Scorpius's P.O.V

Silent tears slide down my face, as I tried to contain my sobs. But, I know I had to keep it together, for dad's sake. Sure, I'll never recover from losing mom, but you cannot merely have half of your soul ripped out, like dad, and recover. Mom was dad's other half, and a scar will always be there.

I felt someone squeeze my hand. I looked down and saw my girlfriend, Rose Weasley, holding my hand. I gave her a small smile, then turned back to my mothers casket. "I miss her" I whispered. She flashed me a soft smile, "I know. She wasn't even my mom, but I miss her too." I gently rested my hand on her casket. As a new wave of tears over came me, I felt Rose wrap her arms around me. I turned around and hugged her back.

"If you ever want to talk..." she said. I pulled out of the hug, and rested my hands on her shoulders, holding her at arms length. "I know."

I looked over my shoulder at my dad, Draco. I saw my Aunt Daphne holding dad's hand, which was shocking to say the least. Aunt Daphne was never one for comforting people, and dad was never one to accept comfort.

After a few moments, he noticed my staring. He and Daphne walked over. Dad smiled softly at me, "How are you doing, Scor?" I tried to give him a small smile, but I have a feeling it came out as more of a grimace. "I'm doing as well as anyone would expect. I'm sad she's gone, happy she is in a better place, and mad that this happened to her" I explained. Dad removed his hand from my aunts, and walked forward and hugged me. "I know, buddy. I miss her too"

He then turned around, and gave the signal. I watched as my mothers casket was lowered into the ground. I didn't even realize I was crying (again), until Aunt Daphne took out a handkerchief, and wiped away my tears.

~Time Skip~

6 Months

It has been six months. Six months since my mom died. As much as I hate to say it, I've kinda gotten used to life without her. But that won't stop me from nearly crying with my dad tonight over her.

I looked down at my watch, 6:27. Almost dinner time, and dad still wasn't home. As I sat in the living room and waited, I heard the door open, and my dad shuffle about, putting away his cloak and shoes.

He rushed into the living room, "They found it." I looked up at him from the book I was reading, The Historian. "Found what?" I asked. He looked at me with a grave expression. "The cure. They found the cure to all blood maledictions, and it could of saved her. Do you know what else? They said they had the cure done seven months ago. One month before she died. And they knew about her, why didn't they give it to me?!" he rambled. I stared at him shocked. "Dad! Do you know what this means? If we get permission from the Unspeakable's, we can use a time-turner, travel back in time, and save mom!" He stoped pacing, froze for a good few seconds, and turned to look at me. "Scorpius... That is genius! I'll go ask for permission tomorrow." He said, beaming down at me. I just sent him a genuine smile.

Meanwhile, while Scorpius was chatting to Draco happily at dinner, the only think one Draco's mind was one thing. That maybe, just maybe, they could make it right, and save Astoria.
