' in reply.

Though it seemed impossible to currently max out Azazel's reputation with him. So he gave up for now.

He had tried to train to increase his constitution, but his abysmal stamina had limited any attempts at training causing him to stop after ten minutes. He had also almost died after collapsing from exhaustion in the bath where he almost drowned… again.

All there was to read was paperwork and porn mags. Both of which were immediately taken from him by his father. "I'll teach you about the ladies when you're older." He said. So he was unable to learn any meaningful skills from reading.

Leo was just grateful he wasn't affected by his trait [Sin of Lust] just yet. At least the stupid game wasn't forcing him to seek out the opposite gender when he was 4.

Though the most frustrating part of this ordeal was his complete inability to use magic on command. I am a conduit of arcane power for god's sake!

No matter how hard he had tried, he had been unable to cast magic on his own terms. Whenever he tried to cast it nothing would happen. But when he least expected it flames would erupt from his hands or a 5 inch hole would be burnt through the wall with his light magic.

Cera had been no help either, as he wasn't strong enough to train and she couldn't even give him a quest.

Overall the years were mind numbingly boring. He got a bit of entertainment playing games with his old man at night, but that was it. Leo was without a doubt the greatest nearly 4 year old skyrim player in this world, proven by the only skill he acquired being [Video Game Prodigy] LVL 50/50.

Throughout the day he had nothing better to do than talk to Cera and be a brat. He clung to his father and screamed through his meetings with other Cadre. He ran around the house (for as long as he could) painting the walls. He entered his fathers office and 'accidentally' knocked over the stack of paperwork that was 3 months old. All in all he was a little shit.

"Not much has changed from your previous life then has it."

Speaking of his home. It was a massive magical penthouse that could appear in any city they wanted so long as the building was owned by the Grigori. Pretty cool if you asked him.

Currently he was sitting on his fathers desk surrounded by stacks of charred paperwork facing off against the Governor General. He had accidentally blown up Azazel's office, destroying countless papers that needed signing months ago along with a bunch of 'educational' material. The pair had been like that for almost 10 minutes.

He looked absolutely exhausted. Dark circles around his eyes, an overgrown beard and a disheveled purple dress shirt.

Azazel was currently drinking a staropramen while Leo drank his own.

"You do this on purpose, don't you?" Asked Azazel.

Leo said nothing, merely taking another swig of his beer. He had to hold the bottle with both hands.

Azazel, Governor General of the Grigori

Race: Fallen Angel

Level: ?

HP: ?

MP: ?

All his antics had actually caused him to lose reputation with his father. Though he was actually surprised it was still so high.

"You can't keep doing this buddy. It may be a great excuse to skip work but I still have to run the Grigori."

"This time it was an accident." Leo huffed before taking another sip.

"This time?"

He had destroyed Azazel's office before.

They returned to staring at each other before the older fallen sighed. "I've gotten you a caretaker. She should be here soon."

Those words actually shocked Leo a bit. He was an absolute brat and made his fathers life hell. Despite this, at the end of every day they both kicked their feet up and played video games together. Had he pushed his luck too far? No, that shouldn't be possible with his maxed out luck.

"Don't look like that. It will be good for you I promise." Azazel looked ready to crack as Leo began to use a toddlers secret weapon. Crying. Yes he had lost all his shame since he had been an infant again. "I swear to you it will be good! She's hot as hell too!"

That got his attention. While Azazel began some long winded speech about how 'it's not you it's me' that he had probably given to thousands of women in his lifetime. Leo began to think about who could be his caretaker. It wouldn't be Penemue as she was chief secretary of the Grigori. Could he be meeting Raynare already!? The thought of a female caretaker brought back memories of his mother. He had only met her for the briefest of moments but he missed her all the same.

"Father." Leo said. Interrupting Azazel's rambling. "What was mother like?"

"She was incredible…" Azazel said after a brief pause. He looked like he would continue with his train of thought before the doorbell buzzed causing them to turn. "That will be her right now."

"Hey Cera. Do you think this will help me get stronger? It's so frustrating being an invalid." Leo asked his ever present companion as Azazel left the room to go get his new caretaker.

"So you're finally coming to terms with what you are, boy?"

"Yes, and it's still a better situation than you are in."

"I have no idea. I am trying to issue you quests but as you already know you need an objective or threat." Spoke Cera. Ignoring is retort.

Everything was a threat to him. He only had 10 HP!

It wasn't long before Azazel returned with a busty horned woman with shining yellow eyes and garbed in an elegant white dress.

"Is that…?!"

"Good news, boy."

Reward: 100xp

[Side Quest]

Don't lose any health.

Reward: 50xp

"Cera. What is this?"

"A quest."

"But why are the rewards so pathetic?!"

"Do I really need to answer that question.? I was barely able to give you the quest as it is."

The xp amount wasn't even enough to push him to level 2. He began to brood at his own misfortune. I've become such a brat haven't I?

Leo felt a soft hand squeeze his own. He looked up to the woman beside him, who held his hand in her own.

Albedo smiled down at him, her vertically slitted eyes shining with affection. He blushed and looked away. God she was beautiful.

Currently her horns and wings were masked by an illusion spell and she wore a simple black dress so as to not alarm the humans around them, she was still the center of everyone's attention though.

He ended up staring at his own reflection in the river they were walking along, trying his best not to look at Albedo. Leo had inherited nothing in looks from his father. Appearance wise he looked like a toddler version of his mother, possessing thick silver hair and eyes.

The city around him was also a nice distraction. It was full of beautiful 19th century European architecture. In his previous life he had always wanted to visit Central Europe but had never gotten the chance. If he had to guess where he was currently, he would assume it was one of the cities along the Danube.

Reluctantly, he glanced back to his caretaker, able to suppress his blush. His sin being unlocked was an obvious worry but right now he was more scared Albedo would snap.

While the companions brought into this world were born here, they still retained parts of their canon personalities. In Albedo's case she had her diligence in performing her duties as his caretaker and saw the majority of humanity as insects. It didn't help that she was constantly approached by human males.

Albedo's backstory in this world was pretty simple. She was born to a Fallen and a Succubus and left in the care of the Grigori. While she had the strength of a 6 wing Fallen Angel, she was unable to grow any more pairs of wings.

"Come, young Master. While I may not see the need for you to socialise with these… humans, your father insisted on it." Her voice was as alluring as her appearance. Leo was simultaneously both grateful and disappointed that he was so young.

"It's going to be such a tragedy for me when you do meet the requirements for that trait to activate." Cera sighed in his head.

"Just don't get off on watching me in bed."

Lots of things were still a mystery in this world to him. Leo knew from his mothers name she was a hero descendant. A descendant of the Hungarian king Mattias Corvinus. How she met Azazel, her powers, how killing her would start a war were not things he knew. In total he had only met 6 people since coming to this world; his mother, his father, Albedo and 3 other Cadre including Baraquiel, Akeno's father.

He had grown lazy and complacent. But what could he actually do but wait for his current quest to complete, his wings hadn't even grown in yet! Perhaps his father was right and he should get out.

Before long the pair arrived at the park. Dozens of other little kids were screaming and running around like headless chickens. Some played football while others played in the fountain. Leo had neither the stamina or desire to join them. (Soccer for Americans)

Reluctantly, Albedo sent him off to go play while she watched him from a bench.

"Well this is even worse than spending all day at home isn't it Cera?" Leo asked the voice in his head. It was no different than being at home except it was louder and there was actually nothing to do. At least at home he could pass the time by annoying his father and playing video games.

"Indeed, boy. I can't even shut them out, unlike your games.

Currently, he was squatting under a tree playing with the dirt with a stick, to his side there was an ant hill. He glanced back to Albedo on the bench. She had half a dozen men trying to talk to her, but her eyes were fixed solely on himself.

Leo was so caught up in her gaze that he didn't even notice the ball flying in his direction before it knocked him over.

His anger quickly vanished as another alert informed him of what he so desperately wanted.

"Hey! Can we have our ball back!" Leo glanced over at the older boy who had questioned him. He had a smug look on his face at his predicament and it was obvious he had recently been laughing. So you did that on purpose?!

Leo supposed he could let the boy off the hook for causing him to fail his side quest this time, as he had inadvertently shown him how to gain xp in this world. He decided to use [Observe] on the boy that was brave enough to cross him.

"Yes… I know it's embarrassing but I need it." It hurt his pride but this was the only way he could currently get stronger.

All in all, it had been a very successful day despite his methods of gaining strength being somewhat… ineffective.

With his mana pool being almost tripled maybe he would be able to start training in magic.

"Let's go home Cera. I'm excited to get started."

"I wouldn't be so hasty, boy. Look around you." Cera's warning was true as right behind him was the boy from earlier along with a few others.

Even with his increased physical stats, they were still half of the boy in front of him.

Leo's blood began to boil. Someone so blatantly inferior than him thought he could push him around.

He almost shat himself when he felt the sharp murderous intent coming from the other side of the park.

"I'll forgive you for that if you bow down and apologise." Damn his [Minor Sin of Pride]. He just had to open his big mouth, if he did this to someone in the supernatural who he wasn't stronger than he could be in trouble. "You should recognise your betters."

Yep. He was screwed in the future. His words had the obvious but undesired result of enraging the bigger child. Instead of backing off the kid raised his fist and attempted to punch him.

Leo attempted to block by raising his arm but the punch went right through and knocked him over again.

The birds were circling now, cawing in panic. Bloodlust was thick in the air and no one but himself and the birds could recognise it.

"You will regret that." Leo muttered.

Come on magic!

He pointed his hands at the boy in front of him. Attempting to finally use his magic on his own terms. Nothing came out…

The kids around him all looked at him with confusion. Before Luka kicked him in the stomach.

You have taken 5 damage!

HP:4/16

This was getting dangerous. He was going to fail this trivial quest wasn't he? The bloodlust in the air was reassuring for the fact that Albedo would probably prevent his death. But it was an opportunity that would be missed. The faster he got stronger, the faster he could fight stronger opponents and train. Therefore,by getting stronger he would be able to get even stronger even faster.

Reputation wasn't a worry. He would get bonuses with her simply for existing. It was everything else that mattered.

Leo rushed the bigger boy in desperation. Maybe delivering a strong enough punch to the jaw would end this.

Did a single punch raise his fatigue by that much?! Or had his ant squashing drained him and he just hadn't been paying attention? Either way it was bad.

Fatigue was the indicator for his exhaustion levels. The higher his fatigue was the lower his speed, strength and magic and health regeneration was. Once he reached 100 in fatigue he would pass out, something he had learned the hard way.

The bigger boy roared in defiance before shoving him over again.
